Christian Rose to Make NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series Debut for AM Racing at Richmond

STATESVILLE, N.C.: Officials from AM Racing confirmed today that Martinsburg, West Virginia native and current full-time ARCA Menards Series driver Christian Rose will attempt his NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series debut in the Worldwide Express 250 for Carrier Appreciation at Richmond (Va.) Raceway on July 29, 2023.

Rose will drive the team’s flagship No. 22 Ford F-150 for the first race of a limited Truck Series schedule this season with his ARCA crew chief Ryan “Pickle” London calling the shots for his NASCAR National Series debut.

“This is an unbelievable moment,” said Rose.

“Everyone at AM Racing has been incredible not only from the ARCA Menards Series side – but assisting in helping this transition to the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series. It really is a dream come true.”

Rose, a former Division 1 baseball player for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore has traded the glove and bat in for a steering wheel and helmet and is chasing the ARCA Menards Series championship aboard AM Racing’s flagship No. 32 Ford Mustang.

Following Charlotte, where Rose contended for the ARCA win, he secured his second top-10 finish of the season and stands a competitive fifth in the championship standings after just five races.

Secure Testing Services LLC. served as the primary marketing partner for Rose’s second ARCA Menards Series start at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway last month will carry the title partnership role for the 16th Truck Series race of the season which also is the headliner as the final event during the regular season.

Secure Testing Services LLC. is a nationwide leader in on-site drug testing located in Richmond, Virginia.

In 2022, STS provided on-site drug and alcohol testing in 42 states and two international countries, through its broad partnerships with most major TPA’s (Third Party Administrators).

“We are incredibly proud to be a part of Christian’s next chapter in his racing career,” offered Steve Pierson, president of Secure Testing Services LLC.

“We have found our partnership with Christian and AM Racing to be extremely beneficial on the ARCA Menards Series platform but look forward to the opportunity to increase our brand awareness on the NASCAR spectrum in our backyard at Richmond and beyond.

“Our nationwide on-site drug testing solution is a cost savings and time saver for organizations, and we look forward to continuing to share the value of our solutions we can provide on this broader scale with a larger audience. We also look forward to our strategic partnership with Labworks USA and look forward to having them share in this experience with us.”

Secure Testing Services LLC. has utilized the Motorsports arena to build relationships and create business-to-business opportunities. That focus will take center stage between Secure Testing Services LLC. and new associate marketing partner Labworks USA.

As a consortium third-party administrator, Labworks USA provides truck drivers and carriers across America with compliance services for a wide range of DOT | FMCSA requirements. Labworks USA assures you are up to date on drug and alcohol compliance so you can focus solely on keeping your trucks rolling and your drivers safe.

“All of us at Labworks USA could not be more excited about our partnership with AM Racing and Christian Rose,” said Labworks USA CEO Walter Ford. “The first time I met Christian, he greeted me with a firm handshake and a look in the eye. Call me old school but this spoke volumes to his integrity and confidence both of which will continue to see him rocket up the ladder in NASCAR.

“He will have plenty of support from me and all of the Labworks USA team members as he makes his NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series debut in Richmond!”

AM Racing president Wade Moore is also equally excited about the progression of AM Racing’s newest development driver and looks forward to a successful weekend.

“We are excited for the next step in his racing career,” offered Moore. “Christian has worked hard not only to become a respected contender in the ARCA Menards Series garage but works even harder behind the scenes to make sure his career will progress under the AM Racing banner for years to come.

“With his ability and hard work, AM Racing believes Christian will go to Richmond with Secure Testing Services LLC. and Labworks USA and succeed in our expectations and prepare himself for other Truck Series races in 2023 and beyond.”

Rose, 27, is counting down the days to Richmond.

“Without a doubt, there will be pressure, but I am used to that,” added Rose. “Even with the pressure, I am incredibly thankful for the hard work of my AM Racing team, along with Secure Testing Services LLC. and Labworks USA for making Richmond possible.

“We have set goals for Richmond and I believe they are achievable.

“Staying focused and racing my competitors with respect is my number one priority. If we can do that, I do not see any reason we cannot deliver a strong and competitive finish.”

    Start: 23rd | Finish: 21st | Points Standings: 24th

Alan On Saturday’s Race at World Wide Technology Raceway: “We battled a really free truck for most of the race and kept making big swings at it throughout the day. We were battling inside the top-15 and top-ten at times today but weren’t able to get the finish we deserved. I’m really proud of these guys and the constant work they put in to make these trucks fast each week.”

Race Recap: Lawless Alan was able to show top-15 speed at times throughout the Toyota 200 at Gateway Saturday afternoon. But in the end, Alan would bring his AUTOParkit Silverado home 21st.

The first two stages were relatively calm for Alan and his No. 45 team as they would position themselves inside the top-20 for most of the event. When a caution flag flew with just a few laps left in the first stage, Wally Rogers would call Alan down pit road for four tires and a wedge adjustment. From there, Alan drove up to 18th by the end of the stage and would be able to stay out on track during the stage break. Additionally, Alan would ride steady in the second stage to finish 21st in the penultimate stage.

Although the final stage produced carnage amongst most of the field, Alan was able to steer clear of incidents until a spin with ten laps to go. When the checkered flag flew, Alan crossed the line in 21st-place.

Carson Hocevar – Toyota 200 Race Recap

Team: No. 42 Worldwide Express Chevrolet Silverado
Driver: Carson Hocevar (Portage, Michigan) | Crew Chief: Phil Gould

    Follow Carson Hocevar: Twitter: @CarsonHocevar | Instagram: @CarsonHocevar | Facebook: /carsonhocevarracing | Web: www.CarsonHocevar.com
    Start: 4th | Finish: 4th | Points Standings: 7th

Hocevar on Saturday’s Race at World Wide Technology Raceway: “This was one of the most exhausting races of the season thus far. From starting up front, to getting in a wreck on lap one, to finishing in the top-five, this one was wild for our No. 42 Worldwide Express team. This was a very fast truck, and it shows by this finish with all the damage to the door. That’s a testament to how hard these Niece Motorsports guys work and I hope we can keep this momentum up in Nashville after the break.”

Race Recap: Coming into this weekend’s race at World Wide Technology Raceway, Carson Hocevar has been arguably the hottest driver in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. When the checkered flag flew on the Toyota 200, that statement still rings true after his fourth straight top-five finish. Although, Hocevar’s weekend wasn’t as smooth as the No. 42 team would’ve liked.

While Hocevar put his Worldwide Express Chevrolet Silverado fourth in Friday’s qualifying session, he was forced to start in the rear due to a fuel pressure issue. But, Hocevar’s problems continued on lap one as a spinning truck would tag the side of his Silverado and create substantial damage. Despite the damage causing the 42 to visit the pits more than a handful of times, he was able to rally for ninth-place stage points in Stage One.

Stage Two contained more of the same for Hocevar as crew chief, Phil Gould, would bring him down pit road multiple times to repair the damage to his truck. The Michigan-born driver would wind up finishing 30th in the second stage.

In a caution-filled final stage, Hocevar was able to make continuous gains to position himself in the top-five after a two-tire call with 54 laps to go. But in the end, and a NASCAR Overtime finish, the driver of the No. 42 would finish in fourth-place and advance to eighth in the driver’s championship standings.

    Start: 11th | Finish: 16th | Owner’s Points Standings: 16th

Currey On Saturday’s Race at World Wide Technology Raceway: “I feel like I learned a lot this weekend. It was my first time racing at Gateway so I had a few mistakes, but ran inside the top-15 for most of the race and finished just outside. Overall, I’m just very fortunate to drive these fast trucks with the support of Unishippers and WWEX Racing and I’m looking forward to the next one.”

Race Recap: A fifth-place run in Friday’s practice session had Bayley Currey feeling confident about his chances in Gateway. He then backed up his quick time in practice with a starting position just outside the top-ten.

Much like the trend a week ago in Charlotte, the first two stages went smooth for Currey and the No. 41 team. The Texan ran top-15 for most of the race, collecting a 16th-place finish at the end of Stage One. At the conclusion of the stage, Currey was able to stay out on track and gain track position after coming to pit road just a few laps before the stage ended. When the race restarted, Currey fell back to 17th and would finish the stage in 19th as the trucks with fresh tires would make their way through the field.

In the final stage of the race, the Texas-driver drove inside the top-ten before falling back later in the run. In the midst of a long-run in the third stage, Mike Hillman Jr. would bring the No. 41 down pit road for four tires and fuel as gas became a concern on pit road. Unfortunately, Currey caught an untimely caution which put him stuck a lap down until the next yellow when he was awarded the free pass.

When it was over, Bayley Currey would cross the line in 16th while the No. 41 fell to 14th in the owner’s championship standings.

Grant Enfinger, No. 23 Champion Power Equipment Chevrolet Silverado RST

    START: 10TH

    FINISH: 1ST

    POINTS: 3RD

Post-Race Quote: Grant, you get the win and you get an extra $50,000; that’s gotta be awesome!

“I forgot about that Regan! It’s just so hard to win these races, and if it’s about money, we would have quit a long time ago. But thank you to CRAFTSMAN for that, thank you so much to Champion Power Equipment, Maury Gallagher, Mike Beam, Ron Booth, Jeff Hensley, those guys behind that pit wall right there. Big Jim has been with me forever. Thank you to everybody for keepin’ on believing in us. It’s been a rocky year, but these last five races I feel like we’ve come to our own. We’ve had speed; I was a little disappointed yesterday – I felt like I nailed my lap and we were 10th. I looked at the lap tracker and I felt like we were 10th and that we weren’t a contending truck. But Jeff Hensley made the right calls.

I mean overall, it was just a great day and the stars aligned. I don’t know if we were just on the limit right there on the end, but I think Ty just did what I did last year to Zane. I think Tic Tac (Chris Lawson, Crew Chief No. 38) made the winning call there, and I just got loose underneath of them. It’s just so hard to make those moves here but I’m just so proud of these guys. I’m proud of Champion Power Equipment. It’s just as good a time as any to announce that we are expecting another baby, so Michelle, I’ll be home tonight to see her. Life is good!”

Rajah Caruth, No. 24 Born Driven Chevrolet Silverado RST

    START: 35TH

    FINISH: 15TH

    POINTS: 16TH

Post-Race Quote: “We had a pretty eventful day with our Born Driven Chevrolet. Definitely not there is only one man. My GMS Racing teammates all running really well today. Getting damage from lap one, to somebody missing a shift in front of me, self inflicting damage later on in the race. Just kind of being a parachute with the nose damage. We never gave up, and I am really proud of my Wendell Scott Foundation group. They did such a great job and we had to go through a lot this weekend and last night and starting dead last. Really proud of my team and hopefully we will get some rest with these two weeks off and get back going and head into the summer with some good results for Maury Gallagher, Mike Beam, Ron Booth, and the men and women on my No. 24 team, everybody at GMS Fabrication, Chevrolet, General Motors, Butler Built, Alpinestars, Bell Racing, Competition Cleaning and ShadyRays.”

    START: 17TH

    FINISH: 11TH

    POINTS: 18TH

Post-Race Quote: “Yeah, we had a really fast GMS Racing Silverado today at Gateway, and was super cool to run up front and be a contender. Unfortunately, a mistake on pit road kinda cost us a shot at a better finish. I can’t thank LiftedTrucksForSale.com enough for coming onboard along with all our other partners. I also have to say congratulations to Grant Enfinger and the No. 23 team, that’s awesome for the organization to get its second win this year!”

    32nd – Hailie Deegan

    33rd – Conner Jones

BEN RHODES, No. 99 Bommarito Ford F-150 (Finished 7th) – “We certainly entered this with a lot of momentum, and we were certainly expecting a better run today. It started out great, but as people started flipping the stages because the cautions came out at the wrong times, it produced a lot of excitement like they are intended to do. Unfortunately, as people flip the stages, we lose track position. As we try to come through the field, it just turns into carnage. The truck was clean, all the way up to the very end. [Carson] Hocevar just ran us right into the wall, and that’s what he does. Kind of frustrating to finish seventh with such a good truck and having to fight like we did. All-in-all, I’m glad Bommarito Automotive Group was able to have a good showing with us. I wish we could have got it to victory lane at their home track. One thing we have to go back and work on is our voltage and how we manage temperature better. We ended up losing a lot of horsepower at the end, and that hindered us from making a proper run to the front.”

ZANE SMITH, No. 38 ARRMA RC Ford F-150 (Finished 20th) – WHAT HAPPENED AT THE END? “Well, we got wrecked… unfortunately by another Ford. It was a really good truck and unfortunately, it was taken from us.”

YOU WERE LEADING THE RACE. DOES THAT MAKE IT ANY MORE DISAPPOINTING? “Yes.”

ARE YOU AND TY MAJESKI GOING TO TALK IT OUT? “Yeah. I went to go find him to see if he got hit or something. I didn’t know what his plan was there. I saw an interview earlier where at this track he has more experience here than any others. He still races like it’s his first time here. We see time and time again that the guy on the bottom has to be a little conservative, and that’s why the leaders always choose the top. Maybe he’ll learn next time.”

YOU SEEM HEARTBROKEN. “Yeah, it’s just a bummer. I mean, I kind of did it to myself staying in this series. It is pretty unbelievable how scary some of these guys are. We’ve just had, now, four bad weeks – some self-inflicted, but our day obviously snowballed once we get around some of these guys. It’s just frustrating.”

TY MAJESKI, No. 98 Road Ranger Ford F-150 (Finished 30th) – “Restarts were my struggle all day. Low air pressures and we had the splitter bent, got into Turn 3 obviously trying to get ahead of the No. 38, hit the splitter, had to check up, and went up the racetrack. Obviously when you go up the racetrack, his side took the air from mine, and I went around and wrecked us both. Inexcusable. I misjudged it. Trying to win the race and obviously wrecked two really good Ford F-150s. I’m disappointed in myself. Got to execute when you have the fastest truck by a mile like that. Just inexcusable. Got to be better.”

    TOYOTA QUOTES

STEWART FRIESEN, No. 52 Ferris Commercial Mowers Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, Halmar Friesen Racing

    Finishing Position: 3rd

    How was your race?

“We had a really good Ferris/Halmar Tundra TRD Pro. Good on the long run. Our short run speed wasn’t great. I felt like the 98 (Ty Majeski) was probably the best, but the longer we go, we get slipping and sliding and moving around – and then we never got that long run in the end. Hats off to the team in stall 32. My guys did a heck of a job creating calls and getting us track position when we did it. I was kind upset with them after the first stop, because we pitted early and I said, we should have stayed out and won the stage, but it kept us in the hunt to win the second stage. We got an opportunity to do that, and it kept us with the lead pack all race. Just a great job. I’m so proud of this team. Thanks to Chris Larsen and all of our fans.”

How was your truck over the course of this day?

“Conditions were hot, but we got really racy there at the end. We had a really good long Ferris Tundra TRD Pro. Big thanks to everyone at Ferris, everyone at Halmar. It’s grass cutting season in the Northeast, so go find your local Ferris dealer and check them out.”

JESSE LOVE, No. 11 Safelite Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, TRICON Garage

    Finishing Position: 9th

Top-10 finish in your debut. What did you learn throughout the day?

“It was tough to get track position. I thought we were always faster than the guys in front of us. It was just hard to get up there. Obviously, once you get in the top-five, then yeah, it’s not quite as easy to catch the guys in front of you. I got outraced a little bit today in a lot of different aspects, but my crew chief (Scott Zipadelli) did a great call. We were definitely on old tires at the end and at a big deficit for that. I just had to get up on the wheel and try to not lose any spots. I was pretty happy with it. My goal was to run top-eight. I thought that would signify a pretty good day, and I think running ninth after being on really old tires at the end, I was happy with. There was times we were battling for third and that is all that I can ask for. Definitely a lot to learn on my end, but I love the challenge. We’ve been on such a roll here lately, that a little bit of a reality check don’t hurt that bad. I’m fine with that. I’ve learned a lot, and I just want to thank Safelite, Toyota Racing and TRICON. I’m hoping that Corey (Heim) feels better soon.”

    2023 NASCAR Truck Series Stats
Starts: 11; Best start: 10th; Best finish: 13th (Kansas I); Laps led: 5; Current points position: 19th

    Chassis History
Dye and the No. 43 team will compete with GMS Racing chassis no. 330 in St. Louis. Although this truck hasn’t been raced at Gateway before, it has been driven to one win before with Zane Smith at Dover Motor Speedway. Daniel has competed with this chassis twice this season at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where he finished 16th, and later at Texas Motor Speedway, where he finished 25th.

    Rookie of the Year
Daniel’s 19th place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway was the fifth-highest finish of the drivers that make up the current rookie class. In the Sunoco Rookie of the Year points standings, Dye runs fourth, 89 points behind leading candidate Nick Sanchez and 19 points behind his teammate, Rajah Caruth, in third.

    Daniel Dye Quote

You’ve never raced at Gateway before, but are there any tracks that you have raced at before that seem similar?

“I’m looking forward to getting to a new track that’s similar to some of the tracks that I’ve been to before. I like to think that Gateway is pretty similar to Milwaukee, which I’ve raced at a couple of times in the ARCA Menards Series for GMS Racing. It’s going to be good to get to a track that has a little bit of a short track feel, but where still aerodynamics are still important. I’m happy to get our No. 43 LiftedTrucksForSale.com Chevrolet out onto the racetrack for our first race with them as a partner of ours!”

This chassis has one win in 10 starts, which came in last year’s visit to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. • The Trip Rolls On: St. Louis will host the second leg of the 2023 running of the prestigious NASCAR Triple Truck Challenge. Since the program’s inception in 2019, GMS Racing drivers have delivered the most wins of any organization with victories from Brett Moffitt (Iowa, 2019), Sheldon Creed (Daytona, 2020; Gateway, 2020; Darlington, 2021), and Zane Smith (Dover, 2020). This year, the three tracks on the schedule for “The Trip” include Charlotte Motor Speedway, World Wide Technology Raceway, and Nashville Superspeedway.
    • FearTheFinger Playoffs Profile: There are only five races remaining in the regular season for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, and Grant Enfinger is continuing to place an emphasis on consistency. Grant’s win at Kansas effectively has locked him into the post-season fight, and he currently has five playoffs points in his tally. A fifth place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway kept him scored fourth in the drivers’ points standings, and he is now only 20 points behind Zane Smith in third and 63 markers behind from overall leader, Corey Heim.
    • GE Appearances: Fans attending the race will have an opportunity to meet Grant Enfinger on race day at WWT Raceway:

Saturday, June 3rd | NCTS Autograph Session: All three GMS Racing drivers will head to the Infield Tent in the Enterprise Fan Zone to sign autographs from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM local time. Be sure to get there early and meet some of your favorite drivers!
    - From The Drivers Seat: What are your thoughts on returning to World Wide Technology Raceway given your strong runs there in the past?

“I enjoy running at WWT Raceway because it’s a little different style track. It has some intermediate and some short track tendencies. Heading into the last half of the season, the No. 23 team is more determined than ever to be a contender for more wins this year. The team has been putting in the work, and I feel our organization has shown more speed through the last four races. I am confident that we will return to WWTR strong, and will continue to push ourselves to get back to victory lane.”

    • RC Appearances: Fans attending the race will have an opportunity to meet Rajah Caruth on race day at WWT Raceway:

Friday, June 2nd – Sunday, June 4th | Show Truck Appearance: Rajah’s No. 24 Wendell Scott Foundation Chevrolet show truck will be present all weekend in the World Wide Technology Raceway fan zone, where attendees can have their photos taken with it!

    • From The Driver’s Seat: Rajah’s thoughts on this weekend in Gateway:

“I feel really good about heading back to World Wide Technology Raceway this weekend. This is the track that I made my NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series debut at last year, and ran inside the top-10 for a good portion of the day. We had a speeding penalty and some other stuff happen, but my team and I were still able to rebound for an 11th-place finish that day. I feel really good to go back to a place that I’ve raced at in a truck before. Additionally to have the support of the Wendell Scott Foundation and promote their new book, Born Driven, on our truck this weekend is really a blessing especially with having the Scott Family there. We are in the back yard of the Steward family, and I have been very appreciative of all they have done for my career as well.

I feel extremely confident about our chances to run well throughout the weekend in practice, qualifying, and the race. We continue to look at building upon our momentum with a good result for Maury Gallagher, Mike Beam, Ron Booth, Chevrolet, our body hangers, everybody at GMS Fabrication, Butlerbuilt Seats, Alpinestars, and Competition Cleaning. I’m very excited.”
