    Weekend schedule for Darlington: August/September 2024

    This weekend NASCAR travels to Darlington Raceway. The Cook Out Southern 500 is the final race of the NASCAR Cup Series regular season for the first time since the Playoffs began in 2004.

    Thirteen drivers have already earned a spot in the 16-driver Cup Series Playoff field – Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, William Byron, Harrison Burton, Austin Cindric, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick and Daniel Suarez.

    The regular season Cup Series Champion will also be decided at Darlington. Tyler Reddick can clinch with 44 points, while Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott can only clinch with help.

    The Xfinity Series will compete on the 1.366-mile track on Saturday afternoon. There are only four races remaining in the Xfinity Series regular season with 12 drivers advancing to the Playoffs. Five drivers have already clinched a spot – Justin Allgaier, Shane van Gisbergen, Austin Hill, Sam Mayer and Chandler Smith.

    The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series takes a break from competition before the series Playoffs resume at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 16.

    NASCAR Press Pass will be available throughout the weekend.

    The NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series travel to Michigan International Speedway this weekend with only three races to go in the Cup Series regular season and six to go in the Xfinity Series.

    The ARCA Menards Series will get the racing action started Friday evening with the Henry Ford Health 200.

    Six active Cup Series drivers have previous wins at the 2-mile track:
    Joey Logano – 3
    Kyle Larson – 3
    Denny Hamlin – 2
    Chris Buescher – 1
    Kyle Busch – 1
    Ryan Blaney – 1

    Only two previous Xfinity Series winners are competing at Michigan – AJ Allmendinger (2021) and John Hunter Nemechek (2023). But it’s much more likely that we will see a new driver in Victory Lane as there have been 13 different drivers in Victory Lane, dating back to 2010.

    The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is off and returns to competition on August 25 at Milwaukee Mile Speedway.

    This weekend the NASCAR Cup Series and the Craftsman Truck Series head to Richmond Raceway for some short-track racing on the 0.75-mile asphalt oval. The NASCAR Xfinity Series has a week off and returns to competition on August 17 at Michigan International Speedway.

    Noteworthy: For the first time in a points-paying race, the Cup Series teams will have 2 tire options. The Prime tire will have yellow lettering on the sidewalls and the Option tire will have red lettering.

    1) Prime tire: A harder rubber compound designed for longevity but less grip
    2) Option tire: A softer rubber compound with more short-term grip but less longevity

    Each team will have six sets of Prime tires, including one set from qualifying, and two sets of Option tires. The two options cannot be mixed.

    The Cup Series teams will also have an extended practice and can use one set of each tire type during the 45-minute session.

    NASCAR Press Pass will be available post-qualifying and post-race for both series.

    This weekend the NASCAR Cup Series and the Xfinity Series return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway 2.5-mile oval as the the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series heads to the .686-mile asphalt oval at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP).

    The pressure to make the Playoffs is mounting with only five races remaining in the Cup Series regular season at Indianapolis, Richmond, Michigan, Daytona and Darlington.

    Five Cup Series drivers have clinched a spot in the 16-driver playoff field – Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, William Byron, Ryan Blaney, and Christopher Bell.

    Seven Xfinity Series drivers have secured a place in the 12-driver playoff field with seven races remaining in the regular season – Shane van Gisbergen, Chandler Smith, Austin Hill, Sam Mayer, Cole Custer, Justin Allgaier, and Jesse Love.

    There are only two races to go in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series regular season. Four drivers have claimed a spot in the 10-driver playoff field with only two races remaining in the regular season – Christian Eckes, Corey Heim, Nick Sanchez and Rajah Caruth.

    The ARCA Menards Series is also competing this weekend at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on Friday with practice at 1:30 p.m. and qualifying at 2:30 p.m. The ARCA Circle City 200 is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on FS1.

    The NASCAR Cup Series and the Xfinity Series return to the Chicago 2.20-mile asphalt street course this weekend for the second consecutive year.

    Eleven different Cup Series drivers have scored race wins this season and have secured their place in the 2024 Playoffs, leaving five available spots. Christopher Bell, William Byron, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Larson have each won three races. Ryan Blaney, Austin Cindric, Chase Elliott, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick and Daniel Suarez, have each scored one win.

    Keith Urban, The Chainsmokers, The Black Keys, and Lauren Alaina will provide a variety of entertainment throughout the weekend.

    Six Xfinity Series drivers have claimed a spot in the Playoffs with wins this year including Chandler Smith, Austin Hill, Sam Mayer, Shane van Gisbergen, Justin Allgaier, and Jesse Love.     Weekend schedule for Nashville

    This weekend the NASCAR Cup Series travels to Nashville Superspeedway for the fourth consecutive year. Chevrolet has dominated the series at the 1.33-mile concrete track. Ross Chastain is the defending Cup Series race winner as Hendrick Motorsports teammates Chase Elliott (2022) and Kyle Larson (2021) also return as previous winners.

    Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race is the 25th event for the series at Nashville. But only two past winners, Justin Allgaier (2022) and AJ Allmendinger (2023), are entered in this year’s race.

    The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series returns to competition Friday evening after a 3-week break for the final race of the 2024 Triple Truck Challenge. Current Cup Series driver, Carson Hocevar, is the defending race winner.

    Clint Bowyer will make his first NASCAR start since his retirement in 2020 and his first at Nashville Superspeedway. Bowyer will drive the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet in this weekend’s Truck Series Rackley Roofing 200.

    This weekend the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series head to New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Martin Truex Jr., who recently announced that this would be his final full-time season, is the defending race winner at the 1.058-mile track.

    So far this season, 10 different drivers have won Cup Series races and have guaranteed their spot in the Playoffs – William Byron, Daniel Suárez, Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott, Tyler Reddick, Brad Keselowski, Austin Cindric and Ryan Blaney.     NASCAR Weekend Schedule for Iowa Speedway

    This weekend the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Iowa Speedway for the first time. The Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol is scheduled for Sunday, June 16 at 7 p.m.. It will air on the USA Network at 7 p.m. ET with radio coverage provided by MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

    Nine drivers have earned a spot in the Cup Series Playoffs by virtue of wins including Christopher Bell, William Byron, Austin Cindric, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, Tyler Reddick and Daniel Suárez, leaving seven available spots.

    After a five-year absence, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will compete at the .875-mile short track. The Hy-Vee PERKS 250 is set for Saturday, June 15 at 3:30 p.m. ET and will also be broadcast on the USA Network, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

    Justin Allgaier, Austin Hill, Jesse Love, Sam Mayer, Chandler Smith, and Shane van Gisbergen have claimed their spot in the Xfinity Series Playoffs via wins, leaving six open spots.

    This weekend the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series travel to Sonoma Raceway. Martin Truex Jr. is the defending Cup Series race winner at the 1.99-mile track and leads all active drivers with four wins (2023, 2019, 2018, 2013) at Sonoma.

    Denny Hamlin is the most recent Cup Series pole winner with a lap of 92.178 mph in 77.719 seconds last June.

    This will be the second time the Xfinity Series has competed on the 1.99-mile course. Last year’s race winner, Aric Almirola, and pole winner, Kyle Larson, are not entered in this weekend’s event.
