Biffle on racing at Pocono Raceway:
“I’m nervous heading to Pocono because I have no idea what to expect. We have a day and a half of testing, which is good, but I have no idea how fast it will be, or how different it will drive through the corners. I’m excited it was repaved and also think that the race being shortened to 400 miles will create some excitement with the fans. There will be more urgency to go and different strategy during the race. I’m pretty anxious to get there and get on the track.”
Crew chief Matt Puccia on racing at Pocono Raceway:
“Pocono is a unique triangle-shaped race track that offers lots of opportunities to pass. It’s going to be a challenge with the new track surface. It will be fresh for everyone, and not having been there since the repave, we have no idea what to expect. But it should be really fast with the new surface.”
FAST FACTS
• Testing: The No. 16 team will test the backup chassis RK-786 on Wednesday and Thursday.
• Last Time at Pocono: Early in the race Biffle and teammate Matt Kenseth made contact causing left front fender damage to the No. 16 Ford. As Biffle tried to catch up with the field following a pit stop for damage repair, he was penalized for changing lanes on the restart. He remained on the lead lap but was at the rear of the field. He and the 3M Pit Bulls steadily made up ground and when the next caution came out almost 80 laps later, the team picked up seven spots in the pits to restart 15th. Following an hour and 40 minute rain delay, Biffle picked up seven positions of his own for an eighth-place finish
• Point Standings: Biffle is currently leading the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver point standings; one point ahead of second.
