  • Jason White Hangs On for Fourteenth at Magic Mile

Loudon, NH – September 18, 2010. Some days just don’t seem to go as planned. Saturday at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway was one of those days for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Jason White. Jason was looking forward to the series annual visit to the flat one-mile track, but when the dust settled, he and the SS Green Light Racing team are glad to be heading to Las Vegas next week.

The Virginia native survived several close calls on the track including a spin to finish fourteenth in the TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175 and posted his twelfth lead-lap finish of the 2010 campaign, the most of his NCWTS career.

White qualified the GunBroker.com No. 23 Chevy nineteenth in the morning multi-truck qualifying session with a lap of 30.48 seconds at just under 125 mph.

Jason picked up several positions early in the race, moving into the top-fifteen by lap ten before dropping back several positions. Cup regulars Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick were running away from the field and put Jason a lap down on lap thirty-nine. The pair had lapped all but the top eleven trucks when a caution flew on lap 62 for debris on the track.

White would line up behind teammate David Starr on the restart. The pair was racing hard for the fifteenth position when Jason went low with two wheels on the apron to try to move around his teammate when his GunBroker.com No. 23 broke loose and spun. Luckily no other trucks made contact and Jason held his Chevy Silverado off the wall and continued on to the attention of the SS Green Light Racing crew.

Shortly after the restart there was more excitement for the SS Green Light team when Starr was spun-out by another truck right in front of Jason’s Chevy who narrowly avoided contact and earned the “Lucky Dog” award to return to the lead lap.

Jason would stay in the top-fifteen for the second half of the race, but his GunBroker.com Chevy did not have the speed to make a move toward the front of the field and finished the 175-lap race in fourteenth place. It was White’s thirteenth top-fifteen finish of the season.

Kyle Busch led 156 of the 175 laps to win his fifth NCWTS race of the 2010 season.

White maintained tenth in NCWTS point standings behind leader Todd Bodine. Jason is 118 points behind SS Green Light Racing teammate David Starr who is in ninth.

The next race for Jason White and the SS Green Light team is the Smiths 350 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 25th.

  • Kevin Harvick Scores Third-Place Finish in Door-To-Door Race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

LOUDON, N.H.  (September 19, 2010) – It was a 175-lap drag race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, where Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) co-owner Kevin Harvick earned a third-place finish with new sponsor JEGS.com on board the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado. Harvick battled door-to-door for the lead with the No. 18 of Kyle Busch throughout the 185.15-mile race, but the JEGS.com machine was too tight at the end, and Harvick came just shy of a victory.

“We had a good day despite the fact that we didn’t get the win today,” said Harvick. “We put on a really good show with the No. 18, and we were evenly matched throughout the race. We were a little tighter than I wanted to be at the end and I just couldn’t get by him. I’m really glad we were able to give JEGS.com a great showing today, even though it wasn’t the result we wanted.”

After qualifying on the outside pole for TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175, Harvick took the green flag and immediately shot into the lead by the completion of lap one, but was passed by polesitter Busch by the time the yellow flag waved for the first time for a spin on lap three. Too early to consider pitting, Harvick remained on the track and restarted in second on lap six.

For the next 40 laps, Harvick and Busch would battle hard, running side-by-side and lap times within hundredths of a second of each other, but it wasn’t until lap 46 that Harvick overtook Busch for the top spot. Only one lap later, Busch reclaimed the lead, and the two would swap positions until the second caution flag waved for debris on lap 63.

Harvick relayed to crew chief Butch Hylton that the truck was turning a little too tightly in the center of the corners, and Hylton called the No. 2 to pit road for four tires, fuel and a track-bar adjustment. Restarting in second on lap 67, Harvick took the lead once again, but relinquished it by the time a spin on the backstretch brought out the yellow on lap 72. Hylton encouraged Harvick, observing that the No. 2 was faster than the No. 18 in many places on the racetrack, and the team opted to remain on the track when the caution flag waved two more times in quick succession on laps 81 and 86.

When green-flag racing resumed on lap 92, so did the door-to-door drag racing between Harvick and Busch. Harvick briefly took the lead once again, but relinquished it after only one lap. The trucks ran side-by-side until the yellow waved on lap 129, and Hylton called Harvick into the pits for what would be their final stop of the race. With Harvick stating that the truck was still tight in the center and exit of the turns, Hylton opted for four tires, an air-pressure adjustment and fuel. The No. 2 pit crew made a very fast pit stop, allowing Harvick to beat Busch off of pit road and restart the race from the lead on lap 132.

Immediately after the restart, Harvick, Busch and KHI teammate Ron Hornaday went three wide for the lead, but the JEGS.com Chevrolet was still too tight and slipped into the second position. The yellow flag was displayed on lap 160 for a spin, and Harvick took the lead for the final time following the restart on lap 164, but Busch quickly reclaimed the position and the No. 2 lost another spot to the No. 31 of James Buescher one lap later. The caution flag waved for the final time on lap 170, setting up the field for a green-white-checkered finish when racing resumed on lap 173. The three lead trucks were closely matched until the checkered flag flew, but Harvick remained in the third position when he crossed the finish line.

The No. 18 of Busch visited victory lane, with Buescher in second, Matt Crafton in fourth and Austin Dillon rounding out the top five. The No. 2 remains fourth in the Owner’s Point Standings, now 302 points out of first place.

The Truck Series hits the track again on Saturday, September 25th for the Smith’s Food & Drug Stores 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where Ken Schrader will be behind the wheel of the No. 2 truck. The race can be seen live on SPEED at 9:00 p.m. ET.

  • Busch wins NCWTS at New Hampshire

Busch wins NCWTS at New Hampshire

Kyle Busch captured his fifth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) on Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  Busch passed James Buescher on the final restart with two laps remaining.

Busch made heavy contact to the outside wall while passing Buescher for the lead.

“I tried rubbing off on him and he was still there a little bit and it turned me in the wall.  It was a hard hit, it knocked my helmet crooked.  I wasn’t sure what I had getting down into turn three but those guys got to racing back there and the truck felt fine through three and four.  I was surprised really that it felt the way it did and we were just able to mosey around for the next couple laps and bring it home.” Busch said.

Busch started from the pole and led eight times for 156 of the 175 laps run.

“It was man, it was a close race.  Myself and Harvick just battled it out all day long.  I can tell you what, it’s nice to have a comfortable seat in the SFI Butler seat was comfortable today and going to have the same thing for tomorrow, so that’s good.  I can’t thank these guys and this team enough.” Busch said.

Buescher finished second, Kevin Harvick third, Matt Crafton fourth and Austin Dillon finished fifth.

Buescher was unhappy with Busch and flipped him off after the race.

“He just drove us dirty and got the win.  Being that close is one thing, but getting it taken away from you like that is a totally different thing. If you’re faster, you’re going to pass him. You don’t have to race him so dirty and flat-out try to wreck you to try and get the lead and that’s what he did.” Buescher said.

Todd Bodine continues to lead the unofficial NCWTS standings over Aric Almirola by 257 points.

  • TOYOTA NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Post-Race Notes & Quotes New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Kyle Busch won his fifth race of the 2010 season in Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Busch started from the pole and led eight times for 156 (of 175) laps to earn his 21st series victory and 15th in a Toyota.   This win also marked the 12th NCWTS trip to victory lane for a Tundra in 19 races this year.

Tundra drivers have now won six straight races this season — the most for Toyota since entering the series in 2004.  In addition to Busch’s New Hampshire triumph, he also won at Bristol (Aug. 18) and Chicagoland (Aug. 27) and Todd Bodine was victorious at Nashville (Aug. 7), Darlington (Aug.14) and  Kentucky (Sept. 3).   Timothy Peters (sixth), Aric Almirola (eighth) and Bodine (ninth) also scored top-10 results for Toyota at the one-mile race track.   Tundra drivers Justin Lofton (11th), Donny Lia (12th), Mike Skinner (13th) and David Starr (15th) were also in the field.

Bodine continues to lead the unofficial NCWTS standings following New Hampshire, leading Almirola by 257 points.   Peters (fourth), Skinner (eighth) and Starr (ninth) are also in the top-10 in points after 19 of 25 races.

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Toyota Tundra, Kyle Busch Motorsports Finishing Position:  1st How exciting of a finish was this win for you? “It was man, it was a close race.  Myself and (Kevin) Harvick just battled it out all day long.  I can tell you what, it’s nice to have a comfortable seat in the SFI Butler seat was comfortable today and going to have the same thing for tomorrow, so that’s good.  I can’t thank these guys and this team enough.  All they want to do is come out and win races and that’s what we’re doing.  I’m so proud to have guys like Eric Phillips (crew chief) and Rick Ren (KBM competition director and general manager) and all the guys that work so hard on this team.  They do such a great job and they gave me a good piece today.  I tried messing it up, I couldn’t go for the first 20 laps or so and then after that we could run away.  It took that long just to get going.  I knew if we were going to have a race with late cautions, it was going to be a pain in the butt.  I can’t thank Toyota enough and Traxxas, Flexco, NOS Energy Drink, Marquis Jets, Electric Sunglasses and Gillette — I have a lot of people that have been on here this thing all year long and it’s worth it for them.  Hopefully we can get somebody to come on for next year, even if we have to peace it together, it would be nice to come back and return and have someone drive this piece again and be able to race it with me.  Thank Camping World and also the fans, it was cool today.” Did you think James Buescher or Kevin Harvick had anything for you at the end of the race? “I just had to get going.  It was like once I got going after 20 laps I could run away from those guys but my stuff wouldn’t come in, it was more of a long run truck.  We’ve been working on trying to get our stuff to go a little bit more in the beginning of these races and we haven’t quite found it yet.  We’ll continue to work.  It’s nice to get to victory lane.” How hard did you hit the wall on the final restart? “On the restart before that, I kind of got washed up into the marbles and stuff.  Unfortunately I got back there, behind the 31 (James Buescher).  On that last restart, I knew I needed to have a good run through (turns) one and two.  If I didn’t clear him off of (turn) two, he was going to run all the way down the back straightaway and side draft me and get back alongside of me and get me loose in (turn) three.  I knew I had to clear him regardless of what was going to happen, I had to clear him.  I tried rubbing off on him and he was still there a little bit and it turned me in the wall.  It was a hard hit, it knocked my helmet crooked.  I wasn’t sure what I had getting down into turn three but those guys got to racing back there and the truck felt fine through three and four.  I was surprised really that it felt the way it did and we were just able to mosey around for the next couple laps and bring it home.  I was glad that it was okay enough to drive.  I’m sure after 30 laps or so it would get tight because it knocked the fender in pretty bad.  Overall it wasn’t that bad, but you have to do what you have to do in order to win the races coming down towards the end and the last restart on a green-white-checker, you got to go.”

ERIC PHILLIPS, crew chief, No. 18  Toyota Tundra, Kyle Busch Motorsports What was your view of Saturday’s race from the pit box? “The pit crew did a good job.  The first stop was flawless, we beat Kevin (Harvick) out of the pits pretty easily.  The second stop, we knew we had to make our truck better and made the decision to make a track bar adjustment and it probably hurt us a little bit on our pit stop.  Kyle (Busch) behind the wheel got back in front on that restart and it was an important part of their day.”

TIMOTHY PETERS, No. 17 Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing Finishing Position:  6th Are you happy with a finish like this at New Hampshire? “Our Tundra was good all week long.  We knew the truck would be better than I would be.  I’ve struggled here the past two years.   That was a good test for us getting me better acclimated to the track.  I learned a lot about the track and the way it drives and it changes during the race.  We kept up with the changes on the truck.  Jeff Hensley (crew chief) and these guys did a great job on the calls.  I was a little upset about that last restart, but all in all, it was my best finish here so we’ll take it to Vegas and see what we can do.”

What happened on the last restart? “I had position on the 33 (Ron Hornaday Jr.), he drove me up the track.  I was trying my best to pass him clean and got loose going into (turn) three and took him out.  It was just good, tough racing.”

ARIC ALMIROLA, No. 51 Zyclara/Graceway Pharmaceuticals Toyota Tundra, Billy Ballew Motorsports

Finishing Position:  8th TODD BODINE, No. 30 Germain.com Toyota Tundra, Germain Racing

Finishing Position:  9th How was your race? “It was terrible, we just missed the setup.  We were way tight all day.  The track was nothing like it was in practice and we just missed it.  We fought it and fought it and didn’t gain on them.”

JUSTIN LOFTON, No. 7 VisitPit.com Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing

Finishing Position:  11th Were you able to learn anything from today’s race? “The VisitPit.com Toyota Tundra, we kind of missed it today, missed it all weekend actually.  It was a frustrating weekend but we still came out with a halfway decent finish – 11th wasn’t bad for us.  Really what our truck was all weekend, we’re pretty happy there.  We’ll go back and do our homework for Martinsville and Phoenix, the other couple flat tracks we have coming up and hopefully we can get a couple more top-fives, top-10s before the season ends.”

DONNY LIA, No. 90 Toyota Tundra, Stringer Motorsports Finishing Position:  12th

MIKE SKINNER, No. 5 EXIDE/International Toyota Tundra, Randy Moss Motorsports Finishing Position:  13th

DAVID STARR, No. 81 Toyota Tundra, Green Light Racing Finishing Position:  15th

  • Zachry Onboard with David Starr at Loudon

David Starr and the SS Green Light Racing team will return to the track after a much-deserved weekend off. The team has been working hard since Starr joined the team three weeks ago to prepare for the remainder of the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule.

The Texas native is excited as the TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175 at New Hampshire will mark the first race together for the SS Green Light team with Starr’s longstanding sponsor Zachry and the No. 81 Toyota will sport the colorful Zachry black and green paint scheme.

“It’s really cool to have Zachry on the No. 81 truck this week, we are all excited about building our relationship together,” Starr said. “Zachry is a great company with thousands of hard working people and I believe the values of Ken Smith and Bobby Dotter are right in line with the way that Zachry approaches their business. I think this is a great fit. I’m excited to have Zachry on the truck and I’m looking forward to seeing all the Zachry employees and customers at New Hampshire this weekend.”

David is also happy to be re-united with Crew Chief Jason Miller at SS Green Light Racing. “Jason and I had a great year together last year. We had a lot of very good runs. We had a little mechanical issue last week that didn’t give us the finish we wanted but we have this week to redeem ourselves and get a good finish. I’m looking forward to the future with Jason and the SS Green Light Racing team.”

Starr has nine career NCWTS starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with two top-five finishes and five top-ten finishes. His best finish at New Hampshire is third in 2002; he also finished fifth in 2006. He has completed 1804 out of a possible 1,809 competition laps. David’s average start is 12.9 and his average finish is 10.1.

“I love racing at New Hampshire; the long straights and flat corners make for a very challenging day. The trucks put on a heck of a show for the fans. I love it because it a real drivers track and if you can get the truck to rotate through the center of the corner, you can have a really good day. It’s just a great place to race.”

TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175 is the 239th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team and the 259th career start for Starr in the Truck series.

34 trucks are on the preliminary entry list for the TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175.

  • Jason White Looking Forward to Loudon

A strong top-five performance moved Jason White back into the top-ten in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings two weeks ago at Kentucky. The SS Green Light team hopes to build upon the confidence from that race heading into the TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175 Saturday afternoon at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The Virginia native will make his fourth start at the flat one-mile track in Loudon, New Hampshire this weekend White will be piloting the GunBroker.com No. 23 Chevrolet. Jason qualified twelfth last year and had a strong truck early running well up into the top-ten until mechanical issues sidelined the GunBroker.com truck just fifty-five laps into the race.

The NCWTS is coming off of its first idle week since July 11th, a grueling nine-week stretch that leaves even the most prepared teams physically tired and mentally drained. “I’m really excited to get back to the track. I think having a week off was great for the guys in the GunBroker.com shop to catch-up on some of the trucks, but I’m ready to race,” added Jason. “We’re going to bring a Chevy this weekend, it’s a truck we’ve run before, but we’ve converted it over for New Hampshire.”

2010 has been an up and down year for the veteran Truck Series driver. Since winning the pole and finishing fourth at the season opener in Daytona, White had accumulated four top-ten finishes before three straight engine failures at Nashville, Darlington and Bristol dropped him from the top-ten in the point standings. White made a solid rebound with eleventh and fourth place finishes at Chicago and Kentucky to bring him back into the top-ten and the SS Green Light team is ready to finish the season strong.

“The last two weeks we’ve made a nice comeback,” White explained. “We’ve got seven more races. So there is a lot of racing left and we are going to do everything we can to improve our position in the points and we’re gunning for that first win.”

TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175 marks 239th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team and the 98th career start for White in the Truck series.

34 trucks are on the preliminary entry list for the TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175.

Practice for the NCWTS TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175 will be Friday, September 17th at 10:00 a.m. with final practice 1:15 p.m. Qualifying will Friday, September 18th at 10:05 a.m. The race will be shown live on SPEED TV at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. Last year, Peters started from the 19th spot and earned a 19th place finish, marking his best finish in Loudon in only two prior events. Peters has only failed to finish inside the top-10 on four occasions this season and out of 18 races so far, the #17 team has earned 14 top-10 finishes. Timothy Peters is currently fourth but just 104 points separate him from the second spot. He also holds a 72 point margin on the fifth place driver. The last two years I’ve really struggled there but we’ve been back to some of the tracks this year that I have struggled at in the past and this year the results were much better. I’m really encouraged by that and it gives me confidence heading into this weekend that we are capable of having a really solid run despite my history at Loudon.”

Jeff Hensley on racing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway “Loudon has special meaning for me because that’s where I met my wife. I’m looking forward to this weekend and getting Timothy and good finish there. I’m excited about the changes we’ve made recently and seeing how they affect our performance on the race track.”

  • Kevin Harvick Truck Series Advance: New Hampshire Motor Speedway

WINNER, WINNER, WINNER: This weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Kevin Harvick will get behind the wheel of the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado for the fifth time in 2010. In his four Truck Series starts this season, the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) co-owner has visited victory lane three times (Atlanta Motor Speedway, Martinsville [Va.] Speedway and Gateway [Ill.] International Raceway), and finished second in his only non-victory of the year at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway. In 2010, Harvick has an average starting position of 3.75 and an average finish of 1.25 in the No. 2 truck.

COMPLETING THE SET: Harvick has already experienced success at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series, and he is looking to achieve the same success in the Truck Series this weekend in Loudon, New Hampshire. Harvick won both the pole position and the race in the Cup Series in the fall of 2006, and in the Nationwide Series, he has scored a win and four first-place starting positions (three poles awarded by speed [2007, 2005 and 2001], one set by the NASCAR Rule Book due to weather [2003]) at the 1.058-mile oval. Should Harvick win this weekend, he would become the second driver to win in all of NASCAR’s top-three series (Cup, Nationwide, and Truck) at the “Magic Mile,” joining Kyle Busch in the record books after he completed the feat by winning the Truck Series race last fall. Harvick would become the first driver to win a pole in each of the top-three series at NHMS if he qualifies fastest this weekend.

WELCOME JEGS: Harvick will sport a bright new paint scheme this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, as KHI welcomes aboard JEGS.com as sponsor of the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado. The KHI partnership comes amidst the JEGS Mail Order 50th anniversary celebration, which the high-performance retailer has been celebrating throughout 2010 via consumer promotions and motorsports sponsorships.

THOUGHTS FROM THE BOSS: Kevin Harvick

What are your thoughts going into the race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway?

“I always look forward to the flat racetracks like New Hampshire Motor Speedway, since I’ve always been successful on them and so has our team. Ron [Hornaday] has three wins at the track, two of them in KHI trucks, so I have no doubt that we have the ability to show up and win. Tracks like Loudon are a lot of fun, and I’ve won there in both the Cup and Nationwide Series, so it would be cool if I can get the Truck Series win and add this to the list of tracks where I have won in all three series. ”

What makes racing on a flat track like New Hampshire more enjoyable?

“I’ve always liked the flat tracks. New Hampshire is a lot like Phoenix and I grew up racing there (Phoenix) when I was first starting out, so I feel like that my success on flat tracks has carried over to my career in NASCAR’s top series. There’s a lot of braking. You have to really work on getting your car through the center of the corner and still have the forward bite you need up off the corner, so you get all three aspects of the truck, the driver and the set-up all in one.”

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Shelby Howard recorded his career-best Kentucky Speedway finish of 19th in the Built Ford Tough 225. Howard fought a loose-handling truck throughout the race, but was able to record a top-20 finish in the Bluegrass State.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 team will utilize chassis No. 049 this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. No. 049 is a brand-new chassis which has not yet seen a lap of competition. All three of Harvick’s Truck Series wins in 2010 have been in a brand-new chassis.

  • Ron Hornaday Advance: New Hampshire Motor Speedway Advance

BACK-TO-BACK: Ron Hornaday is the only back-to-back Truck Series winner at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). Hornaday recorded two of his three wins at the 1.058-mile oval back-to-back, winning in 2008 and 2007. Not only is Hornaday the only back-to-back winner at NHMS, he is also the only Truck Series driver to win multiple Truck Series races at the track.

FROM THE POLE: Winning from the pole position is a difficult task. Hornaday has met the challenge 10 times in his 13-year Truck Series career. In 2007, Hornaday brought the No. 33 Chevrolet to victory lane from the pole position at NHMS, leading 174 of the 200-lap event.

LAP LEADER: Over the past five Truck Series events held at NHMS, Hornaday has led a total of 480 laps. Hornaday has led 48 percent of the laps at NHMS over the past five events.

IN THE LOOP: Not only is Hornaday the Truck Series lap leader at NHMS, he also holds the top spot in several of NASCAR’s Loop Data Statistical categories for the Truck Series over the last five Truck Series events at NHMS including:

-Driver Rating: Hornaday has an average driver rating of 133.4 out of a perfect 150.0 score at NHMS. Driver rating takes into account wins, finishes, top-15 finishes, average running position while on lead lap, average speed under green, fastest lap, led most laps and lead-lap. Hornaday holds the top spot over KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick who has an average driver rating of 123.4

-Fastest Driver Early in a Run: This category ranks drivers based on their speed in the first 25percent of laps run since a pit stop. Hornaday leads Johnny Sauter by over one-tenth of a second in the first laps since a pit stop has been completed at NHMS.

-Fastest Laps Run: Hornaday has recorded 136 of the fastest laps run at NHMS. That is 56 more than his closest competitor in this category, Kyle Busch.

NOT THE ONLY WINNER: Hornaday is not the only KHI driver to win a race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) co-owner Kevin Harvick has gone to victory lane in both the Cup and Nationwide Series at NHMS. Harvick scored his first NHMS win in the Cup Series in 2006 and a year later, he arrived back in victory lane in the Nationwide Series. Harvick will attempt to complete the trifecta this weekend as he climbs behind the wheel of the No. 2 JEGS.com Chevrolet looking to score his first Truck Series victory at the 1.058-mile oval.

INAUGURAL WINNER: Hornaday, who lead the series in wins, with 46, has won 10 inaugural races during his storied 13-year career in the Truck Series. The four-time Truck Series champion beat rival Jack Sprague on September 8, 1996 by 0.322 seconds to score his first win event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the Truck Series inaugural event at the track.

Notes from the Professor: Quotes from Ron Hornaday:

YOU ARE THE ONLY TRUCK SERIES DRIVER TO WIN AT NEW HAMPSHIRE MULTIPY TIMES. WHAT ARE THE KEYS TO WINNING AT THE ONE-MILE OVAL?

“New Hampshire is a flat oval that requires a lot of braking and doing it in the right spots. I grew up racing on tracks formatted exactly like New Hampshire so I love racing there. To win the race all the pit stops are going to have to fall just right and you are going to have to be able to roll the center of the corner with your truck. Kevin (Harvick) and Kyle (Busch) will be racing with us this weekend, so we are all going to have to be on our game. Both of those guys have tons of laps around New Hampshire and they know what it takes to win. I am confident the No. 33 team will be right there with them in the closing laps. I’m ready to get back to short-track racing.”

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 Shopezgo.com team will take chassis No. 043 to New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Chassis No. 043 last hit the track at O’Reilly (Ind.) Raceway Park (ORP) where Hornaday and the No. 33 team scored their first and only victory thus far in 2010. Prior to ORP, KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick drover chassis No. 043 to victory lane at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. This truck also competed at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway with Hornaday behind the wheel in the spring, earning a third-place finish. The average finish for chassis No. 043 in 2010 is 1.7.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Two weeks ago at Kentucky Speedway, Hornaday led 23 laps early in the event, but a flat-right front tire with five laps remaining in the 150-lap event relegated Hornaday to a 29th-place finish.
