Hamlin remains out at Richmond; Possible start at Talladega

Denny Hamlin will remain out of the Joe Gibbs Racing No.11 at Richmond International Raceway this weekend as doctors say he needs to wait at least another week.

“Ultimately, we even talked about doing that here at Richmond, but it’s unfair to the team for me to get out and then go three or four laps down on pit road and really know that the team’s not going to finish any better than 35th. Why would they even show up for that?” Hamlin said.

After sustaining a compression fracture to his L1 vertebra at California Speedway on March 24, Hamlin is on track in his recovery, but not as fast as Hamlin would have wished. Hamlin said last week that he would like to return at Richmond, but per doctor’s orders, that was not possible.

“I saw the scan and saw the healing that they were talking about. However, some kind of in-plate is not healing the way that they wanted it and that’s what they wanted in order to clear me. Really, that was their determining factor and, obviously, my injury is very, very hard because there is no exact science to the risk.” Hamlin said.

“Obviously, we were hoping to be optimistic by coming here (Richmond) and my thought was that being a shorter track the chances of you taking the same hit again was substantially less, but it’s just all subjective and opinions.”

Hamlin planned to start at Talladega and then let another driver take over. Right now that plan is still reachable if the healing continues and if he is cleared by his doctors.

“They all came to the conclusion they were happy with me starting Talladega and getting out when it’s a safe time to get out.” Hamlin said.

If not, then Hamlin will move on to Darlington. “We will start our process at Talladega and then rescan again and try to go to Darlington.” Hamlin said.

Brian Vickers will continue to drive in his absence this weekend.

  • Johnson dominates at Martinsville; Takes over series points lead

Johnson dominates at Martinsville; Takes over series points lead

Jimmie Johnson captured his 62nd career Sprint Cup Series victory on Sunday’s in the STP Gas Booster 500 at Martinsville Speedway.  Johnson led 346 laps in route to his eighth win and 20th top-10 finish in 23 races at Martinsville.

“I feel like the fastest car won the race. It was a very standard Martinsville race; although I thought some guys might peel off and take tires. It was just a hard race. This race track is tough to get around.” Johnson said.

Johnson started from the pole and dominated another race at this speedway.  Now only Richard Petty (15) and Darrell Waltrip (11) have more wins.

Clint Bowyer finished second, Jeff Gordon third, Kasey Kahne fourth and Kyle Busch finished fifth.

“We had a good car all weekend long so it’s incredibly disappointing to be honest to have such a good car.  Second is decent in this sport, but it still sucks.” Bowyer said.

Heading into the final laps it looked like another repeat from last years race with Johnson, Bowyer and Gordon fighting for the race win.  But Johnson got a great restart with eight laps to go and kept enough space between himself and Bowyer.  Gordon was also unable to make a run on Bowyer for second place in the closing laps.

“Well, we just didn’t need those cautions there at the end. I made a mistake on pit road and got us way behind. But, what an incredible effort for this Drive to End Hunger Chevrolet team.” Gordon said.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., the points leader heading into Martinsville had some late race contact with Danica Patrick and finished in 25th, 2-laps down.

Patrick, who went two laps down at one part of the race, battled back onto the lead lap and finished a very respectable 12th place.

“We obviously went down real early with that spin and then were two laps down at one point.  So I feel that is one of the things that I am most proud about is coming back from two laps down and being on the last lap.   Then grabbing a 12th place finish in the end was good and I think it was the right call to stay out because I don’t think tires were quite worth enough to pit, so it was a good run today.” Patrick said.

Johnson took over the series points standings by 6 points over Brad Keselowski and 12 over teammate Earnhardt Jr.

“We had a great weekend, probably the most calm, relaxed thought-out we’ve had. We really fell back on our experience and stayed committed to that,” said Johnson, who took over the Sprint Cup points lead with the win. “In the race we had to adjust on the fly. The track changed more than we thought it would. And then the 15 (Clint Bowyer) and the 24 (Gordon) showed up and I had my hands full.”

  • Amazing determination earns Gordon and the No.24 team a chase berth

Amazing determination earns Gordon and the No.24 team a chase berth

[media-credit name=”David Yeazell” align=”alignright” width=”225″][/media-credit]Jeff Gordon drove the No. 24 Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet to a second place finish on Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway and placed himself into the chase for the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.

“It was amazing. I still can’t believe we actually did it. I know how proud Rick is to have all four teams into this Chase. That was a big goal of ours. Pretty amazing to know we accomplished that.” Gordon said.

It was not easy for Gordon though. Gordon started the race second and took the lead briefly from polesitter and teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. briefly before dropping back in the pack and then later losing a lap.

“We just flat out missed the setup at the beginning. Luckily Alan and the engineers got together and found the tools that we could utilize to make the car better. The biggest thing is that rear bar, we just had to get rid of it. We did that. We cut the chain. Our car really started coming to us right then. We finally got some drive off.” Gordon said.

Thanks to Mother Nature prevailing again, Gordon got his lap back after another red flag for rain. Gordon restarted the race in last place of the cars on the lead lap, but quickly made his presence known. With fresh tires and pure determination, Gordon worked himself all the way back up into second place and earned the final position in the chase, 12th.

“All the things that have gone for us this year, everything went right for us tonight. We had some guys stay out there on tires on basically that last caution that really cost them good finishing positions. We came in and got tires at that time. We were able to drive up through there. Had a good racecar.” Gordon said.

Gordon delivered a message to the competition on Saturday night. During the final ten races, Gordon is not planning on making this championship easy for any one else.

“To me, after you have that kind of effort, fall back, then come up there and finish second, almost win the race, make it in by one point, man, I don’t see any reason why we can’t go over these next 10 races and be a real threat for the championship.” Gordon said.

Also all three Hendrick Motorsports teammates also earned their place in the chase. Jimmie Johnson will start second and Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start 7th.

“We’ve been consistent all year long. We just hope we can keep that up. I think it’s going to take a couple wins to win a championship outright.” Earnhardt Jr. said of his chances of making the chase.

Kasey Kahne will start the chase in 11th position.

“I’m just really, really happy and excited to be able to do that. Hendrick Motorsports, Mr. Hendrick, gives us great opportunity to win races and run up front, the way the season started, to fight back, make it into the Chase.” Kahne said.

  • Kenseth 100-percent focused and committed to Roush

Kenseth 100-percent focused and committed to Roush

[media-credit name=”Barry Albert” align=”alignright” width=”225″][/media-credit]Currently sitting in third-place in the Sprint Cup Series points standings, Matt Kenseth heads into Richmond International Raceway already locked in the chase and focused on his current No. 17 team and not his future No. 20 team at Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR).

“It is hard because I am really excited about that but I don’t want to slight the team I am at either. I am still working over there until the end of the season and I am 100-percent focused and committed on Roush Fenway racing and trying to win over there.” Kenseth said.

Currently Kenseth has one win, nine top-5’s and 15 top-10’s this season and is poised to win another championship despite being the odd driver out at one team and the new driver at another.

“I think most of that is all past us. One thing they told me is that they didn’t like my horizontal stripes on Tuesday. Other than that they didn’t really say much about it. I went over and hung out with them for awhile the other day and they are fine. They understand. I think they have been over that for awhile and we are all focused on the task at hand.” Kenseth said of his team seeing him in different colors on Tuesday.

Kenseth won at Richmond in 2002 and hopes Saturday night under the lights, he can win another.”

“It has always been one of my favorite tracks. We have really struggled a lot here really since the COT car came along. I think it is an important race for us. We definitely want to get a good finish and have some momentum going into Chicago and maybe you can learn some things that you can use at New Hampshire or that type of thing.”

With all of the hype of changing teams and changing manufactures, Kenseth does not see this as a distraction, but motivation to do more.

“I don’t think that is going to change things. All your incentives are to try to do good, no matter what your plans are for the following year. All our incentives are to win races and try to win the championship.” Kenseth said.

With positive motivation from his team, fans and the new future, Kenseth could be heading to JGR as the 2012 Sprint Cup Champion.

“I think most of the fan feedback and some of my peers and stuff like that has been almost 100-percent positive which makes me feel good.” Kenseth said. “I was kind of surprised how excited I am honestly. I am excited about that opportunity to go do that next year.”

  • Busch wins the Capital City 400 at Richmond International Raceway

Busch wins the Capital City 400 at Richmond International Raceway

[media-credit name=”Brad Keppel” align=”alignright” width=”225″][/media-credit]Kyle Busch held off Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the final restart, ending his 20 race winless streak on Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway.

Busch beat then leader Tony Stewart out of the pits during the final caution flag pit stops with 14 laps remaining.  On the restart, Stewart spun his tires again, giving Busch a 3-4 car length lead heading into turn-1. Earnhardt Jr. was able to make it around Stewart for second with eight laps to go.

With three laps to go, Earnhardt reports he is losing his brakes and Busch cruises to his 24th career win and the fourth consecutive spring race victory.

“We had some brake problems all race long. I had a great re-start and I ran really great for one lap and the pedal went back to the floor. I just had to pump it up all the way down the straightaway and I didn’t have any front brakes getting into the corner so I couldn’t get in real hard.” Earnhardt said.

Stewart dominated a lot of the race up until the final caution.  He finished third.

“Well, when the caution is for a plastic (water) bottle on the backstretch, it’s hard to feel good about losing that one, I mean. And we gave it away on pit road. So we did everything we could to throw it away; it got taken away from us. That’s the best car I’ve had a Richmond in a long time.” Stewart said.

Denny Hamlin fourth and Kasey Kahne finished fifth.

Greg Biffle finished 18th and has a 5-point lead over Earnhardt Jr. in the series standings

On Lap 320 Carl Edwards was black-flagged for jumping the restart. Stewart on the inside spun his tires, making it look like Edwards had a larger jump than he really did. Stewart was the leader, so Edwards had to do a drive-thru penalty. Stewart was able to stay on the lead lap until Stewart passed him with 28 laps remaining, putting him one lap down.

“This takes a minute to explain so bear with me. I was on the outside and thought Tony Stewart was the leader on the inside. NASCAR told my spotter about three seconds before the restart that the 99 was the leader. They put us on the scoreboard as the leader and I realized I was at a disadvantaged position on the outside land and NASCAR made a little mistake. I got the best start I could and Tony didn’t start or spun his tires and NASCAR black flagged us. I don’t know why they black flagged me. I don’t think it is right and I don’t agree with it. Before I say something stupid because I am real frustrated I would like to go talk to them.” Edwards said.

A caution flag came out with 13 laps to go, giving Edwards the “lucky dog” pass. Edwards was able to battle back to 10th place.

“I would give anything to be able to have that start again and be able to race to the end. That was going to be a heck of a race.” Edwards said.

Jeff Gordon’s disaster of a season continues. Gordon started sixth but had dropped back to mid pack by the 50-lap competition caution flag. On lap 57, Gordon got a little sideways, possible help from the no.43, went up the track got into Greg Biffle and Kurt Busch. Gordon had to pit for tires and repairs and came out 2-laps down in 31st position. Gordon was never able to overcome the laps down and finished 23rd and sits 17th in the series standings.

Kurt Busch also suffered damage but was able to continue on despite a tire rub. On lap 116 Busch spun out on the frontstretch, bringing out the caution flag and he looses a lap. Busch finished 28th.

The series heads to Talladega Superspeedway next week.

Martin captures the Capital City 400 pole at Richmond

[media-credit name=”Brad Keppel” align=”alignright” width=”258″][/media-credit]Mark Martin qualified late and captured the pole for Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series Capital City 400 at Richmond International Raceway with a lap of 128.327 MPH (21.04 secs).

“I tried to get it on the first lap. I really didn’t want to run the second lap. I knew I was going to be close to wrecking and I didn’t want to wreck the car and when he (Rodney Childers, crew chief) didn’t call me off on the first lap, I knew that we hadn’t got it.” Martin said. “I had to buckle down and try to get a little bit more that second lap. It’s just a tribute to everybody that supports us at MWR (Michael Waltrip Racing).”

This was Martin’s second pole of the season and the 53rd of his career.

Martin captured his first pole at Richmond 31 years ago.  He also breaks the previous record of the oldest pole winner at Richmond (53 years, 3 months, 19 days).

“I think a lot of guys like to see an old dude like me pull one off every once in a while. It’s pretty cool. Carl’s (Edwards) a good dude. It’ll be there other way around next time probably.” Martin said.

Carl Edwards qualified second, Kevin Harvick third, A.J. Allmendinger fourth and Kyle Busch qualified 5th.

“That is a good lap and we have Ford EcoBoost on the car which is a great product and hopefully this is a top-five or six starting spot. We have a better race trim package than we do a qualifying trim package so I am excited about that.” Edwards said.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. led the final practice session and qualified 10th. Teammates Jeff Gordon 6th, Kasey Kahne 9th, and Jimmie Johnson qualified 27th.

Series points leader Greg Biffle qualified 28th.

“I don’t know what happened there. I just guess we didn’t have the grip we needed. I was probably just a little bit tight in the center I guess and that was all the grip I had. It was all that I could do.” Biffle said.

Moffitt wins the K&N Blue Ox 100 at Richmond

[media-credit name=”Getty Images for NASCAR” align=”alignright” width=”262″][/media-credit]NASCAR’s K&N Pro East Series visited Richmond International Speedway on Thursday night for the Blue Ox 100, the third race of the season.

Brett Moffitt grabbed the pole with a lap of 21.983 secs, 122.822 MPH for his first pole of the season and the fifth of his career.

Just four laps in, the no.98 driven by Chad Boat spun, bringing out the first caution of the night. Boat was able to get it restarted and resume but he flat spotted his tires and had to pit on lap 25 after making contact with the turn-2 wall.

The no.32 driven by Dale Quarterley got into the turn-4 wall, bringing out the second caution of the night. Quarterley had to pit for right side damage and a =flat tire. Quarterley later hit the wall hard on lap 66. His no.32 Chevrolet had heavy damage and he took it behind the wall.

On lap 45, the no.16, driven by Duarte Ferreira, blew a right front and pounded the outside wall. The car came to rest in the grass on the frontstretch, his night was over.

After the restart on lap 54, the no.15 driven by Carlos Iaconelli hits the wall hard in turn-1 after his right front tire gave way.

Travis Pastrana (no.99) got turned around after contact from Bryan Ortiz (no.4) in turn-2. Pastrana had to pit under caution for tires.

Driver of the no.14, Daniel Suarez spun up the track into the path of the no.12, driven by Jorge Contreras, Jr. into turn-3. Both suffer heavy damage and brought out the red flag with 10 laps remaining.

Polesitter Moffitt held off Chase Elliott and Corey LaJoie on the final green-white-checkered restart in a photo finish by .011 seconds.  This was Moffitt’s fifth career win.

Elliott’s second place finish was the best finish of his K&N Pro Series East career.

LaJoie finished third, Kyle Larson fourth and Brando Gdovic finished fifth.

Next up: Iowa Speedway on May 19th for the Iowa 150 pres. by Graham Tire.

[media-credit name=”Credit: Jeff Zelevansky/Getty Images” align=”alignright” width=”228″][/media-credit]Ryan Newman holds off AJ Allmendinger on the final green-white-checkered restart on Sunday to win the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

The win was Newman’s first of the season, first at Martinsville and the 16th of his Sprint Cup career.

“We were not a dominate race car. Clint kind of cleared out turn one for us and we were fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time.” Newman said.

“It was just circumstances with the No. 10 there doing what he did. I’m not sure what happened or if he ran out of fuel or had a problem whatever happened.” Newman added.

A late caution flag came out for the stopped No. 10 car driven by David Reutimann. Trying to keep the team in the top-35 in the standings, Reutimann stayed out on the track until the car just quit. NASCAR had already black flagged him he was planning on pitting the next time around, but it was too little to late.

“The thing quit going down the back straightaway, and it shut off. I just didn’t stop there intentionally.” Reutimann said.

Teammates Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson were in a door-to-door battle for the race lead with 4 laps remaining when the caution flag came out. It appeared to be a sure bet that one of them was going to bring team owner Rick Hendrick his 200th Cup Series win, but circumstances did not allow it.

Gordon and Johnson did not pit under the final caution. On the first green-white-checkered restart both Gordon and Johnson were on old tires while the other lead lap cars behind them had new tires due to pitting for fuel and tires. Going into turn-1, Clint Bowyer dive bombed underneath Gordon as a result of a hard hit from the then fifth place Ryan Newman. The two cars bumped and moved up the track into Johnson who was on the outside. All three drivers spun and Newman dived low and took over the race lead. Newman then held off AJ Allmendinger for the win during green-white-checkered flag.

Johnson finished 12th and Gordon finished 14th.

“Clint is a friend of mine. He is a great race car driver. It was not like him to do that. He said he got a hit from behind from the No. 39. I didn’t get the best restart. The tires are really old. I spun the tires a slight bit. When I saw him go down to the inside of me I knew we were all in trouble. All I could do was just hold on tight.” Gordon said.

“We just restarted and got going. That inside lane is awfully inviting at times to dive-bomb on people. The No. 15 (Clint Bowyer) threw a dive-bomb in there. I’m sure once he got in there and realized it wasn’t the best idea. It turned me around. It turned the No. 24 (Jeff Gordon) around. But it is what it is. It’s short track racing.” Johnson said.

“My frustration and certainly Jeff’s (Gordon) is to be the class of the field all day long and be up front and have something stupid like this take us out is frustrating and we want to get this 200th win for Rick real bad and we could have been 1-2 today easily.” Johnson added.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished third, Matt Kenseth fourth and Martin Truex Jr. finished fifth.

“The No. 15 dove to the bottom and it’s his right. He was doing what he wanted to do to try and win the race. It’s a green-white-checkered and that’s what you’re going to get here. So I think Clint did what he had to do. It just caused a little bit of trouble on the outside down there and we ran into the No. 24. But I just don’t know what the No.10 was thinking with a broken sway bar and driving around there at 15 mph for two or three laps. Come on pit road; hell, how many laps down are you? Get on pit road. Get out of the race. It shouldn’t have ended like that. It was unfortunate.” Earnhardt Jr. said.

“Those two guys were on 100-and-some-lap tires, so I knew it wasn’t going to be pretty honestly. I just tried to watch what was going on and I slowed way up for the wreck and I think that’s maybe how AJ got there, but I didn’t want to get caught up in a wreck at the end. I knew they were going to restart it.” Kenseth said.

Greg Biffle finished 13th and holds a six point lead over Earnhardt Jr. in the series standings.

Harvick dominates NCWTS race at Martinsville

[media-credit name=”Barry Albert” align=”alignright” width=”225″][/media-credit]Kevin Harvick dominated Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race by leading a series-record 248 of the 250 laps run at Martinsville Speedway.

“Nine times out of 10, when you have trucks like this, or cars, and you have a day like that where you think you’re by far the fastest, usually they never work out. So today was a special day to win the pole, lead the most laps and win the race.” Harvick said.

This was the first victory in the NCWTS for team owner Richard Childress.

Teammate Ty Dillon finished second in just his fourth start.

“I think our truck was just as good. That’s just Harvick. He’s been in a lot of races here, won a lot of races. Second place in my first start at Martinsville. I’ll take it.” Dillon said.

James Buescher finished third, Justin Lofton fourth and Timothy Peters finished fifth.

John King finished ninth and holds a one point lead in the series standings over Timothy Peters and Justin Lofton.

NOTES FROM THE NASCAR NATION: PRE DAYTONA DEALS FOR WHEELS BY DAVE GRAYSON

As we move closer to green flag time for the February 26th Daytona 500, and the start of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, there are still deals being made during the final days. To no surprise, a lot of corporations wants to see their logo on the hood of a car during Daytona Speedweeks. The really bright spot here lies in the fact that some of these eleventh hour deals are for the entire season.

TERIYAKI SANDWICHES FOR ALL MY FRIENDS.

Seemingly convinced that Carl Edwards is going to be the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion, the Subway Restaurant Chain recently announced that they have expanded their partnership with the driver and Roush Fenway Racing. They have expanded their primary sponsorship role from three races, in 2011, to six races this year. They have also signed on as an associate sponsor for an additional four events this year. The company’s logo will appear on the hood of Edwards’ #99 Ford for the first time on March 4th for the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at the Phoenix International Raceway.

There is already a new Subway advertising campaign, featuring Edwards, on the way with the first ad scheduled to appear during the Daytona 500 broadcast. Also, Subway franchises will be proclaimed as being “the official training restaurant of Carl Edwards and Roush Fenway Racing.

This announcement also means that Edwards will be eating a lot of sweet onion chicken teriyaki sandwiches this year which happens to be his favorite Subway menu item.

TWO SETS OF PIT CREWS MAY BE JUMPING OFF OF THE WALL A LITTLE FASTER

Front Row Motorsports announced a new sponsorship deal with Maximum Human Performance, (MHP), a New Jersey based firm who specializes in sports supplements. Making their first venture into NASCAR racing, MHP will be a primary sponsor fro FRM teams in both 2012 and 2013. The program begins with sponsorship for driver David Gilliland and his team during the upcoming Budweiser Shootout and Daytona 500.

In addition to being official sponsors of FRM’s #34 and #38 teams, MHP experts will work with the team’s pit crew coach and trainers to develop nutritional and fitness plans to improve and maximize the speed and performance of the team’s over the wall crews.

In still more good news for driver David Gilliland, FRM recently announced that veteran crew chief Pat Tryson will be overseeing the team this year. Tryson brings 15 years of experience to the top of the team’s pit box. The move also allows interim crew chief Derrick Finley to return to his duties as Director of Competition.

WHO NEEDS A RACE TRACK WHEN YOU’RE SO FAST OFF THE ROAD?

Over the years there has been a sense of bewilderment regarding driver Robby Gordon’s Sprint Cup efforts. It just seemed that his race team has been frequently hampered by the struggles that comes with bad luck. However, place Robby Gordon in no man’s land, behind the wheel of an off road vehicle. and it’s a completely different story.

Gordon started off his 2012 off road racing schedule with success in the rugged Dakar Rally. Then, recently, he scorched the competition in Parker-Arizona by easily winning the Best Of The Desert Parker 425. He finished the rugged event a full five minutes ahead of his nearest competitor and also finishes 14 minutes ahead of last year’s winning margin. Also of interest here was the vehicle Gordon was driving in the Parker event. It was his first venture in a “Truggy” which is hybrid between a full size trophy truck and a class one race buggy.

Gordon will be spending the weekend of February 10th taking on a new off road racing challenge: rock climbing. Gordon is entered in the 2012 King Of The Hammers Race to be held in Johnson Valley, CA.

Regarding NASCAR Sprint Cup activities, Robby Gordon Motorsports, and his SPEED Energy team, are entered in this year’s Daytona 500. However, there are no announced plans for the team beyond that point.

NOTEWORTHY ADDITIONS FROM THE ALL KNOWING, ALL POWERFUL, ONE EYED GOD IN YOUR LIVING ROOMS.

That, of course, would be your television sets. The ESPN2 Network recently announced that their popular program “NASCAR Now” will be returning for its sixth season beginning February 13th. The program will air Monday through Friday beginning at 3 pm eastern time. There will also be the weekend edition aired on the morning of each Sprint Cup event. Mike Masarro will be the primary host of “NASCAR Now” with ongoing hosts Allen Bestwick, Nicole Briscoe, Marty Reid and Shannon Spake.

In a surprising move, ESPN2 also announced that Sprint Cup driver A J Allmendinger will be joining the “NASCAR Now” weekend edition team hosting a segment titled “The Daily Dinger” featuring offbeat interviews with drivers, crew chiefs and fans.

The SPEED Channel recently announced that former NASCAR Sprint driver Ricky Rudd will join their “SPEED Center” program as an analyst. Rudd, with 23 Cup wins, is listed on NASCAR’s 50 All Time Greatest Drivers list. As both a former driver and a team owner he should be a lot of expertise to the “SPEED Center” table.

Also joining the “SPEED Center” team will be former Miss Sprint Cup Monica Palumbo who will present a social media report based on updates from “Facebook”, “Twitter,” and “You Tube.”

    SPEAKING OF THE SOCIAL NETWORKS.

The “Twitter” message of the week belongs to SPEED Channel analyst Bob Dillner who apparently was feeling pressurized by a Las Vegas based real estate company. In a recent “Tweet”, Dillner wrote: “Dear everyone in Las Vegas. If I want a damn time share I will call you. Now, please leave me alone.”

BEST INTERVIEW ONE LINER OF THE WEEK.

That honor goes to the always fun DeLana Harvick. During an appearance on the NASCAR radio channel’s “Sirius Speedway”, hosted by Dave Moody, the conversation centered around the fact that DeLana and Kevin Harvick are currently expecting their first child. When asked the question regarding those who might be tempted to touch the baby bump, Harvick immediately replied “I’m prepared to ninja chop anyone who even looks like they’re going to try to touch my stomach.”
