  • Bayne signs with Roush for remainer of 2010

According to Jayski.com, just one week after getting released from Diamond Waltrip Racing, 19 year old sensation Trevor Bayne has signed to drive with Roush Fenway Racing for the remained of the season in the Nationwide series season.

In a bizarre move last week, Bayne was released after turning some heads in his first full season in the Nationwide Series. Bayne has five top fives and ten top tens with three poles.

Bayne will piolet Roush Fenway’s No. 17 Roush Fenway Racing Ford this weekend in the Kansas Lottery 300. He will have to qualify in on time for the second time in his young career.

Jack Roush, co-owner of Roush Fenway Racing said “If we can help him protect his driver point standing going into 2011 that certainly will be a credit for all of us as well as for him. Right now, we’re trying to figure out how we can help him in that regard, but Trevor is 19 years old and he’s established himself in the rare air of Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards in terms of the talent and potential they showed at a young age. We’re looking forward to helping him develop his potential.”

Bayne seems excited about the situation as well “I am just really excited to have the opportunity to drive. We are looking forward to a great relationship with Roush Fenway, and I’m eager to go racing with Jack Roush and everyone at the organization. I can’t wait to get everything started this weekend in Kansas,” said Bayne on Roush Fenway Racing’s website.

The sources also say that Bayne is a leading candidate for Richard Petty Motorsports No. 19 Ford in the Sprint Cup Series next year. Petty announced early in the week he was looking at keeping his third team around saying “If we are downgrading from four teams to three teams we still got plenty of everything it would take to run a third car.”

  • Beware of Joe Gibbs Racing Entering the Kansas Speedway

Beware of Joe Gibbs Racing Entering the Kansas Speedway

It’s never wise to show up to a racetrack on any given weekend and believe that as a competitor you won’t have to deal with Joe Gibbs Racing in some way, shape or form.

In 28 NASCAR Nationwide Series events JGR has won 13 of them. In 28 Sprint Cup Series events they’ve gone to victory lane nine times in 2010. Heading to the Midwest this weekend it may end up being an all JGR party as they prepare to dominate the Kansas Speedway.

The organization comes off a weekend in Dover that saw success for each of their three drivers. On Saturday it was Kyle Busch who broke the NNS all-time wins mark by scoring his 11th of the season. It would be foolish to think that Busch is done winning when there are still races left to be run.

Sunday was also a great day for JGR, for starters all three drivers finished in the top 10 of the AAA 400. All eyes were first on point leader Denny Hamlin who was looking to survive at a track that hasn’t been kind to him in the past. After trading words and paint with RCR on Friday and Saturday, Hamlin didn’t lead a lap on Sunday but came home with a ninth place finish.

More importantly he kept the point lead and is still in control of his own destiny as he tries to win his first NSCS title.

The youngest member of the JGR team and 2009 Rookie of the Year, Joey Logano, led the JGR charge. Logano ran a smart and smooth race, avoiding going end over end like he did a year ago and finish third. It was Logano’s 11th top 10 finish and fourth top five.

Then there was Busch, who was looking to sweep the season at the Monster Mile. He led on three different occasions for 46 laps before finishing sixth. His fourth win of the year would have to wait but the finish kept the No. 18 third in points behind teammate Hamlin and Jimmie Johnson, 45 points out of first.

Next comes Kansas where the trio has all won before, be it in the NNS. Busch and Logano will team on Saturday where they’ll look to again sweep the top two positions as they have done on numerous occasions. Logano was already looking forward to Kansas before the haulers had even left Dover.

“If were able to get the car going, (we’d) have a chance to stay with Kyle and everyone else,” he said. “But it just takes us too long to come around, and we have too much ground to make up when we do.

“The cars we are bringing to the track are good,” Logano continued. “We just need to get them that much better to beat Kyle and the No. 18 team. Kyle is a great driver, and you can’t give him any sort of edge. If you do, he’ll put a whipping on you.”

The JGR pair has put on a show in the NNS in the past. Including last weekend in Dover, Logano has finished second to Busch four times, three of them coming this season. On two occasions Logano got the best of Busch, including this race a year ago, which Busch doesn’t want to happen again.

Logano is back to defend his title; Busch is back to win another race. At stake is a three-year winning streak in this event for the organization: Busch won it in 2007 (while with Hendrick Motorsports), Hamlin in 2008, and Logano in 2009. With Hamlin not entered for Saturday, will either Busch or Logano make it four?

Saturday will be for fun; Sunday will be about a championship. While Logano didn’t qualified for the Chase, Hamlin and Busch are in the thick of the fight for the championship. Dover was the one race that Hamlin believed if he could make it through, would make things easier for his No. 11 team.

Kansas is not a track that Hamlin’s won at in the NSCS, but a top 10 or top five will be just as effective in the big picture.

“We finished fifth there last year,” Hamlin said after Dover. “I felt like we almost had a race-winning car there last year. I think our program is better this time around then where were last year. So if we finished fifth last year, we should improve on it this time around.”

Hamlin then declared, “When I go there, I’m going to go with an open mind. It is another one-off racetrack where we don’t go there but once a year. Really it’s almost like everyone is going to have to start over. That’s one thing I do like about our team.”

“Whenever we go to a track where you have to throw everything out the window, put a setup, a place you go only one time a year, things happen within our garages so fast, the evolution of these cars happen so fast, it’s almost whoever can get their car right the quickest at a track like Kansas is going to be good.”

Before he left the Dover on Sunday night Hamlin said, “I have a lot of faith in our team, that we’re able to go there. Even if we don’t start out strong, we should end strong.”

Those who follow NASCAR know that everyone at JGR is strong and determined. Momentum is everyone’s side and what has already been a successful season can only get better and the road to it might lead through the Kansas Speedway.

  • Roush Fenway Signs Trevor Bayne

Driver set to make Roush Fenway Debut this Weekend in Kansas

CONCORD, N.C. (Sept. 30, 2010) – Roush Fenway Racing announced it has signed up-and-coming NASCAR driver Trevor Bayne. The 19-year old has started all 28 races in the Nationwide Series this season, running to 10 top-10 finishes and five top fives. After getting acclimated in the series, Bayne has totaled three poles, nine top 10s and five top fives in his last 14 Nationwide starts. He is currently ranked seventh in the Nationwide Series standings.

“We are pleased to be able to sign a driver of both Trevor’s caliber and character,” said team owner Jack Roush. “Trevor has exhibited a distinctive ability to run fast, up front and compete side-by-side with veteran drivers in a relatively short amount of time. We feel that he possesses all of the tools necessary to grow into a top-level driver and we look forward to working with him to hone his skills as we move forward down the road.”

Bayne will pilot the No. 17 Roush Fenway Nationwide Series entry this weekend in Kansas, and Roush Fenway intends to run him for the remaining six races on the schedule.

Overall Bayne has made 43 career Nationwide Series starts, having posted 12 top-10 finishes and five top fives. He won the pole last season in only his seventh NNS start and started inside the top 11 in 12 of 15 races.

“I am just really excited to have the opportunity to drive,” said Bayne. “We are looking forward to a great relationship with Roush Fenway, and I’m eager to go racing with Jack Roush and everyone at the organization. I can’t wait to get everything started this weekend in Kansas.”

Prior to the Nationwide Series Bayne, who hails from Knoxville, Tenn.,  made 15 starts in the NASCAR K&N East Series, tallying one win, six top fives, nine top 10s and two poles. He started racing at the age of five, competing on the go-cart circuit and winning over 300 feature races, 18 state and track championships and three world championships. He eventually won top rookie honors in both the Allison Legacy Race Series and the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series Southern Division before moving on to the K&N Series.

With the addition of Bayne, Roush Fenway will have three drivers competing in the Nationwide Series that are currently inside the top 10 in the series’ standings.

Roush Fenway Racing is NASCAR’s largest team operating eight motorsports teams.  Four in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with drivers Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards and David Ragan; and five in the Nationwide Series with Edwards, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Colin Braun, Brian Ickler, Paul Menard, Erik Darnell and Trevor Bayne.  For more information on any of the Roush Fenway Racing teams, log onto www.RoushFenway.com.  Become a fan of Roush Fenway Racing on Facebook by going to http://www.facebook.com/roushfenway and follow us on Twitter @roushfenway.  For sponsorship inquiries please contact Robin Johnson at 704.720.4645.

  • Danica Patrick Returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway for Dollar General 300

CONCORD, N.C. (Sept. 29, 2010) – Indy Racing League driver Danica Patrick has been in the NASCAR spotlight this season as she competes in select Nationwide Series events for team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr., including the Dollar General 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 15 during Bank of America 500 Week.

Race fans around the world have seen Patrick’s name in news headlines and noticed her face on magazine covers, but many fans don’t really know who Patrick is and how she got into racing.

Born in Beloit, Wis., Patrick grew up in Roscoe, Ill., where she tried many things before finding her calling as a race car driver.

“Racing wasn’t the first thing I tried,” Patrick said. “I played volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, band, singing, you name it, I tried it. So my parents were really open-minded about letting me try things and that was a really great thing. It helped me be able to find something that I love to do.”

Patrick began racing go-karts at age 10 and she won several World Karting Association regional and national championships over a seven-year period. While the Dollar General 300 will be Patrick’s first appearance on the 1.5-mile oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway, she enjoyed racing karts here during the very early stages of her career.

“I remember going down the back straightaway where Turns 3 and 4 are on the main track and pretending I was racing cars out there on the track,”

Patrick said. “I took a ride there in a two-seat race car with the Petty Driving Experience where you pay money and get to ride in the passenger’s seat. I also remember walking the track one time and thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, the banking is so steep you can barely walk on it.’ So I have a lot of memories from Charlotte. That includes everything from visiting a slot car track where we would hang out as kids to the (North Carolina) red clay.”

Patrick joined Andretti-Green Racing in 2007 and on April 20, 2008, she became the first female to win a major closed-course automobile race when she topped the Japan Indy 300 at Twin Ring Motegi, a 1.549-mile oval in Motegi, Japan. Her best finish in the IRL point standings came in 2009 when she ended up fifth.

Success in NASCAR is Patrick’s next goal. With time and experience, she hopes better results will come just as they did in the open-wheel cars.

“Danica is doing an awesome job for our team,” said JR Motorsports co-owner Kelley Earnhardt. “There’s quite a bit more she must learn and experience in stock cars. The more she races in NASCAR, the better she will become.”

“All I know I’m exploring something I’ve wanted to explore and experience and getting to know the people in NASCAR and the cars used in NASCAR,” Patrick explained. “It’s one step at a time for me and hopefully it can be something that I can compete with the top drivers one day and we’ll just have to see where it goes. It’s definitely a learning process at this time, but I’m having fun doing it.”

Tickets for all October races at Charlotte Motor Speedway can be purchased online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or by calling the speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267). • Truex Brothers To Race Diamond-Waltrip’s No. 99 Toyota For Remainder of 2010

Ryan In No. 99 & Martin Jr. In No. 00 At Kansas, First Race Together

CORNELIUS, N.C. – Diamond-Waltrip Racing announced today that two-time K&N Pro Series East champion Ryan Truex and two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Martin Truex Jr. will share the No. 99 Toyota for the remainder of the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series season.

The brothers will replace Trevor Bayne.

DWR will field two cars this weekend at Kansas Speedway, marking the first time the Truex brothers will race against each other. Ryan Truex, who capped his second K&N East Series championship season last weekend in Dover, will drive the No. 99 OUT! Pet Care Toyota at Kansas while older brother will pilot the No. 00 OUT! Pet Care entry. Ryan Truex will then race at Charlotte, St. Louis, Phoenix and Homestead-Miami, while Martin Jr. will race at California and Texas.

“I am very proud of the Diamond-Waltrip race team and the progress our team has made this year,” said majority owner Gary Bechtel. “On the track, this has been a sensational season and I feel as if we can win a race before the end of the season. The root of the issue regarding Trevor and his future with DWR is simply economics. DWR held an option on Trevor’s contract, but without appropriate funding, we could not match the provisions of that contract extension by guaranteeing him a full-time ride in the No. 99 car next year. We could not commit to the demands of the agreement.

“We all wanted to work towards a positive solution, but time was not on our side. We had to make a business decision and Trevor had to make a business decision. We owe it to our race team, sponsors and everyone personally invested in this organization to move forward with those who will be with us in 2011 and beyond.”

Bechtel said his Nationwide Series team is strong and finalizing a program he expects to announce soon.

“We have a very good plan in place, but we just haven’t reached a point where we can publicly discuss it at this time.”

Bechtel and his son Blake along with Michael Waltrip Racing own Diamond-Waltrip Racing that fields Toyota Camrys out of the MWR shop in Cornelius, N.C. The Bechtels have owned cars in the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series since 1990. The Morgan Hill, California residents’ teams have visited victory lane 10 times in the Nationwide Series.

Ryan Truex said he didn’t think twice when offered a chance to drive for the Jerry Baxter-led DWR team that owns three poles and five top-five finishes in 2010.

“These are tough circumstances, but I love driving in the Nationwide Series and I’m pumped up about racing this weekend,” said the Mayetta, N.J. native. “My main goal this weekend is to keep this team’s momentum up and continue to deliver a great racing program to OUT! Pet Care. They came on board this year and have been a big boost for the entire organization and I want to get them a win.”

Martin Jr. will drive the No. 00 sporting a reversed-colored OUT! Pet Care paint scheme in Saturday’s race at Kansas. He expects Saturday will be a big day for the Truex family.

“This is pretty cool. I always hoped this day would come but I didn’t have any idea it would come this year,” said the 2004 and 2005 Nationwide champion. “We raced a lot on the computer and he’ll claim he beat me, but we’ll see what happens Saturday. I’m real proud of him. He’s had a good season winning the East championship for a second time and he’s done real good in his first few races in the Nationwide Series. He’s got a good deal driving for the Diamond-Waltrip guys. I’ve told him to just stay patient, learn as much as he can and everything will fine.”

    • Braun Racing acquired by Turner Motorsports… Last week, it was announced that Turner Motorsports acquired select assets of Braun Racing. The team will continue to operate as Braun Racing for the remainder of the 2010 season. Plans for Turner Motorsports in 2011 include fielding three entries in both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) and the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS). The NNS driver lineup will be announced in October.

Terri Miller, Vice President of Marketing for Great Clips, Inc., had this to say about the acquisition by Turner Motorsports

“Over the years we have grown the Great Clips brand in partnership with a tremendous race team, Braun Racing. We are very excited as we once again see Braun Racing take our brand to the next level with Turner Motorsports.”

    • James Buescher to make his debut in the No. 11… NCWTS driver, James Buescher, will pilot the No. 11 Great Clips Camry this weekend at Kansas Speedway and next weekend at Auto Club Speedway. The 20-year-old Plano-Texas-native made six starts for Braun Racing in 2008, accumulating one top-10 finish and one pole award. He is currently 13th in the NCWTS championship points standings with six top-five and eight top-10 finishes after competing in 17 of 20 events this season.

    • By the numbers: Kansas Speedway… Buescher has never made a NNS start at Kansas Speedway, but he has two NCWTS starts at the 1.5-mile tri-oval. He has two top-20 finishes and one top-15 (12th, 16th). His average start is 9.5 and average finish is 14.0. He has completed 99.7% of his laps at the Kansas City, KS-based track.

    • Truck Series momentum….Buescher is coming into Kansas after two of his best finishes to date in the NCWTS. Last weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, he finished third after qualifying second and leading for 17 laps. Two weeks ago at New Hampshire International Speedway, he finished in the runner-up position after leading eight laps and battling hard in the closing laps with veteran driver, Kyle Busch. Buescher hopes this momentum will help him bring home a solid finish in the No. 11 Great Clips Camry this weekend at Kansas Speedway.

Buescher on working with Braun Racing again

“First off, I can’t tell you how excited I am about the recent acquisition of Braun Racing by Turner Motorsports. I’m very happy to be working with the Braun Racing guys again. I had some great races in 2008 with them and I even got my first Nationwide Series pole with them at Memphis Motorsports Park. I know how hard all the guys work and that the equipment is super competitive. I am excited to get back in one of their cars and to represent Great Clips this weekend at Kansas.”

  • Colin Braun — NNS Kansas Advance

    Colin Braun – NNS ADVANCE

Team: No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford Fusion

Race: Kansas Lottery 300 – Kansas Speedway

    Crew Chief: Rick Viers

    Chassis: RK- 356

    FAST FACTS:

BRAUN RETURNS TO THE NO. 16 – Colin Braun will be getting back in the No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford this weekend in Kansas after giving way to Roush Fenway Racing teammates Matt Kenseth and Erik Darnell for three past races. Braun’s last start in the No. 16 was at Montreal where he started 14th and finished 22nd after a late-race accident.

BRAUN AT KANSAS SPEEDWAY – While he is making his first career Nationwide Series start at the 1.5-mile track, Braun has found success at Kansas in the Camping World Truck Series. In two Truck Series starts, Braun has an average starting position of 6.0 and an average finish of 4.5, with one top-five and two top-10s.

ROUSH FENWAY RACING AT KANSAS – In 26 Nationwide Series starts at Kansas Speedway, Roush Fenway Racing has one win, 11 top-fives, 16 top-10s, two pole awards and 311 laps led. The lone victory was tallied by Jeff Burton back in 2002. Every race since 2001 that RFR has made a start, at least one car has finished in the top-10. Every year but one

(2005), the team has placed a car in the top-five.

KANSAS CHASSIS SELECTION – Crew chief Rick Viers has selected RK-356 for this weekend’s Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway. This car was last raced by Brian Ickler in his first start at Bristol Motor

    Speedway where he finished 19th.

Braun, on returning to the No. 16 team at Kansas:

“I’m obviously excited to be getting back in the Con-way Freight Ford this weekend at Kansas. It is a place where I have been fortunate enough to do well in the Truck Series and I’m hopeful to continue that trend in my first Nationwide Series start. The Con-way Freight team has done a great job of achieving our goal of reaching the top-15 in the owner’s point standings and I want to be able to keep moving in that direction toward the 12th spot which is our next goal. We are 150 points out, but we can start chipping away at it this weekend with a solid finish.”

Crew chief Rick Viers, on the trip to Kansas:

“Kansas has been a good track for Colin [Braun] in the Truck Series and in last year’s race the No. 16 car finished fifth. We have continued to work hard on our cars and stay focused as a team. I feel we can be very competitive this week in Kansas. After some consistent finishes, we have finally been able to reach the top-15 in owner points.

We now have our sights set on 12th, which is only 150 points away.”

  • Robert Richardson, Jr. looking for Yellow Brick Road to Kansas success

CHINA GROVE, N.C. (September 28, 2010) – Robert Richardson, Jr. and the No. 23 Chevrolet of R3 Motorsports are looking to travel the mythical Yellow Brick Road to success at Kansas Speedway in this Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

The 1.5-mile oval has been a fairly good track for the McKinney, Texas native in his past two starts with a 23rd and 22nd place finish, respectively. Like any team, R3 Motorsports is looking to find the key set-up and tire combination to improve on last year’s efforts and gain in the Owner’s Points.

Fast Facts: Richardson will be making his 19th start of the 2010 season and 65th of his NNS career. To date, his best-career finish occurred at O’Reilly Raceway Park in July of this year when he crossed under the checkered flag in 15th place. So far in 2010, the quarterback-turned-driver has completed an impressive 95.5 percent (3,223 of 3,376) laps contested.

Car Facts: Crew chief Steve Plattenberger and team will roll chassis No. 30 off the R3 Motorsports hauler for this weekend’s race. This Chevrolet was last used at Chicagoland Speedway in July, Charlotte Motor Speedway in May and Texas Motor Speedway in April. The team finished 23rd at both CMS and TMS with this car.

Thanks Quality Suites: R3 Motorsports will be staying at the Quality Suites Airport in Kansas City this weekend and carry their logo on the No. 23 Chevrolet.

Pigskin Prowess – NFL and college football stories are all over the place this time of year. Richardson’s achievements on the gridiron at McKinney (Tex.) High School and Southern Methodist University are well documented and noted. However, the team’s driver isn’t the only one at R3 Motorsports who’s had prominence with the pigskin.

Steve Plattenberger was a starting center for Elon (N.C.) University after a successful career at Sunvalley (N.C.) High School. Car chief Mark Nelson played linebacker for the Aiken (Minn.) High School Gobblers. John Kidwell, shop mechanic, was a wide receiver at Citrus County (Fla.) High School. Tim Packman, Public Relations, played WR and DB for the Clarence (NY) Red Devils where they won in the Sectional Playoffs at Ralph Wilson Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills.

Richardson wasn’t the only starting quarterback in the shop. Brian Anderson made the calls and tossed the passes at Ft. Bragg (Calif.) High School where they made the playoffs his senior year. Bret Jones, engine tuner, still holds some records at Union (Mo.) High School for most punts blocked in one season (17) and longest pass reception from scrimmage of 65 yards. It should be noted Jones stands all of 5’4”.

Did you know: Two drivers, Joe Nemechek and Denny Hamlin, won this race starting from 19th place; which is still the farthest back anyone has taken the green then checkers. No driver has won from the pole, but Jeff Burton won from the outside pole in 2002.

    Robert Richardson, Jr. quotes

You’ve had some pretty good success at Kansas Speedway the last two times: “Yeah, we managed a 23rd and 22nd the past two years. Trust me, it’s not where we want to be when the checkered flag waves, but at least I know we have good notes to build off of for this year to get that better finish. Our equipment is good and the guys on the R3 Motorsports team put a lot of effort into getting our Chevrolets ready for the race.

Outlook for this weekend: “Since this is the car we ran at Chicagoland, I know it’s going to be real good in the turns. That means a lot to a driver at a fast track like Kansas. The banking isn’t as steep at Kansas (15 degrees) as it as Texas or Charlotte (24 degrees), which means you have to finesse it up off the corners just a little better and can’t rely on momentum. We just need to gain as many positions as possible during the race and finish in the top-15 or top-20. Those are my goals for the weekend.”

  • JAMES BUESCHER TO PILOT THE NO. 11 TOYOTA CAMRY IN UPCOMING NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES RACE

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 27, 2010) – Braun Racing, which was recently acquired by Turner Motorsports, is pleased to announce that NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) driver, James Buescher, will pilot the No. 11 Toyota Camry in this weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at Kansas Speedway. Buescher will join teammate, Jason Leffler, in sporting the colors of Great Clips, the longest-running primary sponsor in the series.

Buescher is no stranger to working with Braun Racing. The Plano, Texas-native made six starts for the team in 2008, accumulating one top-10 finish and one pole award in only his third start. The 20-year-old currently sits 13th in the NCWTS driver point standings with six top-five and eight top-10 finishes after competing in 17 of 20 events this season.

Buescher will be paired with veteran crew chief, Stewart Cooper, who has worked with such talent as Kasey Kahne, David Reutimann and Tayler Malsam in 2010. He will also pilot the No. 11 entry for Braun Racing at Auto Club Speedway.

Buescher, who drives the No. 31 Chevrolet Silverado in the NCWTS for Turner Motorsports, is extremely excited about heading to Kansas with Great Clips and Braun Racing.

“First off, I can’t tell you how excited I am about the recent acquisition of Braun Racing by Turner Motorsports. I’m very happy to be working with these guys again. I had some great races in 2008 with Braun Racing and I even got my first Nationwide Series pole with them at Memphis Motorsports Park. I know how hard all the guys work and that the equipment is super competitive. I am excited to get back in one of the Nationwide cars and to represent Great Clips this weekend at Kansas.”

Buescher’s racing career began in 2004 in the Bandolero Young Gun Series at Texas Motor Speedway. After winning the championship that year, he moved on to the Legends Series in 2005, claiming 24 victories in 56 starts and finishing the year second in the National Championship point standings. In 2006, Buescher competed in the ASA Late Model Series for Turner Motorsports, winning the championship and capturing Rookie of the Year and Most Popular Driver honors. In 2007 and 2008, the young driver competed in both the K&R Pro Cup Series and the ARCA Racing Series, claiming his first ARCA Racing Series win in his first start at Lakeland Speedway.

In addition to his six NNS starts in 2008, Buescher made his NCWTS debut that year in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In 2009, the 19-year-old advanced to compete full-time in the NCWTS, bringing home one top-five and three top-10 finishes. That year he made two NNS starts finishing 11th and 13th at Texas Motor Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway respectively. He also made four ARCA Racing Series starts, claiming two wins and three top-five finishes. Buescher has made 10 NNS starts in this year, in addition to his 17 NCWTS starts, 16 of which came in the Turner Motorsports No. 31 Wolf Pack Rentals entry.
