  • RECORD SETTING DAY FOR TEAM MOPAR

RECORD SETTING DAY FOR TEAM MOPAR

July 15, 2012. Vernon, BC – Ron Beauchamp Jr. and the #60 Mopar Parts/Exide Batteries/Mobil 1 Dodge team shined at the Motoplex Speedway yesterday, setting a new track qualifying record and clocking in with another solid top 10 finish.

#60’s Mopar Parts Dodge kicked off the weekend with an ideal practice session. Beauchamp was the wheelman with the fastest vehicle, qualifying him for pole position. His top finish was a record at the Motoplex Speedway – #60 ran the half mile in 18.446 seconds, or 97.582 MPH.

Beauchamp headed into the race after setting a great tone in practice and lead a lap early to claim a bonus point, settling comfortably in the top five.

“We expected the car to loosen up and it did so I wasn’t too concerned that we dropped a few positions,” Beauchamp explained.

Despite losing a few positions after a strong start, #60 still consistently ran in the top 10 during the remaining laps.

The crew made their scheduled pit stops for service and continued to run with the leaders, once again creeping up into the top five. Beauchamp finally got his wish and felt the Mopar Parts Dodge loosen up after his crew’s hard work during pit stops. Although after the race, Beauchamp offered some retrospective analysis: “Even though we made good adjustments, maybe we should’ve gone a little bit further,” he said.

In the late stages of the contest, Beauchamp was clinging to a spot in the top five and battled to maintain a top position as the handling on his vehicle started to deteriorate. Despite #60’s fierce persistence, he couldn’t hang on to the top five and eventually finished 8th.

I’m proud of scoring the pole with a new track record, great job by the team to give me a good car,” Beauchamp said. “We would have liked hanging on to the top five finish, but it’s another top 10 and we’re gaining momentum.”

Ron Beauchamp Jr. and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team will be back in action next weekend as part of the Edmonton Indy weekend.  Practice & qualifying will be held Friday & Saturday with the race next Sunday July 22nd.   For more information about the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries team log on to www.beauchampmotorsports.com and www.mopar.ca

  • ANOTHER CAREER BEST FINISH FOR MARTIN ROY

ANOTHER CAREER BEST FINISH FOR MARTIN ROY

July 15, 2012.  Martin Roy began the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series swing through western Canada with a sensational result in round number five on the season.  In a brand new racecar the Napierville, Quebec native collected his first ever series top ten finish in the #90 Veloce/Gamache Truck Centre Dodge and extended his lead in the rookie point’s battle.

During the afternoon practice Roy got the feel his new #90 Veloce/Gamache Truck Centre Dodge.  “There were a few little things we needed to address during the practice but the new car felt very good” said Roy.

During qualifying Roy was still adjusting to the feel of the new car and managed a 13th place starting spot on the grid for the 300 lap feature event.

As the green flag dropped for the main event Roy immediately began moving forward in the #90 Veloce/Gamache Truck Centre Dodge and quickly found himself inside the top ten.  “After we corrected those issues during the practice and qualifying, the car was very good” said Roy.

As the race progressed Roy continued his strongest run of the season  to date moving up into the top five to run with the series elite.  The #90 Veloce/Gamache Truck Centre Dodge team performed beautifully during scheduled pit stops to keep the team up front with the leaders.

As the race wound down Roy remained consistent in his lap times but would slip just outside the top five at the end, resulting in a sixth place finish, his best to date in the series.  “This new car that my Crew Chief Mario Gosselin built is very good and I’m extremely pleased with our result tonight.  And I know we are going to be even better as the season goes on” said Roy.

While she did not participate in round five in the #07 Frank Lyman Design Dodge, teammate Isabelle Tremblay continues to prepare for her next race.  Tremblay will be back in action soon and is still welcoming new partners to expand her race schedule to even more events this season.

Race fans will be able to watch the race from MotoPlex Speedway on July 22nd at 5PM on TSN and August 11th at 7:30PM on RDS2. (All times Eastern).  The next event on the race schedule is Sunday July 22nd at the Edmonton Indy weekend.

  • OUSTANDING NIGHT FOR JASON WHITE

    OUSTANDING NIGHT FOR JASON WHITE

July 15, 2012. Vernon, BC – Jason White and his #21 A&W Dodge ran his best-ever series finish in front of his hometown crowd yesterday at the Motoplex Speedway, headlined by his vehicle’s sponsor, at the A&W Cruisin’ the Dub 300.

The vehicle was a little tight during practice, and the crew made adjustments to loosen it up for qualifying. Despite the team’s effort to ease the tension on the car’s handling, White clocked an average qualifying time and started the race in 11th place with the middle of the pack.

Despite a less-than-favorable starting position, 11th place put White in good positioning to edge easily into the top ten and he successfully stayed inside for most of the race. Jason’s brother Jim, also behind the wheel at the Motoplex, ran close by his brother early on, and later finished 7th.

#21 had some collision problems, first making contact with the back end of #69 and later with #44. His initial bump with #69 caused some buckling in the hood of his A&W Dodge, but his crew worked quickly to clear it. “Despite the contact I had with a couple cars, my vehicle continued to handle really well,” White said after the race.

The A&W Dodge continued to run strong all night, and in the final green flag run to the finish, White mounted one more charge and earned an incredibly strong finish after a shaky 11th place start.

White flew past the finish line in 5th place – his best-ever series finish in front of his hometown fans.

“The car was great, the cautions fell at the right times and it worked out great,” Jason said. “The crew was phenomenal at pit stops, we beat five cars out on our left side tire stop. It was great to do it in front of the A&W crew and so many friends.”

Jason White and the #21 Dodge team will compete in the entire 2012 NCATS schedule that will take the team from coast to coast in Canada for the 12 events.  Next on the schedule is Edmonton Indy weekend event with the race taking place Sunday July 22nd. • JIM WHITE SHINES IN FRONT OF HOMETOWN FANS

JIM WHITE SHINES IN FRONT OF HOMETOWN FANS

July 15, 2012. Hometown favourite Jim White didn’t disappoint the supportive crowd Saturday night in round number five of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at MotoPlex Speedway near Vernon, BC.  White put on a show for the fans with a solid qualifying effort and his second top ten finish at the track in as many years.

The day got off to a bit of bumpy start as White took to the half-mile track for practice.  He immediately noticed the #24 Sun Ridge Equipment Dodge wasn’t at full power.  Returning to the attention of the crew they discovered two spark plug wires were off and as soon as the problem corrected White immediately posted a quick time.  “Once we started running on all eight cylinders the car really came to life” joked White.

Consistently among the quickest cars during practice White went on to post the seventh fastest qualifying time and would start the A & W Cruisin’ the Dub 300 feature event from the inside of row four.  “The car was really good right from the start” said White.  “I had to shake off a little rust in practice but other than that things went very well” he added.

As the green flag waved on the main event White ran comfortably in the top ten through the early stages, several times either directly in front of or right behind his brother Jason White, a full time series competitor.  “Racing with Jason is always so much fun” said Jim White.  “It’s special to do that in front of the fans at our home track” he stated.

Through the middle portion of the race White maintained contact with the front of the field running as high as second in the #24 Sun Ridge Equipment Dodge.  “A lot of the credit goes to Scott Steckly bringing a very good car for me to race” said White.  “the crew was really good on our scheduled pit stops as well”.

In the late stages White hunted for every position possible, hoping achieve an even better result than his tenth place finish the year before. “It got pretty aggressive in the final 30 laps or so” explained White.  “I got into the back of the #84 car and he returned the favour, it was some tough racing near the end of the race”.

When the checkered flag waved, White brought the #24 Sun Ridge Equipment Dodge across the finish line with a seventh place result.  “This was so much fun tonight” smiled White afterwards.  “The #24 Sun Ridge Equipment Dodge ran really well, I have to thank JT White Trucking, Harrison Industrial & Norgaard Redi Mix as well for all their help.  Being able to run up front all night and put on a great show for the fans was really great and I can’t wait to race next in Saskatoon” he stated.

Jim White returns to action in the #24 Dodge in round number seven of the NSACAR Canadian Tire Series on Wednesday July 25th at Auto Clearing Speedway in Saskatoon, SK.  Fans can watch the A & W Cruisin’ the Dub 300 on TSN Sunday July 22ndat 5PM Eastern.

  • DOWLER FINISHES TENTH IN EMCO DODGE

DOWLER FINISHES TENTH IN EMCO DODGE

July 15, 2012.  Sherwood Park, Alberta’s Noel Dowler registered his third consecutive top ten finish in the #5 EMCO Dodge Saturday night during round number five of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at MotoPlex Speedway near Vernon, BC.  Once again the 19 year old showed he is now ready to take the next step in his racing career.

During the afternoon practice session the #5 EMCO Dodge driver worked on race set up for the grueling 300 lap event.  The crew had done their homework and Dowler felt he had a strong car for the race.  “I got more comfortable with each lap” said Dowler.  “I never had to push the car to put up good lap times” he added.

Dowler would line up 16th for the start of the race after a disappointing qualifying run.  “That’s an area I still have to work on” said Dowler.  “It’s a real skill getting the most out of a car to get that one fast lap” he stated.

When the race began Dowler quickly moved the #5 EMCO Dodge forward in the field and it wasn’t long before he was inside the top ten.  He continued his progress and showed his improving racing skill running with the best racers in the series.  “Once we caught the leaders I didn’t have any trouble staying with them” explained Dowler.  “We just started a little behind and needed some time to catch up”.

Continuing to run strong Dowler marched forward and soon found himself in fifth position.  “The car was running great and I was being patient looking for openings to get around them” he stated.

After his scheduled pit stops for fuel and tires Dowler looked to maintain his consistent pace through the second half of the event.  Regrettably contact with another competitor would turn his #5 EMCO Dodge around, in a cloud of smoke Dowler battled to straighten the car out and return to battle.  “We lost some positions but that spin really cooked the tires” said Dowler.

For the remainder of the race Dowler worked to maintain a solid finishing position.  Though he lost a few spots following a late race restart the young man did collect a tenth place finish.  “We had a better car than tenth place but when we got collected and spun that put us back” said Dowler.  “We feel this team is a minimum top ten team every weekend and now we’re looking to take that next step” he added.

The 2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is back in action next weekend in Edmonton as part of the Indy weekend.  The series features 12 events from coast to coast including races during the Edmonton Indy weekend and the NASCAR Nationwide event in Montreal.  For more information about Noel Dowler Jr. log onto www.apollomotorsports.ca and follow him on twitter, @noeldowler.

  • CHALLENGING NIGHT FOR JARRAD WHISSELL

    CHALLENGING NIGHT FOR JARRAD WHISSELL

July 14, 2012. Vernon, BC – Jarrad Whissell had his hands full at yesterday’s race at the Motoplex Speedway, battling transmission and handling issues behind the wheel of his #44 SMS/Komatsu Ford which ended his night earlier than expected.

The crew got right to work early in practice, moving quickly to fix a transmission seal in time for qualifying. After the repairs, the Whissell’s SMS/Komatsu Ford wasn’t handling well and #44 qualified 14th for the main event.

During the first two cautions, Whissell’s crew elected to make stops to try and loosen up the vehicle. “The car was really pushy right from the start,” Whissell explained after the race. Despite the adjustments, #44 was still at odds with the car.  “We kind of got bounced around like a pogo stick, it was so tough.”

Later in the race, Whissell was able to capitalize on a stroke of bad luck – he was bumped around by a couple of other competitors, but it turned out to be just what he needed. “Strangely enough, when we got hit by #21, it made our car really loose, which allowed me to gain more control,” he said afterwards.  “I could manhandle it as long as I wasn’t in traffic, but when the leaders came up I really had to slow down.”

The night continued in a frustrating fashion and #44 soldiered on the best he could, until a problem in the rear end of his SMS/Komatsu Ford ended the team’s night early.

Whissell completed 257 of the 300 laps.

“At least we finished way more laps than we did at this race last year,” he said. “But we think this is all behind us and we’re excited to race in Edmonton next weekend.”

This season Jarrad Whissell will participate in the five NASCAR Canadian Tire Series road course events plus the two western Canada stops at Motoplex Speedway near Vernon, BC & Auto Clearing Speedway in Saskatoon, SK.  Follow the progress of the team and help support the Children’s Miracle Network through the team website www.jarradwhissell.com  You can also follow Jarrad on twitter, @JarradWhissell and also check out the team fan page on Facebook. Fans can watch all of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series races again this year on TSN.

  • Iowa Speedway Bites Venturini Motorsports

    Iowa Speedway Bites Venturini Motorsports

Concord, NC (July 15, 2012) — Friday night’s running of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway started off on a high note for Venturini Motorsports with series point’s leader, Brennan Poole, earning his third career ARCA Menards Pole by Ansell Award while teammates Ryan Reed and Erik Jones turned in solid qualifying efforts locking down the third and sixth spots on the starting grid.

With three team cars starting in the top-6 positions the mood inside the Venturini garage was filled with optimism.

But by the conclusion of the 200-lap Iowa event the team’s spirits drastically changed fittingly comparing to the chilling feelings evoked while watching Steven King’s 1984 horror-flick, “Children of the Corn”. However, with many silver screen classics to draw comparisons from afterwards, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” probably seem the most appropriate to best describe the overall results for Venturini Motorsports.

After leading the first 74-laps of the race, Brennan Poole, driving his No.25 The AD Man / Mudd Advertising Chevrolet suffered a devastating blow when his right front tire blew out driving him into the outside wall, crippling his car and taking him out of contention. Poole’s tire woes at Iowa are strangely similar to the situation last month at Michigan International Speedway when he jumped out early leading the first 59-laps of that event before his right side tires failed him forcing him into the pits for an unscheduled stop. Although he gave up the lead and any chances of claiming his fourth series victory, Poole was able to salvage an 11th place finish and the series points lead.

His misfortunes at Iowa would not be as forgiving. The damage sustained to the suspension and right side of Poole’s car Friday night came at a much higher price for the 21-year old rookie driver. Even with the support of a spirited pit crew determined to return him to the track the incident proved too much for him to overcome, finishing a season-low 28th place. Poole’s stroke of bad luck impacted more than just his Iowa race results, his season-low 28th place finish drops him to second position in the ARCA series championship point standings – 45 points behind fellow Texan, Chris Buescher. With nine events remaining in the ARCA season Poole’s misfortunes have done little to discourage his pre-season championship goal.

More unfortunate drama unfolded late in the race on lap 189 of 200 when 16-year old Venturini driver Erik Jones was robbed of what appeared to be his third top-5 finish (6th ARCA start) of his young career when the No.23 car driven by Spencer Gallagher drove down and made contact with his No.55 Paragon Corvette Reproductions Chevrolet on the back-stretch while the two drivers raced hard with the edge going to Jones.

The unnecessary contact not only turned Jones around knocking him out of his secured position but the incident also marred what was sure to be another impressive outing by the highly touted Jones.

Jones, who was suffering from flu-like symptoms the entire afternoon battled illness qualified 6th for the Prairie Meadows 200 and kept his car among the leaders all night long – securely within the top-5 spots.

Even with the on-track incident Jones continued to impress onlookers with his talent – credited with an 11th place finish.

Jones a native of Byron, Michigan became the youngest competitor in ARCA Racing history earlier this year at Mobile International Speedway at the age of 15. Jones will be back behind the wheel of his Paragon Corvette Reproductions backed car on July 27th when the series returns to Lucas Oil Raceway outside of Indianapolis, Indiana.

One of the bright spots this weekend for Venturini Motorsports was the performance turned in by 18-year old driver Ryan Reed from Bakersfield, California who qualified 3rd and earned his second top-10 of the season with a ninth place finish driving his No.15 RaceHard.com / Ryan’s Mission car.

Reed’s 9th place finish Friday night matched Venturini Motorsport’s best individual driver effort at Iowa Speedway since 2006 when Billy Venturini drove the family owned No.25 with the same results.

Reed, who was absent from the ARCA road course event in New Jersey returned to his car with seemingly a re-energized sense of determination to showcase his ability in front of the enthusiastic Hawkeye crowd.

As he does every day on and off the track Reed took advantage of his celebrity status to continue to share his story and spread awareness to help cure, treat and prevent diabetes through his own cause, Ryan’s Mission, a non-profit organization to help build awareness, become a role model, and positively touch the lives of so many that already have been affected by the disease.

Reed was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2011 and is one of three professional motorsports drivers in the country competing with the disease.

As if three Venturini cars suffering damage wasn’t enough yet another dark shadow was casted under the lights Friday night when rookie Venezuelan driver, Nelson Canache, crashed hard into the wall on lap-133 while trying to avoid a car spinning in front of his blue and white Venezuela Tourism Chevrolet.

Canache, who is a two-time Venezuelan road course champion, is in the midst of his rookie season and making the transition to stock-car racing was credited with a 30th place finish. During Friday’s Speed TV broadcast of the Prairie Meadows 200 event at Iowa Speedway Canache was spot-lighted as the ARCA Team Messina rookie driver of the race.

Next up for Venturini Motorsports will be the return to Chicagoland Speedway and their 30th ARCA Anniversary celebration on home turf Saturday, July 21st.

  • Kimmel Returns to the Top-5 at Iowa Speedway

Kimmel Returns to the Top-5 at Iowa Speedway

Newton, IA. (July 15, 2012) – The first night race, and one-day show, of 2012 offered plenty of changing factors for teams at the Iowa Speedway, and Frank Kimmel returned to the top five with a 5th place finish at the night’s end.

Both practice sessions for ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards competitors occurred during the heat of the afternoon. Kimmel and the Ansell/Menards Toyota team battled a tight condition throughout practice, but were near the top of the speed chart all afternoon. The Thorsport Racing team made changes to the #44 Toyota for Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell, which also took place in bright sunshine. Kimmel earned the 10th starting position, which was his fourth top ten qualifying effort in the last five races.

From the drop of the green flag, Kimmel aggressively gained positions in the opening laps, moving up to 6th, and settled inside the top ten throughout the first green flag run. The Iowa Speedway lends itself to some of the most competitive side-by-side racing on the ARCA Racing series circuit, and Kimmel was right in the middle of the action. For many laps, Kimmel battled hard to protect his top ten position racing door-to-door with the competition for numerous laps.

The event’s first caution flew at lap 74, under which, Kimmel came down pit road for four tires as well as adjustments to fix an ill-handling racecar, lacking side bite and rear grip off the corners. The Ansell/Menards team picked up a position on pit road and sent Kimmel out in 7th position. Kimmel was running 9th at a lap 113 caution flag and came to pit road for more adjustments as the tight condition from practice had plagued the team yet again. After restarting 11th, the pit stop allowed crew chief, Jeriod Prince, to employ an off-sequence strategy to gain track position on the following yellow flag.

Prince kept Kimmel on-track during the caution on lap 127, as Kimmel inherited the lead after communicating the car had felt the best it had all day long. Numerous cautions littered the subsequent laps, while Kimmel showed his prowess on restarts, keeping the competitors at bay. On lap, 152, Kimmel battled the tight condition through the center of the corner and surrendered the lead to eventual race winner, Alex Bowman. Kimmel led a total of 23 laps and ran in the top five through the duration of the event, and held on to his 5th place position during the green-white-checkered finish.

By finishing fifth, Kimmel secured his fourth top five finish and eighth top ten finish. While Kimmel lost a position in the series standings, he closed the gap on point leader, Chris Buescher, to 105 points. The finish also extended Kimmel streak of top tens at Iowa Speedway to six consecutive races.

“The Ansell/Menards Toyota ran pretty decent all night”, Kimmel said. “We were on a tightrope with the balance. If we tried to tighten it up off, it’d get so tight to turn in the middle and we struggled with that all day. It’s frustrating, because we work on it every week. One of these day’s we’re going to figure it out. I’m really proud of the effort, and the call to get the track position that allowed us to get up towards the front and get another top five finish.”

  • Chicagoland is Home for Venturini Motorsports Team to Celebrate 30th Season

Chicagoland is Home for Venturini Motorsports Team to Celebrate 30th Season

Chicagoland is Home for Venturini Motorsports Team to Celebrate

    30th Season of Championship ARCA Stock Car Racing with Pre-Race Festivities;

All-Female Ultra Blue Crew Return for Celebration

Chicago, IL (July 16, 2012) — Venturini Motorsports, in its 30th Anniversary Season of ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards championship stock car racing, is heading home to celebrate. The family-owned team, which grew its roots in Chicago, Illinois, has entered five cars for the upcoming Ansell ActivArmr 150 at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday night, July 21. In addition, Chicagoland Speedway will be honoring the Venturini family’s racing achievements throughout the race weekend.

Commemorating the celebration, Venturini Motorsports will feature special throw-back paint schemes on its fleet of race cars. Special paint schemes will include Bill Venturini’s championship colors from 1987 and 1991, the ‘Electric Blue’ car driven by Billy Venturini, and more.

The Venturini family racing legacy actually began in 1950 with Bill’s father, the late Tony Venturini, who raced jalopies at Chicago’s Soldier Field. From there, young Bill caught the racing bug and never looked back, forming Venturini Motorsports in 1981 alongside his wife and co-founder Cathy Venturini.

The legacy grew with the birth of their children Billy and Wendy, both of whom work full-time in the racing industry today.

“It’s a big honor to be recognized for our racing achievements, especially in our hometown,” said Bill Venturini, a two-time ARCA national champion. “We’ve got so much going on with five cars entered, which makes it even more exciting. It’s going to be very nostalgic to bring back all the old paint schemes. Even the numbers, although they’ll all be different, will have a retro look to them with the old style we used back then.”

Cathy, the matriarch of Venturini Motorsports, is still very much involved coordinating travel plans and preparing meals for five teams at the same time, not to mention so many other race weekend connectors.

“But it’s going to be fun; I’m really looking forward to it. Venturini Motorsports is going to be very well prepared for this race and I couldn’t think of a better place for success than what we still consider our home track,” Bill added.

Bill, whose grandparents emigrated from Italy in the early 1900s via Ellis Island, eventually migrated to Chicago where he would grow roots in the “Windy City”. Bill also learned early on that if he was truly going to make it in auto racing, he was going to have to pick up stakes and move the family again.

“We moved to Charlotte in 1993. We had to if we wanted to survive in racing.” And survive they have, fielding full-time ARCA teams for a wide variety of racers, including their son Billy, who made 162 ARCA starts over 13 years before he decided to climb from the driver’s seat to a team leadership role. Since then, the team has grown into the largest driver development team in ARCA averaging five cars at each event in 2012. Bill’s daughter Wendy Venturini has also carved out a respectable career in motorsports as a television analyst for NASCAR and ARCA on SPEED.

While Wendy designed her own career in racing, the core Venturini Motorsports organization has become one of the go-to teams for driver development, winning with eight different drivers since 2006, including a victory with Billy at Salem Speedway in April of ’06.

NASCAR veteran Joey Logano drove to Victory Lane in a Venturini-prepared car at Rockingham in 2008, and again at Pocono in 2009, marking Logano’s career-first win on a superspeedway.

Steve Arpin, who won back-to-back in Venturini-prepared cars at Salem and Texas in 2010, also delivered-up the first win on dirt for the Venturini team with a victory at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds in September of 2010.

Brennan Poole, 2012 ARCA championship contender, is the most recent winner among the drivers who compete with Venturini Motorsports, earning back-to-back victories earlier this year at Pocono and Elko. Poole also won in a Venturini car in his ARCA Racing Series debut at Salem in 2011.

In all, Venturini Motorsports has earned 26 career ARCA Racing Series victories with nine different drivers. Bill earned his career first ARCA victory on June 18, 1983 at Flat Rock Speedway in Flat Rock, Mich. Ironically, the win occurred during ARCA’s 30th anniversary season, and the race was appropriately titled, “30th Anniversary 100”. Thirty years later, Venturini Motorsports would celebrate its 30th Anniversary Season while ARCA would celebrate its 60th.

Other festivities surrounding the celebration at Chicagoland Speedway include the reunion of the team’s acclaimed Ultra Blue Crew, the first all-female pit crew in professional motorsports, which was used exclusively during Bill Venturini’s first ARCA championship in 1987.

“We got a hold of at least 20 of the gals that helped us on the Ultra Blue Crew. We couldn’t find some of them but we did our best to reach out to as many as we could. We should have as many as a dozen coming to help us celebrate, which should be really cool. They won’t all be there at the same time and the same days, but we’ll be glad to have them no matter when they’re able to come.”

The Ultra Blue Crew will join Venturini Motorsports for a special Chicagoland Speedway trackside party on Thursday, July 19 featuring a special musical performance from Jaclyn North, the 2010 American Idol semi-finalist and winner of the Texaco Country Showdown. The party will take place inside the track on pit road and will include 5,000 season ticket holders and members of the media.

Chicagoland Speedway will also host a pre-race concert Saturday afternoon from 12 noon – 2 p.m. featuring Jaclyn North and Nashville Recording Artists, The CJ Solar Band, on the main stage in the Fan Zone on the track’s concourse. BIG WEEKEND FOR JASON WHITE

July 11, 2012. Sun Peaks, BC racer Jason White will be the Hometown favourite for this weekend’s event in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.  White and his #21 A & W Dodge will be taking the green flag Saturday night at MotoPlex Speedway near Vernon, BC with the support of the majority of race fans and he’s looking for another solid result.

White is coming off his best ever series finish on an oval track in the last event and expects to keep that momentum going in the A & W Cuisin’ the Dub 300 this weekend.  “Our performance this season has been improving at every event” said White.  “The whole gang at DJK Racing has given me a great car every weekend and we’re competing hard each time out” he added.

This weekend’s race will be the 6th visit to the beautiful half mile track for the series and White expects the action to be heated, and to be in the middle of that action.  “This season I’m totally focused on racing” explained White.  “I’m not the car owner, just the driver and that’s allowed me to focus on the racing and I think that’s helping our performance” he stated.

Jason will be joined in the field by his brother Jim White who will pilot the #24 Dodge.  “It’s going to be so exciting to race against Jim” said White.  “He’s a heck of a racer and I’m looking forward to battling with him head to head”.

With A & W as the title sponsor of the event and driving the #21 A & W Dodge White is understandably busy with plenty of activity leading up to the race.  “Everyone within A & W really gets behind this race, we’ve got a lot of media commitments leading up to the race and it’s a lot of fun to talk racing with all the fans” said White.

Jason White and the #21 A & W Dodge team will begin with practice Saturday afternoon followed by qualifying at 5:15PM.  The on track autograph session with the drivers begins at 7PM and the green flag flies for the A & W Cruisin’ the Dub 300 at 8:15PM.
