  • Why Regular Volkswagen Service Syracuse NY Is A Good Idea

Why Regular Volkswagen Service Syracuse NY Is A Good Idea

Nowadays, it seems that car ownership is as easy as it can be. Car reliability is at an all-time high, and most drivers tend to take this for granted. Whatever the weather, cars are always expected to start easily and perform properly any day of the year. This may be true especially for brand-new cars, but like any machine, cars can run into problems due to wear and tear. Even modern cars require regular maintenance, and expert mechanics can help you keep your car in tip-top shape. Many new car owners only consider regular maintenance to keep their warranty, but here are a few more valuable reasons why regular maintenance service for your Volkswagen is a good idea.

    1. Better performance

Daily use of any passenger vehicle in any condition induces a lot of abuse and stress on the car, and any continuous use without maintenance can test the limits of even the toughest vehicles. Rough terrain, hot tropical climates, as well as ice and snow, are just some examples of things that can abuse and damage the car. Expert mechanics from this site or any other location can check each critical part, and the condition of those areas, to ensure your car is in perfect running condition.

Having knowledgeable mechanics take care of your car guarantees good running condition is maintained for much longer. It can also bring back the performance for older cars that are starting to show signs of age. Performance factors like engine power, smooth shifting, and good handling can all be maintained with the proper care at regular periods.

    • More efficient gas consumption

Perhaps a more tangible trait of good performing cars is gas consumption. Efficient gas consumption is something most drivers are continually aware of due to its immediate effect on operating costs. When trips to the gas station become more and more frequent, it’s wise to consider having your engine checked for possible issues. Most new cars today are designed with efficiency in mind, and any decline in fuel efficiency should be a cause for concern.

Having your vehicle regularly checked and maintained should keep all the parts and lubricant in good condition, ensuring gas consumption stays within acceptable levels. Having old lubricant in the engine means there’s a bigger amount of dirt and sludge in the engine, which increases the friction between sliding and rotating parts. This puts a lot of unnecessary strain on the engine, making it work harder. This, in turn, makes the engine consume more fuel for the same amount of power required.

    • Longer service life for the vehicle

Services done on the car shouldn’t be requested only when there are issues. Another major benefit of keeping regular maintenance is to ensure the service life of your car is prolonged for as long as possible. Periodically checking the engine and other critical parts means that problems are found much earlier, preventing further damage. The costs for regular maintenance should be minimal compared to the financial burden of having heavier repair jobs in the future, or worse when your car needs to be replaced earlier than expected. Having regular periodic maintenance done by a professional vw mechanic means your car is always in good running condition, which guarantees a longer usable life for your vehicle.

    • Increase in your car’s resale value

In the event that you want to sell or trade-in your vehicle, part of what the buyers looks at is the car’s maintenance history, and its current running condition. Buyers who see complete maintenance records that were done on schedule may be more willing to pay a premium price for your car. The results of regular maintenance should also be evident during the test drive, and any experienced car mechanic can quickly tell a well-maintained vehicle from one which hasn’t had regular maintenance, just by driving it. The cost you spend for maintaining the vehicle will likely be paid back by the higher selling price or trading price of your car in the future.

    • Assurance of driver and passenger
      safety

The most important benefit of regular car maintenance is driver and passenger safety. Poor maintenance means that critical parts such as brakes, fluid, suspension, and steering parts can be worn out faster. Failure to replace these important components can lead to huge accidents, which may result in injury and loss of life.

    Conclusion

Your payments for your Volkswagen are only your first investment in a worthy vehicle. To ensure your investment lasts, set aside some funds for regular maintenance. In this way, you’ll be assured you’re taking good care of your car and in turn be confident that you and your loved ones will be safe when you use your car.

  • Rugby team’s and positions

    Rugby team’s and positions

The game of rugby is very interesting. Characterized by a series of sweat and effort in plays as well as brotherhood and sisterhood the game becomes even more interesting and for this reason, so many people are attached to it. Rugby betting has also become a big deal in the world of sports. However, it is also very important to know all about rugby positions and how they operate.

    Forwards

Basically, the role of forwards is to gain possession of the ball and to retain it. The players are normally the strongest and the most built so that they would take part in the scrum for the ball as well as the line-out. Normally the forwards are always referred to as the packs, especially in the part where scrum is involved.

    Front row

Here is where the two props up are located and also one hooker which makes a total of three players. The props are present to offer support for the hooker when the scrums take place and also they are the strength and power of the jumpers in the line-outs. The hooker as the strongest should be key in attacking and strumming of the ball and they are responsible for the throw-in lineups.

    Second row

This is where the locks are located. They are usually the tallest and their specialty is jumping at the line-out. They are supposed to be the standing jumpers with support of other forwards and they should always collect the thrown ball and ensure it comes down to their side. They should also provide forward drive in the scrum.

    Backs

Their work is to purposely to create scoring opportunities. There are normally small in size and their speed is tremendous as they move to the forward. They usually have excellent kicking and ball-handling skills and this applies to the fly-half, scrum-half, and full-backs.

    Half-backs

The half-backs are basically the scrum half’s and the fly-half who is the fastest in the team. The fly-half is normally the one to orchestrate the team’s game plan and therefor his performance is very crucial. Being the first to receive the ball from the scrum-half after the scrum or line-out, their speed is essential.

    Three quarters

Here is where we find the inside, outside the center, and the left and right wings. Their task is basically defense. They attack the opponents and in that case, they should employ tremendous speed and strength as they tackle the attacking players. The winds are always positioned on the outside of the backline at the pitch. The wings are to finish the moves of the team as well as the score tries. They are quite fast and the best runners in the team and they execute tremendous speeds to avoid tackles.

    Fullback

They are generally several meters behind the backline. Their work is to field the kicks from the opposition and they are usually the last line of defense in case an opponent succeeds in breaking through the backline.

  • Positive Payload 2019 Summer Winners Announced

Positive Payload 2019 Summer Winners Announced

$20,000 in Grants Awarded to Hardworking Non-Profits

PAOLI, Pa. (July 24th, 2019) – AmericanTrucks.com (AT) established the Positive Payload program in April 2017 to support non-profit organizations using pickup trucks in field work that improves local communities. This July, the auto parts retailer has selected two more charities to receive awards through their grant program, bringing the total donations to $20,000. The list of organizations benefiting from the program has grown to include Appalachia Service Project, and Operation Tiny Home this summer; with the retailer further announcing an exciting update to the program that will exponentially increase the annual number of winners.

The two organizations being awarded with Positive Payload grants are leveraging home building expertise in their charitable work. Appalachia Service Project (ASP) provides home repair and home replacement to families in Central Appalachia. The organization also assists in disaster recovery for incidents such as, floods and fires that occur in a five-state service area. Operation Tiny Home, based in the Pacific Northwest, is an organization with a mission to provide housing support to those struggling with instability. Every part of the organization must rely on the use of trucks.  They travel across the nation working with communities to make a lasting impact and use trucks as part of educational workshops to transport materials. They also transport their finished “tiny homes” in the delivery process.

As AT looks to the future, it has decided to change the way the program works, so that more organizations like ASP and Operation Tiny Home can benefit. Starting July 1, 2019, the grants will no longer be awarded on a bi-annual basis, but will be moved to a “rolling” basis. This comes with a change to the amount of the individual grants given. While the ongoing program will seek to award a greater quantity of organizations with smaller checks, there will continue to be one big donation given to a charity once a year.

The AT team extends sincere congratulations to all the Positive Payload grant recipients for 2019. With the new rules in place, the company looks forward to awarding additional organizations in the summer, the fall and into 2020. Visit https://www.americantrucks.com/positive-payload.html to learn more and apply for the next round.

  • Newgarden leads most laps, wins Iowa 300

Newgarden leads most laps, wins Iowa 300

Josef Newgarden again led the most laps at Iowa for the fourth time in the last five years. Only this time, he was able to seal the deal and take the checkered flag after leading 245 of the race’s 300 laps after the race was delayed due to thunderstorms in the area for four-and-a-half hours, pushing the start of the race to 11:45 p.m. ET.

The race was again delayed briefly on lap 55 for another shower, but the race was resumed shortly after, in which Newgarden was able to dominate and win at Iowa for the second time since 2016 when he led 282 laps in an Ed Carpenter Racing machine.

“Let me thank the fans that stayed. I’m sorry it took so long but I’m glad we got it in tonight,” said Newgarden. “My guys were awesome on the Hitachi car. Team Penske. Team Chevy. I can’t thank them enough. We had three fast cars. I wanted to be the fastest. We succeeded tonight.

“The car was great. You had to be good in traffic. And we were pumped for the guys. They worked really hard. It was nice to have it under the lights. I think if the weather didn’t come, we weren’t going to be under the lights.”

Defending series champion Scott Dixon finished in second while defending event champion James Hinchcliffe finished third. Newgarden’s Penske teammate Simon Pagenaud finished fourth after starting on the pole. Spencer Pigot finished fifth, while Alexander Rossi, Zach Veach, Graham Rahal, Sebastien Bourdais, and Tony Kanaan rounded out the top-10.

Will Power, driving the third Team Penske car, started second and led 49 laps before experiencing difficulties that left him one lap down in 15th.

“I went a bit wide getting onto pit road and then you get into the marbles,” said Power. “Once you get your tires dirty it is impossible to drive and I really had no chance. It was an unfortunate end to a pretty strong day for the No. 12 Verizon Chevy team. We jumped out to the lead early before Josef got around us. He was pretty strong tonight but we definitely had a podium night tonight before the pit road penalty.”

The race was slowed five times for 45 laps, including a yellow on lap one for a yellow start. The second yellow came out on lap 18 when the No. 31 of Sage Karam made contact in Turn 4. Rain slowed the race on lap 51 before the red flag flew on lap 55. The fourth caution flew on lap 187 for 12 laps when Karam and the No. 30 of Takuma Sato made contact in Turn 4. The fifth and final caution flew on lap 264 for 10 laps when the No. 20 of Ed Carpenter brought out the caution in Turn 2.

There were seven lead changes among five drivers, while the race ran one hour and 56 minutes.

The series next visits Mid-Ohio on July 28 for the Honda Indy 200, which will air on NBC and the Advance Auto Parts INDYCAR Radio Network at 3:30 p.m. ET. Rossi dominated last year’s event, but considering the race has seen six different winners in six races, it’s likely that there could be a different winner in 2019.
