Two times for the Texas two-step…Cale Gale will make his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend in the WinStar World Casino 400. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender last competed at Texas Motor Speedway in November 2008 when he started on the outside front row, narrowly missing the pole by one one-thousandth of a second.
Coming off his career-best finish…Gale’s fifth-place finish at Dover (Del.) International Speedway was not only his best finish of the 2012 season, but also his career-best finish in the NCWTS. Prior to the weekend at Dover International Speedway, Gale recorded two top-10 finishes in 15 NCWTS starts, including a seventh-place finish at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway and a ninth-place finish at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.
Meet Cale Gale…Fans in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will have two opportunities to meet the driver of the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet throughout the WinStar World Casino 400 weekend. Gale will join Eddie Sharp racing (ESR) teammate Justin Lofton and David Starr at the Denton Camping World Store (5209 I35 North, Denton, Texas 76207) on Wednesday, June 6, at 7:00 p.m. CDT. The drivers will be available to meet fans, sign autographs and pose for photos. Gale will also join several other NCWTS drivers for an at-track autograph session in the FanZone from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. CDT on Friday, June 8.
Gale visits Victory Lane… After his fifth-place finish at Dover International Speedway, Gale climbed behind the wheel of the No. 83 Rheem modified to win the Rolling Thunder Modified race at Dillon (S.C.) Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 2. Gale qualified on the pole and led all 50 laps en route to the checkered flag. Race for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year… With his top-five finish at Dover International Speedway, Gale moved in to second-place in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings. Currently 33 points behind leader Ty Dillon, Gale is coming off his first race being named the “Sunoco Rookie of the Race.”

Cale Gale Quotes… On racing at Texas Motor Speedway: “Texas is another mile-and-a-half track, so we’re taking the same Rheem Chevrolet that we ran at both Kansas Speedway and Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. It’s been a really good truck for us so far. We had a great week last week at Dover; we hope some of that momentum carries over to this week and we’re able to back it up with another good finish. Texas Motor Speedway is a fast mile-and-a-half, it’s a little rough, and it has high banking allowing for multiple racing grooves. It’s a very racy race track-I think you’ll see a lot of good competition out of the NCWTS on Friday night.”
On racing around family in Dallas-Fort Worth: “I spent a lot of time in Texas as a kid. I have a lot of family that lives there-my mom grew up there and most of her family still lives there. My grandmother is there, and I have lots of aunts and uncles there too. There were a lot of summers where I spent several weeks in Texas. I was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan growing up; I toured the old Cowboys Stadium. I’ve been to a Maverick’s basketball game, a Texas Rangers baseball game; I’ve even toured the Reunion Tower in Dallas. It’s a great city with a great race track. I always look forward to racing there.”

Jerry Baxter Quotes… On what to expect from the No. 33 Rheem team at Texas Motor Speedway: “The track at Texas Motor Speedway is very fast. There’s a pretty good size bump over the tunnel in turn one, and having your truck run well over that bump is key to being successful there. The track loosens up quite a bit at night. We practice during the day, so we can’t go overboard with our setup. We went to the seven-post last week to prepare for Texas and we hope that will give us a bit of an advantage. Cale raced at Texas once and qualified on the front row. We know he can get around there in a hurry, so the Rheem team is pretty excited for this weekend.”
On having momentum on our side: “Cale actually running up front gave him the confidence to know that he can run up front. So much of racing is a mental thing, and having that confidence should be a huge asset for him. I think our team showed some good resilience last week; we lost a lot of track position when we spun after making contact, but we got down pit road, took care of our Rheem Chevrolet and worked our way back through the field with good strategy and solid restarts. It showed the entire team that we can come back from things happening. The first day on-track at Dover can be so intimidating. Cale spent a lot of that first day trying to feel it out. When he came back the next day and qualified fifth, it was obvious that he spent a lot of time thinking about track and learned a lot about racing at Dover. Having those practices and the time to process everything, those are things that are huge for his learning curve and confidence when we go to new tracks.”

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado Truck Information
The No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet team will compete with chassis No. 051 as their primary truck at Texas Motor Speedway. It is the same chassis that Gale and the Rheem team recently utilized at Kansas Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway where Gale finished 11th and 19th, respectively.
