A Dog Named Dover… Peters and his wife Sarah have an 8-year-old chocolate lab named Dover. TIMOTHY PETERS QUOTES:

On returning to “The Monster Mile”, one of his favorite tracks… “I love Dover (International Speedway) and can’t wait to go racing there. The concrete race track really suits my driving style; you have to be patiently aggressive. It should be a great race for us and for the fans.”

On the No. 17 team’s momentum and the 2014 season so far… “I think we’ve had a really good season so far. We’ve had a few unfortunate events, but we’ve never given up hope. The team has worked really hard, we’ve had some good finishes and we’ve continued to fight for the championship each week. I have no doubt that we’ll be there at the end if we just continue to work hard each week.”

Germán Quiroga
No. 77 NET10 Wireless
Toyota Tundra
This Week’s NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra at Dover International Speedway… Germán Quiroga will be competing in chassis No. 002 at Dover International Speedway this weekend. This is the same chassis with which he earned his first pole award at Iowa Speedway in 2013. The last time he competed in this chassis was at Martinsville Speedway where he came home with a seventh-place finish.Quiroga at Dover International Speedway… Quiroga has one previous start at the Dover, Delaware race track, in 2013 where he finished 13th after starting from the eighth position. This is the first time in history that a Mexican-born driver has been in the top five in points in any of NASCAR’s top series. Quiroga earned a 20th-place starting position and once the race started, the team was able to make adjustments and give him a Tundra with which he could compete. The Mexico native earned his fourth consecutive top-10 finish of the season, coming home ninth, and moved up to third in the championship point standings.

GERMÁN QUIROGA QUOTES:

On making NASCAR history, and moving into the top-five in series point standings… “I think we’re in a great position right now, sitting third in points, but that doesn’t mean we need to relax. We need to keep trying as hard as we can each weekend, our goal is to be sitting in that first position after Homestead (Miami Speedway), so we still have a long way to go.”

On heading to Dover International Speedway for his second career race there… “Obviously things are always better when you race at a track that you’ve already been to. We did well at Dover (International Speedway) last season, we had great speed and were good in practice and qualifying but we got too loose at the end of the race. I think it’s one of the tracks I feel comfortable at, and I’m excited to go back.”
