TALLADEGA, AL – While the races at NASCAR’s most competitive venue – Talladega Superspeedway – are anticipated by fans across the globe, so, too, is the track’s infamous Saturday Night Infield Concert. Two months out of a Talladega weekend, eager enthusiasts are already asking, “Who will be performing the Saturday Night Concert?”
Today, Talladega Superspeedway is proud to announce that country music star Thomas Rhett will take the stage on Saturday, October 18, just hours after the conclusion of the fred’s 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, and the night before the GEICO 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series main event.
In what has become a Talladega tradition with top music acts, the Saturday Night Concert will feature Rhett, whose boundary-pushing music will match perfectly with the good times in the infield of the biggest and baddest race track on the planet. Rhett’s songs like “Get Me Some of That” and “It Goes Like This” will have the intersection of Eastaboga and Talladega Boulevards rocking well into the night. The best part about the concert is that admission is FREE with the purchase of a Sunday race ticket for the GEICO 500.
“Having a performer the caliber of Thomas Rhett here at Talladega—given all his recent success on the Country charts—is something really special for our fans,” said Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch. “Talladega Boulevard is NASCAR’s ‘Party Capital’ thanks in part to our Saturday Night Infield Concerts and our amazing fans who come out every year to have a good time. This October’s concert is going to be one you don’t want to miss.”
Rhett’s talent as both a performer and a songwriter is fully evident on the diverse, yet cohesive, collection of songs that make up his chart-topping debut album. From his second #1 Hit Single “Get Me Some of That,” to the Top-15 singles “Beer With Jesus” and “Something To Do With My Hands,” the Georgia native showcases the breadth of musical influences that seamlessly work together to make up his unique sound.
Rhett recently had a run of sold-out headlining shows (at stops including New York, Boston, Charlotte, Knoxville, Chicago and more), toured with Brantley Gilbert on his LET IT RIDE TOUR, and is currently on the road with Miranda Lambert and Justin Moore on the PLATINUM TOUR. Rhett’s performance will mark the second straight evening of fun activities in the infield. Friday night, the track will host its second “Big One on the Blvd” parade, which in May featured drivers Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Austin Dillon and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on Talladega Boulevard. Details on the events taking place Friday, October 17 are soon to come.
NASCAR speeds back into Talladega Superspeedway October 17-19 for the GEICO 500 Sprint Cup Series race and fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola Camping World Truck Series event. NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track (record 88 lead changes in 188 laps), with the circuit’s steepest banking (33 degrees) and longest distance (2.66 miles), is also the most fun and fan-friendly, offering up hundreds of acres of free camping, amazing kids ticket prices and special offers for military members and college students. Talladega Superspeedway is NASCAR’s “Party Capital” thanks to the track’s infamous infield and world renowned Talladega Blvd. The historic venue has always worked hard to enhance the fan experience in every way and now features the most comfortable seats in motorsports, large video viewing boards (a new initiative planned for future implementation at all ISC tracks) lining the frontstretch and endless activities for fans throughout its event weekends.
