Worldwide Express Expands Partnership with Niece Motorsports, Carson Hocevar

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 26, 2022) – Building on recent growth to its WWEX Racing program, Worldwide Express is expanding its partnership with Niece Motorsports and will serve as primary sponsor for Carson Hocevar and the No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado for eight NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races this season.

Coming off three top-five finishes in the last four weeks, Hocevar will run with associate sponsorship from Worldwide Express in Friday night’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. His debut in a Worldwide Express-branded truck will come June 18 for the Clean Harbors 150 at Knoxville Raceway and will continue at NCWTS events at Nashville, Pocono, Indianapolis Raceway Park, Richmond, Bristol, Homestead and Phoenix.

“I’m very excited to be a part of Worldwide Express’ driver lineup spanning both the NASCAR Cup Series and Truck Series,” Hocevar said. “Worldwide Express’ continual and rapid growth in NASCAR, both in the Cup Series and Truck Series, proves its dedication and commitment to the sport, and I cannot wait to get behind the wheel of the No. 42 Worldwide Express Chevrolet Silverado.

“I’m looking forward to representing a nationally-recognized organization like Worldwide Express both on and off the track, and the extension of their support within Niece Motorsports is unparalleled in the Truck Series.”

Worldwide Express, along with its sister brands of GlobalTranz and Unishippers, currently serve as the full-season, primary partners of Niece Motorsports’ No. 40 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender Dean Thompson. Worldwide Express is also the primary partner for four 2022 NCWTS races of the No. 41 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado piloted by two-time NASCAR Cup Series winner Ross Chastain, including upcoming races in Charlotte and Sonoma.

“We’re excited to expand our partnership with Niece Motorsports and add Carson to our growing WWEX Racing portfolio, which has amplified our brand visibility and delivered tangible benefits to our business,” said Rob Rose, President of Worldwide Express. “Carson is poised for victory as one of the hottest drivers in the Truck Series, and we look forward to supporting him and the Niece Motorsports team as they race for the championship.”

The Dallas-based Worldwide Express, GlobalTranz and Unishippers teams bring together three brands offering market-leading solutions for parcel, less-than-truckload (LTL), truckload and managed transportation services, all delivered through proprietary technology. Their unique data assets and business intelligence capabilities provide customers with visibility and analytics to deliver a competitive advantage.

“We’re really proud of the partnership that we are building with Worldwide Express and are excited to continue that with Carson and the 42 team,” said Niece Motorsports General Manager Cody Efaw. “The support they’ve shown our team with Dean [Thompson], Ross [Chastain] and now Carson is really tremendous. We’re looking forward to continuing that partnership as the season goes on.”

“It means a lot to us as an organization to have a company like Worldwide Express believe in us and to continue to grow their involvement with our team,” said team owner Al Niece. “It really is amazing to see how this organization has grown in the last five years. We have a lot of great people on board that are working hard to get Worldwide Express in victory lane.”

The 19-year-old Hocevar’s NCWTS career spans 40 starts over four seasons and he is currently competing in his second full-time season in the series – both of which have been with Niece Motorsports. Hocevar has six career top-fives and 13 top-10s to his credit, with an average finishing position of 14.2.

In 2021, at the age of 18, Hocevar made the move to full-time Truck Series competition for his rookie campaign in the series and clinched a playoff spot before advancing to the Round of 8, narrowly missing a chance at the Championship 4.

Through nine races this season, Hocevar has logged three top-fives and five top-10s while leading a career-high 78 laps. He matched his career-best finish of second place twice this season at Bristol Dirt (Apr. 6) and Darlington (May 6). Hocevar led a career-best 55 laps and picked up his first-career stage win at Darlington en route to the runner-up finish.

Worldwide Express also recently announced a multi-year partnership with Trackhouse Racing that spans 21 NASCAR Cup Series races during the 2022 and 2023 seasons for Chastain’s No. 1 Chevrolet and Daniel Suárez’s No. 99 Chevrolet.

Max Gutiérrez Set for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Debut with AM Racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway

CONCORD, N.C.: AM Racing confirmed today that former NASCAR Mexico Challenge Series champion Max Gutiérrez will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut in Friday night’s N.C. Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.

Charlotte will signify the first of several Truck Series races this season where Gutiérrez, a former winner in the ARCA Menards Series will pilot the team’s second entry on a part-time entry with additional races to be announced soon.

“I am very excited to reach the goal of getting the opportunity to make my NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut with AM Racing this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway,” said Gutiérrez. “I am so thankful to everyone that has made this possible and is supporting me in this next chapter of my career.”

Gutiérrez’s Truck Series debut will be supported by a roster of his longtime supporters not only in ARCA competition but throughout his racing career in his homeland of Mexico.

TOUGHBUILT will serve as the primary marketing partner of the No. 37 Chevrolet Silverado RST, while additional support pours in from Bolsa DX, GoGig, Teknekk and Telmex.

“After years of competition, diligent work, and training, TOUGHBUILT is proud to see Max take this essential step in his career with our Pro-grade ethos backing him up,” offered Kam Diba, Chief Creator and Chief Marketing Officer TOUGBUILT. “We are excited to stand with him as he celebrates this landmark achievement and breaks new ground with NASCAR.”

Mike Francis, CEO of Distributed Ledger Inc. | BolsaDX offered, “We have been watching Max rise through the ranks over the last year and a half as he continues to push new boundaries with every race,” he said. “The Distributed Ledger Inc. and BolsaDX teams couldn’t be prouder of Max and his accomplishments. We wish him and his team the best of luck this weekend in Charlotte.”

A three-year partner of Gutiérrez, TekNekk LLC. also makes the jumps to Trucks.

“TekNekk.com is a remote-control parental app that protects a child’s spine, mind and safety, and a proud sponsor of Max Gutierrez for three seasons,” explained TekNekk LLC CEO Troy Wilke.

GoGig who joined the partnership lineup for Gutiérrez in February at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway will also adorn its logo on the No. 37 AM Racing Chevrolet Silverado RST.

“GoGig is proud to sponsor Max Gutierrez and the Toughbuilt car for Max’s debut,” sounded GoGig Founder & CEO Chris Hodges. “GoGig’s founding principle was to remove bias and promote diversity + inclusion in the hiring process for job seekers by allowing them to remain anonymous.

“The entire GoGig team couldn’t be prouder to represent Max and his Mexican heritage in the same manner for this upcoming race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.”

Veteran AM Racing crew chief Jamie Jones will serve as crew chief for Gutiérrez at Charlotte on Friday night. “We are thrilled to be a part of Max’s next chapter in making the transition to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series,” said AM Racing team principal Kevin Cywinski.

“Through our great relationship with Rette Jones Racing Development, we have been able to have some success with Max this year and we look forward to continuing his steady progression and success in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series not only at Charlotte but other races in 2022.”

I am confident we will return to performing at the level that will bring our Chevrolet Silverado back to a good spot this week.”

Chandler Smith – No. 18 Safelite Tundra TRD Pro Camping World Trucks Charlotte Preview

Chandler Smith: Driver, No. 18 Safelite® Toyota

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Overview:
Event: North Carolina Education Lottery 200, Race 10 of 23, 134 Laps –30/30/74; 201 Miles
    Location: Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway (1.5-mile, quad-oval)
    Date/Broadcast: May 27, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR 90

    Chandler Chatter:

Chandler Smith heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway for Friday’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 looking to pay off debt he owes to KBM owner-driver Kyle Busch from a challenge they made in March at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Tex. At COTA, the two engaged in a friendly challenge where the lower finisher would clean all the windshields at KBM the following week. Busch’s third-place result was two spots better than Smith, but he accepted Smith’s double or nothing bet for this week’s race at Charlotte, where the boss will once again be sporting the white reciprocal paint scheme of Smith’s No. 18 Safelite Tundra TRD Pro on his No. 51 Tundra TRD Pro. Safelite, the nation’s largest provider of vehicle glass repair, replacement and recalibration services, returned to KBM for a fifth season in 2022 and will be the primary sponsor on Smith’s Tundra TRD Pro Tundra for a total of 16 races this year as well as the two races with Busch.

Smith had a respectable outing last year in his first career start in any series at Charlotte, bringing home a sixth-place result. While Smith has just one Charlotte start, Busch is the all-time wins leader at the 1.5-mile quad-oval, winning in eight of his 14 Camping World Truck Series starts in the Queen City.

While he has just one prior start at Charlotte, the mile-and-a-half tracks have been a strong suit for the Georgia driver in 2022. Smith was victorious at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway in March, finishing one position ahead of Busch. At Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway Smith took the white flag with the lead before surrendering the lead to his KBM teammate Corey Heim and ended up finishing fourth. The past two weeks the 19-year-old driver had finished inside the top 10 at mile-and-a-half tracks, with a fourth-place result at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City two weeks ago and an eighth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth last week.

After nine races Smith sits third in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular season point standings, 18 tallies behind his KBM teammate John Hunter Nemechek. Through the first nine events of the season Smith ranks second among Truck Series regulars in average starting position (7.7), third in average finish (9.9) and fourth in average running position (8.7) and driver rating (101.0). He has produced one win, four top-five and six top-10 finishes in his sophomore campaign.

The Georgia driver earned NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of the Year honors in 2021 and finished eighth in the championship standings after producing two victories, one pole, 213 laps led, six top-five and nine top-10 finishes in his first full-time season. He earned his first career Truck Series victory at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway in September and in the series finale at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway earned his first career pole and swept all three stages en route to his second victory.

In addition to his Truck Series schedule in 2022, Smith is competing in a three-race schedule with Sam Hunt Racing (SHR). Smith finished 38th in his series debut at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway after a mid-race wreck and finished 21st at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway. His final race with SHR will come Oct. 22 at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway.

Veteran crew chief Danny Stockman will once again call the shots for Smith and the No. 18 team in 2022. Stockman’s drivers have produced six victories at KBM across his first two seasons, including two with Smith behind the wheel in 2021. The veteran crew chief captured a Truck Series championship with Austin Dillon in 2011 and also won an Xfinity Series championship with Dillon in 2013. Stockman’s drivers have produced one top-five and three top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 12.5 across four Truck Series starts at Texas. His best result was a runner-up finish with KBM owner-driver Kyle Busch in 2020. Stockman won an Xfinity Series race with Dillon at Charlotte in October of 2015.

    Chandler Smith, Driver Q&A:
Chandler Smith | Charlotte Motor Speedway Preview
How do like your chances of finishing ahead of Kyle and getting out of washing all the windows at KBM?
“I feel great. I’ve been racing the mile-and-a-halves here recently and I’ve got top 10s at every mile-and-a-half this year – won at Las Vegas and had really strong runs at all the other mile-and-a-halves and I have a little more seat time than Kyle at the mile-and-a-half tracks this year – so I think my chances are good! He’s really good at road course, I’m not going to lie, I don’t know why I made that bet at COTA. Really excited about doing it here at Charlotte and really excited for Safelite to have two trucks in the race.”

Why have you been so good on mile-and-a-half tracks this year?
“We’ve had a really fast Toyota Tundra every single weekend. Las Vegas obviously we won and that was our first mile-and-a-half with our new mile-and-a-half package that we’ve been running. We started running it at the end of last year and it was kind of ok. We worked on it in the off season and obviously it’s a lot better. We’ve been carrying it over to Kansas and Texas and all the mile-and-a-halves we’ve been to, and it has been successful, so we’ll be bringing it to Charlotte. It’s trending every single time we unload that we fight the same thing and then we know what to do to get it where it needs to be and then it’s really good for the race.”

How does Charlotte compare to the mile-and-half tracks you’ve raced recently?
“The biggest comparison is the obvious, it’s a mile-and-a-half and the second thing is the speed – the on throttle time especially. With mile-and-a-halves you have so much on throttle time that it really matters more than anything that you have a really good handling truck. The trucks that are really fast, they can get in the lead and take off, that’s good for them, but what happens when they get in dirty air? They can’t do anything about it, so how are they going to get back to the front. So, having a truck that is fast, but also drives really good. You can’t have both, so you have to find a fine line and a good balance of the that and I feel like that is where our mile-and-a-half program is really excelling right now.”

    Chandler Smith Career Highlights:

    • Across 47 career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts has recorded three wins, 362 laps led, 18 top-five and 24 top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 14.0.

Raceway earned his first career pole and swept all three stages en route to his second victory.
    • Has posted an average finish of 29.5 across two NASCAR Xfinity Series starts in 2022, with a best result of 22nd coming at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway.
    • Has collected nine wins, 10 poles, 1783 laps led, 22 top-five and 29 top-10 finishes en route to an average finish of 5.4 across 34 career ARCA Menards Series starts.

Chandler Smith’s No. 18 Safelite Tundra:
KBM-63: The No. 18 Safelite team will unload KBM-63 for Friday night’s race. Smith produced a fourth-place finish with this Tundra TRD Pro two races ago at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City and finished fourth with it earlier in the year at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway. Kyle Busch drove KBM-63 to its lone victory in June of 2020 at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway.
    KBM-63 Performance Profile

    KBM Notes of Interest:

    • John Hunter Nemechek picked up the victory in last year’s Charlotte race. Prior to that, owner-driver Kyle Busch had collected all six of his organization’s wins (2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018).
    • KBM holds the Camping World Truck Series records for most career wins (93) and most wins in a single season (14 in 2014). With his victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway Corey Heim became the 18th different driver to win a Truck Series event for KBM. In addition to collecting a series-record seven Owner’s Championships, the organization has produced two championship-winning drivers: Erik Jones (2015) and Christopher Bell (2017).
