The guys have worked hard on the speedway truck the past few weeks. We will have a lot of speed in Atlanta, and a cool Mannington paint scheme to go with it.”

  • Toyota Racing NGROTS Las Vegas Quotes – Raphael Lessard

Toyota Racing NGROTS Las Vegas Quotes – Raphael Lessard

    Toyota Racing – Raphael Lessard
NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Quotes

LAS VEGAS (February 21, 2020) – Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Raphael Lessard was made available to media at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

RAPHAEL LESSARD, No. 4 Mobil 1 Toyota Tundra, Joe Gibbs Racing

What have you been able to learn after practice for tonight’s race?

“I know my Mobil 1 Toyota Tundra is pretty fast. It’s just going to be about me completing all the laps and trying to get better and learning something different every single lap to get faster. I feel like my truck is good, we just have to be better. I have a lot to learn. It’s the same way I looked at going to Daytona. I look at coming here the same way, and Daytona went well. Hopefully this weekend goes as good.”

What is it like to work for Kyle Busch?

“It’s a lot of fun. I can ask him advice – call him, text him before every race we go to. I think he likes it when a driver asks him for advice and wants to get better, and that’s what I want to do. We have to perform because we’re in the best equipment and we have a fast truck and we want to perform, but we also want to be realistic and learn. I’m new to all this stuff, so we want to get better and study as much as I can. I study before I get here with the sim at Toyota, they have a great sim we can use. I have done everything I could, now it’s just about me getting used to it during the race. I’m sure we’re going to be able to gain some stage points for the championship.”

How would you rate your Daytona race?

“I think it was better than I expected. The last half of the race, we were in the top-three the whole time. I felt like I learned a lot. The bumps were good, my pushing was good, but it was just at the end it was one of those racing deals where someone side drafted me at the wrong spot off of (turn) four where we get the lightest all race long and it was really hard to keep straight. It’s part of the learning process.”

How was your first time on the track earlier?

“It was a lot of fun. It seems like by yourself, it’s like cruising on the highway. You’re wide open everywhere and it’s a lot of fun. When I got behind people the first time, you kind of see – you think your truck is really good when you’re by yourself but when you get behind people, what’s not good about it will get way worse. I felt like we were a little bit too free, but I think that’s what Kyle (Busch) felt. We went over everything with Kyle after practice and I think we learned a lot. I’m just here to learn and try to complete every lap.”

Are you comfortable heading into tonight’s race?

“I think we can be competitive. Like the first stage at Daytona we fell back and then came back. I learned a lot the first half of the race and then at the end we were really good. I think we’ll see the same way here tonight. We’ll go out there the first part of the race and learn and then the second half, try to apply what we learn. I know with every lap I’m going to learn something new. It’s going to be fun because I’m going to have to get used to mile-and-a-half tracks because we have enough of them on the schedule. Hopefully it’s not too hard on me.”

Are you trying to pace yourself with results?

“Well, we always want to win, but we want to be realistic and just learn. I think with experience, the more experience I get, we’re going to be able to have great results. But also, I’ll take the first half of the season to learn to be able to perform the other half. That’s where it all matters around the end of the year to get in the playoff and have great result.”

Do you think you can get in the playoff?

“I think have a good enough truck to be in it – a good enough Toyota Tundra. It just has to be about me trying to learn and learn fast.”

Codie Rohrbaugh; CR7 Motorsports ready to double down at Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev.: On the heels of a career-best third place NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series finish last Friday night at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, ARCA graduate Codie Rohrbaugh and his CR7 Motorsports team are ready to double down Friday night in the Strat 200 at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway and earn back-to-back top-five finishes to kickoff the 2020 season.
“We almost had it,” said a still jubilant Rohrbaugh. “You know it was a crazy race for us. Our truck was pretty loose, and I spun out of the pack and luckily didn’t hit anything. Had to come to pit road for tires and stuff and lost a lap – but then we just decided to let the race play out and see what we could get.“I was hoping those guys (Jordan Anderson and Grant Enfinger) would keep banging fenders because I had some huge momentum on the bottom – just ran out of time before getting to the checkered flag.”

With a career-best finish in the books and happy faces around the CR7 Motorsports shop in Statesville, N.C. – the team turns to Sin City where it looks to spice up the competition and make a bold statement early in the year.

“We’re here to race and race hard and fair,” added Rohrbaugh. “Right now, we’re not planning on the whole season – but who knows if we keep going in this direction, we just keep going. I’m proud of the work of my crew. From Doug (George, crew chief), Mark (Huff, team manager) and everyone who makes our No. 9 Grant County Mulch Chevrolet go – I appreciate it sincerely.”

Rohrbaugh, a native of Petersburg, West Virginia will make his second Truck Series start at Las Vegas’ 1.5-mile speedway. Last fall, he qualified 27th and finished a respectable 16th.

This weekend Rohrbaugh knows he needs to turn up the wick.

“We barely got into the race last fall, we gotta be better this weekend,” he added. “I think we’ve made great strides in our race team since September and I look forward to the opportunity to turn more laps around Las Vegas and get us in a good position for Friday night’s race.”
Following Las Vegas, CR7 Motorsports plans to return to the Truck Series scene for the Vankor 350 at Texas Motor Speedway on Fri., Mar. 27, 2020.

CR7 Motorsports has 12 NGOTS starts to their credit with a career-best finish of third at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway (February 2020). Additionally, the team owns another top-10 finish at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in October 2019. An 11th place qualifying effort at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway (Oct. 2019) is the team’s best time trials effort to date.

In 20 career ARCA starts, Rohrbaugh has a best finish of seventh twice at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway (July 2018 and Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway (February 2019). He has qualified a career-best fourth on four different occasions most recently at Kansas Speedway (Oct. 2018).

Marketing partnership(s) opportunities are available for the No. 97 Grant County Mulch Chevrolet and No. 9 Grant County Mulch Chevrolet for the 2020 ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series seasons and beyond. Ty Majeski on Racing at Las Vegas: “Our season starts this week at Las Vegas,” said Majeski.  “I can’t thank iRacing enough for their support – it means a lot to me that they’ve supported my racing career like they have.  Phil and Ross had a great run here in the fall, so we have a strong notebook to fall back on.  I’m just ready to get on track and get our season started.”

Majeski at Las Vegas: Friday’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway marks Majeski’s first start at the 1.5-mile track.

On the Truck: The No. 45 Chevrolet will carry the iRacing colors at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday night.

“We couldn’t help but notice Ty years ago, piling up wins and climbing to the highest oval skill rating on iRacing,” said Tony Gardner, iRacing president.  “Not long after that, we got involved supporting his late model program and watched him stack up big wins in the real world as well.  It has been exciting for iRacing to be involved in his career progression, and we’re proud to be part of this next big step with Niece Motorsports.”

Majeski’s No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado will also carry the iRacing colors at Richmond Raceway, Martinsville Speedway and in the season-finale at Phoenix Raceway.
