ADVANCE NOTES
Bayne at Road America
· Trevor Bayne will make his fourth NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Road America this Saturday. In three previous starts at the 4.048-mile road course, Bayne has recorded one top-10 finish.
· In the past four NNS races held at Road America, Bayne ranks sixth in laps run in the top 15 (65) and seventh in green flag passes (119). Bayne also ranks ninth in quality passes (53), green flag speed (104.79 mph) and in fastest drivers early in a run (105.64 mph), according to NASCAR’s loop data statistics.
· Bayne earned his best finish of 10th at Road America in the NNS event on June 19, 2010.
The Car
· The No.6 AdvoCare team will race chassis RK-775 on Saturday afternoon in Road America. This chassis previously raced on the road courses of Road America and Mid-Ohio during the 2013 NNS season, earning a best finish of ninth at Mid-Ohio.
Recapping Michigan
· Bayne started the 125-Lap event at Michigan International Speedway from the 14th position. After running inside the top 10 for much of the race, Bayne was forced to go to the garage area following an incident just past the halfway point. After returning to the track to earn some valuable championship points, Bayne brought the No.6 AdvoCare Ford back to the garage area, ending his afternoon early. In the end, Bayne was scored in the 30th position. With the result, Bayne now ranks fifth in the championship standings and trails leader Regan Smith by 50 points.
QUOTE WORTHY
Bayne on racing at Road America:
“I’m definitely excited about getting the chance to go road course racing this weekend at Road America. I really enjoy all of the challenges that come with racing on a road course. It’s something that we don’t normally get to do and I feel like it levels the playing field for everyone. I’m ready to get going again. Especially after what happened last week, we’re not out of this yet, and I know that Chad (Norris) and the guys will give me a great No.6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang this weekend.”
Crew Chief Chad Norris on Road America:
“We’re ready to head to Road America this weekend with our AdvoCare team. We didn’t get the finish we were hoping for last weekend in Michigan, but I know we’ll be able to bounce back strong this weekend in Road America. Road course racing is a whole different animal for us. It involves a lot of strategy that makes us really work the race backwards. I’m excited for the challenge and I know Trevor will give our No.6 Ford a strong run this weekend.”
