Regan Smith Reuniting with JR Motorsports for Road Course Events

Smith to wheel No. 8 Fire Alarm Services Chevrolet at Mid-Ohio and Road America

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 19, 2019) – Regan Smith, current NASCAR analyst and pit reporter for Fox Sports, is temporarily trading in the microphone for the familiarity of a steering wheel this summer. Smith broke the news on “NASCAR Race Hub” earlier this evening, and JR Motorsports confirmed that he’ll return to his former team to drive the No. 8 Chevrolet in NASCAR Xfinity Series races at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (Aug. 10) and Road America (Aug. 24). Smith will also reunite with long-time partner Fire Alarm Services for the events.

It marks the 35-year-old Smith’s initial NXS start in two years and his first for JRM since 2016. The Cato, N.Y. native started his JRM career in a memorable way in 2012, winning in his team debut at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Smith moved into a full-time role for the organization from 2013-2015, a highly successful three-year stint that produced five wins – including one at Mid-Ohio – 26 top fives and 71 top 10s, along with a Most Popular Driver Award. Smith’s best points finish, a second-place effort in the 2014 NXS championship, crowned JRM the first team in 14 years to claim first and second in the series point standings.

“I can’t tell you how pumped I am for this,” Smith said. “Dale, Kelley and everyone at JRM have been like family to me, so in a way, it feels like I’m coming home. I have great memories of the years I spent there and the success we had during that time. And to have Fire Alarm on board for these races makes it all the more meaningful. They’ve been both friends and supporters of mine for a long time.”

Smith’s No. 8 Fire Alarm Services entry will be nearly identical to the neon green and flat black paint scheme he carried to victory with JRM in 2015 at Dover International Speedway. With headquarters in Arvada, Colo., Fire Alarm Services, Inc. provides superior Fire Life Safety and Security services and products for protecting its clients’ real-estate investment. The company brings a fresh and innovative approach to the Fire Life Safety industry with an emphasis on developing lasting client relationships and unmatched customer service.

“Regan is a great friend, and he means so much to our company,” said Dale Earnhardt Jr. “He won a lot of races here, but for me his significance was no more evident than in his very first race for JRM at the end of 2012. That win at Homestead was enormous. It ended a winless streak for JR Motorsports that had dragged us down for more than two years. It was a tone-setter. It gave us momentum that, to be honest, I’m not sure we’ve ever lost. That’s what Regan means to this company, and that’s why I’m thrilled to have him back for these two races at Mid-Ohio and Road America.”

Smith is the ninth driver named to the No. 8 this season. The team, led by crew chief Taylor Moyer, is currently ranked 10th in owner points on the strength of four top-five and 11 top-10 finishes.

Bell wins the CircuitCity.com 250 at Iowa

Christopher Bell led 186 of 250 laps on Sunday to win the NASCAR Xfinity series Circuitcity.com at Iowa Speedway. This was his fourth victory of the season and his second straight win at Iowa.

It was his 12th victory in 55 Xfinity Series races.

“Man, I got to win at Dover on Mother’s Day weekend, or, I guess it was the week before with my mom there,” Bell said. “Now I just won on Father’s Day with my dad here, so it was pretty special.”

Bell dominated the race in his No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, sweeping all the stages.

Pole-sitter Cole Custer led the first 51 laps before Bell was able to pass him for the lead during the first stage and Custer ultimately finished second.

When asked about the contact with Bell which led to him losing the lead, Custer said, “I think it was racing. I think every driver will agree that this place puts on the best racing that we go to, so it was fun. Christopher (Bell) and them had the best car all day. I feel like we caught up to them a good amount. We just need a little more time to work on it.”

Justin Allgaier earned third place in his No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet followed by Joe Gibbs Racing’s Harrison Burton in fourth while Zane Smith finished fifth in the JRM No. 8. Noah Gragson finished sixth and was the highest finishing rookie.

Tyler Reddick had a flat tire right before the finish of Stage 1, putting him two laps down. He finished 15th and holds the series points lead by 51 points over Bell.

  • Tyler Reddick wins the LTI Printing 250 at Michigan International Speedway

Tyler Reddick wins the LTI Printing 250 at Michigan International Speedway

It was a bright sunny day for NASCAR Xfinity Series, LTI Printing 250 at Michigan International Speedway. Especially for Tyler Reddick who wheeled his No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet into Victory Lane. Reddick kept his Chevy near the front of the race and was able to take advantage of a miscue by Cole Custer and Christopher Bell and capture his third win of the season.

Our KCMG Chevrolet was really good.” Reddick noted, “ I made some mistakes on pit road and we didn’t get the track position until the end there. A great team effort, I didn’t do the thing I needed to do out on the racetrack but man that was a great car and we just put ourselves in a position to win.”

Noah Gragson brought his No. 9 JR Chevrolet Motorsports home in second, a career best finish for Gragson.

“ It was challenging, we got ourselves in a hole there in the second stage during the pit stops. Gragson commented, “ The 19 (Brandon Jones) checked up and I hit him. I just didn’t know where to go on pit road.” Gragson added, “ Great effort by everyone on the Switch team at JR Motorsports, they rallied and they never quit.” Gragson stated, “ We’re just going to keep plugging at it taking baby steps from here.”

Michael Annett brought his No.1 JR Motorsports Chevrolet home in third place.

“ I don’t know how much Tyler was playing the fuel strategy. I know that we were really tight and he was on the same plan I think Noah was too ” He added, “We came in and splashed off with one to go and were able to stay out and get that track position, that’s what today was all about. Thank you to everyone at JRM, it’s good to get us in the top five.”

Stage 1 started with Paul Menard on the pole and Christopher Bell making up the front row. The first caution happened early when the cars of Dillon Bassett and Ray Black Jr. spin around. The caution flag waived for the second time at lap 13 when Riley Herbst tagged the wall and at the same time Jeb Burton spun. Menard was pretty much untouchable leading every lap and winning the stage easily.

Stage 2 started with Menard in the top spot once again. A couple of cars made a bid for the lead but couldn’t make the pass stick. It looked as if it would be an easy stage win for Menard, but on the last lap Bell made his move to win stage 2. The stage ran without any cautions flags.

The final stage started with Bell and Cole Custer making up the front row. The first caution of the stage came out for Gray Gaulding who spun. A miscue with Bell’s team who wanted him to pit, but he stayed out. Custer’s team was supposed to do whatever Bell did so they didn’t pit either. With 30 laps to go Custer took the lead but still needed to make a pit stop along with Bell. Drivers tried to save gas because some were going to be close on if they could make it the rest of the way. Bell and Custer appear to be around 7 laps short on fuel. Bell and Custer had to make pit stops for fuel, which gave the lead to Reddick with 11 laps to go. Reddick stayed in front and took home the checkered flag.

Menard and Justin Allgaier would round out the top five. Brandon Jones, Chase Briscoe, John Hunter Nemechek, Jeb Burton, and Justin Haley finished sixth through 10th, respectively.

Reddick leads the NASCAR Xfinity Series Point Standings with 627 points, Bell is in second with 538 points, Custer is in third with 510 points, Austin Cindric is fourth with 486 points, Allgaier rounds out the top five with 479 points.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads next to Iowa Speedway on Sunday June 16.

Tyler Reddick celebrates in Victory Lane after winning the LTi Printing 250

BROOKLYN, Mich. (June 8, 2019) — Tyler Reddick used a good pit call and a little bit of luck to win the NASCAR Xfinity Series LTi Printing 250 at Michigan International Series.

An incident between Chase Briscoe and Tommy Jo Martins brought out the caution flag on lap 78. Christopher Bell was leading at the time as he and his crew chief faced the ultimate decision. He faked coming to pit road under yellow, but at the last instance he turned right to stay on the track. Cole Custer, in second place at the time, stayed out along with Bell. Reddick and the rest of the leaders pitted.

Bell and Custer had to pit for fuel with 10 laps to go under green to take them out of contention. Reddick who was in third place at the time, inherited the lead. He saved enough in fuel his final run, holding on for the win. It was his third of the season and first victory at MIS

“We bring great race cars to the track each week,” Reddick said. “All the guys at the shop work really hard on these Chevrolet Camaros. All the guys with Richard Childress Racing are outstanding every single day.”

Noah Gragson passed Michael Annett and Paul Menard over the final two laps to finish second. Annett, Menard and Justin Allgaier rounded out the top five.

Menard qualified first with a lap of 193.356 MPH to lead the field to the green flag for the LTi Printing 250. He was joined on the front row by Christopher Bell.

Menard carried the momentum from qualifying to the race when he led the first 33 laps, winning the first stage. Bell jumped to the front of the field in stage two and took the green and white checkered flag.

  • Reddick Wins Charlotte For Second Xfinity Win of 2019

Reddick Wins Charlotte For Second Xfinity Win of 2019

Tyler Reddick scored his second win of the 2019 Xfinity Series season when he won Saturday’s Alsco 300 by 2.10 seconds over runner-up Justin Allgaier. Jeffrey Earnhardt took home third place, while rookies Noag Gragson and Justin Haley rounded out the top-five.

The win was the fifth of Reddick’s career and his third on a 1.5-mile speedway. Reddick began the race in third, but managed to lead the most laps (110) on the way to winning the second stage and the race itself, enduring several wild late-race restarts.

“This is a place I didn’t feel good about, I’m not going to lie,” said Reddick. “I was really worried, Charlotte is kind of been the point in my season where things past Charlotte haven’t really gone good. It’s really nice to come into Charlotte, practice good, come into the race, run good, and come away with a win. Hopefully that means the next couple are going to keep rolling this way.”

The win was the eighth top-four finish for the defending series champion.

Christopher Bell began the race on the pole and led 33 laps and won the first stage, but suffered a tire failure and made contact with the wall around the halfway point of the race. He would finish 31st in his second DNF of the season.

Michael Annett, Jeb Burton, Ryan Sieg, Austin Cindric, and Brandon Jones rounded out the top-10.

The day was excessively hot, which led to a slick race track and several front-runners suffered tire issues or made contact with the wall, including Bell, Jones, John Hunter Nemechek, Earnhardt, Chase Briscoe, and outside-polesitter Cole Custer. Several drivers were also overheated during and after the race, including Reddick, Haley, and Earnhardt, who was later taken to the medical center after experiencing dizziness on pit road.

Fourth-place starter Austin Dillon had to relinquish his seat to Cup teammate Daniel Hemric with 40 laps to go when the seat in his Kaulig Racing got too hot and began burning his ribs.

The next race will be June 1 at Pocono Raceway for the Pocono Green 250 at 1 p.m. ET on FS1.

In an eventful race that saw 10 caution flags and numerous cars hitting the wall, Reddick took the lead for good with 16 laps to go and beat runner-up Allgaier by 2.1 seconds. Allgaier had pitted for four fresh tires with 28 laps to go and rallied from 11th in the latter stages. Earnhardt’s red, white and blue Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra wound up third – the best finish of his Xfinity Series career. Noah Gragson and Justin Haley completed the top five.

Michael Annett was sixth with Jeb Burton seventh and Ryan Sieg eighth. Austin Cindric and Brandon Jones completed the top 10.

Polesitter Christopher Bell led 33 of the first 90 circuits before a crash ended his day early.

TYLER REDDICK, No. 2 Tame the Beast Chevrolet (Race Winner): “Hats off to the guys for bringing a car that would allow me to be that aggressive and keep it off the wall. We had a two-week off period and instead of goofing off or going on vacation the guys worked really hard and showed off in practice. I’m just really proud of the effort of the guys. They did an unbelievable job. I realize the efforts and we have made massive gains. … I am just pumped. This place, I didn’t feel very good about it. I have just struggled really hard at getting good finishes here in the past. I just tried to focus on what I needed to do. It’s an honor for me to just be here. It’s an honor to jump on board for the 50th year (of Richard Childress Racing). To go out with some really good race cars, it’s a lot of things. It’s an honor and a privilege.”

RANDALL BURNETT, No. 2 Tame the Beast Chevrolet (Winning Crew Chief): “I think those two weeks off were really important to us. We had some stuff that we have been wanting to try. We were trying to make our cars better before going into the playoffs. We have had a lot of great ideas and tried some stuff. The guys at the shop built this car and did a beautiful job. We brought a really fast race car and unloaded really well. It’s credit to RCR and the people there who put their hands on it.”

RICHARD CHILDRESS, No. 2 Tame the Beast Chevrolet (Winning Car Owner): “(Reddick) did a great job. He has a talent and will be a superstar in NASCAR in the Cup division. And we want him to be at RCR doing it. That whole race team has done a wonderful job. I’m really proud of them.”

JUSTIN ALLGAIER, No. 7 Hellman’s Chevrolet (Runner-Up): “We just needed a little bit more speed. I didn’t know on that restart if we were going to be able to get through the field like we did – we were lucky there. Just disappointed we didn’t have the speed to run with Tyler. He was so good today, (and) so was the 00 (of Cole Custer) and the 20 (of Christopher Bell). Proud of the effort, and we made a lot out of a little.”

JEFFREY EARNHARDT, No. 18 iK9 Toyota (Third-Place Finisher): “I literally drove my guts out right there at the end – that’s all I had left in the tank. … It’s huge. Obviously, we wanted to win. When we signed this deal to run these races with Joe Gibbs Racing, my goal is to come out here and win races. I know we’ve got the equipment to be able to do it. We’ve just got to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. We showed that we can find strong even after overcoming adversity like we did: me stuffing it in the fence. I’m having the time of my life this year.”

Christopher Bell wins second straight NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Dover in the “Allied Steel Buildings 200,” collects extra $100,000 in Dash 4 Cash finale

DOVER, Del. (May 4, 2019) – Christopher Bell earned a double celebration in Sunoco Victory Lane on Saturday at Dover International Speedway.

The 24-year-old Oklahoma native not only won the “Allied Steel Buildings 200” NASCAR Xfinity Series Dash 4 Cash race, but also collected the $100,000 bonus for being the top finisher among the four eligible Dash 4 Cash drivers in the finale of the four-race series. Collect your bonus at usa best online casinos.

“It was a really good day,” said Bell, who won his second Dash 4 Cash bonus of the season. “You don’t get to race for that much money very often. I didn’t feel like we had a dominant race car and we still got the win.” Get your own bonus at www.choiceonlinecasino.com.

It was Bell’s 11th NASCAR Xfinity Series win of his career and second straight at the Monster Mile after his triumph last October.

Bell, driving the No. 20 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, beat Justin Allgaier to the checkered flag by 1.745 seconds, covering the 200 miles with an average speed of 110.159 mph in 1:48:56. Bell is second in the point standings, 23 points behind Tyler Reddick.

Cole Custer, who started from the pole position after turning a qualifying lap in 157.329 mph, controlled much of the action early, leading a race-high 155 laps before ending up fourth.

Bell grabbed the top spot after a Kaz Grala spin on the backstretch brought out the race’s third caution flag on Lap 155. Bell left pit road with the lead and survived two late restarts to grab his third win of the season.

“I knew if we got track position, we’d be able to get it done,” said Jason Ratcliff, Bell’s crew chief. “He was really patient and gave us good feedback. We keep learning every week. Winning’s not a problem. We just have to finish every week.”

“Those days where I need to finish fourth and fifth and end up finishing 35th — those are days I have to get better at,” Bell added. “We need top finishes instead of DNFs.”

Among the other Dash 4 Cash contenders, Reddick finished third, Chase Briscoe was fifth and Gray Gaulding was 20th, three laps down. There were five caution flags consuming 29 laps, and 13 drivers finished on the lead lap.

The May 3-5 NASCAR tripleheader weekend at Dover International Speedway concludes on Sunday with the “Gander RV 400” Monster Energy NASCA Cup Series race. Green flag is set for just after 2 p.m.

On Sunday, in addition to the special gold Monster trophies given to the race winner and free 1:64-scale Dover diecast cars to the first 15,000 guests, fans can also enjoy multiple free performances by the famous Harlem Globetrotters in the 8-acre FanZone, a free Charlie Daniels Band concert on the Xfinity Stage in Victory Plaza (Sunday), free appearances by country music star John Rich (Sunday), as well as Micro Wrestling Federation matches (Sunday), Del Rods Car Club car shows (Saturday and Sunday), a Winston Cup Mobile Museum display, on-site NASCAR and sports betting (Sunday) and much more.
