Mooresville, NC (May 3, 2021) – Spencer Boyd and Young’s Motorsports unveiled plans today for their 2021 Darlington Throwback paint scheme honoring three-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion, Jack Sprague. Boyd’s sponsor, Credit MRI, will forego its beloved neon green to pay homage to Sprague’s 2007 No. 60 Con-Way Freight colors.
Boyd commented on what throwbacks mean to him, “I take the Darlington weekend very seriously. I love what NASCAR and Darlington have done with this (throwback) weekend. It allows me to look back at racing history to find something special to me, our team, or our sport and this year is no different. Jack Sprague was part of the inaugural year trucks ran back in 1995. He is a three-time champion. He paved the way for guys like me so I’m honored he’s letting me run his paint scheme.”
Jack Sprague has 29 career wins and 429 races to his credit in NASCAR’s top three touring series dating back to his first start in 1989. In a span of six years, he won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship three times (1997, 1999, and 2001) while finishing 2nd in points twice. His record and place in the sport point toward a hall of fame induction in the coming years.
The future Hall of Famer spoke to Boyd about his career and this throwback, “I had a really good run in NASCAR. I’m not sure I knew that what I was doing would have an impact this many years later, but I’ll take it. Spencer is a good guy and this throwback brings back some of that nostalgia. In looking at Spencer’s career, he is doing it the “old-fashioned way” by working hard for his sponsors and staying out on the track. I wish there were more Spencer’s in our sport.”
Boyd’s major sponsor this year, Credit MRI, known for their bright neon green colors, will be taking on the colors of the Con-Way freight scheme to do their part in NASCAR history. The paint scheme is a throwback to the 2007 No. 60 truck of Wyler Racing that Jack Sprague drove to victory lane in at Daytona International Speedway. An interesting point to note is that the designer, Michael Miceli, of the 2007 Con-Way scheme has also done all of Boyd’s designs since his entry to NASCAR in 2016 so this one has a throwback within a throwback.
With Jack Sprague in attendance, the actual No. 20 Credit MRI throwback Chevrolet Silverado will be unveiled via social media on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Young’ Motorsports.

- Deegan completed Stage 1 in 15th and told the crew she just needed the front to turn better mid-corner and off.
- Deegan started Stage 2 from the 13th spot after receiving service on pit road during the break. On lap 49, the Ford driver reached the top-10.
- The California native ended Stage 2 10th and earned one bonus point. During the break, Deegan relayed to the crew that her F-150 was neutral.

- On lap 102, Deegan made a scheduled green-flag pit stop for fuel, four tires and adjustments to help loosen her truck up just a tick. After the pit sequence was complete, Deegan was 11th with 15 laps to go.
- With seven laps to go the caution was displayed while Deegan was in ninth. Deegan stayed out and restarted eighth for the green-white-checkered. However, another caution shortly after the green-flag sent the race into overtime with Deegan 13th. Deegan ultimately finished 13th.
- Deegan’s 13th-place finish in tonight’s event is her best result of the season and best result at Kansas Speedway.
Tanner Gray, No. 15 Ford Performance F-150

- On the restart, the bottom lane stacked up which caused Gray to fall to 12th on the opening lap. He battled back up to eighth before the final pit stop cycle began and was running sixth on lap 100 when he came down pit road for tires and fuel.
- A speeding penalty forced Gray to bring his F-150 down pit road again for a passthrough and he would rejoin the field in 31st, two laps down. When the caution flag waved on lap 127, he was back up to 19th, one lap down.
- Another quick caution pushed the race to overtime and the No. 15 Ford Performance F-150 would start and finish in 18th.

KYLE BUSCH, No. 51 Cessna Toyota Tundra, Kyle Busch Motorsports
Finishing Position: 1stHow difficult was the final restart with the issues you were feeling in the truck?
“No restarts actually went our way tonight. I was shocked. We definitely missed something, just being able to come up through the gears and get going. It would not go. It’s just slow. Those guys would just swarm us. I think we saw it on one of the restarts with the 4 (John Hunter Nemechek) truck too, he got run over. All in all though great job by KBM (Kyle Busch Motorsports), everybody at Toyota and TRD (Toyota Racing Development), this Cessna Beechcraft Tundra was awesome tonight. It’s so cool to win here in front of Cessna’s hometown. I’m sure there’s some Cessna folks up in the grandstands tonight cheering us on. We’re appreciative of them and Rowdy Energy and everybody that helps us get here. Incredible Bank, I know they’re here on the backstretch tonight. Brexton races tomorrow, so he better bring home a win like I brought home a win. Hopefully he can do it, hopefully we can do it. I just want to say hi to my family back home.”
Can you take us through the final restart for the win?
“All the restarts were hectic for us. Any time we started on the front row, we would always go backwards. It just would not fire on the restarts for whatever reason. We definitely had a really good, strong long run truck. The guys at KBM (Kyle Busch Motorsports), Toyota, TRD (Toyota Racing Development) – this Cessna Beechcraft Tundra was awesome on the long runs. Those restarts were just not for us. We made it work on that last one. The last one, I was fourth in line – got a little bit of a bump from Todd (Gilliland) and got three-wide. I don’t know what else happened after that, but it was just trying to go where they weren’t by that point and get ourselves back up front. I knew when that caution came out, it was definitely not going to be easy. I hated that we saw that caution, but put on a heck of a show for all the fans.”
How much did the track change during this race?
“It changed a ton, oh my gosh. The ARCA rubber that was down early on and us burning that off and then rubbering in the top and then how the whole groove and the whole race track kind of changed. It felt like there was some slick spots out there and some grippy spots out there. Hopefully I can use that to my advantage for tomorrow and figure out how to run good and how to get a good finish here tomorrow and looking forward to my M&M’s Camry.”
What kind of a statement is this for another victory for Kyle Busch Motorsports?
“I saw the 4 (John Hunter Nemechek) truck on my inside on the restart in one and two and I was like, ‘damn, he’s already here.’ I thought he was going to come with us right there at the finish, but I don’t know what happened to those guys. Overall, just a real strong year for us so far at KBM. This is a pleasure year so far. It’s cool to have John Hunter, we really lean on each other a lot. We’re trying to get Chandler (Smith) up there a little more and get him going a little bit better. The restarts for all of our trucks tonight certainly weren’t going to help him out. We’ve got some work to do. We’re still not the best.”
AUSTIN HILL, No. 16 Gunma Toyopet Toyota Tundra, Hattori Racing Enterprises
Finishing Position: 3rdWhat could you have done any different there at the end?
“Man I don’t know, our Gumma Toyopet Toyota Tundra was really good tonight. We still needed to work on it and make it a little better. I thought I did everything right on that restart, thew it on the apron saw (Ross) Chastain go up to block whoever was coming on his outside and got beside him. From then on it was a drag race, I was wide open through the whole green-white-checkered. He held me so tight down in the corner it drug both of us back, I wish he would have side-drafted me and went up and blocked Kyle (Busch) off of four. That way maybe me and him could’ve battled it out for the win, I don’t know. Kyle might have still crossed us over and won the race. It’s a good finish, finishing third like we did today with everythign we had going on. We had engine issues, we had stuff going on. We didn’t completely get it fixed, so restarts I couldn’t get through the gears very well. I had a lot of vibration tonight, but to come home with a solid p-three is good. I want to win so bad, so it’s just really frustrating right now.”
What were you dealing with throughout the race?
“We really didn’t diagnose completely what the issue was, but we had a really good, solid Gunma Toyopet Toyota Tundra all night. Needed to work on it to be able to win the race. After the second stage, it started cutting in and out on me. Just wasn’t running right so we came in, checked all the plugs, checked everything, I reset the main switch and all that. We didn’t find anything and I reset the main switch and went back out. It seemed okay, but it still wasn’t that great getting through the gears. That last restart, I’m glad I got a push from whoever was behind me because it was so sluggish on the restarts and that whole last green-white-checkered, I was wide open. Just wasn’t lifting. I had Ross (Chastain) really tight on my door sucking both of us back. That’s all I had. I wish he would have went up and kind of blocked Kyle (Busch) so we could race each other, but it is what it is. Solid effort to come back and finish where we did. Just stings, I want to win.”
CHRISTIAN ECKES, No. 98 Curb Records Toyota Tundra, ThorSport Racing
Finishing Position: 4thHow important is it for you to get back in the truck and get a top-five finish?
“It’s super important. Today was really an up and down day. Luckily, we recovered really well there at the end. We made a little bit of a gutsy pit call and we really just fought balance all day. We changed a couple things and I felt like we got our balance pretty good and we came down and put two lefts on and the thing was a rocketship there for two laps. I wish we had another caution because maybe we would have had something for Kyle (Busch). Like I said, I just can’t believe how fast the thing was, especially with how much we struggled throughout the day. All of the sudden, it went. Can’t be prouder of my guys at ThorSport. Just really looking forward to CoTA (Circuit of the Americas) next for me.”
Can you describe what the restarts were like?
“Crazy. That last one was really crazy. I think I made contact with the 18 (Chandler Smith). I looked over and there were three cars ahead of me and there was one on the inside of me so I’m pretty sure we were five-wide through the tri-oval. I don’t know how we made it and didn’t crash. Hopefully, that was a fun race for the fans because it was a fun one for us drivers.”
JOHN HUNTER NEMECHEK, No. 4 Mobil 1 Toyota Tundra, Kyle Busch Motorsports
Finishing Position: 5thWhat more did you need to battle with Kyle Busch?
“We were just too loose all night. I couldn’t fire off and didn’t have any short run speed. I figured that I had really good mid-run speed compared to Kyle (Busch) and he definitely had the long run speed. Takeaways, positive day. If a bad day for us is fifth, then we’re doing pretty good. We came down and gambled there with the second-to-last caution. I trusted Eric (Phillips, crew chief). We have two wins so why not gamble and try to go get a third. It almost worked out. If we hadn’t gotten sandwiched on that last restart, I think we would have been in pretty good shape being one of the first guys on tires there. Oh well, solid day here in Kansas. Still the points leader and still moving forward. The Mobil 1 Toyota Tundra was fast, just needed a little bit more.”

Spencer Davis carrying more momentum to Kansas Speedway return
KANSAS CITY, Kan.: On the heels of his season-best finish for Spencer Davis Motorsports two weeks ago at Richmond (Va.) Raceway, Spencer Davis heads to Kansas Speedway looking to continue a strong pace for his family-owned team in Saturday night’s WISE Power 200.
In three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races this season – the SDM team has delivered three top-20 finishes and a season-high 11th place finish on the Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway dirt with Darrell Wallace Jr.
With a solid 16th place finish under their belt in the most recent race at Richmond (Va.) Raceway, Davis is focused on returning to Kansas Speedway and putting his No. 11 Spencer Davis Motorsports Toyota inside the top-10.
“The last month has been very positive for our team,” said Davis. “I can’t thank the guys enough on this Spencer Davis Motorsports team for their commitment and faith into building a strong and competitive team. There’s more work to be done, but I think everyone is happy with our direction.”
Davis, a native of Dawsonville, Ga. will make his third Truck Series start at Kansas and looks to improve on a track-best of 14th earned in the season of a double-header weekend of Truck Series racing last July.
“Having two races in one weekend was a huge challenge for us last year, but it was such a productive weekend, especially being able to overcome the battles we faced during the Friday night race and to bounce back on Saturday afternoon with a top-15 was a victory in itself.
“Kansas is a fun truck where momentum is key and drafting plays a big role. We should have a decent starting position for Saturday night,” added Davis. “It is going to be important for us to keep up with the handling of our No. 11 INOX Supreme Lubricants Toyota and making sure we stay on the lead lap and a chance to capitalize during Stage 3.”
In February, SDM announced that INOX Supreme Lubricants will serve as the team’s primary partner this season.INOX product range was first released in 1989 with the Original INOX MX3 Lubricant. The original MX3 product was in development stages for two years prior to release with testing and focus on creating the right product for the market.
The INOX product range continues to grow with 12 products on the market, each with their own many specialized qualities used in all different industries. All their products are tested and trialed before hitting the market to ensure the best of quality is maintained in the INOX name. INOX products are available at all major industrial, electrical, automotive, hardware, bearing and mining, marine, fishing and tackle outlets, plus many more locations.
A wholly owned Australian company Candan Industries is now exporting to over 25 countries including United States of America, Canada, France, South Africa, New Zealand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
“Excited to have a long-time friendship turn into a season-long partnership with INOX Supreme Lubricants,” said Davis. “It feels great going there with a popular new scheme and an awesome sponsor, can’t thank Angel and James at INOX enough for their continued support and partnership with our small team.
“We use their products day to day on our race team and in our machines at our business. A quality product and amazing people helped bring this all together.”
When asked about the team’s recent momentum, the two-time ARCA Menards Series East winner attributed the vibe around the team to crew chief Danny Gill.
“Danny has been awesome to work with and has done a great job in helping prepare and call some great races for our Spencer Davis Motorsports team,” added Davis.
“The Truck Series is a lot more competitive than it was last year, so you are literally fighting for that next spot, but I think we have showcased over the last month that we have the equipment to battle for strong finishes and that will be our momentum to carry us to Kansas this weekend and Darlington Raceway next weekend.”
Based on metrics utilized to determine the starting lineup, Davis will start his 26th career Truck Series race from the 19th position.
Entering Kansas, Davis, 22, has 25 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts to his credit with a career-best finish of seventh at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in Feb. 2018, with additional top-10s at Texas Motor Speedway (June 2018) and Kentucky Speedway (July 2019).

RACKLEY W.A.R. HONORS BOBBY HAMILTON WITH THROWBACK SCHEME FOR DARLINGTON
Centerville, Tenn. (April 29, 2021)—Rackley W.A.R., co-owned by Willie Allen and Curtis Sutton, pay tribute to Tennessee native Bobby Hamilton with a throwback paint scheme that will appear on the No. 25 Rackley Roofing Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Timothy Peters, in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) LiftKits4Less.com 200 at the Darlington (S.C.) Raceway on May 7.
For the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR, the Tennessee-based team located in Centerville, will honor the 2004 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion. Hamilton, a Nashville, Tenn.-native, became a full-time driver-owner in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2003 with Bobby Hamilton Racing based about 20 miles east of Nashville.
“Our team is honored to run this Bobby Hamilton throwback paint scheme,” Allen said. “He is a NASCAR icon – especially, in the middle Tennessee-area. I looked up to Bobby, big time. He was a hardcore racer that worked hard to be the best. Not only was he a great driver, but he was an industry innovator who was always looking for a way to improve his race car. A lot of the time he found speed in areas that other teams didn’t. He thought outside of the box.
“Our team reminds me a lot of the original Bobby Hamilton Racing team. A small team with a ton of passion.”
The Rackley W.A.R. No. 25 Rackley Roofing Chevrolet Silverado will feature the iconic blue-and-yellow colors of the Bobby Hamilton Racing No. 4 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Hamilton collected a victory on March 14, 2003 at the Darlington Raceway with this paint scheme. It was his second series victory at the Darlington Raceway.
The team sought the approval from Lori Hamilton Rollins for the tribute paint scheme to her late husband Hamilton.
“It is so great that people who were friends with Bobby Sr. would want to honor him,” Rollins, former co-owner of Bobby Hamilton Racing, said. “To know him was to love him. Bobby built his business by treating people like family. We all joke that ‘Bobby Hamilton Racing was not a job; it was a way of life.’ Many people viewed him as a second dad or a brother they never had. He treated people the way he wanted to be treated in return. To honor him with this paint scheme at one of his favorite tracks, Darlington Raceway, is so special.
“The years building his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team into the program it was, took a lot of endless hours from everyone involved. He never liked the spotlight and always pointed it towards his employees. It is a blessing to remember one of the greats and honor him in this way. I know all of his Bobby Hamilton Racing team members would definitely agree.”
Chad Kendrick, crew chief of the No. 25 Rackley Roofing Chevrolet Silverado, worked at Bobby Hamilton Racing, located in Mount Juliet, Tenn., from 2004 to 2007. Kendrick held various titles at Bobby Hamilton Racing including jackman, engine tuner, and underneath mechanic.
“As soon as I heard the team was paying tribute to Bobby Hamilton with this throwback, I got goosebumps,” Kendrick said.
“I have never been on a team that has done a throwback paint scheme. This tribute was on a truck that I was able to physically touch and be around, which is very special. Then, to factor in the man who was like a second father and a mentor, someone that has shaped me so much, that makes it extra special for me.“Bobby Hamilton was a class act, and I miss him every day.”
Peters made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut with Bobby Hamilton Racing on April 9, 2005 at the Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. He has three top-10 finishes in 33 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts with Bobby Hamilton Racing in 2005 and 2006.
