Notes:
This Week’s Family Farmers Toyota … Kenny Wallace will pilot RAB Racing Chassis No. 38 in the DRIVE4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway. This chassis last saw action when Wallace drove this Toyota Camry to a seventh-place finish at DIS in 2011’s Subway Jalapeño 250. Wallace at Daytona … Wallace has raced at the 2.5-mile track 23 times in the Nationwide Series garnering one pole and a best finish of fourth, where he has finished twice (1995 and 2005). He also has 19 starts at the World Center of Racing in his 18-year Sprint Cup Series career. RAB Racing at Daytona … In six NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Daytona International Speedway, RAB Racing entries have earned one top-10 finish and have completed 638 of the 664 (96.1 percent) laps contested in those events. Additionally, in four ARCA RE/MAX Series starts at Daytona, RAB Racing has earned one top-five finish. Daytona Flashback … Last time RAB Racing and Wallace competed at the 2.5-mile track, the team finished in the seventh position, beginning a hot streak of top-10 finishes that lasted four consecutive weeks. Double Duty … Crew chief Scott Zipadelli and Kenny Wallace will not only compete in DRIVE4COPD 300, but will also attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500 Thursday night in the Gatorade Duels. Hectic Speedweeks … If piloting a Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series entry at DIS weren’t enough for Wallace, he has also been competing in the UNOH DIRTCar Nationals at Volusia County Speedway. With a third of the wins already under his belt, he hopes to carry this momentum over to asphalt. New Website … Not only is RAB Racing expanding on the track, but also off the track with the launch of our new website. Our updated site makes it easy for fans and media to follow along throughout the 2012 season. Visit www.TeamRAB.com for news, releases, results, and multimedia. Looking Back at 2011 … RAB Racing and Wallace accumulated one top-five and 11 top-10 finishes, an average starting position of 16.1 and an average finishing position of 15.8 in the 34 events raced in 2011. Wallace led nine laps of competition and completed 97 percent of the laps contested (6,203 of 6,397). RAB Racing was the top-finishing Toyota in the driver championship point standings and the only single-car Nationwide Series team in the top-10. Catch the Action … The DRIVE4COPD 300 from Daytona International Speedway will be televised live Saturday, Feb. 25 beginning at 1 p.m. EST on ESPN 2 and broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network. NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying will be televised live Wednesday, Feb. 24 beginning at 2 p.m. EST on ESPN 2.
Kenny Wallace Quotes:
“Speedweeks is a magical time in my life. Growing up in St. Louis, all we thought about was going to Daytona International Speedway. To be here, with an opportunity to win the 10th race of my Nationwide Series career, it doesn’t get any better than this.” “The Nationwide Series is my home, and I am excited to return to NNS competition at Daytona International Speedway. The Family Farmers car looks good and I look forward to driving it.”
