Hailie Deegan, No. 1 Wastequip Ford F-150

    • Hailie Deegan will be making her 37th career NCWTS start this Saturday as the series takes on the Rackley Roofing 200.
    • Deegan tied her highest finish of the season at Knoxville Raceway last weekend, scoring a dominating heat race victory en route to a 15th-place finish.
    • Deegan will be making her second career appearance at Nashville Superspeedway. The 20-year-old finished 21st in last year’s contest following a strong top-15 qualifying effort.
    • Veteran Crew Chief Mike Hillman Jr. has made 10 career NCWTS starts at the 1.33 mile oval. The two-time series champion has totaled five top-fives, seven top-10’s and netted a 2011 victory with Todd Bodine.

Tanner Gray, No. 15 Ford Performance F-150

    • Tanner Gray will make his 62nd career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start when the series rolls into Nashville Superspeedway on Friday.
    • Last season at the 1.33-mile concrete oval, the Ford driver started from the tail after inspection issues and rallied to finish 18th.
    • Gray had just entered the top-10 at Knoxville last race before a flat right front tire forced the No. 15 pitside. He was trapped one lap down and finished 22nd.
    • Jerry Baxter has 11 starts at Nashville in the Xfinity Series with one victory (Michael Waltrip – 2004), three top-fives and six top-10s.

Ryan Preece, No. 17 Hunt Brothers Pizza F-150

    • Ryan Preece and Hunt Brothers Pizza reunite this Friday looking to defend last year’s triumph at Nashville Superspeedway.
    • In five starts this season, Preece has two top-fives and four top-10s and narrowly missed out on extending his top-10 streak with an 11th-place finish in his most recent start at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
    • Not only will the veteran driver be looking to repeat his Nashville victory from one season ago, but he will be looking for back-to-back wins for the No. 17 F-150 as Todd Gilliland led 58 laps and scored pay dirt at Knoxville Raceway last Saturday night.
    • Seth Smith will pair up with Preece for the second time this season. The duo finished seventh together at Darlington Raceway on May 6.
  • Nashville Businesses Partner with Jesse Little at Nashville Superspeedway

Nashville Businesses Partner with Jesse Little at Nashville Superspeedway

Mooresville, NC (June 20, 2022) – We are excited to announce that several Middle Tennessee business owners have come together to support racing in the Nashville community by sponsoring Jesse Little and his Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet for the upcoming NASCAR Camping World Truck race at Nashville Superspeedway.

The goal of the sponsorship is to help create awareness and support the efforts being made to bring the sport back to Music City for years to come, while also raising funds for one of its most important organizations, Motor Racing Outreach.

Check out all the details at NASHVILLERACE.COM

Racing has always been about family and building relationships. We don’t know if it was by chance or fate, but this whole idea started around a campfire in February at Daytona.

This is where Travis Wright, partner at CS&A Insurance based in Nashville, Tenn, and owners of Young’s Motorsports, Randy and Tyler Young found themselves as neighbors in the infield.

After coming off a sixth-place finish, Little and the rest of the race team were celebrating their strong showing by hanging out in the motor coach neighborhood with Travis, Tyler, and Randy.

As the evening turned to night, the group found themselves talking about Nashville and all the excitement about NASCAR being back for two years in a row.

On a whim, Travis posed the idea of collaborating with local Nashville businesses to sponsor Jesse for the race at the Nashville Superspeedway. “How neat would it be if we can bring folks together and create more awareness for the sport in the Nashville community?”, Travis said.

Randy, Tyler, and Jesse all looked at each other and said, “Well then, let’s make it happen!” and the rest is history!

The other sponsorship component was how can we also “give back” through this partnership? Travis has worked locally in Nashville with Motor Racing Outreach for several years and the Waltrip Brothers Charity Championship (WBCC).

This is the annual golf tournament and concert hosted by Darrell and Michael Waltrip to raise funds for MRO every year. MRO has been an instrumental organization for drivers, crews, and their families for close to three decades.

Little grew up as one of the MRO kids as he spent most of his childhood at the racetrack when his dad, Chad Little, raced in the 1990s. The plan would be to donate any funds raised over what is needed for the sponsorship to MRO.

Over $20K has been donated to MRO because of this sponsorship

Jesse Little will be honoring his dad Chad Little with a throwback paint scheme and retro driver suit that resembles the suit Chad wore in the 90s.

The primary sponsor is Nashville-based business Catchin’ Deers. Business owner and former Nashville Predator Mike Fisher is excited about this partnership. “We are really looking forward to the race and the opportunity to partner with such a great group of people”.

The other local business sponsors include CS&A Insurance, Nashville K-9, Pella Windows & Doors of Nashville, Gary Ashton RE/MAX Advantage, Granite Garage Floors, Southern Shine, Southern Events, Puckett’s Restaurant, Outdoor LED Rentals, Velocity Motorcars CRC and Cool Hand Speedco.

  • GMS Racing NCWTS Race Recap: Knoxville

GMS Racing NCWTS Race Recap: Knoxville

Grant Enfinger, No. 23 Champion Power Equipment Chevrolet Silverado RST

    START: 11TH
    FINISH: 8TH
    POINTS: 9TH

Quote: “Overall, not exactly the night we wanted tonight at Knoxville. We came here searching for a checkered flag, but we didn’t really have quite enough speed to contend for one. We were able to make some solid improvements from our setup at Bristol Dirt, and felt like we might have been a 5th or 6th place truck most of the night. We tallied up some good stage points, and I suggested that we stayed out after the second stage to position ourselves for the win with some single file racing. The track workers did a great job prepping the track and enabled some more passing, so looking back, that move might have hurt us a little. I got shuffled out of the way on the last few restarts which put us down the leaderboard, but to come home eighth, I would say it was a solid day. Good points night for sure, and now I’m focused on ending this eight race stretch on a high note at Nashville next week!”

Jack Wood, No. 24 ChevyLiners.com Chevrolet Silverado RST

    START: 36TH
    FINISH: 21ST
    POINTS: 21ST

Quote: “I think we were putting ourselves in position to have a decent day after having to start from the rear tonight. Towards the end of the race, I felt like we could have legitimately had ourselves a top-15 run, but unfortunately the No. 45 truck wrecked us and we got trapped a lap down, which definitely put us in a hole with so few laps to go. You know, overall, I think we had an improvement from our race at Bristol Dirt, but luckily this was the last dirt race of the year, so it will be nice to have a little reset before we head to a typical oval at Nashville next week.”

    ABOUT GMS RACING:

NCWTS Recap: Knoxville Raceway – Gilliland WINS!

    Saturday, June 18

    Start: 8th
    Stage 1: 14th
    Stage 2: 16th
    Finish: 15th

Hailie Deegan dominated the third heat race and lined up eighth for the Clean Harbors 150. The California native finished 14th in Stage 1 and 16th in Stage 2, but consistently battled around the top-10. Deegan was in 11th when the field restarted with 20 laps remaining and after a spirited battle in the closing laps she brought home a 15th-place finish.

Tanner Gray, No. 15 Ford Performance F-150

    Start: 16th
    Stage 1: 24th
    Stage 2: 17th
    Finish: 22nd

Tanner Gray finished fourth in the final heat race of the evening and started the 150-lap event from 16th. The Ford driver was passing for 11th late in Stage 1 when contact with another truck sent him spinning. He finished 24th in Stage 1 and took the wave around to get back on the lead lap. Gray would go on to finish 17th in Stage 2 and creep back into the top-10 with under 50 laps to go. A flat right front tire on lap 126 halted all momentum though and after pitting and losing two laps, the No. 15 was relegated to a 22nd-place finish.

Todd Gilliland, No. 17 Frontline Enterprises Ford F-150

    Start: 9th
    Stage 1: 2nd
    Stage 2: 1st
    Finish: 1st

Todd Gilliland led every lap of the final heat race and rolled off ninth for the main event. Gilliland cracked the top-five just 17 laps into the race and was in second at the conclusion of Stage 1. The Cup Series rookie took the lead on lap 66 and went on to win Stage 2. He restarted the final stage from fifth and retook the top spot with 48 laps to go. A close battle with John Hunter Nemechek pushed Gilliland to second with under 25 to go, but the Frontline Enterprises driver kept digging and captured the lead again with nine to go and never looked back. The victory is the third NCWTS win for David Gilliland Racing.

Next event: Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville Superspeedway in Nashville, Tennessee on June 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
