    Race: 11 of 22
    Event: SpeedyCash.com 220 (147 laps, 220 miles)

    Schedule
    Race: 1:00 p.m. ET (FOX Sports 1)

Hailie Deegan, No. 1 Toter Ford F-150

    • Deegan is making her 12th career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start and her first start at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. The Ford driver will start from the 12th position on Saturday afternoon in the No. 1 Toter F-150.
    • The Texas track will be Deegan’s second consecutive mile-and-a-half track after finishing 13th two weeks ago at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. The California native started 12th at Charlotte after qualifying was cancelled due to rain. Deegan ran in the top-10 in her first start at the mile-and-a-half track, but was relegated to a 13th-place finish after several late-race cautions.
    • The rookie driver has five career truck starts at mile-and-a-half tracks with a best finish of 13th earned at Charlotte and Kansas Speedway in Kansas.
    • Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. has six career wins at Texas with his most recent victory captured in 2013 with Jeb Burton. The other five of Hillman’s wins were earned with Todd Bodine in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010.

Tanner Gray, No. 15 Ford Performance F-150

    • Gray makes his 11th start of the 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season on Saturday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. He will start the 147-lap event from the 20th position.
    • At Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway two weeks ago, an early spin on lap 50 trapped the Ford driver one lap down and he was unable to get his lap back throughout the rest of the race which left him with a 22nd-place finish.
    • The 22-year-old has two career starts at Texas both coming in 2020. In the summer event, Gray’s day was ended after 43 laps by transmission issues and he was credited with a 36th-place finish. A nice rebound in the fall race saw the No. 15 charge from a 23rd-place starting position to 10th.
    • Although it will be Seth Smith’s first time serving as crew chief at Texas, it will be his 14th career NCWTS race and ninth at a speedway between 1-2 miles in length.

Chandler Smith – No. 18 Safelite AutoGlass Tundra Camping World Trucks Texas Preview

Chandler Smith Camping World Trucks Texas Preview (printable)
Chandler Smith: Driver, No. 18 Safelite AutoGlass® Toyota

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Overview:
    Event: SpeedyCash.com 220, Race 11 of 22, 147 Laps – 35/35/77; 220.5 Miles
Location: Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth (1.5-mile quad-oval)
    Date/Broadcast: June 12, 2021 at 1 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR 90

Mr. Smith Goes to The Lone Star State:

    • Chandler Smith and the No. 18 Safelite AutoGlass team head to Texas Motor Speedway this week for the SpeedyCash.com 220. Smith was relegated to a 21st-place finish in his lone start at Texas last October. Smith had a fast Tundra, finishing third in the opening stage and sixth in Stage Two, before an unfortunate series of events occurred. He was running fifth when he made his final scheduled pit stop of the event but lost several positions when he was unable to exit his pit stall cleanly due to a competitor in front of him being at the back of his pit stall. After starting at the rear of the field on the ensuing restart, he made his way just outside the top 10 before contact from another competitor sent him into the wall and caused significant damage.
    • Smith has posted two top-five finishes on mile-and-a-half tracks in his young career, finishing fifth at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway in 2020. His best result this year in four starts on 1.5-mile tracks was a sixth-place finish at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway in the Camping World Truck series most recent event.
    • Smith’s sixth-place finish at Charlotte allowed him to close the gap on the 10th and final spot in the Camping World Truck Series playoffs. He currently sits 10 points behind Johnny Sauter for that coveted spot with five races remaining in the regular season. Across 10 starts this season, Smith has one top-five and three top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 19.0. He produced a season-best result of fourth at Richmond (Va.) Raceway in April. He sits second in Rookie of the Year standings, 53 points behind Carson Hocevar. Smith has earned the rookie of the race award four times this season. The Toyota Racing Development driver has nine top-five, and 12 top-10 finishes across 26 career Camping World Truck Series starts, including a career-best runner-up finish at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway in 2019.
    • Smith spent his off weekend from Truck Series racing competing in a Super Late Model race Friday, June 4 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla. He set the fast time in qualifying, started fourth after the invert and led from lap 15 to 68 of the 100-lap event before engine issues ended his night.
    • Veteran crew chief Danny Stockman will call the shots for Smith and the No. 18 team this season. Stockman led the No. 51 team to four wins in his first season atop the pit box at KBM in 2020. He came to the organization with experience as a crew chief in all three national series, including a Truck Series championship with Austin Dillon in 2011 and an Xfinity Series championship with Dillon in 2013. Stockman’s Camping World Truck Series drivers have one win, three top-five and three top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 13.0 across six starts at Texas. Stockman called the shots for Kyle Busch’s victory in The Lone Star State last July.
    • Kyle Busch Motorsports’ (KBM) eight wins at Texas are equal to the organization-best eight they have recorded at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. Owner-driver Kyle Busch’s victory at Texas last July was his fourth for his organization (2010, 2014, 2019 & 2020). Greg Biffle (2020), Christopher Bell (2017), William Byron (2016) and Erik Jones (2015) all have one victory for KBM at Texas.
    • KBM has collected the trophy at all four mile-and-a-half races in 2021, with John Hunter Nemechek winning at Charlotte and Las Vegas while Kyle Busch brought home the trophy at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway in Kansas City. KBM drivers have combined to lead 70.1% (379/538) of the total laps in the four races on 1.5-mile tracks this season.
    • Safelite AutoGlass – the nation’s largest provider of vehicle glass repair, replacement, and recalibration services – will be the primary sponsor of Smith’s Tundra this weekend at Charlotte and for 15 races total this season. Smith General Contracting and Fairfield Residential will be associate partners on the bedtop of the No. 18 Toyota for Friday’s 147-lap event.

    Chandler Smith, Driver Q&A:

Do you have confidence heading into Texas, which is similar to Charlotte where you just finished sixth?
“I definitely have confidence building up heading to Texas after the strong run at Charlotte. They are similar tracks with their own characteristics, but at the end of the day, they are still mile-and-a-halves. Our 1.5-mile program is getting stronger, so I’m looking forward to Texas and having a good starting position with our Safelite AutoGlass Toyota Tundra to get on out there and let it rip.”

With racing at Texas last year, are you able to prepare better for a track that you’ve already raced at?
“Racing at Texas last year is going to be a big help going back this weekend. Texas 1 and 2 is kind of a difficult corner to an extent with all the air and stuff, being in dirty air, and how to make lap time in dirty air. Having some experience behind me going back there is going to help. I’m looking forward to it.”

You ran a Super Late Model over the off weekend. Although it’s not the same as a truck, how beneficial is getting extra seat time with not having a lot of practice this year?
“It’s huge. It’s always keeping my feet wet in racing something even on the off weekend is big. Anything I can get my hands on for some seat time. Super Late Models are always preferred. I love racing those things. Every time I get in one, I learn something new every single time. It’s really beneficial. The car control and handling you have to have to be good in those things is insane, but I love racing them. It’s always fun to race them on an off weekend.”

    Chandler Smith Career Highlights:

    • Across 26 career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts has recorded 139 laps led, nine top-five and 12 top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 14.9.
    • Posted an average finish of 7.7 across his final seven of 12 total Truck Series starts in 2020, including third-place finishes in the series finale at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway and his first career superspeedway start at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in October.
    • Produced three top-five and four top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 4.2 across his first four career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts in 2019. He led 55 laps and finished eighth in his Gander Trucks debut at Iowa Speedway last July and then posted top-five finishes in his final three starts, including a runner-up finish at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.
    • Has collected nine wins, 10 poles, 1761 laps led, 22 top-five and 29 top-10 finishes en route to an average finish of 5.2 across 33 career ARCA Menards Series starts. Set an ARCA Racing Series record by winning four consecutive poles to start his career and earned his first victory after leading a race-high 102 laps at Madison (Wis.) International Speedway in his fourth series start.

Chandler Smith’s No. 18 Safelite AutoGlass Tundra:
KBM-070: The No. 18 Safelite AutoGlass team will unload chassis number KBM-070 for Saturday’s 147-lap event at Texas. It’s the same Tundra that Smith drove to a sixth-place finish at Charlotte in the series most recent event. The Toyota also had a 19th-place finish with Smith earlier this year at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway in its debut race.

    • Eric Phillips returns to KBM to lead the No. 4 team this season. Phillips led the No. 18 team at KBM in its debut season in 2010 and helped build the organization into one of the premier teams in all of NASCAR before departing at the end of the 2014 season. John Hunter Nemechek, Driver Q&A:

After everything that happened at Charlotte, what did it mean to get the win?

“Starting off the way we did at Charlotte by going P1 on the board to the next lap hitting the fence was not the way we wanted to start off the weekend. I guess we got it out of the way early. We were able to fix that truck and take it to victory lane. It meant a lot to myself and the team. We were in there working, trying to get it back together to not pull a backup truck out, and luckily it wasn’t as bad as we thought it was. We were able to get it going.”

How similar is Texas compared to Charlotte?
“I feel like it used to be similar before the repave. I feel like it’s definitely changed a lot now with the repave. The same aspect applies with the PJ1 being applied like Charlotte did. Hopefully it will make for some great racing and come in fast since we are the first ones on the track this weekend. There are a lot of unknowns going into the weekend. Texas has always been a good place for me. I hope to bring home another win on a mile-and-a-half.”

With five races left in the regular season, is winning the regular season championship on your mind?
“Getting the regular season championship is a goal for us. We are #Here4Wins. We want to win everything we can, from races to championships to anything plus. Winning the regular season championship gives you a big bonus going into the Playoffs. We have five more races to go and try to win to continue our points lead. We have to maximize our days and our potential and can increase that lead by the end of those five races.”

    • The Georgia native made his first career start on a mile-and-a-half track in the Truck Series in the series last event at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. Dollar was running inside the top 10 with 20 laps remaining in the event when he attempted to avoid a truck that was slowed on the frontstretch and got clipped from behind. The incident caused significant damage, and while the over-the-wall crew was making repairs, Dollar went a lap down. He would end the night credited with a 20th-place finish. In his Camping World Trucks debut in February, Dollar exited Turn 4 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in the third position on the final lap before getting clipped from behind and getting swept up in a last-lap crash. Despite the incident, the 20-year-old driver brought the JBL Tundra home in the 10th position.
    • Dollar has recorded an average finish of 5.3 across six career starts on 1.5-mile circuits in the ARCA Menards Series, including a runner-up finish at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City earlier this year.
    • After Saturday’s event, the remaining five races on Dollar’s schedule in the No. 51 Tundra this season are Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway (June 18), Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway (Sept. 16), Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway (Sept. 24), Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway (Oct. 2) and the series finale at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway (Nov. 5).
    • In addition to his part-time schedule with KBM in the Truck Series, Dollar is competing in a limited schedule in the ARCA Menards Series this season with Venturini Motorsports. Despite not being schedule to compete in the full season and missing one event so far, the 20-year-old driver ranks fifth in the standings behind the strength of an average finish of 5.0 across his six starts this year.
    • The Toyota Racing Development driver finished fourth in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings in 2020 after recording one win, four top-five and 14 top-10 finishes across 20 starts. Dollar led 40 laps en route to his lone series victory at Talladega Superspeedway last June. He also finished inside the top 10 in both of his ARCA Menards Series starts in 2019, including a sixth-place finish in his series debut at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway.
    • After 10 events, the No. 51 sits third in the Camping World Truck Series owner standings, 63 tallies behind KBM’s No. 4 team. The No. 51 team is tied for the series lead with the No. 4 team with three victories. Owner-driver Kyle Busch collected victories at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Ga., and Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, while Martin Truex Jr. picked up first-ever Truck Series victory at the Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway Dirt Track.
    • Mardy Lindley is in his first season as a crew chief at KBM. Before arriving at KBM, Lindley guided his drivers to 32 wins and four ARCA Menards Series East championships since 2013, including back-to-back titles with Sam Mayer the last two seasons. Additionally, he earned the ARCA Menards Series Sioux Chief Showdown championship with Mayer in 2020. Behind the wheel, the second-generation driver won 11 races on the Pro Cup Series from 2000 to 2006 and was crowned the series champion in 2001. Friday night will be Lindley’s first time calling a race at Texas.
    • Kyle Busch Motorsports’ (KBM) eight wins at Texas are equal to the organization-best eight they have at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. Owner-driver Kyle Busch’s victory at Texas in July of 2020 was his fourth for his organization (2010, 2014, 2019 & 2020). Greg Biffle (2020), Christopher Bell (2017), William Byron (2016) and Erik Jones (2015) all have one victory for KBM in The Lone Star State.

    Drew Dollar, Driver Q&A:

What can you apply from Charlotte to this weekend at Texas?
“Takeaways from the Charlotte race is just a lot of confidence in knowing how to drive the Sunbelt Rentals Tundra. Now, I’ll be able to go into Texas knowing what to expect and know how the truck drives.”

How have you prepared for Texas with the lack of practice?
“I’m actually excited to fire off without any practice. I think that will be fun even though I’m going to be one of the guys with the least amount of experience out there, but with the Toyota simulator, watching in-car video and previous races at Texas, I think that’ll be very beneficial to me when we show up without any practice.”

What are the differences between racing an ARCA car and a truck on 1.5-mile tracks?
“The ARCA mile-and-a-halves in the Sunbelt Rentals Camry are very different than the Sunbelt Rentals Toyota Tundra even though they seem like they should be similar, but they are quite different with how the car drives versus the truck. Just all the takeaways I was able to learn from Charlotte and also racing the ARCA back-to-back with the truck really showed me how different they are. Now, I’ll be able to go into Texas knowing how the Sunbelt Rentals Toyota Tundra is going to drive and use all the things I learned and apply it when we unload.”

    Drew Dollar Career Highlights:

    • Has one top-10 finish and an average result of 15.0 across two career Camping World Truck Series starts.
    • Across 27 career ARCA Menards Series starts has one win, 98 laps led, eight top-five and 21 top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 7.7.
    • Picked up his first career ARCA Menards Series victory at Talladega Superspeedway June 20, 2020.
    • Finished fourth in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings in 2020 after recording one win, four top-five and 14 top-10 finishes across 20 starts.

    • KBM holds the Camping World Truck Series records for most career wins (86) and most wins in a single season (14 in 2014). Record Rack’s ‘Bucks for the Brave’ is Back with Spencer Boyd

Mooresville, NC (June 8, 2021) – In their fourth season of partnership with NASCAR driver Spencer Boyd, Record Rack® premium wildlife feed (brand owned by Cargill, Inc.), is again asking for nominations of heroes to attend their annual Bucks for the Brave charitable event. This contest allows you to nominate Veterans (no longer serving) and retired First Responders (Law Enforcement, Firefighters) to win the hunting experience of a lifetime.

Spencer Boyd commented on the event, “There was such a great response from NASCAR fans the last time we had Bucks for the Brave on the truck. We want to continue to grow awareness of what Record Rack is doing for these service members by rolling it out during the NASCAR Salutes timeframe. I’ll be driving a super-patriotic red, white, and blue paint scheme with the Bucks for the Brave Challenge Coin on the hood at Texas Motor Speedway to drive the message home. I’m just humbled to do my part for this great event.”

Bucks for the Brave is an all-expense paid trip that will take place later this year. The event will be hosted at Trinity Oaks’ Thumbtack Ranch in Batesville, TX, which is the only nationally recognized Purple Heart Ranch in the United States. One winner from each of our seven categories will be chosen: Air Force Veteran, Army Veteran, Coast Guard Veteran, Marine Corps Veteran, Navy Veteran, Retired Firefighter, and Retired Law Enforcement. To receive notification of when the nomination process opens visit https://www.spencerboyd.net/bucks-for-the-brave.

“We want to honor these heroes by sharing their stories, and provide them the chance for this once in a lifetime experience,” said Wildlife Marketing Lead, Jodi Cornelison. “Spending time in the outdoors is a way for many to unwind and recharge from daily life. Bringing these heroes together that have formerly served, gives them back some of the comradery they have been missing. We at Sportman’s Choice® & Record Rack want to recognize these men and women for their service and sacrifices and provide a product that helps them further enjoy wildlife in the outdoors.”

Record Rack’s Bucks for the Brave No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado will head to Young’s Motorsports home state of Texas on Saturday, June 12 for NASCAR’s All-Star Weekend. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 220 at Texas Motor Speedway can be seen live on FS1 or heard on the Motor Racing Network or Sirius XM Radio Channel 90 beginning at 1:00pm ET.

  • WILLIAM BYRON TO DRIVE FOR RACKLEY W.A.R. AT NASHVILLE SUPERSPEEDWAY

WILLIAM BYRON TO DRIVE FOR RACKLEY W.A.R. AT NASHVILLE SUPERSPEEDWAY

Rackley W.A.R. to Field the No. 27 Chevrolet Silverado in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

Centerville, Tenn. (June 3, 2021)—Rackley W.A.R., co-owned by Willie Allen and Curtis Sutton, announced today that the team will field a second entry in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Rackley Roofing 200 at the Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway on Friday, June 18 with NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) driver William Byron.

NASCAR returns to racing in the Music City for a tripleheader on Father’s Day weekend. The Camping World Truck Series returns to the track for the first time since 2011, and it will also be the first NASCAR Cup Series event at the track. The concrete track located in Lebanon, Tenn., was built in 2001 by Dover Motorsports and hosted NASCAR series events until 2011.

Byron, in the No. 27 Rackley Roofing Chevrolet Silverado, will return to the Camping World Truck Series for the first time since 2016 when he competes with Rackley W.A.R. By entering the Rackley Roofing 200, the 23-year-old will get additional seat time to prepare for the NASCAR Cup Series event on Sunday, June 20.

“I am excited for the opportunity to get behind-the-wheel in the Camping World Truck Series again,” Byron said. “I haven’t been in a truck for a while, so the opportunity to do so with Rackley W.A.R. allows me to get back and accustomed again. I have never raced at Nashville Superspeedway before either. While I think that the NASCAR Cup Series entries will handle differently compared to the trucks, the Rackley Roofing 200 will give me a chance to learn a few things on my end that I may not be able to try. Plus, this gives me a chance to get more acclimated to the track overall – I can learn the braking zones, pit road entrance and exit, and the overall characteristics of Nashville Superspeedway.”

The driver of the Hendrick Motorsports No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE in the NASCAR Cup Series made his national series debut in 2015 in the Camping World Truck Series. Byron has built an extensive racing résumé with the 2015 ARCA Menards Series East championship (formerly known as the K&N Pro Series East), 2016 Rookie of the Year honors in the Camping World Truck Series, collecting both the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) championship and the title of Rookie of the Year in 2017, and a two-time winner in the NASCAR Cup Series collecting rookie of the year honors in 2018. In the Camping World Truck Series, he has seven victories, 11 top-five finishes and 16 top-ten finishes in 24 starts.

“I hope to be able to have a good run for the Rackley W.A.R. team,” Byron said. “This helps them to build a notebook and give them something to work off of for the future. I am excited to be back in a truck and see what we can do at Nashville Superspeedway.”

Byron has 14 combined Camping World Truck Series starts on speedways (tracks 1 to 2-miles in length). He has collected five wins, six top-five finishes and eight top-10 finishes as the series makes its debut at the 1.333-mile track.

He will be paired with a familiar face from Rackley W.A.R., Willie Allen, who will crew chief Byron and the No. 27 Rackley Roofing Chevrolet Silverado team.

“We are excited to have William Byron join our team for the Rackley Roofing 200,” Allen said. “He is a very talented driver and we are looking forward to working with him. His experience in the top level of NASCAR is valuable to Rackley W.A.R. as a team.”

The Rackley Roofing 200 at the Nashville Superspeedway will be broadcast live on FS1 on Friday, June 18 at 8:00 p.m. (ET). It will also broadcast live at 7:30 p.m. (ET) on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
