MEET BRENNAN
On Friday, April 10 from 2:25 – 2:40 p.m. CDT, Poole will participation in a Q&A and sign autographs for fans at the Team Chevy Display in the midway at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS).
HOME SWEET HOME
Poole heads to his home track of TMS this weekend. Poole is a native of The Woodlands, Texas, located about 30 minutes north of Houston and a graduate of The Woodlands Christian Academy High School. Poole won several times at TMS in Legend Car and competed in open-wheel dirt modifieds. This will be his first time competing on the mile-and-a-half oval in a NASCAR XFINITY car. This will be Poole’s second XFINITY Series race at a 1.5-mile track, after he scored a top-10 finish in his XFINITY Series debut on the mile-and-a-half track of Las Vegas Motor Speedway in early March.
A LOOK BACK AT FONTANA
Defending race winner Kyle Larson returned to the seat of the No. 42 ENEOS Chevrolet Camaro for the third-time in 2015. Larson and several other cars were involved in an accident during final practice after running through oil from another competitor. The team was able to prepare the backup car in time to get it on the track for at least a short time. The 150-lap race was highlighted by several long green-flag runs and Larson was able to make his way into the top 10 within the first 20 laps of the race. He ran a race-high sixth with less than 50 laps to go and was able to remain in the top 10. Larson would ultimately end up finishing 7th, marking his third top 10 finish in as many XFINITY Series starts.
BRENNAN POOLE ON TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY
“Texas is a very fast mile-and-a-half and is pretty bumpy, which gives it a lot of character. This will be my first time competing on the big oval and is something I have dreamed about as long as I’ve been racing. It’s exciting to compete in the XFINITY Series in my home state. I have competed at the TMS dirt track, road course and quarter-mile in the past. It’s going to be a great feeling having support in an area that I grew up racing.”
CREW CHIEF MIKE SHIPLETT ON TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY
“Typically, there’s a lot of long green-flag runs in Texas, so we will work on drivability during practice. Brennan did really well at Vegas in his debut, so we’re looking forward to getting him back to another mile-and-a-half track. If we can achieve the particular feel Brennan is looking for in the DC Solar Camaro, then we should have a pretty good night.”
