TONY STEWART, NO. 14 MOBIL 1/OFFICE DEPOT CHEVROLET met with media and discussed practice and racing at Kentucky. FULL TRANSCRIPT:
HOW WAS PRACTICE? “Oh, I’m encouraged by it. I’m cautiously optimistic; we’ll see. But I was pretty happy with the way it ran in the first practice. I think we’re a lot better than the last couple of races that we’ve been here, for sure. So we’ll wait and see.”
ON KENTUCKY, YOU’VE NEVER RACED THERE AND SEVERAL OTHERS. DOES THAT PUT YOU BEHIND GOING IN THERE OR IS IT GOING TO BE PRETTY SIMILAR FOR EVERYBODY? “Oh, there’s guys who have run the Nationwide race there that know the track. It’s no different than when we all ran our first races at Dover or anywhere else. We’ll have a practice day there anyway before we go into it. The good thing is by that you should have a pretty good idea about what you’re doing before the race.”
