Allmen-RINGER: Road Course Ace A.J. Allmendinger Prevails at Pit Boss 250 at Circuit of The Americas

    • Kaulig Racing driver delivered a dominant performance, outpacing the field by 2.039 seconds to cap Saturday’s NASCAR at COTA doubleheader.
    • Tickets for Sunday’s EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas are on sale at NASCARatCOTA.com/Tickets.

AUSTIN, Texas (March 26, 2022) – A.J. Allmendinger was the class of the field in Saturday’s Pit Boss 250, holding off a hard-charging pack of drivers to take the checkered flag by 2.039 seconds. The donnybrook capped off an action-packed day of white-knuckled excitement at the 20-turn, 3.41-mile Circuit of The Americas (COTA).

“We’ve had a good start to the year when you look at the finishes, but we hadn’t really contended for the win,” Allmendinger said. “Last year, Kyle beat us down pretty good. This race is a tough race. It’s a long race. The track is slick. As we saw in the truck race, if you get a late caution, anything can happen.”

Allmendinger led a race-high 27 laps and battled most of the afternoon with NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) regular Ross Chastain en route to the victory. Chastain, who led three times for 14 laps, got spun by Landon Cassill with seven laps remaining and was relegated to a 17th-place finish.

“Ross was doing an amazing job,” Allmendinger said. “It was going to be tough to beat him. Once he got spun, I was just praying for no more yellows.”

COTA is the sixth different road course on which Allmendinger has won during his career. That streak includes seven Xfinity Series (NXS) wins and two NCS wins. The Los Gatos, Calif. native has finished fourth or better in 15 of 18 NXS road course races.

With the victory, Allmendinger moves to within one point of Noah Gragson in the point standings.

Austin Hill, who won at Watkins Glen in a Camping World Trucks Series (NCWTS) race last season, finished second in Saturday’s Pit Boss 250.

“It was a solid effort,” Hill said. “I’ve always felt like I can get around road courses. I felt like that last year at Watkins Glen. It gave us confidence coming here. It shows that we can run with A.J. We’ll go back and debrief and see where I can be better as a driver.”

After battling back from a speeding penalty earlier in the race, Cole Custer finished third. Gragson and Sam Mayer rounded out the top five finishers.

NASCAR at COTA’s tripleheader weekend culminates Sunday with the second running of the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix.

PARKER CHASE, No. 26 Bahnbrecker Toyota GR Supra, Sam Hunt Racing

    Finishing Position: 19th

Top-20 in your Xfinity debut at your home track, what did this mean to you?

“It’s always special racing at COTA with it being 45 minutes from my house. Every time I race here, no matter what it is, I always have a lot of people out here – friends and family. To make Xfinity Series debut with Toyota and Sam Hunt Racing here at COTA is pretty cool, we came home 19th but we had a lot more pace. I think our lap times were a lot of the times inside the top-five and top-10 in speed. It’s just rough out there. We started further back then we wanted to and it’s just hard to make up position on a road course, especially starting middle to back of the pack.”

COLE CUSTER, No. 07 Bucked Up Energy Drink Ford Mustang — Finished 3rd

“It was good to get out there and get those laps. I think I overdrove the car a lot of the day, so it was good to get in a rhythm. The track gets really hot and slick in the afternoon, so it is good to know that for the Cup car. I am pretty frustrated. I think we would have had a really good shot to win that race and I just made a stupid mistake and sped on pit road. I can’t thank everyone enough at Bucked Up and Ford Performance. Hopefully, we can have another good run tomorrow in our Cup Mustang.”

RILEY HERBST, No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang — Finished 26th

WHAT WERE YOU DEALING WITH AFTER THAT FIRST LAP SKIRMISH? “It just wasn’t a good day. Our toe was just off a little bit after that. It just wasn’t a good day by anyone, so we will just regroup and go on to Richmond.”

Ty Gibbs Wins Pole for Saturday’s Pit Boss 250; Sheldon Creed Tops Charts in XPEL 225 Qualifying

    • NASCAR’s youth movement was on full display during qualifying for Saturday’s Camping World Truck Series/Xfinity Series doubleheader at Circuit of The Americas as Ty Gibbs continues to hot streak in his Joe Gibbs Racing Supra and Sheldon Creed grabs the pole is his first truck series start of the 2022 season.
    • Tickets for Saturday’s doubleheader featuring the NASCAR Xfinity Series Pit Boss 250 and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series XPEL 225 are on sale at NASCARatCOTA.com/Tickets.

AUSTIN, Texas (March 25, 2022) – NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) rookie Ty Gibbs is trying to be the best person he can be, and – on the track, at least – he’s been pretty close to perfect this season. The 19-year-old Charlotte, North Carolina native powered his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to the pole during Pit Boss 250 qualifying at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) on FEVO Friday.

In five starts this season, Gibbs has already notched two wins. Friday, he added his first pole of the season with a blistering two-minute and 14.52-second lap in the same No. 54 Toyota Supra that Kyle Busch drove to victory in the inaugural Pit Boss 250 last year. Gibbs crossed the line a half-second faster than NASCAR Cup Series regular Ross Chastain, who will start on the front row in his TicketSmarter Chevrolet. A.J. Allmendinger, Josh Berry and Josh Bilicki round out the top five.

“I think we’re pretty close to what Kyle had last year,” Gibbs said after qualifying. “We just have to make some minor adjustments. The guys work so hard. I’ve got all the best guys. They work really hard, and we’ve got a good car.”

While Gibbs looks forward to challenging for his third win of the young season on Saturday, he said fans are in for a treat on and off the track at COTA.

“It’s cool to be here,” he said. “There’s roller coasters over there; People were ziplining up in turn one, which is pretty crazy too. There are just a lot of cool attractions. It’s one of those races that’s just fun. You’re not stressed out. You can take a look at the scenery and have a good time.”

CREED TAKES TOP SPOT IN XPEL 225 QUALIFYING

Despite eight Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) wins in 75 starts, Sheldon Creed, 24, has never started on the pole. That will all change on Saturday as the Alpine, Calif. native leads the field to green and around the 3.41-mile, 20-turn circuit in the XPEL 225.

“I’m really happy with how it’s driving,” Creed said of his No. 20 Wiley X Chevrolet. “We really haven’t changed a whole lot. I feel like – with the repave – there’s a lot more grip in some areas. I don’t feel like the tire fall off is as bad, at least for me. I feel like I got better after the second or third lap.”

Creed will start alongside Zane Smith on the front row when the NCWTS kicks off a Saturday doubleheader that also includes the NXS Pit Boss 250. Alex Bowman qualified third, Parker Kligerman fourth and Kyle Busch fifth.

    NASCAR Xfinity Series Quotes

AUSTIN, Texas (March 25, 2022) – Joe Gibbs Racing driver Ty Gibbs was made available to media prior to the Circuit of the Americas race this Friday:

TY GIBBS, No. 54 Interstate Batteries Toyota GR Supra, Joe Gibbs Racing

Can you talk about the qualifying lap?

“First off, we have a very favorite Interstate Batteries Toyota GR Supra. I’m excited about that. Chris (Gayle), my crew chief and Kyle Abrahims, my engineer, have worked very hard this year to prepare for this race. Last year, they had a good run, so it’s cool to be here and come and race at COTA. It’s one of the nicest facilities. I wish all of our racetracks were like this. It’s so awesome. The experience is so cool. Being here is awesome and a pleasure.”

What do you like most about COTA?

“The media center is so much nicer and it’s super cool. It’s one of the newer track, so you know with all of the newer tracks are going to have the updated facilities. It’s just a cool experience. There are roller coasters over there. I’m scared of heights, so I’m not doing that. There are people zip lining into turn one which is pretty crazy too. There is just a lot of cool attraction here. It’s really cool to be able to race here and to come here – it’s one of those races that are just fun and you are not stressed out. You are focused on your car. You can kind of look at the scenery and have a good time. It’s just fun to be here.”

How are you so good at this track in your first time out here?

“First of all, I want to give all glory to God and second of all, I’ve got Toyota. They provide our simulators. I’ve got go-karts. I was at the go-kart track yesterday and I made 94 laps at Go Pro. I just enjoy racing and the road course stuff is nice I think because it’s easier to watch film on it because you can kind of compare and translate film to braking markers. It’s a little easier. Ovals are so much, I think, of a finesse. You don’t have as much braking markers there. You’re not as focused on that. Road courses are fun. They come in and do something different and focus on just turning right and left and I have a good time, a good flow with it. It’s just been patient and having the right arc going into the corner.”

Is ‘Let’s Go’ your official catch phrase?

“I don’t know. So, here’s the thing – it was the let’s freaking go. I’m going to get in trouble, and I don’t want to cuss, so I just did let’s go – LG and now I comment under people’s posts LG, but people are LFG, and I don’t want to do that. That was a funny question.”

So, it’s the clean version of that phrase?

“Yeah. My grandma is watching me, and she will get after me, so I don’t want to do anything wrong. I’m already on thin ice.”

Why are you on thin ice?

“I need to fix my act up a little bit I think and more personally. I’m on thin ice with myself because I get very frustrated sometimes – we all do – but there are sometimes where I just need to fix myself and check. Think before I talk, stuff like that. Little stuff I’m learning as a human as I get older with being frustrated.”

    What is your biggest weakness?

“I think there is multiple weaknesses. Trying to perfect everything is always going to lead to weaknesses. Fixing my performance off track is going to be the biggest thing compared to on-track – just little things and who I’m being around and stuff like that. Just normal thing and trying to be the best person I can be is the biggest weaknesses right now. I’m just learning. On track, being patient as we saw. Patience is what I think is my biggest weakness, but I think it’s not a weakness because I’ve been patient. Just where I’m lacking is in that moment to be patient and not freak out for no reason.”

Did you take some notes on what Kyle Busch did from last year?

“For sure. I think we are pretty close to what Kyle (Busch) had. We just had to make some minor adjustments, just I think from my feel in the sim and stuff like that. The guys worked hard. The guys work so hard and me giving them credit and saying thank you is not enough. Thank you to them. There is no comparison there. Those guys worked their butts off. Chris (Gayle, crew chief) and Kyle (Abrahims, engineer) are the best guys and I’m super close to them. They work really hard, and we have a good car.”

    Notes of Interest:

Welcome Back: This weekend at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt and Joe Graf Jr. welcome back G-Coin as the primary partner of the team’s No. 08 Ford Mustang for Saturday afternoon’s Pit Boss 250.

COTA marks the fifth race of the 2022 Xfinity Series season and 10th race overall between 2021 and 2022 where G-Coin, a product that brings gold into the digital age, making it accessible and giving it true utility will be the primary partner.

About G-Coin: Unlike cryptocurrencies, G-Coin is a digital title to a real asset: 1 G-Coin token equals 1 gram of Responsible GoldTM.

G-Coin combines the best qualities of traditional gold – stability, security, value, confidence, and social status – with the benefits of digital innovation, allowing users to easily save, send, and spend gold.

Tech-savvy investors keen to avoid cryptocurrency volatility, or physical storage burden and costs, are now able to purchase G-Coin digital gold tokens. G-Coin tokens can be purchased in increments of 0.01gram, giving individual investors better access to the gold market and the ability to use gold for day-to-day purchases.

G-Coin Wallets give users the freedom to send and receive value instantly, securely, and at no cost from the convenience of your mobile phone.

G-Coin Tip of the Week: Responsible Gold is institutional grade 99.99% pure gold that has been responsibly sourced.

Responsible Gold can be traced back to its origin giving the owner or G-Coin token holder knowledge that it has been responsibly mined and sourced throughout the supply chain.

Same Day Settlements With MoneyGram: G-Coin customers with Tier 3 access can use cash to buy or sell G-Coin tokens at participating MoneyGram locations.

To place a buy or sell order using cash, Tier 3 customers need to select the ‘MoneyGram’ option from ‘Pay With’ that appears on the buy | sell screen. Once the order is placed, customers will receive an email with detailed instructions to follow at participating MoneyGram locations.

For buy orders, customers will have 24 hours to make the payment in cash, which is when the balance on the G-Coin wallet is updated. Buy orders expire after 24 hours so customers will need to place a new order after that time.

For sell orders, customers are responsible for collecting the proceeds of the sale in cash at participating MoneyGram locations. The G-Coin balance will be updated when the sell order has been placed, which is irreversible.

Number Swap: For the sixth NASCAR Xfinity Series race of the season, Joe Graf Jr. will drive the No. 08 Ford Mustang instead of his traditional No. 07 Ford Mustang for SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt.

Graf will retain most of his same No. 07 team with the number swap for the Pit Boss 250.

Settling In: COTA marks the sixth race that the SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt (SSGLRwJL) team embraces their manufacturer switch from Chevrolet to Ford while incorporating its technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing.

SHR will supply the organization with race cars while Roush Yates Engines will provide the legendary Ford horsepower.

In addition to providing race cars to SSGLRwJL, SHR will also provide technical support for the entire 33-race season.

Additionally, Graf will have NASCAR Cup Series and Stewart-Haas Racing drivers Cole Custer and Chase Briscoe as teammates for select events throughout the 2022 season, including this weekend at COTA.

Don’t Forget The New Partner Too: SS GreenLight Racing has added Jeff Lefcourt as a new co-owner of the Mooresville, N.C.-based team, as well as director of business development for the organization.

Lefcourt, a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. joins SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt (SSGLRwJL) with a long history of racing endeavors including owning Bethel (N.Y.) Motor Speedway in upstate New York, a current-NASCAR sanctioned race track.

The noted philanthropist, entrepreneur and real estate developer has deep ties to grassroots racing and was instrumental in helping secure the Stewart-Haas Racing alliance with SSGLRwJL in 2022.

Joe Graf Jr. Xfinity Series Circuit of the Americas Starts: Joe Graf Jr. will make his first NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Circuit of the Americas in Saturday afternoon’s Pit Boss 250.

Joe Graf Jr. Xfinity Series Road Course Nuggets: At NASCAR Xfinity Series tracks classified as a road course, Graf has competed in eight road course races with an average starting position of 26.5 and an average result of 25.0.

Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway | Nalley Cars 250 Race Recap: In the most recent NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway, Graf contended for a top-10 finish aboard the No. 07 Gtechniq Ford Mustang, but after contact from another competitor while running in the top-10 damaged the race car, Graf and the SSGLRwJL team salvaged a 23rd place finish.

School Back In Session: While juggling a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule with SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt, college life has resumed for Joe Graf Jr.

With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Graf Jr. has resorted to online classes at the University of New York, where he is pursuing a degree in business, media and sports management.

Sneaker Mania: Along with the adrenaline of the Motorsports competition, Joe Graf Jr. also has a vogue for hype sneakers. In his current collection, he owns and wears at least 90 limited edition sneakers – and his collection continues to grow every month.

Custer is set to make his 107th career NASCAR Xfinity Series start and second at Circuit of the Americas. Last year in the series’ inaugural race, he finished seventh after starting third for Rick Ware Racing.

Earlier this year, Custer delivered SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt their first career Xfinity Series victory at Auto Club (Calif.) Speedway in Fontana, Calif.

On Circuit of the Americas: “I am very optimistic about heading to Circuit of the Americas this weekend. Obviously, the weather forecast looks a lot different than it did last year, but I have spent the past several weeks focused on improving my road course craft and I feel like I have made some huge gains.

“Hopefully the work in the simulator translates to good lap times with our No. 08 G-Coin Ford Mustang this weekend.”

On G-Coin Return: “I am thrilled to continue and build on this unique partnership in 2022. G-Coin is building an amazing ecosystem and we believe that the NASCAR community will continue to offer the opportunity to put G-Coin on the global map.

“I’m hoping we can strike some gold of our own with our No. 08 Ford Mustang with some strong finishes on the track in 2022.”

On Opening Races of 2022: “I know the results may not show a whole lot, but we have some good speed with our SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt race cars. We are still learning in our new relationship with Ford Performance, Stewart-Haas Racing and Roush Yates Engines.

“It wasn’t going to come magically overnight that we were going from mid-pack to contending for wins, but we are making progress. If we can continue to inch our way forward in the weeks and months ahead, I am hoping by summer we can showcase what this team is capable of on a consistent weekly basis.”

    NASCAR Xfinity Series Overview

    • Event: Pit Boss 250 (Round 6 of 33)
    • Date: Saturday, March 26
    • Location: Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas
    • Layout: 3.426-mile, 20-turn road course
    • Time/TV/Radio: 4:30 p.m. EDT on FS1/PRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio

    Riley Herbst Notes of Interest

    • Riley Herbst and the No. 98 Monster Energy team are ready to go deep in the heart of Texas during Saturday’s Pit Boss 250 at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin. The capital city plays host to NASCAR for a second straight year, with the Xfinity Series serving as the second race on the track’s triple-header bill, with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Cup Series also competing on the 3.426-mile, 20-turn road course. The outcome of this year’s race weekend will already be better than last year’s, as the forecast calls for sunshine and temperatures in the 80s. Rain and cool weather dampened last year’s inaugural race weekend at COTA, forcing drivers to tip-toe around the technical circuit.

    • In last year’s Pit Boss 250, Herbst overcame two spins to finish 16th. In fact, he started the 46-lap race in 29th after a wet qualifying session forced drivers to take a delicate approach to what ordinarily would be a smash-mouth ride around the track. Despite the low grid position, Herbst cracked the top-20 by just the fourth tour of the circuit and when another racecar stalled on the track, crew chief Richard Boswell quickly made the call to bring Herbst to pit road before the caution came out on lap 12. The savvy strategy propelled Herbst to finish 11th in the first stage, and it had him fifth for the start of the second stage. Unfortunately, a spin after contact with another car sent Herbst to the back of the pack for the remainder of the stage. After starting 23rd for the final stage, Herbst rallied to 13th before contact with another car on lap 43 spun him once more. Herbst drove aggressively in the waning laps, but time ran out and he had to settle for 16th.

    • Herbst has proven proficient at battling back, and this was on recent display last Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Herbst and the No. 98 Monster Energy team showed their speed and strength after going from two laps down to finish fourth at the 1.54-mile oval. Tire pressure issues sent the team to pit road just before the green flag. Despite having to start at the rear, Herbst worked his way up 13th by the conclusion of the first stage and into the top-10 just a few laps into the second stage. Rising water temperatures in the second stage forced the team to give up their top-10 spot to pit under green and check the engine. Herbst returned to the field two laps down in 38th. All was not lost, however, as Boswell employed a smart strategy to get Herbst back onto the lead lap with less than 50 laps remaining. After successfully avoiding a wreck with 10 laps to go, Herbst restarted in sixth, and as the race went into double overtime, Herbst earned his second top-five of the season.

    • Saturday’s race at COTA is the first of six road-course races for the Xfinity Series in 2022. Herbst comes into the Pit Boss 250 with 11 career road-course starts. He has finished among the top-10 three times with a best finish of seventh, earned twice – August 2020 on the Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway road course and July 2021 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

    • The Pit Boss 250 will mark Herbst’s 82nd career Xfinity Series start. His resume includes 11 top-fives and 37 top-10s. His best career finish is second, earned twice – February 2020 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, and July 2020 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta.

Riley Herbst, Driver of the No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang

You’re coming off a fourth-place finish last Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway – your second top-five of the season and your third top-10. Does that give you and the team some momentum as you go into a completely different discipline this weekend with a road-course race at COTA?

“It boosts your confidence, for sure. In the back of your mind, though, you still know that this is a completely different style of racing, so you have to continue to put in the work. We struggled during the race last week, there’s no doubt about that. The No. 98 Monster Energy team is a top-five team every week, and while we made it there in the end, we made it pretty hard on ourselves. We’ll learn from that experience, though, and move on.”

What are your expectations for this weekend at COTA?

“I’m just looking forward to getting back down to Austin. It’s such a cool town. Even with the bad weather we had last year, they still packed that place with fans. Looking forward to seeing a good crowd cheer on all three series this weekend and just looking forward to getting back to road racing. It’s going to be so much fun. COTA is so difficult, but they did repave some of the sections so, hopefully, that gives us more grip in these big, heavy stock cars. We’ll be battling all 20 turns this weekend.”

    Driver Quotes

“I am really looking forward to COTA this weekend. I put a lot of effort in the last few years to be better on roadcourses and hopefully I can show that this weekend. We had great road course runs going last year so if I can minimize mistakes on track, I know we can contend for the win at the end.” – Sam Mayer

“COTA is such a fun and unique road course. We were able to have a solid race here last year and I see no reason why we can’t back that up again with our BRANDT Chevrolet. It’s going to be a special weekend overall for BRANDT with Miguel (Paludo) coming back in the (No.) 88. I’m really looking forward to seeing what we both can do.” – Justin Allgaier

“COTA is a great track and I am excited to get down there this weekend. I don’t have much experience on road courses but I have been putting in the time at the sim with this PUBG MOBILE group and with Josh Wise. This weekend we will see how much I have grown in these Xfinity Series cars and hopefully we have a shot to go for it at the end.” – Josh Berry

“COTA did not treat us well last year but we have had plenty of speed this year and now we’re going to a road course which fits my driving style. I have a lot of fun at these places and I know Luke (Lambert, crew chief) and this No. 9 Bass Pro Shops/TrueTimber/Black Rifle Coffee team will give me a fast car so that we can compete for another win.” – Noah Gragson

“It is very special to me to get this opportunity to return to JR Motorsports and get behind the wheel of this No. 88 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet. I can’t thank BRANDT and JRM enough for this opportunity and I’m ready to get back out on the track and contend for the win on Saturday, especially with my BRANDT teammate Justin (Allgaier).“ – Miguel Paludo

  • NASCAR Xfinity Series Rookie Ty Gibbs Previews Expectations Ahead of the Pit Boss 250

NASCAR Xfinity Series Rookie Ty Gibbs Previews Expectations Ahead of the Pit Boss 250

    • With two wins already under his belt this season – Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway – the 19-year-old grandson of team owner Joe Gibbs looks to leave his mark on Circuit of The Americas in his debut at the 3.41-mile Austin circuit.
    • Tickets for Saturday’s doubleheader featuring the NASCAR Xfinity Series Pit Boss 250 and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series XPEL 225 are on sale at NASCARatCOTA.com/Tickets.

AUSTIN, Texas (March 22, 2022) – NASCAR driver Ty Gibbs might be in his first full-time Xfinity Series (NXS) season, but the 19-year-old grandson of NASCAR team owner and NFL legend Joe Gibbs has already compiled a resume that ranks him among the favorites to win when the penultimate series takes on Circuit of The Americas (COTA) for the Pit Boss 250 on Saturday.

While he’s made 23 starts in his young career (earning six victories in the process), Gibbs has yet to race at COTA outside of time on the simulator.

“The surface is a little bit old in some spots, and they’ve repaved some spots, so it’s going to be fun to try to manage it,” Gibbs said. “You’re going to have a lot of grip in a couple of corners and way less grip in the other corners… I feel like the track is very technical in its own way, so kind of trying to find the flow for it, it’s going to be a fun time.”

While most up-and-coming racers learn the ropes on oval tracks, Gibbs cut his teeth racing road courses, which he feels may give him an advantage in his inaugural visit to the 20-turn, 3.41-mile circuit.

“I kind of grew racing go-karts on road courses. I feel like, honestly, I spend more time on road courses than I do on ovals. It’s kind of funny to say that. I feel like being very disciplined, that really helps on road courses,” he said. “Hitting brake markers and trying not to lock the tires up – just being very disciplined, I think that helps.”

Gibbs exhibited his road course prowess by winning two of the seven road course events on the 2021 NXS schedule. The first came in his NXS debut on the Daytona road course in February, and then he added another at Watkins Glen. He tied Kyle Busch and AJ Allmendinger for the most road course wins on the season, and he did it in just five starts. He also added a third-place finish at Mid-Ohio.

As for his expectations for the weekend, the goal is simple.

“For me, I feel like I’m always chasing trophies,” he said. “I feel like each race (the goal) is the same going into it. I want to win all of them.”
