  • How To Unwind After Race Day

How To Unwind After Race Day

A day of the races can feel like an all-systems-go! Stretch of demanding hours, and only once the day finally draws to a close is it then high time to begin relaxing and settling down for a well-deserved rest. It will likely have been an exhaustingly long day full of nerves, jitters, and excitement, so the sooner to bed, the better. How you choose to relax can differ from day to day, and race to race, and sometimes you’ll have to strike a balance between a combination of methods in order to properly de-stress and let loose of your accumulated strain.

Chill Out In The Fresh Air

Once you’ve allowed your heart rate to return to a relaxed and healthy rhythm, you should try and expel the pent-up tension and worry from your body by taking the time to do, well, nothing – to simply lay down and empty your mind of thoughts and concerns. Pull up a comfortable chair outside in the fresh air, and reflect on the day that’s just past before you. Consider taking a glass of wine with you along with your vape pen if you’re inclined to calm down with the help of an e-cigarette. Visit redjuice.co.uk to explore new flavors and modifications.

    Listen To Music

As soon as you’re ready to put your phone and other technological devices down, it’s time to begin relaxing and allowing waves of calm and serenity to wash over you after an intense day of inevitable ups and downs. You can take time out to process the adrenaline of the day by listening to music, or by downloading a compilation album of your favorite artist. If you’re struggling to find the ideal music to listen to, then why not try listening to online hypnosis sessions, ASMR videos, or softly spoken podcasts, for example.

    Get A Massage

After a long day of getting tense and excited on what can seem like a continuous loop. Consider scheduling a massage that uses private label massage oil into your evening plans as this type of oil is known for its relaxing properties to combat muscle pain and inflammation. Though a normal massage can be just as beneficial. This is because when your body is under strain, lactic acid can build up and form in your muscles and other body tissues, so it’s a good idea to have them massaged. This subsequently encourages the acid along with other waste products to be expelled from your body.

    Enjoy A Bath

You might be surprised to know that both warm and cold baths have their benefits, so assess your aches and pains, and make a decision. If you’ve been busy racing outside in sweltering heat and sweating under thick layers of protective clothing and a helmet, then the idea of a cold bath, even an ice bath, may well sound thoroughly appealing. If not, then settle yourself into a warm bubble bath with a few drops of aromatherapy oils such as lavender, sandalwood, and tea tree oil.

    Focus On Your Breathing

It’s normal to feel some post-race apprehension and heightened emotion, however, when it begins to get later into the day/evening, it’s then important to allow your brain and body to wind down and experience some peace and quiet. If an anxious episode doesn’t seem to show signs of dissipating, then try to regulate your breathing and heart rate by focusing on  inhaling air and then exhaling it slowly and steadily.

DJ Kennington managed a solid sixth finish, while LP Dumoulin managed a great come back from a flat tire and a restart penalty for jumping the start to finish seventh.

Toyota Finally Manages a Win at Le Mans 2018

Toyota finally manages a win, after trying for decades and getting so close, they have finally managed a win. Toyota now joins Mazda as the second Japanese car manufacturer to win at Le Mans.

The crew of the No. 8 TS050 Hybrid, Kazuki Nakajima, Sebastian Buemi and Fernando Alonso, had a near perfect run from the start of the race. The Toyota completed 388 laps over the course of the race, and finished a lap clear of the rest of the field. The entire team of drivers offered flawless driving, pushed hard and kept their cool under the pressures of the race – and pulled together to score a well deserved win.

Le Mans is the world’s oldest endurance car race and started in 1923, held annually near the town of Le Mans, France. The race is one of the most prestigious car races in the world and is one leg of the Triple Crown of motorsport, the other two being the Monaco Grand Prix and the Indianapolis 500.

Though the race this year was thrilling and well done, Toyota could have used a bit more competition, as the fellow racers dropped like flies due to mechanical issues. Leaving spectators to hope for misfortune to befall the leaders of the race in order to get a bit more excitement out of the race. Try out some online betting NZ sites on offer, to get the best betting options for these races.

    The Record Breakers

The news that Toyota pulled off an actual win is headline making enough but if you include Fernando Alonso – who is making his dream attempt at winning the triple crown, the stories just write themselves.

Alonso’s attempt at the Triple Crown, would be a career dream and he is now one race away (the Indianapolis 500) from gaining his dream. Alonso’s strong performance during his night shift at the wheel helped erase the 2 minute deficit gained when Buemi was penalised for speed in a designated slow zone.

Kazuki Nakajima also made history by becoming only the third Japanese driver to win at Le Mans in its history, the first being Masanori Sekiya in 1994 and then Seiji Ara in 2004.

Alonso is the second ever Spaniard to finish first while Buemi is only the fifth ever Swiss driver to win.

    The Runner Ups

The Toyotas Sister car number 7, also had a great run but the team of Mike Conway, Jose Maria Lopez and Kamui Kobayashi could not out do the number 8 team, and faded away towards the end of the lead lap. But a second place is still great, although it does mean that Toyota has placed 2nd six times at Le Mans.

Finishing in third place was the number 3 car, Rebellion Racing R-13 made up of drivers Gustavo Menezes, Thomas Laurent and Mathias Beche. This team was jubilant to place third, ahead of their fellow 8 privateer cars. R-13 hit a few issues in their race, nothing major but still making a third place win a remarkable feat.

  • Iowa 250 win for Justin Allgaier

Iowa 250 win for Justin Allgaier

    Iowa 250 win for Allgaier

Justin Allgaier won the day at the Iowa 250, holding off the challenger Christopher Bell to ensure a series win for Allgaier. Allgaier managed to win all three stages of the day to win his second NASCAR Xfinity Series victory this year, he dominated the match today, sweeping to victory at each stage.

Allgaier was challenged at each stage of the race, from chasing pole sitter Austin Cindric in stage one, to battling Daniel Hemric ins stage two, to finally having repeated battles for pole with Christopher Bell in the third and final stage. Allgaier was driving the no 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet, and making a fine showing on the day.

This would be Allgaiers 7th win in the Xfinity Series, he has now got eight points, seven from this day (his penalties lowering his points from his Dover win).

Allgaier was clearly excited about winning the Iowa 250, resented by Enogen – especially on fathers day, and celebrated his win with his little girl, daughter Harper Grace who is only four years old.

    The Challengers

Christopher Bell was the main challenger throughout the final stage, making an amazing trip through the ranks from number 39 spot to being in the top 10 by lap 28. Challenging Allgaier was Bells main goal, and though he and his team had a great car – it just didn’t have that little bit extra needed to beat Allgaier and his team.

Daniel Hemric, Cole Custer and Brandon Jones came third, fourth and fifth, closing the points gap with leader Elliott Sadler, who had made contact with the wall towards the end of stage one. This forced Sadler down the pit road and left him several laps down, and led to his 28th place finish – not a contender for the day and probably wishing he was in a stronger, more powerful car.

With the rest of the top ten being Riley Herbst in the No 18 JGR Toyota placing 6th, in his first NASCAR national series start. Ty Majeski came 7th, in a career best finish, the final three in the top ten were Tyler Reddick, Matt Tifft and Kaz Grala.

Though Cindric earned his first pole position in the NASCAR series and did manage to lead the first 58 laps of the race, he only managed to finish 11th in the race. Justin Haley finished in position 12, debuting in the no 23 GMS Racing Chevrolet.

    Upcoming Events

  • Top Five Advantages of Buying a Used car for Racing

Top Five Advantages of Buying a Used car for Racing

Racing can be an extremely expensive sport especially if you’re in it professionally. You need the best of the best to participate in this illustrious sport. However, the best doesn’t necessarily mean brand new. Some used cars for sale such as Mustangs, BMW 3-Series, Porsche 944, Camaros, and Porsche Boasters are very popular as racing cars. If you’ve been a fan of racing and you’ve watched Formula One events with a ferocity that can only be matched by the cars on that race track, you probably want to try your hand at racing. You want to be the next Lewis Hamilton, racing down the track at insane speeds.

Now that you have decided to make your dreams a reality by joining the race, the next question would be how? Usually, when a brand new racer wants to start racing they don’t start at the Grand Prix. There are amateur road course races organized by the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). These races are for people just starting out. One such category is Improved Touring, where cars within the same classification will race together. In this category, you are able to refurbish almost everything concerning the interior of your car.

Although you are not allowed to change or tamper with your internal engine unit that will go against the factory’s blueprint, you are allowed to brush it up till it reaches the specs of the factory’s blueprint. Another option would be entering Amateur Drag Racing competitions. These competitions are organized locally. If you want to participate in racing but you’re not sure you can stomach driving that fast, the 24 hours of Lemons is a great choice for you since it’s a test of endurance not necessarily speed. As long as you have a car that cost less than 500 dollars before modifications and safety gadgets, 24 hours of Lemons is open to you.

It is possible for you to participate in these competitions with your normal day-to-day car. However, due to the fact that racing is rough, it is preferable to buy a used car. Why a used car? Here are five reasons to convince you:

    1. Affordability – Used cars are a popular first choice because they’re affordable both on and off the track. Getting a used race car is the best choice for first-timers as well as old-timers because it doesn’t cost as much as a brand-new race car. It will still be a bit expensive if you’re going for an actual race car. However, in terms of racing, used cars are a great bargain. Junior Johnson said “How do you make a small fortune in racing? By starting with a large one.” Due to its affordability, it won’t be hard dealing with a scratch and a dent or two as opposed to how you’d react if your brand-new race car got a scratch. Racing is a very dangerous sport, and this is well known, so when branching into racing you don’t want to start with something particularly expensive. You want to start with something that can stomach some banging around. This doesn’t necessarily mean that your race car will look shabby and ancient. You can always spruce it up with personalized designs. Your very own trademark. With a new paint job, your race car will look shiny and new. Before you know it you’re ready to hit the tracks.
    2. Freedom of Choice – Buying a used car in San Diego gives you the option of sifting through a wide array of cars. You could see old cars that were driven a while ago. Perhaps the same sort of car your dad’s favorite racer drove. Used car shops often have a lot of different brands. This gives you a chance to thoroughly and freely make your choice without being influenced by price. The bigger the dealer the more brands to choose from. You could get a classic race car or a relatively modern one. This is one of the advantages of purchasing a used car.
    3. Remodeling – When using a car for racing you will have to tinker about with the specs of the car. You will have to buy mufflers, increase the speed and the likes. You do not want to make these huge modifications on your usual car. These mods might not sit well on the city streets. A used car would give you leave to spruce up the engine and tear apart the interiors to your hearts’ content.
    4. Annual Registration Fees – At the end of the year you have to register your car and this can be rather expensive. The rate at which you’ll pay will be derived from the cost of your car as well as its year of manufacture. In a sport like racing, you’d be better off spending your extra cash improving and tweaking the modifications of your car. A used car will attract a lower rate. This will save you quite some money.
    5. Thorough Inspections – When purchasing a used car from a shop there is a high possibility that this car has been inspected and certified as fit for the road. Due to the misconceptions about used cars, the dealers take extra care to make sure that the car is of optimum quality. These cars have been certified by professionals so you have no doubt that they’re good to go. This is done in order to preserve the credibility of the dealer.

Racing needs a car that can stand some rough handling and a few hits. A car that you can tweak and modify. Using new cars for racing is a risk that is both unnecessary and expensive. With used cars, you are free to take liberties, unlike new cars that will lose their warranty once tampered with. Races that involve extreme situations like Rolly racing and the very popular Derby Demolition. If you’re looking for a great place to buy a used car, check out www.goautocity.com. With a stunning track record that earned them the 2017 and 2018 dealer of the year award, you’re assured of credibility and great cars.

  • Beginner’s Guidelines To Successful Sports Betting

Beginner’s Guidelines To Successful Sports Betting

Sports are well-known and much-loved in different countries because it shows that human ability doesn’t have boundaries. It’s also something that makes people unite with each other. Even countries become united once they watch a favorite sport. The activities have encouraged a lot of other related activities and stuff. In some areas, apart from being avid fans, there’s also the culture of sports betting. Most people have different reasons why they have decided to be involved in this. But mostly, you’ll hear that it makes the game even more exciting.

Why are you doing sports betting?

First, you need to figure out the purpose why you want to do this. For some, the most common reason is increasing the excitement. And they also want to show their support to their team. This means that you have faith they will win for the fans that are believing in them. There can be differences in terms of the purpose, but the goal stays the same. When you’re betting for fun, it won’t be that hard if you lose. You’ll feel the loss of your team more.

But there are others with a different type of intention why they started betting.

If you’re there for the money…

You’ll be playing by different rules if that’s the case. Most people want to start betting but they’re dedicated to the sport and to the teams they’ve decided to favor. If you want to earn, you must learn the right tips.

    • It’ll take experience. You’ll have to experience a few losses before you get the grasp of what it means to be actually playing this game. And you must note your platform for betting. There are differences when it comes to actual betting and the online platform. Such differences can be a big thing for your success.
    • Don’t get emotional or attached. This means that you won’t be favoring any type of teams. So you can forget about favoring any group because your favorite player is there. When this happens, your judgment will be clouded and you won’t choose the best one.
    • Don’t bet on all options. If this happens, what you’ve earned will just be equal to what you’ve spent. And that’s not exactly something that will yield any type of profit. Evaluate the different choices for teams and consider their standing. There’s a need to study the players and analyze their ability. It’s also necessary to be specific about the analysis for every match. For this specific need, you must be aware of the different rules and the present game plays.

    A trusted site is imperative

Tembak Ikan is an example of a good site to start with. Most beginners are tricked into different sites and they endanger themselves and their money in the process. While actual betting has certain risks, you’ll have to deal with an entirely different type of threat. And you must be prepared for this. Choosing the right online site is not just a precaution. It’ll guarantee that you can play without any difficulties and be more comfortable with your plays.

  • 4 Essential Pieces Of Track Day Equipment

4 Essential Pieces Of Track Day Equipment

Track days are the ideal way to discover more about the performance potential of your car without falling foul of the law – this is a legal and exciting way to enjoy speed and performance with other motor enthusiasts in a regulated space. That makes it safer, less risky, and generally more enjoyable. Once you try it it’s likely you’ll want to do it again and again; it can really become a hobby that gives people an immense amount of joy in their lives.

If you are planning to go to a track day and drive, there are some essential pieces of equipment that you will need to take with you, and it is worth investing in high-quality equipment too because as exhilarating and exciting as a track day is, it is also hard on the car itself. The better the equipment you buy, the less chance there is of having to buy it again because it broke or was damaged.

So what are these essential pieces of crucial equipment that you’ll need to get your track days off to a great start? Here is a rundown of the most important; as you progress, you’ll work out what else you need, but for now, these are the basics.

    GPS

A good GPS system may not immediately spring to mind when it comes to track days (after all, you’re just driving around a pre-determined racing track; you don’t need to necessarily know where you are going), but it can be extremely useful. Some tracks are located in remote areas which are not easy to find. This is so that everyone can enjoy themselves without the residents of the local area getting tired of the noise and the number of people showing up.

Enjoying the track is one thing, getting there is something entirely different. Investing in a high-quality GPS system will help you find where you need to go. You may also want to find a good GPS tracker too – your vehicle is going to be essential to making you happy if track days are your new hobby, and if it were to be stolen, you would want to know exactly where it is, so you could get it back. You can learn more here.

    Helmet

Safety must always be the priority when it comes to any kind of track day racing and speed. One wrong turn, getting caught up in a skid, or finding that you’re too close to another driver or even the edge of the road can all cause accidents, and at the speeds, you’ll be traveling they can have pretty dire consequences. That’s why a helmet is essential. It’s true that we don’t drive around the streets wearing a helmet (although who knows where the law will take us in the future!), but this is different – there is much more potential for danger.

Some track day clubs will have helmets that you can borrow, and if it’s your first time trying this adventure out then you might want to consider doing this, but they aren’t always the most pleasant of additions to borrow because so many other people have used them and they may not have been cleaned that well – they tend to make people sweat, so you can imagine that they are not the nicest of items.

When you do buy your first helmet, you will need to ensure that it has the right certification. This will vary depending on what club you are attending, so check first once you have found the club that suits you and get the right helmet. When it comes to budget, spend as much as you can – the helmet is potentially going to save your life, or at least stop you from having a life-changing injury; it is definitely worth every cent.

    Track Tires

It is entirely possible to use standard street tires on your car during a track day, and it can certainly be interesting to see just what your car can do when it has limits imposed on it, which is what these standard tires will do. However, there could be a problem – what if one or more of your tires was damaged because track days are not what they are made for? If you push too hard on these street tires, they can easily burst or be shredded, and if you have a long drive home, you would be stuck without tires to get back on.

This is one of the reasons why special track tires are often used on track days. They will mean that you can really see what your car can do without holding back because you’re worried about damaging your tires. It means you have more freedom, can go faster, and can generally relax a little more.

Of course, getting four extra tires to the track is something you will need to consider, and how you do this will depend somewhat on the vehicle you have. If they can fit in the trunk, then that is your problem solved, but if not, you may also need to invest in a trailer. These can be hired when you need them, but it may be cheaper in the long term to buy one; it will depend on how often you want to attend track days.

    Tools

When you are testing your car to its limits, you are going to need tools to ensure that everything is okay once you’re done (or even before you start). For example, you will possibly need to change your brake pads, so you’ll need a good set of sockets and wrenches to get the job done. You will also need to switch your tires over if you’re using track tires, so you’ll need a wrench and jack. It’s important to check that your wheels are properly torqued. They shouldn’t be done up too tightly or too loosely, as both of these will cause potential issues and damage on the track, so the lug nuts need to be checked before you start driving.

A tire pressure gauge is another useful piece of equipment. The weather, road conditions, temperature, and the way you are driving will all have an impact on the pressures in your tires, and you need to keep on top of this, adjusting the pressure as you go through the day to ensure it is always optimum.

Add to this a good tool bag which includes work gloves and overalls, and you should be prepared for anything that happens. Of course, just having the equipment doesn’t mean you know how to use it, but this is where research and studying will help you – plus there will always be someone at the track who can give you advice when you need it.

  • OPINION: Why is NASCAR so boring on TV?

OPINION: Why is NASCAR so boring on TV?

Earlier today I watched an Indy Lights race on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that had only seven starters, and it was one of the most exciting races I’ve seen in some time.

While there were indeed some good on-track battles that made it exciting, something occurred to me. It was the announcers that made it exciting.

The announcers were the speedway’s RADIO announcers, and because they were, they are used to painting the picture for the audience. In other words, they CALLED THE RACE, unlike NASCAR’s TV announcers who rarely call the on-track action.

These TV folks are too busy spouting stats and analyzing things to actually call the race. They show very little emotion or excitement about what’s actually happening on the track.

If NASCAR wants to increase TV viewership they need to amp things up a few notches.

Even if someone was holding a gun to my head I couldn’t tell you the names of the two guys who called today’s race at IMS, but who really cares about names? TV obviously does, and therein lies the rub.

The TV networks are relying on star power instead of having people who can paint the picture of the race.

Change THAT, and the excitement comes back to the sport.

When you’re attending a race in person, all five senses are involved. NASCAR needs to come to the realization that when a fan is watching on TV, there is only sight and sound.

Today I was glued to a SEVEN car race on a big road course, tonight I’m getting bored watching a FORTY car race on a mid-sized oval.

    Enough said.

How to Build Your Excitement for the Next Big Race

When you are passionate about a sport, it is unlikely that your love for it will ever die down. This is the same for when big races are on the horizon, and when you can root for your favorite race car driver to bring home the title. When other life commitments get in the way, it can be hard to sustain such excitement, which can dampen your mood come the big day. To ensure you remain excited about such a big event, there are many steps you can take to build up your anticipation, and that of your closest friends. If you are struggling to figure out how, there are some handy tips you can follow to prepare you for the next bug race.

    Make an event

Watching any sport is always more exciting when you are with your friends, and this is exceptionally true for Formula 1, Motorcross and Rally racing. You can see them down at your local sports bar, or you can go one step further by making an event that everyone can indulge in. Buying a few drinks and bringing your best speakers to hook up to your television is a great place to start. Once everyone is in the same room, the tension will be palpable, and you can have more fun cheering your favorite racer on or engaging in healthy competition with your friends. To ensure it is a success, you should follow some basic tips for entertaining people in your home.

    Place a bet

When you are rooting for someone you have supported since day one, the stakes will already be high enough to cause huge levels of happiness if they win. To raise the stakes even higher, you should consider placing a bet using a trusted online company such as Unibet, where you can play alongside other sports like football to grow your excitement further. Having something else on the line makes the race more interesting than it already is, and it will also be a bonus if you win big.

    Focus on having fun

This may sound obvious, but many people let their competitive edge get in the way of them having a good time watching a race. This means that if their favored driver loses, they can become snappy and down, which can make feeling excited for the next big race a difficult task. Once you let go of the possible results of the race and focus on the positive excitement you are feeling, you can continue this long after the race has finished and have a great day.

    Go to watch the race

There are few things better than watching a race with your closest friends and seeing it all play out on your screen, but the only thing inarguably better is going to see the race in person. This may be a long way from home, but you can always make a trip of it to see the local area, which can stir up more excitement. When you are looking forward to being immersed in the crowds, with the racers not far away, this gives you a hopeful anticipation unlike any other.
