Hefty®/Reynolds® Racing NOTES
23rd in Owners’ Standings…After being involved in a late-race accident on Saturday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway and posting a disappointing 29th-place finish, the No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds® team slipped one position to 23rd in the NASCAR Owner Standings.
Jeff Green to Pilot the No. 14 Camry at RIR: Jeff Green will once again return to the driver seat of the No. 14 Camry for Friday night’s prime time event at Richmond Int’l Raceway. Green is filling in for the Hefty®/Reynolds® Race team’s regular driver, Eric McClure, who is still recovering from an illness that left him hospitalized for eight days prior to the events at BMS. This weekend will mark Green’s fourth consecutive week driving for the Hefty®/Reynolds® team.
RIR Fast Facts… This weekend’s Virginia 529 College Savings 250 will mark Green’s 364th Nationwide Series start and his 46th at the Virginia short track. Of the 45 races Green has participated in at RIR, 24 of them came while driving in the Nationwide Series. In those NNS starts, the Owensboro, KY native has one win, four top-five and six top-10 finishes. He’s completed 4,079 laps and has an average finish of 24.
Chassis No. 5 … Crew Chief Todd Myers has selected chassis No. 5 for this weekend’s event at RIR. This chassis was last run by Green at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course where the team was credited with a 24th-place finish after being involved in an accident during the white-flag lap.
Hilton Garden Inn-Richmond Downtown Returns as Associate Sponsor: Team McClure, Inc. is pleased to announce that Hilton Garden Inn-Richmond Downtown will continue their partnership with McClure and the TriStar Motorsports organization for the September race weekend. This marks the hotel’s fourth consecutive year as an associate sponsor of McClure and their third with TriStar Motorsports.
Silver Reynolds Wrap Scheme Returns…The No. 14 Camry will return to the silver and blue colors of the Reynolds Wrap® brand for this weekend’s 250-lap event. Friday’s event is the fifth time this season the Reynolds Wrap® brand will adorn the hood of the TriStar Motorsports entry.
Tune-In: Friday night’s race from RIR will be televised live on ESPN 2 beginning at 7:00 p.m. (ET). MRN (Motor Racing Network) and Sirius Channel 90 will also broadcast the event live on Friday, September 6, 2013.
