Sauter Pickin’ & Grinnin’ As He Heads to Nashville

    News & Notes

Sandusky, Ohio – April 21, 2011 – Johnny Sauter, driver of the No. 13 Safe Auto/Curb Records Chevrolet Silverado for ThorSport Racing, comes to Nashville with a huge grin on his face. It has been a few good weeks, according to the driver. Not only did he celebrate in Martinsville as the Kroger 250 winner, but his wife Cortney also gave birth to second child – and first daughter – Paige Gertrude. Rolling into Music City, Sauter helps Curb Records celebrate Mike Curb’s 500th start alongside the Ronald Reagan Centennial and Safe Auto.

“I’ve had some banner weeks here right now, and wow, what a feeling,” said Sauter. “I said in the NASCAR cam interview yesterday that it just feels like everything is going right for us this year with my guys, and winning solves everything in racing. So the momentum we have coming into Nashville is really important – and I want another Gibson guitar. I got one in ASA Racing at the old Fairgrounds – and I’d love to have one in NASCAR.”

    Visiting Gibson Guitars

As part of his Nashville week, Sauter will visit the Gibson Guitar Factory alongside Sam Bass, designer of the trophy guitars, and fellow NASCAR drivers on the circuit. “It’s a special trophy to win,” he said. “Every driver has two or three of the ‘big ones’ that he or she wants to win. The Nashville Gibson guitar has to be up there on every single one of our lists. Ask anyone. So this is a neat opportunity and pretty special to be invited – Gibson has never opened up their factory to show how it’s all done to NASCAR drivers before. I feel like it makes it all more worthwhile if I can make it to Victory Lane – plus bringing one home for Mike Curb on his 500th start in his hometown.”

DODGE SPEAKS “We’ve spent the last year redefining and building the Dodge brand. Now we’re going to show customers what the future of Dodge will look like. At Dodge, we’re passionate about driving; we look forward to it. We think a car should have a personality, be powerful and fun. We’re going to put that Dodge mojo into the entire lineup, from compact cars to minivans to SUVs and everything in between.” Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – Dodge Car brand, Chrysler Group LLC

DODGE QUOTES: Nashville 300 “I always look forward to going to Nashville Superspeedway. It has always been one of my favorite race tracks. You can really be aggressive because there is so much room to race. Obviously, it’s a special place for me because I won my first Nationwide Series race there in 2008. We came back in the second race there last year and had one of the best cars we had all year. It didn’t qualify that well, but I was pretty confident that we would win the race. I never like to pick favorite tracks, but Nashville is a place that I feel like I can go there on any given night and win. There is always a big contingent of employees from Discount Tire at Nashville that know how to get everyone fired up. I can’t wait.”

Brad Keselowski, No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger R/T

FROM THE PITBOX “Nashville is pretty unique in that it is almost a 1.5-mile track, but it’s concrete. Most of our concrete tracks aren’t speedways, so that provides a few challenges. Everybody will fight for the bottom of the track at the start of the race, but the groove will widen as the cars run. Most importantly, you need to have a car that is balanced for long and short green-flag runs. There is usually a caution with a few laps remaining that will setup a shootout to the finish, so you have to be prepared for that. Brad has been very good at Nashville in his career and we need to give him a car that he can use to pick up his third Gibson guitar (winner’s trophy).” Todd Gordon, Crew Chief, No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger R/

JR MOTORSPORTS TEAM PREVIEW   No. 88 GT Vodka Chevrolet / No. 7 NASCAR The Game 2011 Chevrolet

    EVENT – Nashville 300 (225 laps / 300 miles) TRACK – Nashville Superspeedway (1.33-mile D-shaped oval) DATE – Saturday, April 23, 2011 TV / RADIO – ESPN (coverage begins at 2 p.m. EST) / MRN (broadcast begins at 2:30 p.m. EST)

Aric Almirola No. 88 GT Vodka Chevrolet “Nashville creates such a different challenge for us with the limited banking we have there. The fact that it’s concrete is good because the track doesn’t change much temperature wise. It’s also our first stand-alone race away from the Cup guys, so there will be a lot of attention on the Nationwide regular drivers this week. I really just want to come out of there with a solid finish with our GT Vodka Chevrolet and have a good point’s day.”

What would you do with the guitar trophy if you won it? “I definitely want to take that trophy home, but I’m not into playing guitar. I’ve tried to play, and I always thought it would be cool, but I just can’t seem to make my fingers work that way. I’d probably just set it on the shelf and look at it. It would be an awesome addition to my trophy collection.”

Josh Wise No. 7 NASCAR The Game 2011 Chevrolet “Nashville is a unique place for us to run at. The size of it and it being concrete, sets it apart a little bit. It kind of presents some new challenges compared to some of the other tracks we go to. Even though the fastest groove is on the bottom and it’s pretty much a one groove racetrack, there are still a lot of ways to go through the corner and make the car work. There are a lot of different ways to lift, use the brake and work the throttle. It’s fun.”

What would you do with the guitar trophy if you won it? “If I won the guitar I would for sure play it! I mean, that is what it’s made for, right?  I love to play guitar. It has really become a relaxing hobby. So it would be a perfect trophy for me.”

[media-credit name=”RWR.com” align=”alignright” width=”232″][/media-credit]–Michigan Company to Serve as Primary Sponsor in Debut of Third Entry for RWR–

MOORESVILLE, NC (April 20, 2011)- Officials of Rusty Wallace Racing (RWR) announced today that Flatout Flatbread will serve as primary sponsor of the team’s No. 64–piloted by David Reutimann–in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Nashville Superspeedway.

Michigan-based Flatout sells tasty and healthy flatbreads in deli and bakery sections of nearly all major grocery retailers and drug chains across the country. Flatout is the fastest growing bread in America.

The Nashville race will mark the first time that RWR has fielded three cars in a Nationwide Series race. Pairing Reutimann and the Nashville venue with a sponsor whose name includes “flat-out” seems appropriate for the event; Reutimann’s Nationwide Series record at Nashville includes three top-fives and six top-tens in eight attempts.

Stated RWR team owner Rusty Wallace, “We’re really excited to debut a third car this weekend with David Reutimann aboard. It should provide our team with yet another very good source of feedback on our cars. I’d really like to thank the folks at Flatout Flatbread for sponsoring David and the No. 64 team in Nashville. Hopefully their “flat-out” name will rub off on our guys this weekend.”

     TOYOTA TIDBITS

TALLADEGA TALES:  Camry drivers swept the top-three positions in last Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at Alabama’s Talladega Superspeedway.  Kyle Busch drove his Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) Camry to victory lane, and was followed to the finish line by his JGR teammate Joey Logano (second) and Joe Nemechek (third).  In Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event, Logano was the top Toyota with a 10th-place result at the 2.66-mile race track.

NATIONWIDE AT NASHVILLE:  Camry drivers Logano (April) and Busch (June) earned a pair of Gibson guitar NNS trophies at Nashville Superspeedway in 2009.  In addition to his win at the track, Logano has two pole positions at the 1.33- mile concrete oval — one last spring and another in June 2008.  Busch started from the pole in April 2008.

TUNDRAS IN TUNE TOWN:  Toyota drivers have five victories in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) at Nashville, including a sweep of last season’s races.  A year ago, Busch picked up a first-place trophy in the spring race and Todd Bodine was first to the checkered flag in the summer event.  David Reutimann (2005) and Johnny Benson (2006 and 2008) also have NCWTS wins in the ‘Music City.’

HAMLIN’S CHARITY RACE:  Toyota driver Denny Hamlin will host his ‘Short Track Showdown’ at Virginia’s Richmond International Speedway next Thursday, April 28.  Among the NSCS drivers who will join Hamlin in the race are Busch, Kasey Kahne, Logano and Michael Waltrip.  The charity event, which will benefit the Denny Hamlin Foundation, will begin immediately following the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) event at the three-quarter-mile race track. Toyota will sponsor the Fan Zone at the Hamlin ‘Short Track Showdown.’

REVOLUTION RUNDOWN:  Revolution Racing’s Sergio Pena earned his first career victory in last Sunday’s weather- delayed NKNPE event at Virginia’s South Boston Speedway.  The win was the third in the last 12 races for a Drive for Diversity (D4D) driver, and the first East win since the team began utilizing Toyotas during the off-season.

NOTES, QUOTES & NUMBERS NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS):  Since the start of the 2011 season, Toyota drivers have combined for one victory, five top-five results, 14 top-10 finishes and have led 704 laps … After eight races, Kyle Busch is sixth in the NSCS point standings, trailing leader Carl Edwards by 38 points … Denny Hamlin (17th), Kasey Kahne (18th) and Martin Truex Jr. (19th) are also in the top-20 in the standings … The NSCS takes this weekend off, before returning to action Sat., April 30 at Virginia’s Richmond International Raceway … Camry driver Bobby Labonte will host and participate in the Bobby Labonte Foundation ‘Share the Road Memorial Ride’ to benefit the Bikes Belong Foundation and Habitat for Humanity … The charity ride will take place Sat., April 23, beginning in Archdale, N.C., with 25 and 50 mile routes through Randolph County .

BOBBY LABONTE, No. 47 Kingsford Toyota Camry, JTG-Daugherty Racing What led you to host a bike ride for charity? “We wanted to have an event to benefit the community and at the same time bring awareness to the need for motorists and cyclists to share the road responsibly.  This gives cyclists a chance to come together to pay tribute to their friends and fellow cyclists.  Cycling is something I am very passionate about.  We’re expecting around 250 riders on Saturday.  It will be a really special day for all of us.”

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing What does it mean to host a charity race in your hometown? “It’s good because there are so many hometown fans and race fans I know in that area that when a Cup race is on Saturday night, but their local short track is on the Saturday night — they’re there watching the local heroes.  For me, I know the hardcore fans are right there in the Richmond-area and that’s why I know we’ll have a great turnout and raise a lot of money.”

NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS):  Since the start of the 2011 season, Toyota drivers have combined for four wins, eight top-five results, 18 top-10 finishes and have led 657 laps … Brian Scott (eighth, -27 points) is the top Toyota driver in the NNS point standings … Kenny Wallace (ninth), Joe Nemechek (10th), Michael Annett (12th) and Steve Wallace (13th) are also in the top-15 in the standings … Rusty Wallace Racing (RWR) will run the No. 64 Camry in a partial schedule this year, beginning with David Reutimann at Nashville … David Stremme and Jason Bowles will also share time in the RWR No. 64 … Race fans can put their name on a special ‘fan car’ to be run by K. Wallace later this season (Charlotte, Oct. 14) by logging onto kennywallace.com and donating $20.

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Z-Line Designs Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing Do you enjoy racing at Nashville? “The race track is real finicky.  It’s a fun place.  It’s a 1.33-mile, and yet it feels more like a short track almost.  You got real long straightaways, real fast speeds and you get down in the corner and you have to use a lot of brake, but yet there’s a lot of grip because of the concrete surface and the tire that Goodyear brings there.  With the Trucks and the Nationwide cars being there on the same weekend, I like it because it gives you a little bit — it’s kind of like a Nationwide-Cup weekend.  It gives you a little bit more track time, kind of gives you maybe a little bit of an advantage.  I enjoy the back and forth stuff.  And, Nashville being a standalone non-Cup weekend, seems to be a little bit more relaxing and a little bit easier.”

KENNY WALLACE, No. 09 Toyota Camry, RAB Racing with Brack Mallard Do you feel you can be successful at Nashville? “This particular race track — an all concrete track — has been good to me.  I have a couple second-place finishes over the years, of course I haven’t run great there the last three or four years, but I truly am looking forward to going to Nashville and finishing in the top-five.  I am excited about it — I love the race track.  It’s a beautiful facility with easy access to the interstate.  There’s not a lot of drama — you’re in and out.  I would really like to see the grandstands a little bit fuller this time so we can keep racing there.”

Is the April race at Nashville different than the summer race? “They’re all a little different.  What happens is you go early in the year when everything is a little bit cooler and then what happens is all the race tracks, kind of like your yard at home, heat sinks in and the grass starts burning up, so the second time we go to the race tracks, it’s really warm.  Just because you ran well the first time doesn’t mean you’re going to run well the second time.  You always come the second time prepared for something different.”

DAVID REUTIMANN, No. 64 Toyota Camry, Rusty Wallace Racing Why are you going to race this weekend instead of taking time off? “We’re going to go and run the Nationwide race.  No sense in having an off-weekend.  When you enjoy racing there is nothing better.  The opportunity just kind of looked like it presented itself where we could go and run Nashville.  I really, really like Nashville a lot.  That’s one of my favorite race tracks, so hopefully we’ll  be able to go there and have the possibility of doing well.”

How did the opportunity to race this weekend come about? “Rusty (Wallace) gave me a call and asked if I would be interested in maybe doing something, and I was like, ‘Yeah.’   Heck, to drive for Rusty Wallace would be a cool opportunity.  It’s a pretty cool opportunity that he’s given us and they’re going to take a third car and do a little experimenting on the thing.  Just trying some different setups and stuff like that and hopefully be able to make all of the cars better.  Not that I’m going to have anything to do with that — they are just letting me drive.” NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS):  Since the start of the 2011 NCWTS season, Tundra drivers have registered three wins, eight top-five results, 13 top-10 finishes and have led 291 laps … Six Toyota drivers are currently in the top-15 in the NCWTS points after four of 25 races — Timothy Peters (third, -7 points), Todd Bodine (eighth), Max Papis (ninth), Miguel Paludo (10th), Brendan Gaughan (13th) and Craig Goess Jr. (15th) … Nine-year-old Spring Hill, Tenn.- native Dalton Griffin will be ‘Riding Shotgun with Kyle Busch Motorsports’ after submitting an essay about receiving his first trophy from the Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby in his third year competing … Griffin’s photo and name will be visible on the passenger side of the No. 18 Dollar General Tundra piloted by Busch.

TODD BODINE, No. 30 Germain.com Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing Is Nashville Superspeedway similar to any other race track? “The surface, the banking and the corners all separate Nashville from the other intermediate tracks.  The concrete racing surface is the single biggest difference from the other 1.5-mile tracks — they are all asphalt.  The concrete doesn’t change from day to night as much or throughout the race as rubber gets put down on it.  What that means is the better you can get your Tundra handling in practice, the more consistent it will be in the race.”

BRENDAN GAUGHAN, No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing Do you enjoy racing at Nashville? “Nashville’s always been a good track for me going back to my earliest days in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. I’ve rarely had a bad race at the track.  Nashville is the start of us being back to tracks that are good for me and for Germain Racing.  I like the concrete surface and banking at Nashville — it suits my driving style.  It’s a fast track.  I like rolling the corners and driving into the corners real hard.  We’re coming into a stretch of tracks where I kind of look at them and see the string of bigger tracks that I feel as a driver I am better at than other places.”

Leader of the pack… With 15th-place finish last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, Leffler regained control of the NNS point standings. The rest of the top-five in the standings includes Justin Allgaier (-2), Elliott Sadler (-5), Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. (-8) and Reed Sorenson (-9).

Got My First Real Six String… In hopes of bringing home the custom Gibson guitar trophy on Friday night,Leffler and his Turner Motorsports teammates will take a private tour of the Gibson Guitar Factory in Nashville on Thursday afternoon. The home of Gibson electric guitars, ‘Gibson USA’ was built in ‘Music City’ in 1974.

Start of a new era for Turner Motorsports… The 2011 season marks the start of a new era for Turner Motorsports. The team has expanded in 2011 from a two-truck operation in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) to become the largest stand-alone multi-series team in NASCAR’s top-tier touring series, fielding three entries in the NCWTS and four entries in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS). Three of the team’s regular NNS drivers (Jason Leffler, Reed Sorenson and Justin Allgaier) have been pegged as viable contenders to win the 2011 NNS driver championship.

Happy 10-Year Anniversary, Great Clips… This season marks Great Clips’ 10-year anniversary as a primary sponsor in the NNS. The Minneapolis-based Great Clips, Inc., which is currently the longest-running primary sponsor in the series, came onto the scene in 2001 as a primary sponsor of Akins Motorsports No. 38 entry, then driven by Christian Elder.

Leffler on Racing at Nashville Superspeedway

“I always enjoy going back to Nashville. I have great memories of the place, having got my first Nationwide Series win there back in 2004. It’s funny though, I have definitely had my fair share of highs and lows at Nashville – winning in 2004 and going back the next time and suffering an engine failure. It seems like I either finish really good there or have some sort of mechanical failure. I don’t see that being a problem this time around, not with the equipment this Turner Motorsports team provides. We just need to capitalize on our previous success at this track by qualifying up front, running a smooth race and being there at the end to contend for the win. I already have one customized Gibson guitar trophy but I would love another one to add to the collection for my son, Charlie! There is a lot to be said for momentum in this sport and we are definitely riding a strong wave of it right now.”

BROOKLYN, Mich. (April 20, 2011) — It’s simple. Receive a golden ticket in your ticket mailing and receive an experience like none other at Michigan International Speedway.

For the second consecutive year, MIS and its Fan Appreciation Program is giving away hundreds of experiences to randomly selected fans in their ticket mailings and print at home orders with special ‘golden tickets.’

More than 800 of MIS’ guests are slated to receive prizes over the next several weeks.

The Fan Appreciation Program began giving away experiences when it was launched in 2008, with the golden ticket extension of the program beginning in 2010.

Experiences include special VIP access, which include pre-race ceremonies and driver introductions, pace car rides and more for both the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 weekend, June 17-19, and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 400 weekend on August 19-21.

The track even sent a couple of fans to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas.

“We pride ourselves on giving our fans the best possible experiences when they are here through our Fan Appreciation Program,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “This golden ticket program is exciting because we randomly draw names and send upgrades to them in their ticket mailings. We are giving away some really great experiences for both the June and August race weekends so be on the lookout. You could be selected!”

If fans receive a golden ticket, depending on the experience awarded, they must redeem it at the Fan Appreciation booth, located near the flag pole in the center of the New Holland Fan Plaza. Instructions on where to redeem will be provided on the back of the golden ticket.

Fans may also visit www.MISpeedway.com/fanappreciationfor details on their upgrade.

In 2010, MIS took its Fan Appreciation Program to another level by developing a Fan Trophy, which was presented on behalf of the fans to race winners Denny Hamlin (June) and Kevin Harvick (August). The crew members of the winning race teams also received a smaller version of the Fan Trophy, congratulating them on their achievements. The Fan Trophy was presented along with the sponsor trophy after the conclusion of the race.

Michelle Graves of Wyoming, Mich. presented a fan trophy to race winner Denny Hamlin in Gatorade Victory Lane last June through the Fan Appreciation Program. For Graves and her son Caleb (then 8 years old), it was an experience of a lifetime.

“Words can’t explain what a wonderful experience it was to present the winning trophy to Denny Hamlin on behalf of the fans,” Graves said. “It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for my son and I. Being in Gatorade Victory Lane and being that close to everything was so special. I can’t say enough about how great it was to do something like that.”

Curtis and his staff are committed to providing its fans with memorable experiences while they visit MIS each summer and the Fan Appreciation Program is an extension of that commitment. Fan feedback has also played an important role in many of the $60 million worth of facility improvements that the speedway has invested over the last few years as well as the creation of the Fan Advisory Board (FAB) and Fan Advisory Network (FAN), which weighs in on many MIS initiatives.

“It’s important for us to show our fans how much we appreciate them for choosing Michigan International Speedway during both good and bad economic times,” Curtis said. “You can’t buy loyalty — you earn it. So we’re continuing to show fans how much their loyalty means to us by providing opportunities that are unique experiences that will create lasting memories of their time at MIS.”   Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is the Great Escape, a venerable NASCAR national park where fans can get away and enjoy the very best in racing and camaraderie. It’s the love of racing and the thrill of a great time for race fans and drivers alike.

  • MATT CRAFTON NASHVILLE NCWTS PREVIEW

    MATT CRAFTON NASHVILLE NCWTS PREVIEW

Sandusky, Ohio – April 20, 2011 – Matt Crafton, driver of the No. 88 Menards/Ideal Door Chevrolet Silverado for ThorSport Racing, sums up Nashville in two words. Fired up. The veteran driver, on a quest for the championship in 2011, looks in the rearview at an 11th place finish in Martinsville and knows it’s time to prove how his team can perform this year at Nashville and beyond. Sitting second in driver points contention going into the race, as well as one top five and five top 10s in eleven apperances – a seventh place finish or better in the last three races – he knows what is possible.

“Yep, I’m fired up. There is no other way to say it. Me and my guys were seeing red, blood red, after Martinsville,” said Crafton. “We knew we were a better team than that performance, especially this year. It takes perfection at the race track week in, week out to beat the field in this environment in the Truck Series. We know we can do it. So I told my guys this week when I flew to Sandusky – ‘we are going to finish where we left off in Martinsville.’ We are, and we will, prove that we can win races and hopefully win championships with consistent performances.”

ThorSport Racing Sets Standard in 2011

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series recently reported that “ThorSport Racing is, arguably, the team to beat in 2011.” Crafton is five points away from the leader spot where his teammate, Johnny Sauter sits. Crafton has been atop the standings for the first four races of the season.

Nashville Superspeedway’s Bully Hill Vineyards 200 marks ThorSport Racing’s 327th consecutive race, matching that of Circle Bar Racing for second all-time. Crafton has been a part of the organization since 2001, one of the longest-standing driver/team owner relationships in the Series. That determination and loyalty sits well with the driver and his confidence on the race track.

“I say this all the time – Duke and Rhonda Thorson are like second parents to me. Duke and I talk on the phone sometimes twice a day, just talking about life,” says Crafton. “They are such a strong, supportive leadership team for all of their drivers. I am so confident going to the track that they ‘have my back,’ in however we perform. So me and my guys know on the 88 that we have a responsibility to that family. The Menards family, and also the ThorSport family. This can be our year.”

He went on to say that it’s time to really tackle this track. “It’s no secret that I really love asphalt tracks, and I’m pretty outspoken about it. Concrete is a challenge. But again, we really are not just competitive this year, but ready to win races at any track. We’re bringing the No. 35 chassis for the 88 team – used most recently at Darlington. It was strong there, and Bud and I have worked on it since. Time to race and show how we can make it happen in Nashville. I want a Gibson guitar.”

  • David Starr Loves Everything About Nashville

David Starr Loves Everything About Nashville

Nashville Superspeedway boasts one of the most unique trophies in the NASCAR Racing. Winners take home a Sam Bass hand painted Gibson guitar rather than the traditional trophy; it’s a Nashville tradition that has gone on for many years dating back to races at the old Nashville Fairgrounds. Being a big fan of Country music, SS Green Light Racing’s David Starr hopes to be the next driver to bring home the coveted guitar when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visits the concrete track on Friday night for the Lucas Deep Clean 200.

It’s been three weeks since Starr and the SS Green Light Racing team hit the track together, but both driver and team have kept busy over the break in the schedule. David participated in his first ever Sprint Cup race at Texas two weeks ago and the SS Green Light team won one of the largest Late Model races in recent history when Chris Eggleston took the checkers at the Pro All Star Series $75,000 to win “The Race” at North Wilkesboro. The exciting news has everyone in the SS Green Light shop eager to return to action in the NCWTS.

When Starr and the Zachry Toyota take the green flag it will mark the 250th consecutive start in the NCWTS for co-owner and General Manager Bobby Dotter with the SS Green Light team. The streak began back in 2001 at Daytona and will continue on the concrete mile and a third speedway on Friday night.

“It’s a great track, Nashville has to rank right up there with one of my favorite tracks on the Truck Series,” said an excited Starr. “Being from Texas and being a huge country music fan it’s always fun to go to the city of Nashville because of all the country stars that are there and come out to the track. The Nashville Superspeedway really lays out the red carpet for the drivers in the Truck Series.”

“Man, that concrete track is awesome, it’s fun to race at. The facility is first class, I love everything about racing at Nashville,” Starr continued. “It’s just a great, great, great speedway and the races are always good.

“We are ready to go back after it; both the SS Green Light Racing team and our Zachry Toyota Tundra. After so much bad luck the first four races we are really looking to get that monkey off our back and get our season turned around. Our Tundra’s have been fast and handled well, we’ve just had some bad luck and we are ready to finally get this season kicked off with some good luck, we are looking forward to Friday night.”

“Jason (Miller) and the guys in the shop are excited, I’m excited and hopefully we can be right there at the end contending for that guitar.”

Allegro Marinades will join ASI Limited as an associate sponsor on Starr’s Zachry Tundra at Nashville Superspeedway. “Allegro products are just delicious and they are manufactured right down the road in Paris, TN so it’s pretty cool to have them onboard for the Nashville race,” added David.

In ten career NCWTS starts at the Nashville Superspeedway, David has three top-fives and four top-tens highlighted by a second place run in 2004. His average start is 13.4 and average finish is 10.5, completing an impressive 99.7% of the laps.

The Lucas Deep Clean 200 is the 250th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team and the 270th career start for Starr in the series.

There are 39 trucks on the preliminary entry list for the Lucas Deep Clean 200.

Practice for the NCWTS Lucas Deep Clean 200 will be Friday, April 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Qualifying will be at 4:10 p.m. and the Lucas Oil 200 will be shown live on SPEED TV at 7:00 p.m. All times Central. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR Channel 128-XM104.
