Series: Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli
Division: Big Machine Vodka Spiked CoolersTA2 Series
Location: Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton
    Layout: 3.27-mile, 17-turn road course
Format: 30 laps or 75 minutes
    Weather: Sunny, low-60s

    TeamSLR:

    ● Dillon Machavern – Started 9th, Finished 5th (Running, completed 30/30 laps)
    ● Connor Mosack – Started 34th, Finished 6th (Running, completed 30/30 laps)
    ● Thad Moffitt – Started 18th, Finished 24th (Running, completed 30/30 laps)

    M1 Racecars:

    ● Chris Liesfeld – Started 22nd, Finished 13th (Running, completed 30/30 laps)

    Noteworthy:

    ● Connor Mosack was awarded the Cool Shirt Cool Move of the Race for his charge from 34th and last on the starting grid to today’s sixth-place finish. The fulltime TeamSLR driver in 2021 and 2022 returned for the third time this season but had to forego Saturday’s TA2 practice and qualifying sessions due to his NASCAR Xfinity Series commitment Saturday at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. He drove the No. 8 Sherry Strong/SLR-M1 Racecars entry at VIR today as a tribute to the late Sherry Pollex.

Dillon Machavern, Driver No. 17 Heritage Automotive/Unifirst/SLR-M1 Racecars Ford Mustang:

“That was a good finish today. It felt good to be in the mix. We got shuffled back a few positions on the initial restart and then had to fight our way back toward the front. It was particularly difficult to pass out there today. Once you cleared someone, you could pull away, but getting around people was the hard part. The car was strong throughout the race and we were really hoping to fight for a podium spot but just ran out of time. All in all, a good effort for this TeamSLR/M1 Racecars organization.”

Connor Mosack, Driver No. 8 Sherry Strong/SLR-M1 Racecars Entry:

“It was an honor for us today to honor the Sherry Strong Foundation and honor Sherry Pollex’s legacy in the sport of racing and in NASCAR. Just an honor for me to be able to do that in the Xfinity race yesterday and then again today. Just big thanks to my team, TeamSLR, we brought a really good car but it just took a little too long to get going. We learned some stuff, for sure, and I had a lot of fun coming from the back and just happy we could finish near the front. I just wish we had some more laps.”

Thad Moffitt, Driver No. 43 Customers Bank/Safety-Kleen/Victory Impact Chevrolet Camaro:

“We still have this top-five speed that we’ve shown lately, but it was just unfortunate circumstances today. I think all day, Dillon, Mosack and I kind of ran the same speed. Mosack was definitely the best of the three cars, and I think we probably should’ve run fifth, sixth, seventh, somewhere in there. Of course, on the last restart, we just got spun off the track. I think it was a racing deal. The restart going into one was getting kind of hairy. I knew somebody was going to get wrecked, I just didn’t think it would be me. We got over to turn four and Misha Goikhberg got a little loose and came over into me. Everybody’s on old tires, something like that is going to happen on a restart. It’s just disappointing that we drove from 18th to eighth and ended up 24th. Not to mention, we had a chance to pick up some ground in the rookie points, and we outran a bunch of cars all day that were ahead of us in the overall standings. Just a bummer of an ending to a solid weekend for us. We’ll move to COTA and try to get a podium for the last weekend.”

Chris Liesfeld, Driver No. 96 Fields Racing/M1 Racecars Chevrolet Camaro:

“It was a pretty solid day for me. Started 22nd and finished 13th, so for a guy who just shows up every now and then, I’m happy with that. The car was handling pretty well. We worked on the forward drive all weekend, trying to make improvements, and worked on myself, trying to improve as a driver. I probably had a little more left in me. Turned my fastest lap in the middle of the race, which probably should’ve happened sooner. All in all, I felt good about the weekend. I’m happy with the result.”

  • Follow These Easy Steps and Improve the Appearance of Your Car

Follow These Easy Steps and Improve the Appearance of Your Car

Do you own a car? If so, now’s the time to improve the way that it looks.

A lot of people get very lazy when it comes to their vehicles, especially with aesthetic maintenance. Sure, most people take their cars to a mechanic if they break down or show signs of damage, but if the average person’s car gets dented, scratched, or marked, it’s pretty common for them to leave the damage unchecked. This post intends to tell you about what you need to do to improve your car’s external appearance, so you can take pride in it.

    Regular Maintenance

If your car shows any signs of damage, make sure that you immediately take it to get repaired. A professional car interior and exterior detailing service may be able to help you with this. You still need to go to visit a detailing company even if your car doesn’t show signs of damage though. Performing regular maintenance on your car is something you can do at home. However, serious maintenance, i.e., work on your car’s engine, should be dealt with by somebody with experience.  Under no circumstances should you attempt to make such repairs yourself. If you are going to perform maintenance on your car’s exterior, i.e., buffing out dents and concealing scratches, make sure that you take great care and follow expertly authored guides. There are many such guides available for you to view on the internet, so you should have no trouble finding learning resources.

    Detailing Services

If you want to keep your car looking its best, make sure that you regularly visit a detailing agency, as suggested above. Detailing agencies clean and maintain people’s cars for them. You do need to make sure that you find a reliable detailing agency if you are planning on hiring one. A detailing service’s reliability can be ascertained from their reviews. Make sure that when you are reading reviews, you read ones published on independent review sites and not on the businesses’ actual websites. Google Review and Trustpilot are the best places to turn when you are looking for information about specific businesses. The reviews posted on these sites are verified and authenticated by specialists. Reviews posted on businesses’ websites by their owners do not tend to be reliable and as a matter of fact, tend more often than not to be heavily biased.

    Consider Upgrades

Consider making upgrades to your car too. Upgrades can be a great way to enhance your car’s appearance and increase its value. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that they have to take their cars to professional mechanics and detailing services to have upgrades performed, but this is not true. It’s actually entirely possible to make repairs to your car independently, even at home. If you are going to do this, make sure that you conduct extensive research so that you can find the perfect parts for your car, as the better the parts are, the more your car will be worth on the resale market.

If you own your own car, make sure that you maintain and look after it.  Maintaining and looking after your car will increase its value and give you something to be proud of. Be sure to get your car detailed on a regular basis too.

  • NASCAR’s Safety Innovations: Protecting Drivers at High Speeds

NASCAR’s Safety Innovations: Protecting Drivers at High Speeds

NASCAR is all about thrills. High-octane races, thunderous engines, and adrenaline-fueled action. However, this doesn’t mean that safety isn’t paramount. With speeds often exceeding 200 miles per hour, if there are any slip-ups, there’s the potential for danger. However, any risks have been significantly reduced by NASCAR’s safety innovations. Read on to find out more about how drivers are being protected, even at top speeds.

    Advanced Helmets and HANS Devices

The helmets used by NASCAR drivers really do offer some advanced head protection. Not only are they equipped with reinforced shells, but they are also lined with energy-absorbing foam that will minimize any impact to the head. In addition to this, innovative HANS devices restrict excessive head movement during an impact. These have become the standard for protecting drivers against any head or neck injuries.

Fire Resistant Suits & Safety Nets

Fire-resistant suits are another crucial element of NASCAR safety. Made from multiple layers of fire-resistant material, they act as a second skin, offering precious moments of protection in a fire-related incident. Safety nets are also essential in the event of a crash. Safety nets cover the driver’s side window. In the event that the window smashes, the safety nets will prevent any debris from entering the cockpit, keeping drivers safe.

    Safety Barriers

One of the most important components of NASCAR’s safety arsenal is the implementation of safety barriers, including traffic control barricades. These barriers have played a major role in protecting drivers. They are usually placed strategically around the track, providing an added layer of safety in case a crash occurs at a high speed. The barriers absorb and dissipate the energy of an impact, reducing the force that can impact the driver. This innovation has been integral, making the sport significantly safer for drivers.

    The Car of Tomorrow

Another pivotal moment in NASCAR safety was the introduction of The Car of Tomorrow (CoT), introduced in 2007. It introduced some game-changing safety measures such as energy-absorbing materials, as well as improved structural integrity. This car paved the way for the Next Gen Car. The Next Gen Car introduced in 2022, has gone one step further to protect drivers. Its design includes a reinforced roll cage, as well as the energy-absorbing materials seen in the last model. This design further reduces the risk of injury if a crash occurs at top speeds.

    The Human Element

In addition to technology and innovation, people also have a huge part to play in keeping NASCAR safe. NASCAR events have a dedicated emergency response team that is trained to react incredibly quickly. They’re always ready to provide medical care, or even extract drivers from vehicles when necessary.

NASCAR’s commitment to safety makes it feel like a sport that you can really get behind. It provides heart-pounding, adrenaline-pumping action alongside innovative safety features and the further development of safer race cars. As NASCAR continues to evolve, one thing is for sure, we can expect more groundbreaking safety features that will safeguard life and limb while ensuring that racing remains exhilarating and enjoyable for all.

  • 4 Breakthrough Technologies in Race Car Manufacturing

4 Breakthrough Technologies in Race Car Manufacturing

Race car building has really changed over time. It’s all about keeping up with new track demands and what the fans want to see. The race arena is now a huge platform for branding, so it’s not just about speed anymore but how cool these cars look, too.

But in this world of constant change, some techs stand out as real game changers. We will tell you about four big technologies that are taking race car creation to a whole new level.

    Advanced Carbon Fiber Composites

Race cars need to be both light and strong. In the past, it usually meant choosing one over the other. Now, we’ve got things like carbon fiber composites that are tough but really light. The secret is all in how they’re made, with lots of careful layering for maximum strength.

So what do you get at the end? Cars are ready to handle even the toughest tracks while staying quick on their wheels. Plus, these new materials let designers nail those aerodynamic shapes without giving up any sturdiness.

    3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping

Getting a race car just right needs lots of little changes all the time. With 3D printing, making and checking parts is now so quick. The old days of waiting on molds or heavy-duty machining are all in the past.

If something isn’t working great, we can make new versions so fast to try out different options. This means that these cars are always improving over time. They’re getting better at handling any surprises from ever-changing tracks.

    AI-Driven Aerodynamics Analysis

In racing, even a split second can make all the difference. That’s where aerodynamics comes into play, shaping cars to cut through air quickly. Wind tunnel tests have always been part of car design, but now, AI is taking it further.

Using tons of data and real-time simulations, AI predicts how air flows around a race car better than ever before. It pinpoints pressure spots and areas causing drag with crazy accuracy. This way, hiccups in design are caught much earlier, making sure every race car becomes an unbeatable speed machine cutting smoothly through thin air.

    Electrification and Energy Storage Innovations

Everyone’s going green these days, including the racing world. Electric power isn’t a fad – it’s here to stay. Many race leagues are bringing in electric or hybrid races, so energy storage and delivery are pretty crucial now.

New breakthroughs in battery technology, storing energy, and regenerative braking systems mean cars can use their power even better. These cool updates mean that today’s electric race cars can totally keep pace with traditional petrol-powered ones, gearing us up for an electrifying future on the track.

    Conclusion

Race car making is on the edge of some seriously cool tech breakthroughs. New stuff in materials, design methods, data analysis, and power systems means tomorrow’s race cars will be quicker and more efficient. As these game-changers become commonplace, that just means we’ve got a future full of fast-paced excitement where speed limits and designs keep getting better.

  • TPC Racing Takes Triple Porsche Sprint Challenge Championships, a 992 Race Win and Four Podiums at Indianapolis

TPC Racing Takes Triple Porsche Sprint Challenge Championships, a 992 Race Win and Four Podiums at Indianapolis

    • David Williams Scores Porsche 992 Am-Class Driver Championship and Boosts TPC Racing to the 992 Am Team Title With a Friday Race Win
    • Chloe Chambers and Tillman Schmid Podiums at Indy Wrap-Up TPC Racing Cayman Pro-Am Class Team Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (October 8, 2023) – TPC Racing capped a strong 2023 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama campaign on Friday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) where a race win and four total podium finishes on the weekend secured a driver championship and a pair of team titles in one of the most competitive seasons on record for TPC Racing in the team’s more than 20-year history.

The TPC Racing team leaves Indianapolis holding the trophies for the Porsche Sprint Challenge 992 Am and Cayman Pro-Am Team titles while David Williams took home the hardware for winning the Porsche 992 Am Driver Championship.

After tiptoeing to second place Thursday on a rainy IMS road course, Williams only needed to start Friday’s finale to claim the 992 crown. Instead, Williams ended with an exclamation point, running from the class pole to his fourth victory of the year to complete his championship run and convincingly clinch the team title for TPC Racing in his No. 237 Mission Barbecue Porsche 911 GT3.

The Cayman title was a complete team effort all season and was anchored by Chloe Chambers and her class-leading seven race wins in the No. 70 Monoflo International Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Chambers didn’t have a chance to battle for the Cayman Pro-Am driver title after missing the season-opening doubleheader in Sebring last March, but her teammate Tillman Schmid stepped up that weekend to earn the championship points.

In his first professional sports car race on racing slick tires, Schmid finished third in the season-opening race at Sebring and bookended his season with another third place showing Thursday at Indy in the No. 77 Monoflo International Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

A third-place Pro-Am finish by Chambers in Friday’s season-ending sprint at IMS put the final touch on TPC Racing’s Cayman Pro-Am team championship.

William, Chambers and Schmid were part of a season-high six TPC Racing Porsche Sprint Challenge entries at Indy. The other trio of drivers running under the TPC Racing tent narrowly missed bringing home their own trophies from the Brickyard.

Tom Kerr, a TPC Racing stalwart, made a successful return to the track at Indy for the first time since finishing second and third in the Cayman Am class at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) last June. Driving his No. 73 Got Veins Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, Kerr secured a pair of fourth-place Am class finishes in the Indy doubleheader.

Shaun McKaigue also ran a limited schedule this season but ended the year on a high note at Indy with a top-five finish Thursday in his No. 134 TPC Racing Porsche 911.

Aaron Farhadi debuted with TPC Racing this weekend in a partnership with Dream Racing. The successful 17-year-old kart racer impressed out of the box in his first auto race with a pair of Cayman Pro-Am fourth-place finishes in the No. 2 Dream Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

Harris Levitas, Director of Race Operations: “It’s an incredible way to end the year. David had two pole positions and a race win, there were two podiums in the GT4 Cayman Pro-Am class. We won the 992 Am Driver and Team championship and the Cayman Pro-Am Team Championship. Just couldn’t ask for more. The TPC Racing team worked so hard all year, from the crew to the driver coaches to the engineering staff, everybody played a huge role in this. I can’t thank this hardworking team enough. You don’t get these a lot, especially three championships. We’ll take it, it was deserved and earned by every person on this team. David has just been outstanding. The more testing we’ve been able to do, he’s shown that he’s a really great driver. It’s so rewarding to watch. For him to have a drivers championship, to start the year with a race win and end it with a race win, it should just be incredible for him and I’m extremely proud of all that David has accomplished, and really every driver on the TPC team. To see where everyone has come from is really great.”

David Williams, Driver, No. 237 Mission Barbecue Porsche 911 GT3: “It’s been a great season. The truth is, I’ve been consistent all season and that’s what gave me what I needed to win the championship. But it feels really good to be on that top step. Qualifying first for the weekend was big for me. The rain race didn’t go exactly how I wanted, but I didn’t hurt my chances. I just need the race experience. Friday was a lot of fun, no pressure really to do the best I could. I’m a Porsche guy, so I love the platform. This 992 car is just amazing. It’s a great series, it’s well organized, it’s competitive. I’ve known Mike Levitas for 30 years, and Harris is a great asset to the team. Sebastian Moreno has been a great coach this year. The camaraderie is fantastic, but there’s a seriousness to it too. We’re here to win.”

Chloe Chambers, Driver, No. 70 Monoflo International Porsche Cayman: “This is my first year in sports cars, so to come in and get seven wins this year and having missed the first round, even though the points don’t really show it everyone had their eye out for me. I’ll be moving up to the 992 next year, so I’m sure people will still be looking at how I’m doing. I’ve done some testing in the 992, so I’m pretty excited for that. I’m pretty much ready to go in the 992, so I’m looking forward to next year. For my first year in sports car racing, I think it went as good as it could. To come in, especially in my debut at Barber in front of IndyCar and all of the fans, I think that was pretty cool to make my mark that early. For the rest of the year, I stayed pretty consistent with the wins. I had a couple of misfortunes but I think people admired my consistency and speed.”

Tillman Schmid, Driver, No. 77 Monoflo International Porsche Cayman: “It was a great season, everyone was very happy with the team and it was a great team effort. It was a great season and a great result. What we had to work on during my first year on slick tires was just maximizing the peak grip in the car. Coming to the slicks, they just have a little bit extra when you get that lateral grip and you’re loaded up. Maximizing that is the key, especially in this series when it’s so close and that allows you to stay with the top guys and be there if they have an issue. My biggest surprise is that it became a very routine, we came here with the guys and got the job done every weekend.”

Shaun McKaigue, Driver, No. 134 Porsche 911 GT3: “We had a lot of fun. The TPC crew are so great. They helped me out and got the car back in shape to go back after a couple of setbacks. The coaching has been great, the team has been great and we’ve had a lot of fun. A few ups and downs, Thursday we had a great race and came from 13th overall to 8th and P5 in class, which is a great finish for us. The car has been really quick, but the guys overnight did a change for us from qualifying and the car was great. Friday we had a really great car, there was an unfortunate incident at the start when we got going again and unfortunately I just got squeezed a little bit into the brake zone and spun the car. It ended the race for me, but the car was good.”

About TPC Racing: TPC Racing is the Mid-Atlantic’s premier maintenance, service, tuning and modification center dedicated solely to Porsche sportscars. • How to Estimate Repair Costs in Wholesale Real Estate

How to Estimate Repair Costs in Wholesale Real Estate

In the world of wholesale real estate, understanding how to accurately estimate repair costs is pivotal. It not only ensures that you make a profit but also builds your reputation as a reliable wholesaler.

This guide offers a comprehensive look into the process of gauging repair costs, ensuring that you are always a step ahead in your wholesaling journey.

    1. Understand the Basics

Before you can make precise estimates, it’s essential to understand the rudiments of repair work. Houses often require a variety of repairs ranging from simple cosmetic fixes to intricate structural overhauls. Begin by acquainting yourself with these categories.

This might involve reading books on construction, attending seminars, or even visiting construction sites. Further, it’s prudent to understand the materials in play. This not only helps in estimating costs but also ensures that quality isn’t compromised.

By embedding oneself in the nuances of construction and repair, you lay a solid foundation for accurate cost estimation.

    2. Property Inspection is Key

A superficial glance at a property rarely reveals the complete picture. This is why a meticulous property inspection is non-negotiable. Collaborate with a seasoned home inspector who can shed light on potential problem areas.

These professionals delve deep, assessing structural components, electrical systems, plumbing intricacies, and much more. Their insights, often provided in a detailed report, become the bedrock of your repair estimation.

Moreover, regular inspections instill confidence in potential buyers, solidifying your standing as a thorough wholesaler.

    3. Categorize Repairs

Systemizing the repair estimation process can immensely simplify it. Start by categorizing repairs into tiers – cosmetic, functional, and major structural. Cosmetic enhancements like painting or landscaping uplift property aesthetics.

Functional fixes, on the other hand, ensure the property’s utilities, such as electrical circuits, plumbing lines, and HVAC systems, are in prime condition. Then, there are major structural repairs that address foundational issues or extensive property damages.

By segregating repairs this way, you’re better poised to allocate funds and prioritize tasks effectively.

    4. Leverage Technology

In this digital epoch, technology offers unprecedented advantages, with numerous apps and software, including those designed for MLS listings, crafted specifically to assist real estate wholesalers. These tools, infused with vast datasets, can provide preliminary repair estimates almost instantaneously.

While they should complement and not replace manual scrutiny, they are invaluable for cross-referencing. Moreover, they often come equipped with features that allow you to save and compare estimates, ensuring you always stay on top of your repair game.

    5. Local Material and Labor Costs

Geography plays a pivotal role in influencing repair costs. Local labor and material charges can fluctuate vastly between regions, cities, and even neighborhoods. Engage in research to gauge these local variations. Frequent visits to nearby hardware stores, interactions with craftsmen, and securing multiple quotations can provide clarity.

By embedding oneself in the local repair ecosystem, not only do you get the most competitive rates, but you also remain insulated from sudden price hikes.

    6. Factor in the Unseen

Wholesale properties, often riddled with wear and tear, can harbor hidden damages. While a thorough inspection can reveal most issues, always be prepared for unforeseen repair needs. It’s a savvy move to incorporate a contingency margin in your repair cost estimates.

Typically, a buffer of 10-20% of the overall projected cost should suffice. This ensures that even if unexpected problems rear their head during the repair phase, your budget remains unshaken.

    7. Network with Contractors

Your rapport with local contractors can be a goldmine. These professionals, well-entrenched in the repair milieu, can offer invaluable insights. Regular interactions and collaborations can lead to mutual trust.

Consequently, you might gain access to discounts, expedited services, or even insider knowledge about upcoming real estate trends.

Over time, these relationships become cornerstones of a successful wholesaling venture.

    8. Experience is the Best Teacher

Theory and advice, while essential, can only take you so far. There’s an undeniable value in hands-on experience. With every property you assess and every repair estimate you make, your acumen sharpens.

Documenting these experiences, perhaps in a dedicated journal or digital log, can be enlightening. Over time, patterns emerge, enabling you to anticipate costs and challenges even before they manifest.

    Conclusion

Estimating repair costs in wholesale real estate is a blend of meticulous research, keen observation, robust networking, and continuous learning. By meticulously scrutinizing each property, leveraging technological advancements, and cultivating a network of skilled professionals, you position yourself for sustained success. As wholesale real estate continues to evolve, these foundational principles remain timeless. Embrace them, refine them, and watch as your wholesaling journey flourishes.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Oct. 6, 2023) – Connor Mosack returns to M1 Racecars equipment for the third time this season to help honor Sherry Pollex’s legacy during Sunday’s Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers TA2 Series main event at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton.

Mosak will be behind the wheel of the No. 8 Sherry Strong/M1 Racecars entry, fielded by TeamSLR, to honor Pollex and her dedication to women’s and children’s health. Pollex, a longtime fixture in the racing community, lost her courageous battle with ovarian cancer on Sept. 17.

Mosack competed fulltime for TeamSLR in 2021 and 2022 and finished those seasons third and fourth, respectively, in the TA2 championship. The 24-year-old driver from Charlotte, North Carolina, graduated this year to a slate of 23 NASCAR Xfinity Series races with Sam Hunt Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing, along with another six ARCA Menards Series outings with the Gibbs team. Mosack will also honor Pollex’s legacy during Saturday’s Drive for the Cure 250 Xfinity Series race on the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval in the No. 24 SherryStrong.org GR Supra for Sam Hunt Racing.

It was that tribute by Sam Hunt Racing that led TeamSLR co-principal Scott Lagasse Jr., to want to do the same with Mosack behind the wheel during Sunday’s 30-lap, 75-minute race around the 3.7-mile, 17-turn VIR circuit. Lagasse was competing in both the Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2015 when he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer just weeks after his 34th birthday. Pollex was one of many who offered him their friendship and support at the time.

“She was a friend you knew you could call if you needed to – she was very good at that – and I hope she felt like I was the same for her,” said Lagasse, who is thankful to call himself a cancer survivor today. “It was comforting to know there’s somebody there, the same age, going through the same struggles in life. And she was just part of a great family. If you were around racing growing up, you just respected the Pollex family. They did things right. At times like this, you want to do something special to let the world know who she was and what she meant to you.”

Mosack relishes the opportunity to be a part of Sherry Strong tribute on back-to-back days, at two racetracks that he is particularly fond of and are close to home.

“It’s an honor for me and Sam Hunt Racing and TeamSLR to honor Sherry on our racecars, to be able to bring light to her and honor her legacy in that way,” Mosack said. “Everyone’s been praying for her family, and it will be great to have them all there with us Saturday at Charlotte. And then, of course, to be able to do it again with the Lagasses on Sunday, it’s cool to know that Sherry and Scotty offered support to each other during their respective battles with health issues and it’ll be doubly good to be able to honor her twice in the same weekend.”

Because of his Xfinity Series commitments at Charlotte Motor Speedway Saturday, Mosack will have to forego TA2 qualifying late that afternoon, which will place him at the back of the 34-car starting grid for Sunday’s race. It will be his fifth TA2 outing at VIR, dating back to his starts there during Trans Am’s doubleheader weekend at the track in 2020, when he got his initial taste of road-course racing running just a partial schedule with TeamSLR. His best outing at the track was last October’s second-place finish from the pole, which offers a ray of hope for his prospects of advancing from the back of the starting grid this weekend.

“I’m really excited about the Sunday race – I’ve always enjoyed Trans Am racing, especially with the Lagasses, and VIR is one of my favorite places to go,” said Mosack, who in 26 career TA2 starts has a pair of wins, nine podium finishes and 15 top-10s. “It’s nearby and just a cool place. We had great speed there last year and felt like we let a win get away from us. We’ll have another shot at it this weekend. I won’t be able to qualify due to Xfinity racing on Saturday, but I think if we get the car good and have a caution or two, we can start from the back and still have a good shot at it.”

Mosack will join TeamSLR’s 2023 regular driving duo of Dillon Machavern and Thad Moffitt for Sunday’s 1:35 p.m. EDT race.

“We really want to thank the people who support our M1 Racecars program for making this tribute happen,” said Lagasse, who in the aftermath of his successful battle with colorectal cancer established ScreenYourMachine.org in concert with the American Gastroenterological Association to educate people on the need for getting age-appropriate screenings for all types of cancer. “There are a lot of people who make TeamSLR and M1 Racecars what they are, people like Ken Thwaits from Franklin Road, the Ellises, all of the partners who do so much for us through the course of the year that make things like this possible.”

iRacing Acquires NASCAR Team Properties’ Exclusive Simulation-Style Console Racing Game License

iRacing to develop NASCAR console game available in 2025

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (October 5, 2023) – NASCAR®, iRacing and Motorsport Games Inc. (NASDAQ: MSGM) (“Motorsport Games”) announced today that iRacing has acquired NASCAR Team Properties’ (NTP) exclusive simulation-style console racing games license from Motorsport Games. The sale, approved by NTP, will see the license transfer from 704Games, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorsport Games, to iRacing, which will begin developing a NASCAR console game expected in 2025.

“When we were approached with the option to acquire the license for the simulation-style NASCAR console game, which was the console game and franchise that we were dreaming about doing, it was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up,” said iRacing President Tony Gardner. “Having the ability to build a NASCAR console game is a privilege we promise to execute with the utmost care. We look forward to working diligently with NASCAR industry stakeholders to deliver a product that provides an amazing experience for the gaming community and NASCAR fans worldwide.”

Gardner added, “With all the NASCAR game experience, console experience, resources and technology assets we already have in place, we are in a fantastic position to hit the ground running building a great NASCAR game franchise on the various platforms.”

The acquisition expands iRacing’s decade-plus presence in NASCAR. iRacing began its relationship with NASCAR in 2010 with a licensed sim racing product and has grown into a key technical partner of the sanctioning body as its “official simulation partner.” iRacing runs dozens of NASCAR official series on iRacing with thousands of people participating daily from late models to Cup cars, including the $100,000-to-win eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series and the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, the Massachusetts-based company’s simulation and engineering abilities have helped NASCAR develop new cars and tracks, including the NextGen car, Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum, and Chicago Street Race, among others. Now, iRacing can extend its expertise broadly to include NASCAR Team Properties.

Motorsport Games obtained the NASCAR simulation-style console gaming license in 2018 when it acquired majority equity in 704Games. Motorsports Games’ current NASCAR titles, including NASCAR Heat 5 and NASCAR Rivals (available here), will still be available and supported by Motorsport Games through 2024.

“The sale of the NASCAR license is the result of a thorough, strategic review of where we believe our company should be headed over the longer-term,” said Motorsport Games CEO Stephen Hood. “In our exploration of the sale, we gave due consideration to those companies we believed could develop a great NASCAR game. Both NASCAR and iRacing have been receptive to our proposed change, working with us to architect a positive transition post-sale and we thank them for their support. We will now concentrate our efforts towards delivering around other IP already in advanced development.”

In addition to simulation-style console gaming, NASCAR has worked diligently to produce quality experiences for fans who engage in virtual and gaming spaces. This year, the sanctioning body launched NASCAR Speed Hub on Roblox, released arcade-style console game NASCAR Arcade Rush, made available special team decals in Rocket League, announced the development of a mobile game with Hutch and completed another successful season of the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series. Furthermore, NASCAR partnered with esports organization Gen.G to create crossover content and build a live fan experience at the Rocket League Championship Series Major in Boston, and have had Fortnite and Rocket League paint schemes featured on cars in the NASCAR Cup Series this season. The sanctioning body is also leveraging gaming as an engine for content and community building through dedicated channels on Discord and Twitch, along with a growing presence on traditional social media channels.

“NASCAR has the most passionate fans in the world and a vast community that is just as passionate about gaming,” said NASCAR Managing Director Esports and Gaming Nick Rend. “What’s more, there continues to be tremendous opportunity to connect with millions of potential new fans in the gaming space.

“iRacing has been an incredible partner and ambassador for the NASCAR industry for more than a decade. We thank Motorsport Games for its efforts over the years and are ready to work with iRacing to deliver a best-in-class simulation-style NASCAR console game that’s exciting for the gaming community and allows our fans to connect with the sport in an impactful, meaningful way.”
