No. 38 Great Clips Chevrolet News and Notes

. Kahne back in the seat of the No. 38 Great Clips Chevy at Bristol… This weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, Kahne will make his sixth start of the season for Turner Motorsports in the No. 38 Chevrolet. In five previous starts, Kahne has recorded one top-five and two top-10 finishes and has placed outside of the top-20 on just one occasion.

. Bristol Motor Speedway, by the numbers… In 14 NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Bristol Motor Speedway, Kahne has one win, four top-five (including two runner-up finishes) and four top-10 finishes to his credit. He has led a cumulative 132 laps at the famed half-mile track. In the fall of 2007, Kahne fended off current Turner Motorsports teammate, Jason Leffler, to bring home the winner’s trophy. In his last visit to BMS in the No. 38 Great Clips Chevy, Kahne brought home a second-place finish.

. 2.0 finishing average for this week’s Impala… The No. 38 Great Clips team will hit the track with chassis TMS-113. This chassis has quite an impressive finishing average of 2.0. Kasey Kahne drove this chassis to a second-place finish in the spring event at Bristol and most recently James Buescher finished second in the same car at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis.

. Who’s on the pit box? Stewart Cooper will call the shots for Kahne and serve as crew chief for the No. 38 Great Clips team in the eight races that he is behind the wheel.

. Batter up! On September 5th, just two days before the Great Clips 300 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Kahne will throw out the first pitch at the Atlanta Braves game as they go up against the Washington Nationals. Look for the Great Clips showcar to round the bases sometime between the third and sixth inning!

. New look for the Great Clips machine… For the remainder of the 2011 season, the No. 38 Great Clips Chevrolet will feature a new look with a special “Online Check-in” paint scheme. Recently, Great Clips launched the salon industry’s first-ever Online Check-In system which allows customers to remotely log in from a computer or smart phone and view the estimated wait time at surrounding salons. Consumers can click the “check-in” icon to add their name to the list at the Great Clips salon of their choice and, by the time they arrive, they are likely next or almost next in line-saving precious time they might have spent waiting in the lobby for their haircut.

. Turner Motorsports: In the hunt… In 24 Nationwide Series events in 2011, Turner Motorsports-prepared entries have notched three wins, 19 top-five and 47 top-10 finishes. All three of Turner Motorsports’ championship-contending drivers are inside the top-six in the driver point standings with Reed Sorenson in third, Justin Allgaier in fourth and Jason Leffler in sixth.

. Happy 10-Year Anniversary, Great Clips… This season marks Great Clips’ 10-year anniversary as a primary sponsor in the NNS. The Minneapolis-based Great Clips, Inc., which is currently the longest-running primary sponsor in the series, came onto the scene in 2001 as a primary sponsor of Akins Motorsports No. 38 entry, then driven by Christian Elder.

    Kahne on Bristol Motor Speedway

“A good handling car is important at a short-track like Bristol. You really have to work in practice to get the car where you want it for the race. Staying out of trouble is the key. I’ve been involved in accidents running in the back and I’ve gotten into accidents while running up front. Trouble can find you anywhere on this track, so that’s probably the biggest challenge when you go into a race at Bristol.”

Kahne on returning to Bristol Motor Speedway with Turner Motorsports

“I’m looking forward to going back to Bristol with Stewart Cooper [crew chief] and the Turner Motorsports guys. Over the last two years, every time we have unloaded at Bristol we have been fast right out of the gate. In each race, we’ve had a good shot to win but have really just had some terrible luck. I have such a long relationship with Great Clips and I’d love to get them back into victory lane. If we can just get luck on our side this weekend, I know we’ll have a really good chance to do that.”

Former Dodge driver Justin Allgaier earned his first career series win, leading 27 laps en route to victory. . Dodge’s Brad Keselowski earned Dodge its last NASCAR Nationwide Series pole position at BMS at the spring event in 2010.

PARKER KLIGERMAN – No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger R/T Career Stats: Starts: 14 Wins: 0 Top Fives: 0 Top 10s: 2 Poles: 1 Laps Led: 7 Average Start: 17.5 Average Finish: 21.5

PARKER KLIGERMAN AT BRISTOL . Parker Kligerman will be making his second career NASCAR Nationwide start at BMS; he started 43rd and finished ninth in last year’s Food City 250.

FAST FACTS . Four former series champions have driven the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger this year. Brad Keselowski (2010 Nationwide champion), Kurt Busch (2004 Sprint Cup champion), Sam Hornish Jr. (2001 Indy Car champion) and Jacques Villeneuve (1997 F1 champion).

DID YOU KNOW? . Two Dodges from Penske Racing started from the front row in last week’s Nationwide Series race at Montreal. Jacques Villeneuve claimed his first Nationwide pole in the No. 22 Dodge Challenger and teammate Alex Tagliani started second in the No. 12 Dodge Challenger.

DODGE IN THE NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES . Dodge is fielding two entries in the Nationwide Series this year from the Penske Racing stable. Sam Hornish Jr. joins teammate Brad Keselowski for a limited race schedule.

FROM THE CREW CHIEF . “Racing 750 miles at Bristol (the combined total of the Cup and Nationwide Series races this weekend) is hard on someone that isn’t injured the way Brad is and we all want him to get back to 100% as quickly as possible. We’re all pulling together to make sure we don’t miss a beat in his absence. Parker has already done a great job helping set up the Discount Tire Dodges several times this year when Brad couldn’t make it to practice, including Indianapolis where Brad was able to drive the car to victory. Parker has made a lot of strides as a driver. He had a great race at Bristol last year and I’m excited to work with him. Todd Gordon, crew chief, No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge

FROM THE DRIVER “Make no mistake, this is Brad Keselowski’s seat, but it is a big opportunity for me. It’s not often that drivers get the opportunity to jump into a championship-winning car. Therefore, I look forward to representing Discount Tire as best I can this weekend. Our last race together was Daytona last July and we hope to replicate the success that we had together there (Kligerman qualified second and finished 13th). Bristol is where I got my first top-10 in the Nationwide Series and I think with (crew chief) Todd Gordon and the guys building fast race cars, we can produce similar results. I appreciate Mr. Penske, Brad and everyone at Penske Racing for having the confidence in me to drive the Discount Tire Dodge Challenger at one of my favorite tracks.” Parker Kligerman, No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger R/T

  • Some comments deserve to be repeated – Michigan and Montreal

Some comments deserve to be repeated – Michigan and Montreal

During the NASCAR weekend, at both Michigan and Montreal,we observed a bizarre bad hair moment as well as the driver frustrations of trying to make the Sprint Cup Chase For The Championship line up.From that came several comments that deserved to be repeated. Here are just a few of them.

[media-credit name=”CIA Stock Photo” align=”alignright” width=”224″][/media-credit]In the moments that followed the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Montreal, Jerry Baxter was a very angry man. Baxter is the crew chief for Pastrana-Waltrip Racing’s Nationwide Series team. He was manning the pit box at Montreal for driver Patrick Carpentier. Baxter really wanted to help deliver a win, or at least a rock solid finish, for his driver because it was Carpentier’s final race before he officially retired from driving after spending 27 years in the sport.Sadly that didn’t happen. Carpentier found himself in an altercation with Nationwide Series regular Steve Wallace. The fact that Carpentier had to settle for a disappointing 32nd finish while Wallace survived the incident and moved on to finish fourth did not escape the notice of Baxter.

After the race Wallace was sitting in his car on pit road with the window net down and his helmet off. The ESPN Television cameras made quick work of presenting an angry Baxter charging towards the Wallace car. We all expected to see a right hook punch being thrown at the driver. Instead Baxter decided to pull Wallace’s hair. Once we all got over the surprise of this move it was actually pretty funny.

In the aftermath of this incident, Steve Wallace reminded us that “only girls pull hair.” Later, from his “Twitter” account, Wallace wrote: “my hair feels okay, a lil’ sore, ha ha.”

On the Tuesday following the race, Baxter issued a formal apology, issued by Pastrana-Waltrip Racing, that said: “I’m sorry for what happened after the race on Saturday, and I take full responsibility for my own actions. I called Steve and apologized. I was frustrated and let my emotions get to me.” Wallace responded with another “Tweet” that read: “just talked to Jerry Baxter, he’s going to give me my hair back, ha ha.”

Also weighing in on this issue was NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Kenny Wallace, the uncle of Steve Wallace, via his “Twitter” account. In his first message Kenny Wallace praised Baxter for his apology. Apparently someone sent Wallace a “Tweet” asking him what his brother Rusty Wallace, Steve’s dad and team owner, thought about this incident. Kenny Wallace responded with: “Rusty and Steve have THICK skin. Steve finished fourth. That’s what Rusty thinks”

This is not the first time Steve Wallace has found himself in the eye of a racing storm. He seems to thrive on it somehow and proved the point via another “Tweet” where he wrote: “cars run on fuel, I run on controversy and 5 Hour Energy, (his team sponsor), baby !”

    ***************

There are only three races left on the NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule before the official line up for the 2011 Sprint Cup Chase For The Championship. There are a handful of Cup drivers who are seriously feeling the stress of making that all important Chase line up with time running out. One of them is Tony Stewart, the owner-driver of Stewart-Haas Racing. Amazingly, Stewart is still seeking his first win of the 2011 season. Several weeks ago he was in the top five in the points standings and looking good to earn a Chase berth. Now he’s currently tenth in the points standings and worried about staying there so he can participate in the championship run. He has repeatedly blamed this nail biting situation on inconsistent team performances.

Despite a solid ninth place finish at the Michigan race, Stewart simply wasn’t happy and, in an eyebrow raising comment, said: “I will be perfectly honest, at this point of the deal, if we’re going to run this bad, it really doesn’t matter if we make the Chase or not. Our stuff is so bad right now, we’re wasting one of those 12 (Chase) spots right now.”

Some observers referred to this comment as a “meltdown.” Actually it’s not, Stewart was remarkably calm when he made that statement. Those of us who recall his early days in NASCAR, when he was driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, remember times when he was often referred to as “Tony The Terrible.” Now some of those moments were meltdowns.

    ***************

Also feeling the strain of making the Chase line up is driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. During the first quarter of the season NASCAR’s most popular driver was as high as third in the points standings and his massive fan club, known as “the Junior Nation”, was elated. Then a free fall began and Earnhardt now finds himself ninth in the standings and only six points ahead of Stewart. He was working on a needed top ten finish during the Michigan race. A late race caution set up the race’s green-white-checker finish. Prior to the restart Earnhardt was summoned to pit road by crew chief Steve Letarte for two tires and a splash of gas. It was a gamble that sadly didn’t work. The potential top ten turned into a 14th place finish.

After the race, Earnhardt diplomatically said “we probably shouldn’t have made that last pit stop.” Earnhardt said he was pretty much mired down in the field for the final restart adding “we took two tires like a lot of guys and just didn’t have the good fortune at the end of that green-white-checker. We were on the bottom behind the #00, (David Reutimann), and some other people that were slow as hell and just couldn’t go nowhere.”

    ***************

If Stewart and Earnhardt are feeling some major stress, then one has to think that Denny Hamlin may be getting a little frantic regarding his Chase aspirations. Hamlin was a heavy pre race favorite to win the Michigan race. He already has one win this year and a second win would have propelled him from 11th in the standings into the top ten. At the very least a win would have virtually locked down a wild card berth in the final Chase line up. Unfortunately disaster stuck for Hamlin when he smacked the wall during the Michigan race and he wound up with a devastating 35th place finish that dropped him from 11th to 14th in the points.

In the late 1960’s the Beatles came up with a great song that said:”I’ll get by with a little help from my friends.” After the Michigan race Hamlin received some very encouraging words from a very good friend: NBA basketball legend Michael Jordon. It seems that Hamlin and Jordon are not only very close friends they are also involved in some business investments with each other. Jordon sent his friend a text message that Hamlin shared with his fans on his “Twitter” page. That message read;”Tough day my friend. Still in this thing. Stay positive.”

That’s good advice for us all and it’s a comment that deserves to be repeated.

Toyota NASCAR Notes & Quotes Bristol August 2011

    TOYOTA NASCAR NOTES & QUOTES

    Week of August 22 – 28, 2011

TOYOTA TIDBITS KYLE CLINCHES CHASE SPOT:

Camry driver Kyle Buschwon the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Michigan International Speedway — clinching a spot in the Chase championship playoff.  Busch started 17th and led the field twice for a total of 22 laps.  Along with his victory at Michigan, Busch also has wins at Bristol (March 20), Richmond (April 30) and Kentucky (July 9) this season.  The win came in Busch’s 300th start in a Toyota and was his 80th victory across all three NASCAR series in a Toyota.

CENTENNIAL FOR CAMRY:  Sunday’s win by Busch at Michigan was the 100th win for a Toyota Camry in NASCAR competition.  Camry drivers have won 38 Sprint Cup Series races and 62 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) events since the start of the 2007 season.  Six drivers have registered NSCS wins in a Camry — Busch (19), Denny Hamlin (14), David Reutimann(2), Joey Logano(1), Tony Stewart (1) and Brian Vickers(1).  Seven drivers have registered NNS wins in a Camry — Busch (38), Logano (9), Hamlin (6), Stewart (5), Marcos Ambrose (2), Jason Leffler (1) and Reutimann (1).

BREAK OUT THE BROOM:  Camry driver Buschmade history last August at Bristol Motor Speedway by becoming the first driver to sweep all three NASCAR national touring series races — Camping World Truck Series, Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series events — at one race track in a single weekend.    Busch also swept the two races at Bristol earlier this season — giving him five consecutive race wins at the half-mile Tennessee track.  Busch has more NSCS victories at Bristol (five) than at any other track.  He also has three NNS wins and three NCWTS victories at Bristol.  Darrell Waltrip holds the record for the most wins at Bristol with 12, including seven consecutive wins.

WILL MIKE LIKE IT?:  Professional B.A.S.S. Elite Series competitor and Toyota angler Mike Iaconelliwill attend his first NASCAR race weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway in August.  The 2006 B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year and 2003 BassMaster Classic champion endures a travel schedule similar to a NASCAR driver — as he fishes in tournaments across the country from Feb. until Sept.  Iaconelli will take a weekend away from the lakes to take in the action at the half-mile Bristol bullring and meet race fans and Toyota NASCAR drivers.

MILESTONE FOR MIGUEL:  Tundra driver Miguel Paludomade his first career NCWTS start one year ago at Bristol Motor Speedway driving for Germain Racing.  The native of Nova Prata, Brazil, is competing in his first full season in the NCWTS and has now teamed with Red Horse Racing and is driving the No. 7 Tundra.  Paludo made four NCWTS starts in 2010, earning two top-10 results.  This week, Paludo returns to the half-mile Bristol track after earning his career-best finish in the NCWTS last week at Michigan International Speedway where he was third.  Paludo has earned three top-five finishes and four top-10 results this year.  Paludo and his wife, Patricia, welcomed their first child, Oliv er, on Monday morning.7

    NOTES, QUOTES & NUMBERS

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series(NSCS): Since the start of the 2011 season, Toyota drivers have combined for five victories, 28 top-five results, 52 top-10 finishes and have led 2,009 laps … After 24 races, Kyle Busch leads the series point standings and is the only driver locked into the Chase championship playoff with three races to go before the cutoff … Denny Hamlin (14th) is currently 59 points out of the 10th position, which would lock him into the Chase … Mike Ford, crew chief for the No. 11 Camry driven by Hamlin, is from Morristown, Tenn.  — 75 miles Southwest of Bristol.

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Doublemint Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing Is your team the one to watch in the Chase? “No.  There’s way too much that can happen, way too many laps to run, way too many miles to run.  Certainly, we’ve built ourselves into championship contenders this year and that’s where our strong suit has been up to this point, it’s just being able to be consistent or at least try to be consistent.  Bristol obviously being one of the best tracks for me, then going to Atlanta — not so great for me.  I have won there.  See if we can’t get a good run and win the Sprint Summer Showdown, win money for a fan and my foundation.  Going to Richmond — one of my favorites as well.  We’d love nothing more than to carry on our strong runs through the final 10 weeks.  It’s just a matter of being consistent.” What makes Bristol so unique and a place that fans love? “Bristol Motor Speedway is one of the best race tracks on the circuit.  All the fans love it because of the excitement, the run- ins, and the close-quarter action with all the cars being packed on top of one another at a half-mile race track with us 43 lunatics running around in a tight circle.  With the fans, the atmosphere there always makes for a good time.  We have the SAFER barrier on the outside wall taking up a little bit more racing room up off the corners since they’ve run the wall further down the straightaway.  But, it’s taking up some racing room and it makes the racing even tighter and we are probably going to see some more action.”

DAVE ROGERS, crew chief, No. 18 Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing What was it like in victory lane one year ago at Bristol? “Relief.  I went to Kyle’s (Busch) house prior to the 2010 racing season and we went up in his trophy room and my two boys were with me and he has the collection of Bristol trophies there and I was joking with one of my boys and said, ‘You know boys, some crew chiefs say that all you have to do is bring Kyle Busch to Bristol and you’ll get one of these.’  I patted the top of the trophy and that is the perception and somewhat a true perception.  The kid can get it done in anything.  It adds a tremendous amount of pressure to the race team when you’re expected to win.  Just sitting in victory lane the only thing I could think was, ‘Wow, we did what we were supposed to do, what a relief.”

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing Are you confident you can turn your team around and be effective in the Chase? “I won eight races last year, I’m pretty sure that I’m capable.  Mike Ford (crew chief) is capable and the team itself.  You know, you look at every driver’s career who were second to Jimmie Johnson — these kind of years happen.  It hasn’t happened to me in five years.  This is the first time where I’ve struggled and we’re struggling to find the balance of the car that I want.  Mike is struggling to find what I need to put what he needs to put in the car for me to run well.  It’s just a part of it.  Kyle Busch won eight races, failed to make the Chase the next year.  It’s just part of learning.  I’m not going to make any excuses and I’m not going to sugar-coat it because it’s on me to try to get better at this one.”

NASCAR Nationwide Series(NNS):  During the 2011 season, Toyota drivers have combined for eight wins, 26 top-five results, 63 top-10 finishes and have led 1,270 laps … Kenny Wallace (seventh) is the top Toyota driver in the NNS point standings … Steve Wallace (eighth), Brian Scott (ninth) and Michael Annett (10th) are also in the top-10 in the standings … S. Wallace earned his career-best finish of fourth in last week’s road course race in Montreal …  Kevin Kidd, crew chief on the No. 11 Camry for Brian Scott, is from Tazewell, Va.  — 75 miles Northeast of Bristol.

JASON RATCLIFF, crew chief, No. 18 Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing How much pressure do you feel heading into a weekend where Kyle Busch will run  three races at one race track? “There’s always that added pressure because you don’t want to be the reason that he (Kyle Busch) wasn’t able to do it (sweep) again.  You look at that and you know in the back of your mind that there’s a chance here to do something even bigger and better and greater than just what our initial goal was, and that was to show up at this race track and take the trophy home.  You’re always looking at things like that and it’s just like last year, one of our goals was to get the most wins in a season and we were able to do that.  You get right there to that one final step that you have to take and you’ve got to be successful at it to make it happen.  It’s no different than him running all three series in one weekend.  You want to do the best you can and it’s an opportunity for him to go out there and get that ‘three-peat’ and you want it as much for him as anything.   You make sure that you give 110 percent in everything you do.”

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series(NCWTS):  Since the start of the 2011 NCWTS season, Tundra drivers have registered eight wins, 25 top-five results, 46 top-10 finishes and have led 795 laps … After 15 races, Timothy Peters (fourth) is the top Toyota driver in the NCWTS points standings — 12 points behind leader Johnny Sauter … Tundra drivers have won five of the seven NCWTS races they have competed in at Bristol since joining the series in 2004 … Three drivers have visited victory lane at Bristol in a Tundra — Kyle Busch (2010, 2009 and 2008), Johnny Benson (2007) and Mike Skinner (2005).

MIGUEL PALUDO, No. 7 Stemco Duroline Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing What do you think of your first year in the Truck Series? “I love the Truck Series.  The competition is very strong and you have to put in your best each lap or you will get behind.  I am learning by competing with the veteran drivers in the series and the Cup Series drivers that come over to compete.  I have just been trying to soak in as much information as possible.  I am very happy at how far we have come.  Our goal this year is still to win a race and we came very close last weekend in Michigan.  I just look forward to more runs like that.”

TIMOTHY PETERS, No. 17 Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing How do you feel about your bid for the championship? “I still feel it is too early to be thinking about the championship.  It is always something that is on our minds, but we have to race each race and let the points take care of themselves.  Our goal obviously is to take home the hardware in Homestead, but we are just taking one race at a time.”

BRENDAN GAUGHAN, No. 62 South Point Hotel and Casino Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing Do you enjoy racing at Bristol? “I love Bristol.  It’s the Roman Coliseum of racing.  The banking is really high, the grandstands go on forever.  The place is very cool.  I’m not a big short track racer, but Bristol doesn’t count as a short track to me.  I love it.  I’ve had some of my best career races there and I think the momentum this South Point Hotel & Casino Tundra team has should give us a shot at a strong finish Wednesday night.”

Roush Fenway’s ‘Fastenal Fleet’ Ready to Roll at Bristol Motor Speedway

CONCORD, N.C. (August 23, 2011) – For the second time this season, Fastenal will sponsor all three Roush Fenway entries in a single NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race, this time at famed half-mile concrete oval of Bristol Motor Speedway.

Fastenal’s blue and white colors will be featured on three of the fastest cars in the series. The all-star lineup includes the No. 60 Fastenal Ford Mustang driven by series champion Carl Edwards, who has already racked up five NNS victories this season (including four with Fastenal as the primary sponsor); the No. 6 Fastenal Ford Mustang of NNS points leader Ricky Stenhouse Jr.; and the No. 16 Fastenal Ford Mustang driven by 2011 Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne.

“Last time we ran three Fastenal cars at Charlotte it worked out great, so hopefully it will go just as well in Bristol,” said Edwards. “Fastenal has been an amazing partner. They are great guys, they are great to work with, and they love racing. There couldn’t be a better place to run the Fastenal fleet than the night race at Bristol.”

So far in 2011 the three drivers have combined for seven NNS wins, 26 top-fives, 43 top-10s and seven poles, while leading 1,676 laps. The “Fastenal Fleet” will look to repeat its success at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, when the No. 16, No. 60 and No. 6 Fastenal Ford Mustangs finished first, second and fourth respectively, with Kenseth driving the No. 16 car to victory.

“As a sponsor, you can’t do much better than we did at Charlotte,” said Cory Jansen, Fastenal’s Executive Vice President, Operations. “Still, with drivers like Carl, Ricky and Trevor, you can’t rule out the possibility of 1-2-3 finish on Friday night.”

Roush Fenway boasts five wins in the Nationwide Series at Bristol, while posting 20 top-five and 26 top-10 finishes; leading over 1,300 laps in NNS action.

Each car will promote a different market offering from Fastenal, a national distributor of industrial and construction supplies. Edwards’ No. 60 car will display the logos of Fastenal and its top suppliers. Stenhouse Jr.’s No. 6 will feature Fastenal’s industrial vending technology as well as the company’s exclusive FMT™ cutting tool brand. And Bayne’s No. 16 will display Fastenal’s exclusive Body Guard™ safety products brand.

Friday’s (August 26) race will be televised live on ESPN at 7:00 p.m. EST.

    QUOTES

Stenhouse, Jr. on racing at Bristol Motor Speedway:

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO AT BRISTOL? WHAT APPEALS TO YOU ABOUT THE RACING THERE? “It’s just hard racing and I feel like it’s a driver’s racetrack and we were really fast there the last time. We sat on the pole and we were the only one that could run with Kyle [Busch] for 160 laps until we made a mistake and got a penalty there on pit road [under caution]. Just really looking forward to getting back there. I think we’ve made our cars better since the last time we were there and I think we’ve got a really good shot at winning that race.”

Crew chief Mike Kelley on racing at Bristol Motor Speedway:

“We sat on the pole and ran up front earlier this year at Bristol before receiving a penalty on pit road. We are going back there to redeem ourselves. Hopefully we can get the Coors Light pole, stay up front and get this Fastenal Ford to victory lane.”

    FAST FACTS

o So far in 2011, Stenhouse, Jr. has two wins, ten top-fives, 17 top-tens, and three poles.
