Todd Gilliland, No. 38 Black’s Tire & Auto Service Ford F-150

Todd Gilliland and his No. 38 Black’s Tire & Auto Service Ford F-150 will return to the track next week at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series after a 13-week hiatus. Following a seventh-place finish in their last race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway back on February 21, Gilliland and his Front Row Motorsports (FRM) team hope to pick up where they left off and keep their momentum going.

Gilliland will have a new crew chief starting at Charlotte, Chris Lawson. He was previously the car chief on the team and was Gilliland’s first stock car crew chief back in 2013. The pair won four K&N East races together in 2017 and Lawson was the first employee when David Gilliland started his own team.

Charlotte is a track where Gilliland has two previous starts (2018 and 2019). The 20-year-old driver started both races from third place and collected top-10 finishes in each (10th in 2018 and seventh in 2019). He led seven laps in last year’s race and hopes to add to that on Tuesday night.

The No. 38 Black’s Tire & Auto Service Ford F-150 will compete in the 134-lap N.C. Education Lottery 200 on Tuesday, May 26, at 8:00 p.m., ET. A live broadcast of the race will be shown on FS1. The race will be broken into three segments with stage-ending cautions on lap 30 and lap 60.

    Quick Facts:
Number of Starts at Charlotte: 2
    Best Start: 3rd
    Best Finish: 7th
    2020 Driver Point Standings: 9th

Gilliland on Charlotte: “I am so excited to get back to racing next week. I’ve done a lot of iRacing during the down time. It was fun, but nothing compares to the real thing. I had the chance to run a Late Model race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in South Carolina last weekend, so that gave me a chance to knock the rust off and get back in the seat. I won the pole and finished third, so it was a fun night and it felt great to be back at the track. I’m looking forward to working with Chris (Lawson) and continuing the momentum we had going earlier this year. I’m also happy to have Black’s Tire & Auto Service on our truck again at Charlotte. They were going to bring a large group of people to the track, but obviously that couldn’t happen, so I hope to put on a great race for them watching on television.”

Tanner Gray, No. 15 Ford Performance F-150

The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series is back in action next week after a 13-week hiatus. Tanner Gray and his No. 15 Ford Performance team will head to Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway for the third race of the Truck Series season.

Tuesday’s N.C. Education Lottery 200 will mark the first time that the 21-year-old Truck Series rookie has competed at Charlotte. Although Gray has no experience racing at there, the young driver has shown a knack for mile-and-a-half tracks. In the most recent Truck Series race at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway, Gray earned his first NASCAR national series top 10 after running inside the top five and even contesting for the lead in the latter stages of the race. Gray is making his presence known in his rookie campaign and looks to continue the positive momentum going into Charlotte next week.

Gray’s last race was in the ARCA Menards Series, where he competed at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway on March 6 to help prepare for the Championship race there later this fall. Gray ran inside the top five for most of the race and ended up collecting a fourth-place finish. He also spent time in the Ford Performance simulator, preparing for the upcoming Truck Series races.

The N.C. Education Lottery 200 from Charlotte Motor Speedway will be Tuesday, May 26. The race will go green at 8:00 p.m., ET, with a live broadcast on FS1. The 134-lap race will be broken into three segments with stage-ending cautions on lap 30 and lap 60.

Gray on Charlotte: “I love racing on the mile-and-a-half tracks, so I’m excited to go to Charlotte next week with our Ford Performance team and get back to racing. We had some positive momentum going before the break, and we’re looking to capitalize on that and get another strong finish on Tuesday. It will be challenging going to a track I’ve never raced at without any practice or qualifying, but I’ve been in the Ford simulator and reviewing a lot of film with my spotter to help prepare for the race. It will be awesome to get back on the track and be with my team again. I wish the circumstances were different so the fans could be there, but we plan to put on a good show for them to watch on television.”

With it being our first race back out of quarantine, it’s even bigger. So to finally announce this deal with Spikes Tactical at this time makes me proud of the freedoms we have.”

Spikes Tactical sells complete firearms as well as uppers, lowers, and accessories to customize your firearm exactly how you want it. They are known for offering high quality products at the best possible price to their customers online at www.spikestactical.com or in your local gun store.

“It doesn’t matter if you are simply a gun enthusiast, a competitive 3 gun shooter or a military or law enforcement professional, our rifles will serve you well and won’t let you down when it counts and we guarantee it,” said marketing representative and former 2/75 Army Ranger Sniper, Nick Gough. “Spencer and his NASCAR platform have given us this opportunity to showcase our made in the USA brand to millions.”

Facing only the series’ third race of the season, Boyd is ready to be on a real track in an actual race truck. “Most of us have enjoyed our time on iRacing while safely riding out COVID-19, but I have the need for speed!,” a smirking Boyd said. “We’ve got some new rules and a different landscape, but we are ready for the challenge. I hope we can put on a great show for all the sports fans out there that have patiently waited for live events to return.”

The Spikes Tactical No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado will race for the first time at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26, 2020. The NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race can be seen live on FS1 or heard on the Motor Racing Network or Sirius XM Radio Channel 90 beginning at 7:00pm ET.

Concord, NC (March 25, 2020) – As the racing world waits patiently to return safely to the track, Spencer Boyd has teamed up with RichMar Florist for an amazing on and off track partnership. During these times when most of us could use a pick-me-up, Boyd will be sending virtual flowers upon request.

Countless people in the travel and hospitality industry have been laid off or furloughed. Grocery store workers and suppliers have been working around the clock to keep up with demand. These people and their families need a lot right now so maybe at least I can provide a smile by sending someone some flowers.”

With a collection of photographs from RichMar’s extensive work over the years, Boyd will be taking shout out requests on social media and sending people pictures of tailored floral arrangements. RichMar Florist will also take center stage as a primary sponsor of the No. 20 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado when the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series is ready to return.

“We’ve known Spencer for a while now and love his interaction with the fans,” said Jonathan Morrissey Vice President of RichMar Florist. “We know that social media is flooded with mixed messages right now so spreading some cheer will do us all some good and Spencer is the right guy to help do that. Gilliland on Atlanta: “Overall, I’m excited for Atlanta this weekend. It’s one of the most fun mile-and-a-half race tracks that we go to because it has a very worn out surface. On top of the great racing it produces, there will be a lot of Cup Series drivers racing this weekend, which will help us put on an even better show for the fans. I’m really hoping that we have a good finish on Saturday for everyone working hard at Front Row Motorsports and for our new sponsor Mannington Commercial. The truck looks great, and I want to give them a nice welcome to our team and the Truck Series. We’ve been strong in both races so far this season, just don’t have the finishes to show how well we’ve been running.”
