    Saturday, May 14 | Kansas City, Kan. | 8 p.m. ET

TV: FS1 | Radio: Motor Racing Network (MRN), Sirius XM Ch. 90

Alan on making his debut at Kansas Speedway: “Another first time track for us, but that’s one of the challenges of being a rookie, so you have to embrace it. Our AUTOParkit Niece Motorsports Silverado should be pretty good at Kansas this weekend. The intermediate package seems to be really fast – we had a lot of speed at Las Vegas – we had a lot of speed last week at Darlington and it’s exciting to go back to that same style track. Our overall performance has been good so far, I just have to figure out how to stay out of other people’s messes. Once I get that part figured out I think we’re capable of getting the No. 45 up front. I wouldn’t count us out.”

Alan at Kansas Speedway: Alan makes his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Kansas Speedway Saturday night.

On the Truck: Alan will pilot the No. 45 AUTOParkit Chevrolet Silverado Saturday night at Kansas.

Last Time Out (Dead On Tools 200 – Start: 19th / Finish: 26th): Alan and the No. 45 team faced early adversity Friday night when he was sent for a spin in turn three on lap 20 to bring out the caution. Alan rebounded to secure a 24th-place finish in Stage One.

On lap 72 with the end of Stage Two looming, Alan had a right front tire go down and was forced to pit under green for four tires. Fortunately, the caution flag waved two laps later and Alan was awarded the free pass to get back on the lead lap before crossing the line 23rd in Stage Two. Alan continued to battle his way through traffic in the final stage of the night, resulting in a 19th-place finish.

With another top-20 finish, Alan remains the Sunoco Rookie of the Year points leader heading into Saturday night’s race at Kansas.

    Follow the Team: @NieceMotorsport; @KrisOnNASCAR

Wright on making his return to Kansas Speedway: “I am super excited to have Big Dog Energy back on the No. 44 Chevrolet Silverado this week. The paint scheme looks amazing.

“Kansas Speedway is one of my favorite tracks – super fast and wide-open, where drafting will be a huge component. We had a lot of potential at the Darlington Raceway, and we are taking the same Chevrolet. So, everyone is positive this weekend. Hoping for a top-ten finish.”

Wright at Kansas Speedway: This weekend marks Kris Wright’s second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series appearance at the Darlington Raceway. The Wexford, Pa., – native has one start at the Kansas Speedway, with a 33rd-place finish on May 1, 2021.

In addition, Wright has two (2020, 2021) ARCA Menards Series starts at the Kansas Speedway with two top-seven finishes. He posted a career-best sixth-place finish on October 16, 2020.

On the Truck: The Big Dog Energy paint scheme returns to the No. 44 Big Dog Energy Chevrolet Silverado Saturday night at Kansas.

Last Time Out (Dead On Tools 200 – Start: 21st / Finish: 32nd): Wright and the No. 44 team made up critical track position at the halfway point of Stage One when the team elected not to pit under caution on lap 22, positioning them in sixth-place on the restart. Wright battled to hold track position the rest of the way in the stage on old tires, resulting in a 26th-place finish.

After running to a 25th-place finish in Stage Two, Wright restarted 21st for the final stage and was narrowly collected in a multi-truck incident in turn four on lap 98, causing right side damage. The No. 44 team worked to make repairs but was forced to take its Chevrolet Silverado behind the wall under NASCAR’s damaged vehicle policy, resulting in a 32nd-place finish.

Carson Hocevar – Heart of America 200 Race Advance

Race Advance – Heart of America 200 (134 Laps/201 Miles) | Kansas Speedway

    Saturday, May 14 | Kansas City, Kan. | 8 p.m. ET

TV: FS1 | Radio: Motor Racing Network (MRN), Sirius XM Ch. 90

Team: No. 42 Premier Security Solutions/Flint Police Chevrolet Silverado

Driver: Carson Hocevar (Portage, Mich.) | Crew Chief: Phil Gould

    Follow the Team: @NieceMotorsport; @CarsonHocevar

Hocevar on Kansas: “We have a lot to look forward to at Kansas this week. Producing consecutive second-place finishes is big for not only myself, but Niece Motorsports and the No. 42 team, too. It’s really good to show the improvements we’ve made and to have a lot of points in the bank that we did not have three weeks ago. The ability to show our speed at three completely different race tracks over the past month is encouraging and I have a lot of confidence in our intermediate program.”

Hocevar on honoring the Flint Police Department and National Police Week with this week’s paint scheme: “It is a great privilege to be able to honor Captain Collin Birnie during National Police Week this Saturday night at Kansas with Premier Security Solutions. Our No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado will carry the names of 12 fallen police officers in the Flint, Mich. community and we’re looking forward to paying tribute to them. I really appreciate all of Premier Security Solutions’ efforts to bring this scheme to the track as well as their commitment to the Flint community. Hopefully we can make them proud with a strong run Saturday night.”

Hocevar at Kansas Speedway: Hocevar makes his second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Kansas Saturday night. He ran to a 23rd-place finish in his Kansas debut last season after starting 11th.

On the Truck: Hocevar’s No. 42 Premier Security Solutions Chevrolet Silverado features a new look this week at Kansas, honoring the Flint Police Department during National Police Week. The navy blue truck proudly displays the Flint Police Department on the hood and the names of fallen Flint police officers on the bed top. Captain Collin Birnie’s name will be displayed above the driver’s side door.

Last Time Out (Dead On Tools 200 – Start: 6th / Finish: 2nd): Hocevar quickly made his way into the top-five Friday night and was a mainstay at the front of the field. Following a four tire stop under caution on lap 20, he made his way back into the top-10 and ultimately crossed the line third at the end of Stage One. The No. 42 team put together one of its best stops of the night during the stage break to position Hocevar on the front row to begin Stage Two and ran behind race leader Ross Chastain for much of the stage. After another four tire stop under caution on lap 76, Hocevar made the pass on Chastain with three to go in Stage Two and went on to claim his first career stage win.

After making adjustments to remedy a loose handling condition under caution on lap 116, Hocevar made his way back up to second-place in the final laps of the race but was unable to chase down race winner John Hunter Nemechek as an electrical issue plagued the No. 42 on the final lap.

Hocevar led twice for nine laps en route to his second-consecutive runner-up finish this season.

  • Corey Heim – No. 51 JBL Tundra TRD Pro Camping World Trucks Kansas Preview

Corey Heim – No. 51 JBL Tundra TRD Pro Camping World Trucks Kansas Preview

Corey Heim: Driver, No. 51 JBL® Toyota

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Overview:
    Event: Heart of America 200, Race 8 of 23, 134 Laps –30/30/74; 201 Miles
Location: Kansas Speedway in Kansas City (1.5-mile tri-oval)
    Date/Broadcast: May 14, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR 90

    The Story on Corey:

Corey Heim returns to the No. 51 JBL Tundra TRD Pro for this week’s Heart of America 200 at Kansas Speedway. For Heim, who ran three races last year and is running a limited schedule again this year, it will be the first time that he has raced in consecutive races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in his budding career. Despite having just seven starts under his belt, the talented teenager already collected his first series win earlier this year at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway. Overall, in six starts, he has tallied 24 laps led and an average finish of 17.8.

Despite not being slated for a full-time schedule this year, Heim is competing for the 2022 Truck Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year award. Having only competed in three of the seven events this season, he sits fourth in the standings, 34 points behind Lawless Alan. Heim will look to join three other KBM drivers that have won the award, reigning winner Chandler Smith, William Byron (2016) and Erik Jones (2015).

While he has yet to tackle Kansas Speedway in a truck, it was the site of his first career ARCA Menards Series victory. Heim led 82 of 100 laps en route to his first series victory on Oct. 16, 2020. In addition to his victory, he has four other starts at Kansas in the ARCA Menards Series, all finishes of fourth or better. By the time the Truck Series takes the green flag on Saturday night, Heim will have another ARCA start under his belt as he is pulling double duty this weekend driving the No. 20 Camry in Saturday afternoon’s ARCA race.

Saturday’s ARCA Menards Series event is part of Heim’s six-race schedule for Venturini Motorsports. Heim led 74 of 90 laps en route to the victory at Daytona in February to pick up his eighth career ARCA Menards Series victory. Across 38 career ARCA Menards Series starts he has produced 588 laps led, 28 top-five and 37 top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 4.1. Heim finished second to Ty Gibbs in the 2021 ARCA Menards Series championship standings.

Heim made three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts for KBM in 2021, with a best result of 11th coming at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. Heim had an impressive Truck Series debut at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway last May, where he led two laps, finished Stage Two in the runner-up position and was running second when he got turned from behind on a restart with just under 30 laps remaining. The incident forced him to the garage and ended his night with a disappointing 23rd-place finish.

Mardy Lindley returns to KBM for his second season atop the pit box of the No. 51 team. In addition to this year’s with Heim, the No. 51 team produced three victories in Lindley’s first season as a crew chief at KBM, two with owner-driver Kyle Busch and one with Martin Truex Jr. Before arriving at KBM, Lindley guided his drivers to 32 wins and four ARCA Menards Series East championships since 2013, including back-to-back titles with Sam Mayer the last two seasons. Additionally, he earned the ARCA Menards Series Sioux Chief Showdown championship with Mayer in 2020. Behind the wheel, the second-generation driver won 11 races on the Pro Cup Series from 2000 to 2006 and was crowned the series champion in 2001. In his lone Truck Series race at Kansas, Lindley was victorious with KBM owner-driver Kyle Busch last year. Busch led a race-high 59 laps to give Lindley his third career Truck Series victory as a crew chief.

JBL, the authority in engineering superior sound, returns to KBM for an eighth season and will be the primary sponsor on Heim’s Toyota for 10 races this season including Saturday’s race at Kansas. Crescent Tools, a premier hand tool brand from Apex Tool Group, will serve as a primary sponsor for four of Heim’s races, beginning July 29 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis (Ind.) Raceway Park.

    Corey Heim, Driver Q&A:
Corey Heim | Kansas Speedway Preview
Kansas was the site of your first career ARCA win. Is it a special track to you?
“Yeah, absolutely. As you mentioned my first ARCA win was huge for me. I’ve been their four times – which I think is more than any ARCA track or any NASCAR style track that I’ve been to in the past – so I’m really looking to getting out there in my JBL Tundra TRD Pro this weekend and hopefully having a good run.”

You won in your last mile-and-a-half start at Atlanta. Does that give you confidence going into Kansas?
“For sure, as a driver Kansas is a lot different than Atlanta as far as the package that you have to bring to the race track and how you drive the track is a lot different. It will be a lot less throttle time than Atlanta for sure, but I’m confident that KBM gave me a really good truck at Atlanta and its going to be a similar downforce package and everything with how we set the truck up, so I feel like that is going to be a really good advantage going to Kansas.”

You’re in a stretch where you are in the JBL Tundra TRD Pro for three consecutive races. Does that help you get in a rhythm?
“One-hundred percent. The months off were definitely rough from Daytona to Atlanta and then Atlanta to Darlington. To be back in the truck on a consistent basis – I think I’ve got six of the next eight or something like that – and working with Mardy Lindley and my JBL crew is definitely going to be an advantage for sure.”

    Chandler Smith, Driver Q&A:

You’ve been strong on mile-and-a-half tracks this year with a win at Las Vegas and a near win at Atlanta. Are you looking forward to Kansas?
“Yeah, for sure. Just like I was telling my crew chief Danny Stockman, Kansas and Vegas are really similar. The lateral load differences, the banking and the actual shape of the track, make them really similar. With that being said, I’m really happy to get my Charge Me Tundra back out to Kansas.”

Is the Kansas race important one because it is also the elimination race in the Round of 10 of the Playoffs?
“Oh yeah, a thousand percent. Also, with that being said, last year we really weren’t that great at Kansas. So, kind of going back and re-baselining, because we were good there two years ago when I was in the 51 there. We were really good and had a truck capable of winning the race. Last year, we weren’t very good at all. So re-baselining, going back with kind of what we know worked before at Kansas combined with our Vegas package and hopefully, we can charge to the front.”

Smith Looks to Continue Streak of Top-10 Finishes

Ready to Put Speedco in Victory Lane for Third Time in 2022

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 10, 2022) – Zane Smith and the No. 38 Speedco Ford Performance F-150 team head to the Kansas Speedway looking to add win number three to the 2022 season.

Smith enters this weekend’s race on a streak of five consecutive top-10 finishes. The team also has three top-five finishes and is the only driver with multiple wins in 2022. Smith is fifth in the current championship standings and leads the Playoff standings.

“We can’t ask for a better start to the season,” Smith stated. “This streak of top-10 results isn’t something I really try to focus on at the track. We’re trying to win every race, but we have been able to put together some strong races. The results then follow. But the position we are in with the two wins, we can be aggressive to try and get more. We want to get more.”

Smith hopes to put the Speedco brand back in Victory Lane this weekend, in what would be his first victory at a mile-and-a-half track.

“It’s crazy that I haven’t picked up a win at a mile-and-a-half track yet,” said Smith. “It is bound to happen at some point. Hopefully, we can park in Victory Lane this weekend with Speedco partners in attendance. I can’t thank them enough for what they do for myself and our No. 38 team.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas will air live on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET on FS1.
