    TOYOTA QUOTES

BEN RHODES, No. 99 Dan-O’s Seasoning Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, ThorSport Racing

    Finishing Position: 2nd

How did you get back up to second?
“I don’t really know. We drove through the whole field tonight multiple times. I really hate that we had that penalty. I still don’t know what happened. I felt like I was holding my speed correctly. There are some really big bumps at the start finish line, which is the section that we got the penalty in – so I ‘m thinking maybe the bumps got me going faster that I thought I did or that the light showed, but we came up through the field multiple times and circumstances kind of worked out in Grant’s (Enfinger) favor those last two restarts. He certainly had a truck to win, but I think our Dan-O’s Toyota Tundra was a lot faster than his truck. It’s a shame because I wanted to win the TSPORT 200 for my race team. This is their big event, and I just couldn’t get it done. I just need a few more laps and I know we could have got this Toyota Tundra into victory lane.”

STEWART FRIESEN, No. 52 Halmar International Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, Halmar Friesen Racing

    Finishing Position: 4th

Ran up front all night and started the Playoffs with a good finish. How was your race?

“We made some big gains. We weren’t very good in practice. We put our heads together the 52 and 62 (Layne Riggs) teams and took some swings at it for time trials and were really good. I felt like we were almost good enough to win. We didn’t have a very good long run, but proud of our Halmar team. Proud of everybody at TRD. It’s great to start the Playoffs with a top-five. With that green-white-checkered deal and we pitted, I was like oh, man, this stinks, but we got back to where we were running pretty much, maybe plus one. It worked out for us. Proud of all of our guys. This is the best short track truck that we’ve ever had. I’m proud of these guys.”

LAYNE RIGGS, No. 62 Puryear Tank Lines Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, Halmar Friesen Racing

    Finishing Position: 7th

Top-10 finish in your Truck Series debut. Congrats! How was your first Truck race?

“I’m just so thankful for Puryear Tank Lines, Infinity Communications, Halmar Racing. They gave me this opportunity to run this one-off race and I couldn’t be prouder. Today in qualifying, I hung it out trying to be a dirt racer. It bit me and I was down in the dumps about it. I was upset. I felt like I was out of the race. I got there on the start and then got messed up on pit road and lost a lap. I thought we were really over but did everything perfect after that. I made all of the track position that I could. I did all I could on pit road and made smart moves and got all of the way back up to seventh. It feels like a win to me in my first ever race. If you would have told me three hours ago, I would have finished seventh, I would have given you a hug.”

TY MAJESKI, No. 66 Road Ranger Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, ThorSport Racing

    Finishing Position: 8th

Stellar race, but not the result that you wanted. Can you talk about the finish from your perspective?

“Fired off struggling. Joe (Shear, Jr., crew chief) made a great change on that first stop. We gave up some track position on the pit stop to do it, and the thing just came alive. Really good truck, really good pit stop, that second stop. Won that stage. I was really just riding. I had a really, really good truck. I must have run something over. We had a right rear going down on that long run when Grant (Enfinger) got by me. Overall, really good Road Ranger Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. Had a chance to win, leading with 10 to go. That’s really all you can ask for. Obviously the yellow, well it probably saved us because we had a flat tire, but it mixes up the strategy and it just didn’t go our way.”

JOHN HUNTER NEMECHEK, No. 4 Yahoo Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, Kyle Busch Motorsports

    Finishing Position: 10th

What were those conversations you were having with the 17 (Taylor Gray) team?

“Those were private, but it is what it is. I had a really fast Yahoo Toyota Tundra TRD Pro tonight. Sometimes you are the bug and sometimes you are the windshield. We were the bug tonight. I made a mistake early on and spun myself. Then, we had a restart there at the end on older tires -everyone had fresher tires – I tried driving down the bottom of (turn) three underneath the 17 (Taylor Gray) and it just kept sliding. I accidently got into his left rear – tried to stay off of him. That team has their opinion, I have my opinion. I’m sure we will talk at some point. The final restart I had a really good jump. I thought we were going to have a shot there and then we got run in the fence by the 38 (Zane Smith). That’s a couple of times that he has ran me in the fence. I’m taking notes. Solid points day for us. I don’t know where that puts us above the cut line, but we’ve got some really good tracks coming up for us. Proud of everyone at KBM (Kyle Busch Motorsports). Thank you to Yahoo, Toyota, TRD, everyone that gives me this opportunity. Let’s go win a championship.”

Race Advance – TSport 200 (200 Laps/137 Miles) | Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park

    Friday, July 29 | Indianapolis, Ind. | 9 p.m. ET

TV: FS1 | Radio: Motor Racing Network (MRN), Sirius XM Ch. 90

Driver: Carson Hocevar (Portage, Mich.) | Crew Chief: Phil Gould

    Follow the Team: @NieceMotorsport; @CarsonHocevar

Hocevar on opening the Round of 10 at Lucas Oil Raceway: “To be able to hit the reset button going into the Playoffs is huge for our No. 42 Premier Security Solutions team. I look back at the three or four races that kind of got away from us that would have positioned us higher in the regular season standings, but now we can focus on keeping the momentum rolling from the recent stretch of top-five runs we’ve had.”

“I’m excited to start the Playoffs schedule at Lucas Oil Raceway. It’s a really fun race track but I think it’s going to be difficult to pass in the trucks. It’s going to be a very aggressive race – especially with a lot on the line – so we’ll need to take advantage of the opportunities when they present themselves.”

Hocevar at Lucas Oil Raceway: Hocevar makes his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start Friday night at Lucas Oil Raceway. He has two previous ARCA Menards Series starts at the Indianapolis short track, both resulting in top-10 finishes.

Hocevar ran to a fifth-place finish in the October 2018 event before turning in a ninth-place finish in October 2019.

On the Truck: Hocevar will pilot the No. 42 Premier Security Solutions Chevrolet Silverado to open the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs Friday night in Indianapolis.

Last Time Out – CRC Brakleen 150 at Pocono (Start 3rd / Finish 5th): “It’s tough to win these races. We suffered from a little bit of damage to the right rear that hurt our straightaway speed. Our setup was something that we haven’t typically done at these kinds of race tracks to get us ready for the playoff run. We’re committed – all in or all out – and that’s how we’ve been all year. We’re right there, it seems like, with consistent top-five finishes. Our focus is to take it one race at a time and try not to lose anything, but rather take every advantage we can to gain points and set ourselves up for wins. The ability to consistently put together strong runs at different types of tracks lately is a testament to the efforts of Niece Motorsports, Worldwide Express, and Premier Security Solutions.”

    • Chassis History/Info: Enfinger and the No. 23 team will compete with GMS Racing chassis no. 329 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. This Chevrolet was built in 2020, and has raced at a few different types of tracks, including intermediates and flat tracks. This season, Enfinger has raced with this chassis twice, posting an eighth place finish at Martinsville, and most recently finishing 11th at Texas.
    • IRP Notebook: It’s been a few years since Grant Enfinger last visited Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, but he was no slouch in the races he ran. The veteran competed in four ARCA Menards Series starts at IRP from 2011-2015, and posted top-10 finishes in all but one of those races. A short track racer by trade, Enfinger has had this race highlighted on his calendar since the day the race was announced. Grant looks to use this experience to his benefit, as he is one of only a handful of NCWTS drivers that have previously raced at the facility.
    • FearTheFinger Playoffs Profile: Grant Enfinger will have the chance to race for a championship after successfully qualifying for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs for the fourth time in his career. Having previously qualified for the playoffs in 2018, 2019 (where he won the regular season championship), and 2020, the veteran knows what it takes to contend for the title during the final seven races of the year. So far in the 2022 campaign, the driver of the No. 23 Champion Power Equipment Chevrolet has earned three top-fives and seven top-10 finishes, in addition to leading 30 laps. Entering the first race of the postseason, Enfinger is seeded ninth in the standings, three points below the cutline for the Round of 8. Key finishes in the next three events at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Richmond Raceway, and Kansas Speedway will be at the top of his priority list as he looks to advance further along in the championship hunt. - GE Quote: “Finally, we’ve made it to the start of the playoffs. Our regular season really didn’t go to plan for us on the No. 23 team, but the playoffs give us a great opportunity to completely flip our season. I’m looking forward to getting the Round of 10 started by visiting two short tracks back to back. Personally, I feel like the trucks should have never left racing at IRP, so I’m excited to get back there. Tire wear is going to be huge, so that’s going to give us an opportunity to have some comers and goers. I love racing at tracks that have a lot of fall off, where we’re able to fight for grip, so hopefully that will play to our advantage on Friday night.”

    • JW Quote: “I’m looking forward to racing at IRP for the first time and focusing on the short tracks for the next few weeks. The past three races have definitely been a struggle with our No. 24 team that we did not see coming, but there’s not another group that I would rather have behind my back than the guys that I have on our team. It’s a bummer that we weren’t able to make the playoffs this year, but having the support of everyone at Chevrolet and GMS Racing has been great, and we still have a handful of races left to run this year to end the season on a high note. I want to congratulate Grant and the No. 23 team for making the playoffs; I know they are going to go out there and put up a great fight for the organization. Our number one goal for the rest of the season is to go out there and put together the best seven races that we possibly can, and that all starts with this weekend in Indy.”

Corey Heim: Driver, No. 51 Crescent Tools Toyota

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Overview:
Event: TSport 200 presented by Crescent Tools
    Race 17 of 23, 200 Laps – 60/60/80; 137.2 Miles
Location: Lucas Oil Indianapolis (Ind.) Raceway Park (IRP) (0.686-mile oval)
    Date/Broadcast: July 29, 2022, at 9 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR 90

    The Story on Corey:

Corey Heim and the No. 51 team head to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park for Friday night’s TSport 200 presented by Crescent Tools. Crescent Tools, a premier hand tool brand from Apex Tool Group, will serve as a primary sponsor on Heim’s Tundra TRD Pro for four of the final seven races this season, beginning with the opening race of the owner’s playoffs Friday night. The No. 51 team qualified for the owner’s portion of the playoffs via Heim’s two wins this season (Atlanta Motor Speedway and World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway). After the reseed for the playoffs, the No. 51 team enters fifth on the playoff grid with 2013 points, seven markers above the cutoff line for advancing the Round of 8.

The No. 51 team has captured the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series owner’s championship three times (2013-2014 & 2019) and as on organization KBM has collected a series-record seven owner’s titles.

While many drivers in the Truck Series don’t have any experience at IRP, since the series is visiting the Indiana track for the first time since 2011, Heim has made one start there in the ARCA Menards Series. He started second and finished fourth in the 2019 event at the 0.686-mile oval.

Across nine Truck Series starts this season, Heim has produced two wins, two poles, 64 laps led, three top-five and four top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 17.8. The Georgia native picked up his first career Truck Series victory in just his fifth start earlier this season at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway in March and was also victorious in June at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. He’s one of just three drivers to earn multiple pole awards this season. John Hunter Nemechek leads the series with four, while Ty Majeski also has two.

With two victories across his first 10 Truck Series starts, the 19-year-old driver became one of just 12 drivers in series history to net multiple victories in their first 10 starts. Kasey Kahne and Mike Skinner each produced five victories, Mark Martin collected four wins, Ron Hornaday Jr., Ted Musgrave and William Byron brought home three checkered flags and Heim, Kyle Busch, Erik Jones, Rich Bickle, Clint Bowyer and Tony Stewart all delivered two wins.

Heim is competing for the 2022 Truck Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year award. Despite only having competed in nine of the 16 events so far this season, he leads the standings by 24 points over Lawless Alan. Heim will look to join three other KBM drivers that have won the award, reigning winner Chandler Smith, William Byron (2016) and Erik Jones (2015).

In addition to his part-time Truck Series schedule Heim is competing in a six-race schedule for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Menards Series. Heim led 74 of 90 laps en route to the victory at Daytona in February to pick up his eighth career ARCA Menards Series victory. Across 40 career ARCA Menards Series starts he has produced 659 laps led, 29 top-five and 38 top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 4.4. Heim finished second to Ty Gibbs in the 2021 ARCA Menards Series championship standings.

Mardy Lindley returned to KBM for his second season atop the pit box of the No. 51 team. Lindley has led his team to six wins since coming to KBM at the start of the 2021 season, including two with Heim and one with Kyle Busch this year. In 2021, his drivers produced three victories, two with Busch and one with Martin Truex Jr. Before arriving at KBM, Lindley guided his drivers to 32 wins and four ARCA Menards Series East championships since 2013, including back-to-back titles with Sam Mayer the last two seasons. Additionally, he earned the ARCA Menards Series Sioux Chief Showdown championship with Mayer in 2020. Behind the wheel, the second-generation driver won 11 races on the Pro Cup Series from 2000 to 2006 and was crowned the series champion in 2001. Lindley has crew chiefed two ARCA Menards Series races at IRP, recoding an average finish of 2.5 with Mayer. He has been to victory lane at IRP as a driver, leading 31 laps en route to victory in the 2004 Hooters Pro Cup race at the 0.686-mile oval.

JBL, the authority in engineering superior sound, will be back on the No. 51 as part of their 11-race schedule with Heim when the series returns to action Aug. 13 at Richmond (Va.) Raceway.

    Corey Heim, Driver Q&A:
You’ve been able to go out and have a strategy to race for wins this year. Will being in the owner’s playoffs do you have to change your mindset and race for points now?
“I definitely want to put the No. 51 team in a good position to win this owner’s championship. With that being said, points racing is definitely my priority, but it doesn’t change the goal to win races week in and out.”

You’ve raced at IRP in the ARCA Menards Series. How do you think the Truck Series race will be there?
“I think IRP is a great racetrack. The groove should move around, and a full field will make the race very entertaining for the fans. I’m excited to see what kind of racing it produces.”

You’ve taken Crescent Tolls to victory lane already this year in the ARCA Menards Series. What would it mean to also be able to get them to victory lane in the Truck Series?
“I’m super excited to pilot my Crescent Tundra TRD Pro this weekend. It’s been a pleasure to have them on board in ARCA and I’m excited to be a part of their debut in a NASCAR national series race.”

    Corey Heim Career Highlights:

    • Picked up first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway March 19, 2022 in just his fifth start. Across 12 career starts has two wins, two poles, 66 laps led, three top-five and four top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 17.7.
    • Made three Truck Series starts in 2021 with a best result of 11th coming at Martinsville Speedway in October.
    • Finished runner-up in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings in 2021 after collecting six wins, three poles, 406 laps led, 16 top-five and 20 top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 3.1 across 20 starts.
    • Across 40 career ARCA Menards Series starts has eight wins, 659 laps led, 29 top-five and 38 top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 4.4. Picked up his first career ARCA Menards Series victory at Kansas Speedway Oct. 16, 2020.

Corey Heim’s No. 51 Crescent Tools Tundra TRD Pro:

The No. 51 Crescent Tools team will unload KBM-62 for Friday night’s race at IRP. This Toyota has one start in 2022, a third-place finish with KBM owner-driver Kyle Busch at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in April. KBM-62’s best result across 10 starts was a runner-up finish with Busch at Richmond (Va.) Raceway in 2021.

    KBM Notes of Interest:

    • KBM drivers have one top-five and one top-10 finish across two Truck Series starts at IRP resulting in an average finish of 12.0. Owner-driver Kyle Busch’s runner-up finish in 2010 was the organization’s best result.
    • KBM holds the Camping World Truck Series records for most career wins (96) and most wins in a single season (14 in 2014). With his victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway Heim became the 18th different driver to win a Truck Series event for KBM. In addition to collecting a series-record seven Owner’s Championships, the organization has produced two championship-winning drivers: Erik Jones (2015) and Christopher Bell (2017).
    • With 40 victories, the No. 51 is the winningest number in KBM’s Truck Series fleet.

    Neme’chek’ the Facts:

John Hunter Nemechek and the No. 4 Yahoo! team head into the first race in the Round of 10 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series playoffs at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park as the four seed in the three round, elimination-style format. The 25-year-old driver accumulated eight playoff points throughout the regular season by picking up a win at Darlington in May and tallying three stage wins. He enters Friday’s race at Indianapolis Raceway Park 14 points above the cutoff line for advancing to the Round of 8.

During the 16-race regular season, Nemechek produced one win, four poles, seven top-five and 11 top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish 11.4. The second-generation driver leads Truck Series regulars in poles and average starting position (7.1), second in driver rating (102.4), third in laps led (171), and fourth in average running position (9.454).

The Toyota Racing Driver will be competing in the Camping World Truck Series playoffs for the fourth time in his career. He finished third in 2021 after making the Championship 4 at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway after finishing eighth in the standings for his family-owned team, NEMCO Motorsports, in 2016 and 2017.

While he has not competed in a Truck Series event at the IRP, Nemechek has competed at the 0.686-mile oval in both Pro and Super Late Model events. Nemechek went toe-to-toe with Kyle Busch in the 2014 ARCA/CRA Super Late Model race, which saw Busch make a last lap pass for the lead to edge out Nemechek by a mere 0.024 seconds. In 2015, Nemechek earned the pole and led 46 of 100 laps on his way to his first ARCA/CRA Super Late Model victory at the Indiana track.

Global media and tech company, Yahoo!, will adorn the hood of the No. 4 Tundra TRD Pro this Friday at Lucas Oil Raceway. Yahoo! has made two starts this season with KBM, one with owner-driver Kyle Busch when he drove the No. 51 to victory at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway in June and one with Nemechek last week when he piloted the No. 4 Yahoo! Tundra to a third-place finish at Pocono Raceway.

Nemechek is a 12-time winner in Camping World Truck Series action, winning at least one race each season from 2015 to 2018 for his family-owned team, NEMCO Motorsports, and returning to victory lane in 2021 and 2022 with KBM. Across 140 career starts in NASCAR’s third division, he has compiled six poles, 1,369 laps led, 47 top-five and 77 top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 12.4.

Eric Phillips returned to lead the No. 4 team in 2022. His 42 career Truck Series victories make him the winningest crew chief in Truck Series history, with 33 of those coming while at KBM including five last year. Phillips led the No. 18 team at KBM in its debut season in 2010 and helped build the organization into one of the premier teams in all of NASCAR before departing at the end of the 2014 season. Under his guidance, the No. 18 team won eight races in its inaugural campaign and became the Series history to capture an owner’s championship in its first season of competition. In 2014, the Illinois native led the first team in Truck No. 51 team to an owner’s championship and his team’s 10 wins spearheaded KBM to a single-season Truck Series record of 14 wins. Phillips has been atop the box for seven Camping World Truck Series starts at Lucas Oil Raceway. In those seven starts, his drivers have recorded one win (Dennis Setzer – 2005), 256 laps led, four top-five and four top-10 finishes with an average finish of 8.3.

    John Hunter Nemechek, Driver Q&A:
John Hunter Nemechek | Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Preview
How do you think the Truck Series race will be at IRP this weekend?
“I feel like it should be a good race. It will be interesting to see what teams hit it right off the truck and what teams have to work hard this weekend. Hopefully, we’re one of the teams that hits it right off the truck and have a fast Yahoo! Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. I’m looking forward to going to IRP, one of my favorite places to go race Super Late Models and Pro Late Models so hopefully some of that experience will pay off and transfer over into the truck this weekend and go get the first win in the playoffs and keep on rolling the momentum that we have.”

Do you think you can attack the playoffs differently this year and be more on the offensive than defensive?
“Yeah, for sure. Being the fourth seed, obviously you want to be number one, but I feel like we don’t have as many playoff points as the other guys in front of us so we have to go out and try to manage expectations and go push as hard as we can. We didn’t want to peak too early this year so let’s go peak in the playoffs and win a bunch of races and lock ourselves into the Championship. But definitely less pressure from last year being the favorite every single week and feeling like we had to perform that way. Now we can go out and do it, we’ve felt like we were underneath the radar a little bit this year, maybe not the best truck every week, but hopefully with the playoffs that will be a different story.”
