EARNHARDT ROLLS INTO BRISTOL
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Jeffrey Earnhardt is ready to race 300 laps at Bristol Motor Speedway Friday night.
Although it’s only a half-mile in length, Bristol is one of the toughest tracks on the Nationwide Series circuit. High-banked and very fast, the track will once again test drivers in Friday night’s Food City 300 Nationwide race.
Earnhardt has run in three Nationwide races at BMS and has a firm respect for the track.
“Bristol is all I heard it would be,” Earnhardt said. “You can watch cars go around the track from the infield and be amazed at the speeds, but putting one on the track and going around there is incredible. It’s like a big rollercoaster. You’re out of one turn for what seems like a second, and then you’re in the next.”
Earnhardt, who will be driving the Flex Shot Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller at Bristol, is 18th in Nationwide Series points.
Bristol practice is scheduled at 1:30 and 3 p.m. (ET) Thursday. Qualifying is set for 3:40 p.m. Friday, with the race to follow at 7:30.
