  • More North Carolina Sports Betting Deals Struck as Launch Nears

More North Carolina Sports Betting Deals Struck as Launch Nears

Two more partnerships that will provide access for online sports betting operators in North Carolina were publicized on Friday morning. This brings the total number of such deals made known to the public up to six so far.

Global gaming giant DraftKings revealed an agreement with NASCAR, the governing body for stock car racing in North America. Meanwhile, BetMGM North Carolina, a joint venture between casino operator MGM Resorts International and European gaming company Entain, inked an arrangement with Charlotte Motor Speedway. The iconic Charlotte track hosts two major NASCAR Cup Series events each year – the Coca-Cola 600 in May and the Bank of America ROVAL 400 in October.

Both partnerships are contingent on DraftKings and BetMGM receiving sports betting license approvals from the North Carolina State Lottery Commission. The two companies were among seven total applicants that submitted completed license applications to the Commission by the recommended deadline of December 27.

    Green Flag Date Still Undetermined

Operators that filed by that date may be approved in time to commence online sports betting operations on the launch date for North Carolina sports betting, whenever that may be. While an exact “green flag” date has not yet been set, lottery officials did release guidelines on Thursday that will dictate requirements for sportsbook operators to meet before taking the first online wagers.

So while North Carolina residents eagerly await the start of legal sports betting in their state, the gears continue turning behind the scenes as more prospective operators reveal deals with teams and venues that will give them the required access.

    NASCAR Deal Continues DraftKings’ Expansion

Besides granting DraftKings the ability to offer online sports wagering in North Carolina, the NASCAR partnership also makes the Boston-based company the exclusive daily fantasy sports partner of the racing organization across the United States and Canada. DraftKings will also join NASCAR’s list of authorized gaming operators moving forward.

“DraftKings has a proven track record of enhancing the fan experience across sports,” said Joe Solosky, NASCAR’s Managing Director of Sports Betting. “We are thrilled to continue working with DraftKings to deliver NASCAR fans more engagement opportunities and bring its leading mobile sportsbook to North Carolina.”

The deal furthers DraftKings’ expansion in the rapidly growing U.S. sports betting industry. The company already operates mobile sportsbooks in 18 jurisdictions nationally.

BetMGM Deal Brings Sportsbook to Iconic Charlotte Oval

Charlotte Motor Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Greg Walter called BetMGM “a signature source for sports betting” that has successfully partnered with other top-tier professional sports leagues.

He went on to explain the legendary racetrack’s desire to stay at the forefront of sports entertainment innovations by collaborating with a prominent sports betting operator.

“With Charlotte Motor Speedway’s history of innovation, we wanted to move forward into this new era of sports entertainment with a progressive sportsbook,” Walter commented. “This partnership with BetMGM will bring sports fans new ways to enjoy their favorite events while expanding North Carolina’s tax base, supporting colleges and facilitating recruitment of major events for the future.”

So through the BetMGM deal, “The Beast of the Southeast” Charlotte Motor Speedway becomes the latest NASCAR venue to welcome legal sports gambling.

Which Teams and Tracks Remain Up for Grabs?

North Carolina legislators passed a bill to legalize online and retail sports betting in July 2021. Then in October, they amended the law to require operators to establish official partnerships with professional sports teams, golf courses, race tracks, or governing bodies.

The amendment mandated that operators lock down deals with at least one of the following:

    • A professional sports team based in North Carolina
    • A golf course located in North Carolina that hosts a PGA Tour event every year
    • The PGA Tour itself
    • Charlotte Motor Speedway, North Wilkesboro Speedway, or another NASCAR track in North Carolina
    • NASCAR

Some companies vying for one of the limited sports betting licenses blasted this provision. They referred to it as an unnecessary “barrier to entry” since venues and leagues could demand millions of dollars from prospective bookmakers.

But so far at least six operators have decided the revenue potential makes it worthwhile to pony up for an official partnership. Previous arrangements became public between:

    • bet365 and the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets
    • FanDuel and the PGA Tour
    • Fanatics and the NFL’s Carolina Panthers
    • ESPN’s new sportsbook and Quail Hollow Club, home of the annual Wells Fargo Championship golf tournament

The lone remaining applicant that has not yet named its partner is Underdog Sports. Caesars also submitted a license application but already secured market access through a existing agreement with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians tribal casino in western North Carolina.

As for other teams, tracks, and tournament sites that could still grant official access, these include:

    • The Carolina Panthers
    • Charlotte FC of Major League Soccer
    • The National Women’s Soccer League’s North Carolina Courage club
    • North Wilkesboro Speedway
    • Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, which hosts the PGA’s Wyndham Championship each summer

Billionaire David Tepper owns both the Panthers NFL team and Charlotte’s first-year MLS franchise. Meanwhile, Speedway Motorsports owns Charlotte Motor Speedway along with North Wilkesboro Speedway.

The North Carolina Lottery will continue reviewing sports betting license applications submitted by operators beyond the initial December 27 recommendation date. However, no guarantees exist that late applicants will gain approval before the state’s online sportsbooks launch.

So stay tuned as more sports betting partnerships get cemented in the Tar Heel State. It likely won’t be too much longer before North Carolina residents can finally place their first legal wagers!

  • Art of Comparing Online Slots to Free Spins Promotion: 5 Features to Look for and Avoid

Art of Comparing Online Slots to Free Spins Promotion: 5 Features to Look for and Avoid

Online casinos have increased as the demand for platforms to play games grows. However, the large number has heightened competition, hence promotions like free spins to attract new players. Some websites publish content, which comprises online casinos offering promotions to make it easy for players. But there are features you must look for and avoid when selecting online slots to play using the free spins. They are as follows.

    1. Terms and Conditions

It’d be best to start by looking at the terms and conditions of that online casino. Doing so will help you determine the wagering requirements, which are the number of times you must play through the winnings before you can withdraw. You will also learn which online slot you can use for free spins. It’d be best to avoid online casinos with high wagering requirements and limited game selections. This is because it will limit your winning chances.

    1. Validity and Expiry Period

The free spins also come with validity and an expiry period. Therefore, looking for it in the fine print is best. Doing so will help you determine if you will have enough time to use them before they expire. Avoid online casinos with short validity periods, because you will have no time to use them. Instead, compare yourself with others from the list and choose those that give you ample time.

    1. Maximum Win Limit

Online casinos offering these free spins have maximum win limits on the promotions. Although aimed at curbing fraud, it can limit you, and you might feel cheated if you don’t follow the rules. Checking it out would be best. There are absolute maximum win limits, a fixed amount winnable from free spins, and real-time maximum win limits, the maximum you can win from the free spins as a percentage of your bet. Avoid online casinos with the former because it is restrictive.

    1. Reputation and Trustworthiness

Not all online casinos are reputable, as much as they promise free spins. Therefore, ensure that you look for this feature when selecting the platform where you will use the promotion. Doing so is essential for safety and fairness. While at it, read the online casino’s reviews to determine its reputation. Avoid the ones with customer complaints because the same issues may befall you if you play online slots using the free spins on them.

    1. Customer Support and Responsiveness

You should check the customer support team and their responsiveness. This is essential because you might encounter problems when using the free spins on the platform. Avoid online casinos that don’t have a responsive customer support team. You can learn about this feature through reviews. Failure to do so will leave you frustrated when you need help.

The internet is awash with online casinos, hence the need to attract new players through promotions like free spins. However, there are different features and rules for using the promotion to play games like slots. This is why you should look for the features you have read in this article. Doing so will help you make informed decisions.

  • 11 key considerations when buying a new car

11 key considerations when buying a new car

Choosing a new car is a significant decision that involves careful consideration of various factors. Several aspects are crucial in making the right choice, from budget constraints to lifestyle needs. In this article, we will explore the key considerations when buying a vehicle to ensure that your investment aligns with your preferences and requirements. Here are a few factors to consider when purchasing your new car.

    Budget

One of the primary factors that influence car-buying decisions is budget. Before you begin your search, determine how much you are willing to spend on a new car. This will help narrow down your options and save time in the long run. When setting a budget, remember that it is not just the initial cost of the car that matters. You should also consider maintenance and fuel costs, as well as insurance. Remember to factor in additional expenses, such as taxes and registration fees.

    Lifestyle needs

Your lifestyle needs are another crucial aspect to consider when choosing your car. Are you looking for a family-friendly vehicle or one more suited for everyday city driving? Do you need extra cargo space or prefer a compact size? Consider the features important to your daily routine and choose a car that can accommodate them. Fuel efficiency may be a top priority if you have a long commute. If you love outdoor activities, an SUV or truck with towing capacity may be the best option.

    Maintenance

Understand the maintenance requirements and costs associated with the vehicle. “Different cars require different levels of maintenance,” says Marcus Newton, owner and operator of Brisbane Euro Service. “Check the needs of a vehicle before you make your purchase to  avoid unexpected surprises.” Some cars may require more frequent maintenance, which can add up over time. Consider the availability of parts and research nearby service centres to avoid any potential difficulties in the future.

    New or used

Another consideration is whether to purchase a new or used car. Think about the pros and cons of each decision. For example, new cars tend to have the latest features and technology but often come at a higher price. On the other hand, used cars may offer better value for money but could require more diligent research to ensure their condition is satisfactory.

    Fuel efficiency

With environmental consciousness on the rise and fuel costs fluctuating, opting for a fuel-efficient vehicle can save you money in the long run. Look for cars with high kilometre per litre ratings and consider alternative fuel options for efficiency at the pump. Another option is an alternate vehicle, such as a hybrid car. Fuel efficiency may be more important for those who cover many kilometres frequently.

    Safety features

Safety should be a top priority when selecting a new car. Evaluate the car’s safety features, including airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Check crash test ratings from reputable organisations to ensure the car meets safety standards. Consider the need for additional safety features, such as blind-spot detection or lane departure warning systems, as well.

    Technology and connectivity

Modern vehicles come equipped with a range of technological features. This can include infotainment systems, navigation, smartphone connectivity, and advanced driver assistance technologies. Assess which features are essential for you and ensure that your chosen car meets your technological expectations. Remember that these features may come at an additional cost and require ongoing subscriptions or updates.

    Resale value

Many people also wish to consider the resale value of the car they’re purchasing. Some vehicles hold their value better than others. Research depreciation rates and resale values for the specific make and model you’re interested in to make a more informed decision about the long-term financial implications of your purchase. You may also want to consider purchasing extended warranty coverage for added peace of mind and potential cost savings in the future.

    Test drive

A test drive is crucial to experiencing how a car handles, rides, and feels. Pay attention to the comfort, noise levels, visibility, and overall driving experience. This firsthand experience can help you assess whether the car meets your expectations and preferences. It is also essential to test out any specific features or technologies you are interested in, such as the infotainment system or driver assistance systems. Test driving multiple cars can also help you make a more informed decision and determine which car feels best for you.

    Warranty

Review the warranty offered by the manufacturer and any additional warranty options.  A comprehensive warranty can provide peace of mind and protect you from unexpected repair expenses. Consider the length of the warranty and its coverage, including any limitations or exclusions. Also, research the reliability of the specific model to determine if you’d also like to consider extended warranty coverage.

    Reviews and ratings

Research reviews and ratings from both experts and other consumers. Pay attention to feedback regarding reliability, performance, overall satisfaction, and any other important factors. Consider multiple sources to get a well-rounded understanding and avoid relying on one opinion or review. Additionally, read through brand forums or online communities to see what current owners have to say about their experience with the car. This information can offer valuable insights into the real-world ownership experience of the car you are considering.

Buying a new car is a significant investment, and carefully considering key factors can help you make a more informed decision. By aligning your preferences, lifestyle, and budget with the right vehicle, you’re gearing yourself up for success in enjoying a satisfying and reliable driving experience for years to come. Remember to take your time, research thoroughly, and make choices that resonate with your unique needs and priorities.

  • Mazda Accelerates R&D of Rotary Engines Adapted to New Era

Mazda Accelerates R&D of Rotary Engines Adapted to New Era

After almost six years, “RE Development Group” is reborn on February 1, 2024

HIROSHIMA, Japan, Feb 1, 2024 – (JCN Newswire) – Mazda Motor Corporation (Mazda) will accelerate its research and development of rotary engines (RE) that are adapted to the new era in its efforts to continue to deliver the joy of cars through solutions that are appropriate for the times toward the realization of carbon-neutral society.

  • Xpander and Xpander Cross HEV Models Premiere in Thailand, Featuring Safe, Secure and Exhilarating Driving Experience of Electrified Vehicles

Xpander and Xpander Cross HEV Models Premiere in Thailand, Featuring Safe, Secure and Exhilarating Driving Experience of Electrified Vehicles

TOKYO, Feb 1, 2024 – (JCN Newswire) – Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (hereafter, Mitsubishi Motors) announced that new hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) models of the Xpander and Xpander Cross crossover MPVs made their global debut and went on sale in Thailand today. The HEV models are produced at the Laem Chabang Plant of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a local production and sales company in Thailand.

The Xpander is a crossover MPV that combines the comfort and versatility of an MPV with the bold styling and road performance of an SUV. After its debut in Indonesia in 2017, it was subsequently rolled out in the ASEAN region, Latin America, the Middle East, and other markets, with the Xpander Cross added in 2019 as the top variant of the series. Driving the growth of the company as a global strategic model, the Xpander series sold over 130,000 units1 globally in fiscal year 2022, which was third-highest of all Mitsubishi models behind the Triton2 and Outlander.

The newly-added HEV models combine Mitsubishi Motors’ trademark electrification and all-wheel control technologies to raise the appeal of the Xpander series to another level. Newly developed based on the brand’s plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), the HEV system delivers an eco-friendly and exhilarating driving experience unique to electrified vehicles. In addition, Active Yaw Control and other all-wheel control technologies complement the two-wheel drivetrain to enable safe, secure driving at will, and a variety of drive modes provide optimal driving on any road surface and in any weather condition. Moreover, drivers can actively choose EV driving according to the situation, such as driving in quiet residential areas early in the morning.

Key product features are as follows:

    • An eco-friendly, exhilarating and powerful motor drive made possible by an HEV system derived from PHEVs
    • Seven newly developed drive modes for EV driving at will and for safe, secure road performance in various weather and road conditions
    • An even more comfortable cabin space for driving with family and friends, plus a dedicated exterior accent for a distinctive look

    Product overview(3)

An eco-friendly, exhilarating and powerful motor drive made possible by an HEV system derived from PHEVs

The newly developed HEV system features EV driving, hybrid driving and regenerative braking. High fuel efficiency and a powerful, exhilarating motor drive are achieved by having the system automatically switch to the optimal driving mode according to the driving conditions and remaining drive battery.

When starting and driving at low speeds, the vehicle is powered by the motor using electricity from the drive battery alone for EV driving (Figure 1). The system switches to hybrid driving when driving uphill or accelerating to run using the motor with electricity generated by the engine as well as power from the drive battery (Figure 2). Hybrid driving also kicks in when driving at high speeds to run using the engine with assistance from the motor (Figure 3). Because the engine starts smoothly, drivers can enjoy the smooth, comfortable ride of motor drive even during hybrid driving. During deceleration, kinetic energy is recovered from regenerative braking and converted into electric power, which is then stored in the drive battery (Figure 4). This HEV system derived from PHEVs is what made it possible to deliver both the quiet, clean ride of an EV with no fuel consumption or CO2 emissions, and the convenient, comfortable ride of an HEV for enjoying long drives without concerns about remaining battery.

The new HEV system delivers the smooth yet powerful acceleration with good response that is characteristic of an electrified vehicle. A generator and a motor with a maximum output of 85 kW are combined with a 1.6 L gasoline engine, along with a dedicated drive battery developed particularly for these models. Thanks to the powerful electric motor and battery output, torque kicks in swiftly when starting and the acceleration has good response when stepping on the pedal, thereby helping drivers smoothly change lanes on highways and merge after U-turns on city streets.

The newly developed 1.6 L DOHC 16-valve MIVEC4 engine adopts a high expansion ratio cycle (Atkinson cycle) to achieve a higher level of combustion efficiency while also incorporating the first electric water pump ever used in a Mitsubishi Motors engine to reduce mechanical loss. This improves the stand-alone fuel economy of the engine by around 10% compared to the gasoline engine CVT model while also improving the fuel consumption by approximately 34% in urban driving in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) test procedure, and approximately 15% in urban and extra-urban driving combined.

Seven newly developed drive modes for EV driving at will and for safe, secure road performance in various weather and road conditions

The seven newly developed drive modes comprise two modes for EV driving and five modes for optimal drive control according to road conditions.

Two drive modes are provided for drivers to be able to choose EV driving at will, according to the situation. EV Priority mode drives the motor on power from the battery without activating the engine. Since this mode is highly quiet in addition to being eco-friendly, it frees drivers from concerns about their surroundings when driving in environments such as residential areas early in the morning. If remaining battery is low, switching to Charge mode enables charging so that EV driving can be enjoyed again.

The other five drive modes deliver optimal handling and driving force according to road conditions. Based on a front, two-wheel drive system, various controls are integrated together – the Active Yaw Control (AYC), which controls the braking force between the left and right front wheels; traction control, which controls driving force when front wheel slippage is detected; acceleration control, which adjusts the output of the motors and engine during acceleration; and steering control, which adjusts steering response according to the speed range and road conditions.

Normal mode is well-balanced for everyday driving, Tarmac mode offers nimble driving and precise handling on winding roads, Gravel mode reduces skidding and delivers secure handling on unpaved roads, Mud mode achieves powerful road handling even on muddy, rough roads, and Wet mode reduces tire slippage and provides high stability even in heavy rains. Together, these modes achieve safe, secure road performance in various types of weather and road conditions for daily driving.

The interior features an 8-inch color liquid crystal display (LCD) meter, with a variety of information displayed on the screen for even greater ease of use. Information particular to an HEV is shown, such as the power meter that indicates Eco, Power, and Charge statuses in sync with accelerator control, in addition to energy flow, EV driving efficiency and remaining battery. When switching drive modes, the selected mode is shown as a graphic in the center of the display to make it more intuitively easy to select between drive modes even while driving. According to preferences, the screen can either be set to enhanced mode with an advanced feel, or to classic mode which replicates an analog gauge configuration.

An even more comfortable cabin space for driving with family and friends, plus a dedicated exterior accent for a distinctive look

The Xpander and Xpander Cross HEV models deliver powerful, quiet motor drive thanks to the HEV system that prioritizes EV driving. Also, sound absorbing and soundproofing materials have been added to key locations on the vehicle to keep the interior quiet not only during EV driving but also when the engine activates during acceleration or when driving at high speeds, allowing for conversations to continue stress-free in the passenger cabin.

To accommodate the HEV system, the drive battery has been positioned under the floor of the front seats, thereby maintaining the Xpander series’ top-class, three-row interior space that is roomy enough for seven passengers, despite its body size that is easy to maneuver in city driving. The flooring of the engine compartment and around the battery has been changed, and the battery has been enclosed by front side members and front crossmember for protection, resulting in the improvement of body rigidity. Along with a special tuning of the suspension, these measures contribute to achieving outstanding steering stability and excellent ride comfort.

The exterior features “HEV” badges on the front grille and liftgate, plus “HYBRID EV” badges on the front doors, while blue accent color has been added to the lower part of the front side as well as the side garnishes, rear bumper, and wheels. White Diamond was newly added as a body color to express the clean character of an electrified vehicle with its rigid yet luminous and vivid color, joining Blade Silver Metallic, Graphite Gray Metallic and Jet Black Mica in the lineup of color options. For the Xpander Cross HEV model, Green Bronze Metallic is also available.

    1. Total combined units sold of the Xpander and Xpander Cross
    2. Sold as the L200 in some countries and regions
    3. Thailand specifications. Vehicle specifications and features may vary depending on model and/or market.
    4. MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system) is a term for Mitsubishi Motors’ variable valve timing mechanism.

  • From taking flight with aviator games to auto racing: Casino gaming analogies

From taking flight with aviator games to auto racing: Casino gaming analogies

Gazing up into the endless blue sky, it’s impossible not to feel a sense of freedom and possibility. It’s that same rush of adrenaline that spills over into the realm of online betting, where aviation-themed games are taking flight. There’s a particular aviator-themed game that taps into that soaring sensation, making it become a go-to for risk-takers and speed enthusiasts.

So, what makes games like Aviator take off? Perhaps it’s the familiar lure of an endless horizon, the excitement of being in the pilot’s seat, or chasing the same in car racing when the car in the lead crosses the finish line ahead of the pack. It’s a nod to the shared adrenaline rush, as fans of auto racing appreciate the quick-thinking and decisiveness that also propels players in aviation-style betting games.

    Betting on the fast lane

The roaring engines, the screeching tires and the driver’s laser-focused eyes; car racing is an orchestra of intense moments where milliseconds matter. For those who love the fast lane, the roulette wheel turns out to be a similar track, with the silver ball racing around before settling into its numbered pocket. Just as a seasoned racer knows when to push the pedal to the metal or ease off the gas, a skilled roulette player feels the heartbeat of the game, strategizing on every turn. There’s more to auto racing betting than just a guess game; serious bettors study the form, track conditions, and history. Similarly, roulette demands a balance of intuition and analysis, measuring out bets in a dance of odds and evens.

Poker face at the pit stop

Let’s talk about poker and what it shares with the high stakes of auto racing. On the track, drivers must stay cool under pressure, hiding their next move from their competitors. What about poker players? They’re at the table, mastering the same blank expression, the classic poker face, often dictating the bluff and counter-bluff strategies that can lead to victory or defeat. Moving beyond the bluff, both arenas require patience and a meticulous analysis of the opposition. A driver biding time before overtaking mirrors a poker player waiting for the right moment to go all in. Moments of high tension where skill makes all the difference are what unify the worlds of high-speed racing and high-stakes card games.

    Slot machines and checkered flags

Without a doubt, slot machines are the grand spectacle of the casino world, with bright lights and jingles that mirror the fanfare of the climax of a car race. Much like waiting for the slot reels to align with the perfect combination, the anticipation of a sprint finish at the racetrack has fans on the edge of their seats. Both scenarios can turn ordinary moments into extraordinary victories with the unexpected turn of events. The slots, like the race track are places where underdogs can pull ahead and favorites can fall behind, illustrating that in gaming and racing, fortune favors the bold, and a split second can change everything.

    Navigating the odds

Stepping into the world of sports betting or the casino is not just about thrills; it’s also about knowing how to navigate through the odds and play the numbers well. To begin, understanding the odds is crucial – a solid grasp can mean the difference between success and a wreck. Bankroll management is another skill that comes in handy in both domains. Ensuring that you’re not putting all your chips down at once can keep you in the game longer, increasing the chances of a good win. And just as a pit crew analyzes every race to fine-tune their approach, casino-goers need to learn from their losses to develop a strategy that gets them around those tight corners in the future.

Premiere of New Mazda CX-70 Crossover SUV

The two-row mid-size SUV offers a hybrid-only powertrain lineup and bolsters Mazda’s North American product lineup –

HIROSHIMA, Japan, Jan 31, 2024 – Mazda Motor Corporation (“Mazda”) announced that Mazda North American Operations, which oversees operations in North America, unveiled the Mazda CX-70, the company’s newest crossover SUV, on January 30 (Pacific Standard Time).

The CX-70 is the third model(1) in Mazda’s Large Product Group. This two-row crossover SUV was developed for the strategic North American(2) market. In addition to its superior environmental and safety performance balanced with the joy of driving culminating from Mazda’s signature human-centric philosophy, the CX-70’s design and features complement customers’ active lifestyles. The CX-70 is set to roll out this spring in the United States and Canada.(3)

The CX-70’s launch is Mazda’s foray into the two-row mid-size SUV segment.(4) Not only does this model enhance Mazda’s SUV lineup(5) which enjoys robust demand, but it also shores up the company’s business and brand in North America. All the CX-70 models come with a hybrid powertrain: the plug-in hybrid system and M Hybrid Boost (48V mild hybrid system) technology are available, dovetailing with Mazda’s efforts to accelerate electrification in the region in a manner that appropriately meets market needs.

The concept underlying the CX-70 is “Passion Pursuer.” This model offers a roomy and practical cargo space with a sporty design tailored to the preferences of outgoing and active customers who enjoy pursuing their interests and passions.

The design expresses the vitality inherent in Mazda’s KODO or “Soul of Motion” design concept. The exterior features dynamic front and rear bumpers, newly designed 21-inch aluminum wheels,(6) and distinctive black components. A burgundy(7) base, creating both brilliance and depth, underscores the interior that is an expression of the active lifestyle.

The CX-70 features a power remote fold function. One push switch of the rear hatch, folds down the second row of seats for additional cargo space, creating a flat floor which extends to the rear hatch. There are also three underfloor storage compartments for personal items and other gear. This personalized space is an enhancement, enabling customers to easily organize their active lifestyle.

The CX-70 features Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS) Unresponsive Driver Support,(8) Mazda’s latest safety technology. When activated, CTS Unresponsive Driver Support alerts the driver incrementally whenever the system detects the driver’s eyes are closed or distracted and also when the driver’s hands are off the steering wheel. If the driver does not respond, the system slows down and stops the vehicle, attempting to avoid an accident or mitigate any damage should an accident occur. The Mazda Co-Pilot Concept, Mazda’s proprietary advanced human-centric driver support technology, contributes to building a society where everyone feels safe to move about freely thanks to technology that proactively enhances our well-being.

Two powertrain configurations are offered: the e-SKYACTIV G3.3 which integrates M Hybrid Boost into a 3.3L inline six-cylinder turbo-charged gasoline engine and the e-SKYACIV PHEV which is a plug-in hybrid system combining a 2.5L inline four-cylinder gasoline engine and electric motor.(9) In combination with a new rear wheel drive architecture, Mazda seeks to balance outstanding environmental performance with the pleasure of driving at will.

The CX-70 also features a Trailer Hitch View(10) with a viewfinder that guides the driver when hitching up a trailer. This model also has a 5,000-pound towing capacity,(11) 1,500W power output,(12) and other features complementing customers’ active lifestyles. The CX-70 is not just for driving. It also offers enhancements that will partner with you as you journey through life.

Mazda will continue to pursue the ‘Joy of Driving’ under its core Human Centric value and aim to deliver the ‘Joy of Living’ by creating moving experiences in customers’ daily lives.

    (1) The first vehicle released was the Mazda CX-60 (available markets: Europe, Japan, etc.) and the second the Mazda CX-90 (available markets: North America, etc.). The fourth planned release is the Mazda CX-80 (available markets: Europe, Japan, etc.).
    (2) United States and Canada.
    (3) Mazda is planning to offer the CX-70 in Mexico and Australia at a later date.
    (4) Segment classifications are based on Mazda standards.
    (5) Currently, the SUV lineup available in the United States includes the Mazda CX-90, Mazda CX-50, best Mazda CX-5 years, and Mazda CX- 30.
    (6) 19-inch aluminum wheels are also available. Aluminum wheel configurations vary according to market and vehicle grade.
    (7) Other interior colors available are black, greige, and tan. Interior colors vary according to market and vehicle grade.
    (8) CTS configurations vary according to marketing grade. The system has limitations, and its effectiveness varies depending on a range of conditions. Even when the system is activated, it is unable to completely prevent collisions and lane deviations. The driver has a duty to operate the vehicle safely and all responsibility lies with the driver even when the CTS Unresponsive Driver Support is activated. Do not rely completely on the system and always remember to drive safely.
    (9) Powertrain lineup available in the United States. The powertrain lineup varies by market.
    (10) To use of the Trailer Hitch View requires the installation of a Mazda genuine trailer hitch. Trailer Hitch View configurations vary according to market and vehicle grade.
    (11) Towing capacity varies according to market and vehicle grade.
    (12) Feature is only available on the plug-in hybrid model.

TRD USA, Mobil 1™ expand relationship beginning with 2024 motorsports season

Partnership to further celebrate the brand’s love of racing across eight motorsports series throughout 2024 season and beyond

SPRING, Texas (Tuesday, January 30, 2024) – Mobil 1™ and TRD USA (Toyota Racing Development) announced today the first-of-its-kind expansion of the iconic brands’ long-standing motorsports relationship, which includes Mobil 1 primary assets across all three of Toyota’s NASCAR Cup Series teams – Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), 23XI Racing (23XI), and LEGACY MOTOR CLUB (LEGACY M.C.) – along with continued primary placements within multiple other racing series that Toyota competes in including NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, ARCA Menards Series, Late Models and more.

“Mobil 1 is proud to be synonymous with motorsports, and we are thrilled to take that to the next level with Toyota Racing Development,” shares Rob Shearer, Director of Global Sponsorships and Marketing Services, on behalf of Mobil 1. “Toyota Racing Development shares the same passion for performance as we do and, together, we will work to continue to show how the right motor oil can improve on-track performance and provide longevity for consumers’ vehicles. We are proud to compete in many different series and cheer on our racers all season long.”

The strategic partnership between Mobil 1 and TRD aims to continue to develop technology advantages across series that help teams win, provide exclusive access to driver stories on and off the track, continue to grow the base of fans that love racing and driving, and work together to develop the next generation of racers. This will be further formalized beyond the partnership with three of the most exciting NASCAR teams to include driver development across several racing series and off-track within the growing off-road and overlanding cultures.

“TRD’s technical partnership with Mobil 1 has been integral to Toyota’s on-track performance and success over the past 20+ years,” explains David Wilson, president, TRD USA. “From winning the Indy 500 to championships in NASCAR, IMSA, NHRA and countless achievements in sports car, grass roots and dirt racing action, Mobil 1 has been the common denominator. As we begin another exciting racing season in 2024, we are honored to expand our partnership with Mobil 1.”

Mobil 1 high-performance synthetic motor oils are used by many of the world’s top race teams and celebrates over a decade of partnership with TRD. Mobil 1 was first named an official technology partner in 2010 with their support and lubricants helping Toyota drivers achieve multiple championships across several racing disciplines and several career defining victories.

Back-to-back NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4 driver Christopher Bell will lead off the increased partnership with Mobil 1 as the primary sponsor on his new Toyota Camry XSE at the Clash at the Coliseum this weekend. Bell will also have Mobil 1 backing for the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway in March and Talladega Superspeedway in April. JGR will also have several Mobil 1 primary races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Chandler Smith.

“Mobil 1 and TRD have a long-standing history,” adds Bell. “I have been a small part of it running the dirt cars for them and even having Mobil 1 on my own sprint car a couple of years ago. It is an honor to have them as a partner on the Cup side.”

After many career-bests achieved for both of 23XI’s drivers in the 2023 season, both Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace will run primary Mobil 1 races this year. Tyler Reddick will kick off the team’s primary assets at the spring Phoenix race and return to Mobil 1 colors at Richmond Raceway in August, while Bubba Wallace will have Mobil 1 as his primary sponsor at the first road course race of the season at the Circuit of the Americas in March.

“It’s really awesome for Mobil 1 to come on board,” shares Reddick. “When you look at a brand like Mobil 1, the technology, the innovation, the things they continue to improve and push – it is great to have a partner like that involved with our race team at 23XI, because honestly, we are trying to do some of the same things. I am excited to be working with them this upcoming year, and hopefully we can find their race car in victory lane.”

“I’m excited to have Mobil 1 on my Toyota this season,” adds Wallace. “They have done a lot inside the sport – you have seen them on various teams and cars, so to carry that iconic brand in 2024 is really cool. The connection with Toyota makes it tie in all together and hopefully carry a lot of speed and a good time, so we are looking forward to the opportunity.”

LEGACY M.C.’s John Hunter Nemechek will close out the season for Mobil 1. Nemechek, a graduate of the Toyota driver development (TD2) program, and Mobil 1 visited Victory Lane many times together through the years. Mobil 1 was Nemechek’s primary partner for his first Toyota win – in NASCAR Truck Series action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March 2021. Since joining Toyota and Mobil 1 in 2021, Nemechek has won 15 races across the Xfinity and Truck Series, with Mobil 1 as the primary for six of those victories.

Nemechek’s first Cup Series race in the Mobil 1 livery is the iconic Labor Day Classic at Darlington Raceway with additional primary races at Atlanta Motor Speedway in September, and the season finale at Phoenix Raceway in November.

“2024 is going to be a big year for us, and I’m very thankful to have Mobil 1 and its continued support once again this season. We have been fortunate to share a lot of success over the past three years and made plenty of great memories together along the way,” says Nemechek. “Their commitment to Toyota and TRD across so many different forms of racing really shows their passion and dedication to motorsports as a whole, and to be able to represent them in my return to the Cup Series with LEGACY M.C. will be special. I’m looking forward to kicking things off with them in a big way.”

Mobil 1 will also continue to be a valuable part of the TD2 program with many primary schemes, including in NASCAR Truck Series action with TRICON Garage and driver Taylor Gray; in ARCA and Late Model racing with Brent Crews and Isabella Robusto; and World of Outlaws races with Buddy Kofoid. Jade Avedisian, who made history in 2023 as the first woman to win a dirt midget championship, will have Mobil 1 as one of her primary partners in her dirt midget races and during her full season run at the Toyota GR Cup title.

Kalitta Motorsports will also continue to receive Mobil 1 support through the TRD partnership in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season. The Kalitta Motorsports and Mobil 1 relationship – which has been in place since 2020 – achieved championship level success this year as Doug Kalitta won his first NHRA Top Fuel world title. Kalitta Motorsports will once again utilize the Mobil 1 Drag Racing motor oil in their Top Fuel dragsters driven by Kalitta and Shawn Langdon, and J.R. Todd’s Toyota GR Supra Funny Car.

The Lexus Racing GT3 program will also continue its partnership with Mobil 1, including having a presence on the championship winning Vasser Sullivan No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Mobil 1 has a rich history in motorsport competition, which dates to the early 1970s with its early foray into rally competition. Mobil 1 entered the world of Formula 1 as a sponsor of the Williams Formula 1™ team in 1978 and entered NASCAR with the sponsorship of Rusty Wallace’s No. 27 car in 1987. Today, Mobil 1 remains a fixture on the F1 circuit, NASCAR tracks, and extreme motorsport races such as the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. With a deep history in motorsports and supporting pre-eminent race teams around the globe, Mobil 1 aims to inspire drivers and fans everywhere, celebrate the love of driving, and elevate the passion for motorsports around the globe.
