Weekend schedule for New Hampshire

The NASCAR Cup Series heads to New Hampshire Motor Speedway Sunday for the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301. With only seven races left in the regular season, Kevin Harvick (4 wins) is the current leader in the standings by 97 points over Brad Keselowski (2 wins) in second place.

Ryan Blaney (1), Denny Hamlin (5), Chase Elliott (1), Joey Logano (2), Martin Truex Jr. (1), Alex Bowman (1), Austin Dillon (1), and Cole Custer (1) are also locked into the Playoffs with victories this year. Only the top 16 drivers will advance, leaving six available spots.

Tyler Reddick is leading the hunt for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year award with 442 points. Cole Custer is second with 352 points followed by Christopher Bell (339), John H. Nemechek (325), Brennan Poole (136) and Quin Houff (101).

Aric Almirola will lead the field to green with Hamlin on the outside pole, after a random draw.

Weekend schedule for Kansas

The NASCAR Cup Series kicks off this week’s events at Kansas Speedway Thursday evening. Next up is the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series in the first of a doubleheader on Friday night. They will compete again Saturday afternoon followed by the Xfinity Series Kansas Lottery 250 to close out the weekend.

The ARCA Menards Series will also take to the track Friday night after the conclusion of the first Truck Series race.

Weekend schedule for Texas Motor Speedway

All three national series will compete at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend. First up is the Xfinity Series race Saturday afternoon followed by the Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series race at 8 p.m.

The NASCAR Cup Series will close out the weekend’s events with the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 on Sunday at 3 p.m. With the completion of this race, the series will have reached the halfway point of the 2020 season. Jimmie Johnson has the most Cup Series wins of active drivers at Texas with seven, followed by Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch with three victories each.

Schedule, Lineup, Rules for the NASCAR All-Star Race at Bristol

For the first time in NASCAR history, the All-Star Race will be held at Bristol Motor Speedway and the action begins Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET with the All-Star Open. Sixteen drivers are locked into the event with the Open providing an opportunity for three more drivers to race their way into the main event.

The All-Star Open will take place before the All-Star Race and will include three segments. The first two segments are 35 laps each with a final segment of 15 laps. The winner of each segment will transfer to the All-Star Race along with the driver who wins the fan vote, for a total of 20 drivers.

After the Open, the fan vote winner will be announced with the All-Star Race set to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET. The All-Star Race will include four segments and 140 laps. Segment one will consist of 55 laps, segments two and three will be 35 laps each with a final segment of 15 laps. Both events will be televised on FS1 with radio coverage by MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

In addition to a different venue for this year’s event, we will see some changes to the cars. The car numbers will be shifted backward and closer to the rear wheels to add more room to showcase the sponsors. All of the drivers who are locked into the All-Star Race will also feature underglow lights beneath their vehicles.

We will also see a new “Choose Rule” for restarts implemented during the Open and the All-Star Race. The rule allows the drivers to choose which lane they want to restart in before the green flag. There will be a designated spot on the track and the driver will have to commit to a lane before that spot. Changing lanes after they pass the designated spot will result in a penalty, sending them to the back of the field.

Weekend schedule for Kentucky

This weekend NASCAR heads to Kentucky Speedway. The Xfinity Series will feature a double-header, competing on Thursday and Friday. The Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series will provide Saturday’s racing action preceded by the ARCA Menards Series General Tire 150. The Cup Series closes out the weekend Sunday afternoon with the Quaker State 400.

In the nine previous Cup Series races at Kentucky, there have been five different race winners. Brad Keselowski leads with three victories at the 1.5-mile tri-oval (2012, 2014, 2016). Kyle Busch (2011, 2015) and Martin Truex Jr. (2017, 2018) have won twice while Matt Kenseth (2013) and Kurt Busch (2019) have one win each at the track.

Kevin Harvick leads the Cup Series driver standings by 85 points over Chase Elliott.

Weekend schedule for Indianapolis

The world’s most famous 2.5-mile oval track, Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), will host the first-ever NASCAR/INDYCAR triple-header this weekend. The 2-day event that kicks off with NTT INDYCAR SERIES (NTTICS) GMR Grand Prix on the track’s road course at noon on Saturday followed by NASCAR’s Xfinity Series (NXS) Pennzoil 150 at 3 p.m. on NBC. Then on Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series will race the 27th running of the Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 at 4 p.m. on NBC and broadcast live on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network.

NASCAR Cup Series

The Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 race will be 400 miles (160 laps) and broken up into three stages. The first two stages will be 50 laps each and the final stage will be 60 laps.

Five former Indianapolis race winners are entered in this weekend race. Seven-time series champion Jimmie Johnson with four wins (2006, 2008, 2009, 2012), Kevin Harvick (2003, 2019), Kyle Busch (2015, 2016), Brad Keselowski (2018) and Ryan Newman (2013).

NASCAR Xfinity Series

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will race the road course for the first time in series history this weekend. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course is a 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course that will provide a whole new set of challenges for drivers and teams. Saturday’s race will be 62 laps for 151.22 miles with the first two stages being 20 laps each and the final stage is 22 laps.

For the first time since the break from the COVID-19 pandemic, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will be allowed to practice prior to race. The teams and drivers will get two practice sessions on Friday, July 3 at 1:30 p.m. ET and at 3 p.m. ET.

Weekend Schedule for Homestead-Miami Speedway

This weekend NASCAR travels to Homestead-Miami Speedway for a full weekend of completion that includes a double-header for the Xfinity Series, a Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series race and the Dixie Vodka 400 Cup Series event Sunday afternoon.

Denny Hamlin will start on the pole for the Dixie Vodka 400 and Harrison Burton scored the pole for Saturday’s Xfinity Series Hooters 250, both based on a random draw. The Xfinity pole for Sunday’s Contender Boats 250 will be based on the race results of the Hooters 250 with an inverted top-15. The pole winner for the Truck Series was chosen by a random draw as well, based on the owners’ point standings, with Austin Hill claiming the top spot.

NASCAR schedule for Charlotte Motor Speedway

Charlotte Motor Speedway will host four races on four consecutive days, beginning with the NASCAR Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 this Sunday. Monday will feature the Xfinity Series Alsco 300 followed by the Gander Truck Series North Carolina Education Lottery 200 on Tuesday. The Cup Series will wrap up the events in Charlotte with the Alsco Uniforms 500 Wednesday evening.

The track will once again pay tribute to U.S. Armed Forces members who made the ultimate sacrifice with “600 Miles of Remembrance.” Each of the cars will display the name of a fallen soldier across the windshield.

Weekend schedule for Atlanta – Racing postponed

Update from NASCAR:

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 13, 2020) – “NASCAR has decided to postpone the race events at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend and Homestead-Miami Speedway next weekend. We believe this decision is in the best interest of the safety and well-being of our fans, competitors, officials and everyone associated with our sport. We will continue to monitor this dynamic situation as we assess future race events.”

All three national series head to Atlanta Motor Speedway for a weekend of competition. Brad Keselowski has won two of the last three NASCAR Cup Series races at the 1.54-mile track (2019,2017) and finished second in 2018.

Christopher Bell, who currently competes in the Cup Series, won last year’s Xfinity Series race at Atlanta but is not entered in this weekend’s race. Kyle Busch won the 2019 Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series race and will compete in Saturday’s event.

After Busch scored his 57th career victory last week at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, there was the usual uproar about Busch competing in a lower series. This prompted Kevin Harvick to offer a $50,000 bounty for any full-time Cup Series driver who could beat Busch in one of his four remaining Truck Series races. RV & Outdoors CEO Marcus Lemonis responded by matching Harvick’s bounty, for a total payout of $100,000. This weekend at Atlanta, Chase Elliott will try to collect the bounty.

Weekend schedule for Phoenix Raceway

This week the NASCAR Cup Series and the Xfinity Series travel to Phoenix Raceway. The NASCAR Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series is off this week and will return to competition at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 14. The ARCA Menards Series will make its first trip to the one-mile track in Arizona.

Kevin Harvick has won three of the last five spring Cup Series races at Phoenix, in 2015, 2016 and 2018. Ryan Newman won the event in 2017 and Kyle Busch is the defending race winner.

There have been five different Xfinity winners going back to November 2017 when William Byron won. Brad Keselowski earned the win in March 2018 while Christopher Bell went to victory lane in Nov. 2018. Kyle Busch took the checkered flag in March 2019 and Justin Allgaier won in November 2019. Former winners Busch, Keselowski and Allgaier are entered in this weekend’s race.

Ty Gibbs won the K&N Series West event at Phoenix in 2019.
