    Driver Quotes

“The last two seasons at Las Vegas, our Pilot Flying J Chevrolet has been solid. We led eight laps in the fall there in our last start and were in contention. We’ve had some bum luck so far this season, getting caught in a crash at Daytona, but Mike Bumgarner and the team are giving me great Camaros every week and we’re starting to build some momentum. I always look forward to the West Coast swing.” – Michael Annett

“This season has definitely not gotten off to the start our No. 7 team wanted, but Las Vegas is the perfect place for us to turn things around. Our BRANDT Professional Agriculture Camaro has a history of showing a lot of speed there and it’s just a track that I really enjoy racing on. Last year we were able to pick up a stage win and lead some laps and I’m confident that we can go there and have success this weekend.” – Justin Allgaier

“I’m really looking forward to getting to Las Vegas this weekend with this FilterTime team. It felt good getting that first mile-and-a-half race under my belt last weekend in Homestead and hopefully some of the things we learned there can transfer over to Vegas. There are still things that we can work on and I feel really confident that we will continue to build and get better and have a strong run on Saturday.” – Josh Berry

“We’ve had really fast race cars this year but we unfortunately don’t have the finishes to show for it. We’ve had a car to win each week, we just need to be able to put a complete race together. There’s no better time for that than this weekend when I return back home to Las Vegas. Hopefully we can put this Bass Pro Shops/TrueTimber/Black Rifle Coffee Camaro back into Victory Lane to turn our season around.” – Noah Gragson

  • DOGECOIN BETS WITH SPRINGRATES ON PARSONS IN VEGAS

DOGECOIN BETS WITH SPRINGRATES ON PARSONS IN VEGAS

Mooresville, N.C. (March 2nd, 2021) – Stefan Parsons and BJ McLeod Motorsports (BJMM) announce today that Dogecoin, the cryptocurrency company, will ride along with primary sponsor Springrates and driver Stefan Parsons at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) Alsco Uniforms 300.

Sean Taylor, founder and CEO of Springrates immediately saw a significant and relevant opportunity to bring back Dogecoin in NASCAR, as popularity and traction has increased on social media platforms through significant figures positively acknowledging cryptocurrency, such as Elon Musk.

“Lately, I have been obsessed with learning more about blockchain and the future of decentralized currency. I had the idea of including Dogecoin on the car for this race while chatting with Stefan following the season opener in Daytona,” said Taylor. “It was ironic because at the time, I wasn’t aware his dad’s team previously ran the Dogecoin car in 2014. Maybe it was fate.”

Fate it was. Although this will be the cryptocurrency’s debut in the NXS, it will not be the first time that Dogecoin has adorned a race car in NASCAR. In 2014, an online Dogecoin community on Reddit brought attention to the lack of sponsorship for Josh Wise, who at the time drove for Phil Parsons Racing then in the No. 98 Sprint Cup Series. Within a week, over 55K in funds were produced for Wise to be sponsored by Dogecoin for the Aaron’s 499 race in Talladega. After earning his second-best finish in the Dogecoin car, Wise announced that if he was able to win the Sprint Showdown or win the fan vote, requiring him to defeat Danica Patrick, he would run the ‘Moonrocket’ car for free at the 2014 All-Star Race. After Wise won the fan vote and was in the All-Star Race, it was clear that the Dogecoin community has a NASCAR interest.

Dogecoin has such a great community and there is so much interest surrounding it. I’m drawn to it because it’s affordable, gaining a lot of traction, and has endless potential. Plus, who doesn’t love memes?” Taylor added.

“Having the opportunity to run a scheme that has an incredible story from my Dad’s race team is something I am so proud to do. When Josh ran the Dogecoin car in 2014, I was much younger and remember being so excited at the fact that the Dogecoin community and Reddit came together to make it happen. At the time, I also wished it were me in the seat. So, to have the chance for Dogecoin to ride along with Sean and me in Las Vegas is a dream come true,” Parsons added.

In 17 starts in the NXS, Parsons has an average start of 26.9 and an average finish of 22. His best finish of the 2021 season was at Daytona International Speedway, where he finished in the 13th position after racing his way up and avoiding on-track incidents.

Coverage of the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube begins Saturday, March 6th at 4:00 p.m. ET. Live coverage will be on FS1, Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM. Race time, 4:30p.m. ET.

  • Myatt Snider Gets First Career Win in Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway

Myatt Snider Gets First Career Win in Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway

HOMESTEAD, Fla (February 27, 2021) – Myatt Snider got his first NASCAR Xfinity Series victory.

Noah Gragson got another heartache at Homestead.

With perfect execution from the inside lane on his second chance at an overtime restart, Snider held off charging Tyler Reddick to win Saturday’s Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

For his third straight race at the 1.5-mile track, Gragson was close enough to taste victory, but it was his ill-fated crash with just over two laps left in regulation that set up overtime and Snider’s victory.

On the first attempt at extra laps, Snider spun his tires, and Reddick grabbed the lead before AJ Allmendinger spun toward the infield grass in Turn 1 to cause the eighth and final caution.

In the second overtime, Reddick returned the favor, and Snider pulled clear in the bottom lane. With a determined charge on the final lap, Reddick gained ground, but he was .085 seconds in arrears when Snider crossed the finish line in the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet.

“Yeah, I guess I learned my lesson on that first restart, ‘cause I spun the wheels,” said Snider, who won in his 36th start in the series. “Then I saw Tyler spin the wheels on the next one, and I knew I might have a chance.

“Just a shout-out to all these RCR guys, (sponsor) Taxslayer, all these people that supported me over the years. It’s been a rough journey, but we’re here with a win, and I can’t complain.”

Reddick, who drives full-time for RCR in the NASCAR Cup Series, was moonlighting with RSS Racing on Saturday, making his first Xfinity start since winning his second straight series title at Homestead in 2019. The end result didn’t last long, however, as the No. 23 was disqualified during post-race inspection for failing rear heights.

Gragson was just over two laps away from a redemptive victory when the No. 13 Ford of David Starr — the last driver on the lead lap — blew a right front tire and shot up the track into the outside wall and right into Gragson’s path.

Gragson, who led 83 and 81 laps in last year’s two Homestead races but failed to win either, couldn’t avoid the collision that destroyed his No. 9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet. At the time, Gragson led second-place Reddick by more than eight seconds.

“What are you going to do,” Gragson said after a visit to the infield care center. “We dominated the last three races here, including this one, and have stuff like that (happen). We were saving fuel. I was half-throttle the last 30 laps, and we were still pulling away.”

The first stage of the race was eventful—but not primarily for Stefan Parsons spin in Turn 4 on Lap 26 or for Daniel Hemric missing his pit stall under the resulting caution and knocking his tire carrier to the pavement.

What Stage 1 demonstrated with jarring clarity was the enormous value of fresh tires on the abrasive asphalt surface. Allmendinger restarted 25th on fresh tires with 10 laps left in the stage and grabbed the lead from Kaulig Racing teammate Justin Haley eight laps later.

Allmendinger won the stage with Haley second after restarting 20th and moving into the lead on Lap 33 before surrendering the top spot to his teammate. Reigning series champion Cindric, on the other hand, stayed out during the caution, restarted in the lead on old tires and fell to 14th by the end of the 10-lap run.

Stage 2 was the mirror image of Stage 1. When fluid from Parsons’ car necessitated the third caution of the race on Lap 68, drivers who had stayed out under the Lap 26 caution to save a set of tires came to pit road—Cindric among them.

Allmendinger led the field to the restart with six laps left in the second stage. Cindric restarted 22nd, and in less than three laps took the lead on the way to a stage win and a Playoff point.

Pit stops followed at the end of the stage, on Lap 83, leaving almost all drivers on equal rubber for the final run, with two sets of sticker tires left in the pits. But in terms of track position, the exchange favored those who had pitted late in Stage 2 and charged to the front.

First off pit road during the fourth caution, Cindric led the field to green on Lap 89. But neither Cindric nor Allmendinger was a major player in the overtime. As a result of Reddick’s disqualification, Brandon Jones was second, followed by Hemric, Jeb Burton and Cindric. Haley, Brett Moffitt, Ryan Sieg, Jeremy Clements and Josh Berry completed the top 10.

Xfinity stalwarts Harrison Burton and Justin Allgaier were the first two drivers out of the race, Burton with and engine failure and Allgaier after contact with the Ford of Riley Herbst on Lap 98.

The track is set to host the NASCAR Cup Series Dixie Vodka 400 tomorrow (Sunday, Feb. 28, 3:30 pm ET, FOX/MRN-Sirius XM Channel 90). Denny Hamlin starts on the Busch Pole and will vie for his fourth victory at Homestead-Miami Speedway, which would be a record. He currently is tied with Greg Biffle and Tony Stewart with three wins each.

Joey Logano starts second, followed by Christopher Bell, last week’s winner on the DAYTONA Road Course, Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch. Sixth will be DAYTONA 500 Champion Michael McDowell, followed by Brad Keselowski, Ryan Preece, Martin Truex, Jr., and Cole Custer will complete the top-10. Chase Elliott, the reigning NASCAR Cup Series Champion, rolls off 11th.

Two local football stars will have prominent roles in the race, the third of the 2021 NASCAR season.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will serve as the virtual Grand Marshal for the race and utter the most famous words in motorsports, “Drivers, Start Your Engines!” Miami native and former University of Miami Hurricane and Super Bowl-winning linebacker Jonathan Vilma will kick off Sunday’s race, as he waves the green flag from high atop the start/finish line in the starter’s stand.

Homestead-Miami Speedway will host a limited number of fans for the event. Fans attending can learn all safety protocol guidelines by visiting www.HomesteadMiamiSpeedway.com or calling 866-409-RACE (7223).

    Finish: 5th
    Status: Running
    Laps Completed: 179/179
    Laps Led: 63
Point Standings (ahead of second): 1st (+29)

    Notes:

    • Austin Cindric led the most laps on the way to scoring a fifth-place finish in the Contender Boats 250 Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The driver of the No. 22 PPG Ford Mustang has top-10 finishes in all five starts at the 1.5-mile speedway. Cindric also won Stage 2, his second stage victory in three races this season. He owns a 29-point lead in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings over second-place Myatt Snider
    • Cindric started from the pole position after the starting lineup was set per NASCAR rule book. He led the first 30 laps, building up a five-second advantage until a caution on lap 27 slowed the pace. Crew chief Brian Wilson elected to keep Cindric on the track during the yellow, opting to save a set of tires for later in the race. Cindric took the green flag as the leader but couldn’t overcome the disadvantage to the cars with fresher tires. He was credited with a 14th-place finished when Stage 1 ended on lap 40 and pitted during the stage caution for four tires, fuel and lined up 13th when the race went green on lap 47.
    • In Stage 2, Cindric raced his way back inside the top-10. He was sixth at the time of the third caution on lap 69. The PPG Ford Mustang lost rear grip during a long run and Wilson called his driver to pit road one lap later for four tires, fuel, and adjustments. Cindric restarted 22nd on lap 74 but quickly stormed his way through the field taking full advantage of his fresh tires. He grabbed the lead on lap 77 and easily won the segment, his second stage win of the season. Wilson made the call to pit for four tires during the stage caution and Cindric restarted second when the race went green on lap 87.
    • He grabbed the lead on the restart and led the next 13 laps before another caution set up a round of pit stops among the leaders. Cindric restarted fourth and muscled his way into the lead on lap 102. He remained the leader through the sixth caution on lap 115 but couldn’t get back to the front. Cindric was running sixth with two laps to go when a caution involving leader Noah Gragson pushed the race into NASCAR Overtime. Cindric and the other leaders pitted for tires on lap 168 and Cindric lined up fourth when the race went green on lap 172 but another spin moments after green flag waved forced another restart on lap 177. Cindric was shuffled to the sixth position during the final dash to the checkered flag. Post tech, Cindric was credited with fifth-place to capture his third consecutive top-five finish of the 2021 season.
    • The NASCAR Xfinity Series is back in action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday, March 6, for the Alsco Uniforms 300. Live coverage will begin at 4:30 p.m. ET on FS1. PRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.

Quote: “I feel like we probably deserved to finish in the top-five and maybe if we made some different decisions there on the choose (restart lineup), who knows, maybe we would have given ourselves a better shot to win the race with our PPG Ford Mustang. I think we did a pretty good job on strategy. All in all, it was an okay day. We definitely learned a lot and we tried to make a short-run car into a long-run car and we probably just hurt ourselves when the sun went down.”

  • Brett Moffitt Fights for an Eighth Place Finish After a Busy Day for the No.02 Chevy

Brett Moffitt Fights for an Eighth Place Finish After a Busy Day for the No.02 Chevy

Brett Moffitt and the No.02 Our Motorsports Chevrolet started from the 6th position Saturday in the Contender Boats 250 at Homestead Miami Speedway and brought home an eighth-place finish after leading laps and having top-3 speed all race. The day overall was an up and down day for the team, but the common theme throughout the day was the speed of the Our Motorsports Chevy before misfortune hit with less than ten laps to go.

In the first stage of the race, Moffitt once again flexed the strength of the 2021 Our Motorsports program, picking up several spots right after the drop of the green flag. Moffitt fought off several NASCAR Xfinity Series championship contenders, running second most of the stage. A late-stage caution showed mixed pit strategies, with the No.02 Chevy team deciding to stay out, neglecting to take tires, saving them for later in the race. Unfortunately, although the strategy was a long play, the No.02 team lost spots in the closing laps of the stage, finishing the stage in 16th. The team pit for a small adjustment, four tires, and fuel at the end of the stage.

Stage two saw Moffit working his way up after restarting 15th. A caution about halfway through the stage shuffled up pit strategies once again, and the No.02 team again decided to save tires for late-race scenarios. Moffitt was fighting a loose condition on his No.02 Chevy, and finished the stage in 12th, before pitting for adjustments, tires, and fuel.

Final stage: Moffitt and the No.02 team started 15th and drove up into the top-10 in just two laps. A caution came out with 58 laps to go and the Our team bolted on four fresh Goodyear Racing tires and took fuel. They were one of the only teams to pit under that caution. With 52 laps left, the green came back out, and Moffit restarted 19th and it only took Brett and the No.02 Chevy two laps to pick up eleven spots. With just less than 40 laps to go, Moffitt took the lead. The No.02 eventually fell back to second but pulled back within just a second of the leader with 10 to go. Unfortunately, lap traffic created an obstacle for Brett and contact with the wall forced the Our Motorsports team to pit with a right-rear tire flat. The team found themselves back in 20th with six to go, and two green, white, checkered finishes allowed the team to pit for tires and fuel and fight back for an eighth-place result.

    Driver Brett Moffit

“Once again, the Our Motorsports team gave us a piece to contend for the win. We had a really strong day with pace, and we did all we could with a loose racecar. I’m really thankful as always for this opportunity with Chris Our and the opportunity to work with Joe Williams and all of the great people that work here. If we keep bringing cars like this to the racetrack, I know we’ll get a win very soon and I can’t wait for that moment.”

    Tune in:

The NASCAR Xfinity Series and the Our Motorsports team are headed west next week to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Alsco Uniforms 300. Fans can catch the action on FS1, MRN/Sirius XM NASCAR, and other local radio affiliates at 4:30pm and by following Our Motorsports on social media.

“Wow! What a win! I guess I learned my lesson on that first restart. I spun the wheels, and then I saw Tyler Reddick spin the wheels on the second restart and I knew I might have a chance. One thing I’ve always noticed about myself is that I’m always better when I have a rabbit to chase. I knew that if I could just get as much power as I could and lay out ahead of everyone else I would have a pretty good chance, and with Tyler restarting the race he had a better chance of spinning the tires himself. Tyler is tough to beat because he has a lot of experience as a NASCAR Cup Series driver. But luckily, we did it. We slayed it! I have to thank all of these RCR guys, TaxSlayer and everyone who has helped me my entire career. It’s been a rough journey but we’re leaving here with a win and I can’t complain. The first thing I am going to do is celebrate with my team. These guys have such experience and they have guided me so much. This win puts us in a really good position for the rest of the year.” – Myatt Snider

    TOYOTA QUOTES

BRANDON JONES, No. 19 Toyota Racing Toyota Supra, Joe Gibbs Racing
    Finishing Position: 3rd

You battled all night and ended up with a third-place finish. How was your run?

“Compared to last year, I think this is already a way better start to our year. I know we’ve had some ups and downs, but our performance is really close. For everyone at Toyota, they did a lot for us today to get our Supra up front. Menards, WileyX, they do a lot for us. I’m looking forward to the next couple of races that we have coming up because this was a pretty big adjustment I felt like today of what we could put together. Just fought a couple of things there at the end and not getting where we thought we were going to be on the restart. All-in-all, pretty solid day. Third is good. We will take the points and try to push for a win.”

Can you describe how the race played out for you?

“Back in the heat for sure. I’m sure these guys are probably struggling a bit, but all in all this was a really good day for Toyota. Our Supra maybe wasn’t the best to win the race. It was probably the best-case scenario at the end there to have what we did – to have that lane choice. Maybe I should have gone to the top in (turns) one and two, but it came down to the last two races almost having a shot to win it and it came down to just one more lap. Proud of my guys. We have a championship quality team this year and looking forward to the rest.”

DANIEL HEMRIC, No. 18 Poppy Bank Toyota Supra, Joe Gibbs Racing
    Finishing Position: 4th

Can you describe the end of that race from your vantage point and what were the restarts like during the race?

“It was a saving grace for everyone on this Poppy Bank Toyota Supra. We had a really good short run car, but not a very good car after 12 to 15 laps. We thought that with experience and such that we could overcome it to be better than we were, but we just struggled. I was happy to see those short runs. I felt like our first launch on the first green-white-checkered was better. I think we were going to lineup to have a run for the lead down the backstretch and the caution flew and I just got boxed in on the second one. Thought we had the top rolling, but it didn’t work out. Proud of everybody on this Toyota Supra team. I felt like a moron there hitting the pit crew guys. I’ve come to pit road many times now and turned in, first time with these cars, turned into the box and had so much front brake that I couldn’t even think about stoppping. At that point you’re just hoping that you minimize the damage. Glad to see those guys are okay. They sat one stop out and jumped right back in and never missed a beat. Thanks to those guys, hats off the them. Have to do better, have to be better.”

You a lot happening, from your pit crew member getting hurt. How do you rebound from that to bring it home fourth?

“You just have to stay resiliant. First off, I’m so sorry. Those are Denny’s (Hamlin) guys for tomorrow and I could hear Chris Gabehart their crew chief for tomorrow saying take care of his guys. I did not do that today. It was my first time coming down pit road in these cars and I fully underestimated how much front brake I had. Completely on me. I’ve got to be better than that. Thanks you so much to these guys. Everyone on this Poppy Bank Toyota Supra. They did a great job of keeping me in it. I kept asking how everybody was doing and if everybody was fine and they were just on me to keep my head in the game and keep after it. We had a really good short run car, not very good after 10 laps. We’ve got to go to work. Now we have a baseline for a package, but proud of what we able to come back and do. Again, so sorry to those guys. I look forward to being better myself and making this race team better.”

    FORD FINISHING RESULTS:
    6th – Austin Cindric
    9th – Ryan Sieg
    12th – Riley Herbst

    FORD PERFORMANCE QUOTES

AUSTIN CINDRIC, No. 22 PPG Ford Mustang (Finished 6th)

“I feel like we probably deserved to be a top-five car and maybe if we made some different decisions there on the choose, who knows, we maybe would have given ourselves a better shot to win the race in our PPG Ford Mustang. At the same time, I think we did a pretty good job on strategy. All in all, it was an okay day. We definitely learned a lot and we tried to make a short-run car into a long-run car and we probably just hurt ourselves for when the sun went down. Lesson learned there and definitely some good info there moving forward in the season.”

WERE YOU MISSING SOMETHING ON THE LONG RUN? “Yeah, we weren’t great up until about lap 40 and then I could maintain running the wall. It was just something we have fought here in the past and we were unable to find the right knob to turn for it.”

RILEY HERBST, No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang (Finished 12th)

“For sure, I think the first two stages we were just biding time because we had to start so deep in the field. Then at the start of Stage 3, we had good track position but the 7 just came across our nose and we got damage and had to go all the way back in the field again. We made our way back up to 12th. It kind of sucks but we will go to Vegas now.”

  • Brett Moffitt And the No.02 Our Motorsports Chevy Look To Continue Strong Start to Season at Homestead-Miami

Brett Moffitt And the No.02 Our Motorsports Chevy Look To Continue Strong Start to Season at Homestead-Miami

Brett Moffitt and the No.02 Our Motorsports Chevy will roll off from the sixth starting position this Saturday in the Contender Boats 250 at Homestead Miami Speedway. This will mark Moffitt’s second start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Homestead-Miami. The team heads into the week in sixth in the NASCAR Xfinity owners’ points standings.

    Looking back at last week:

Last Saturday, Brett Moffitt and the Quartz Hill Records / Nate Barnes-sponsored team started from the pole at the Daytona International Speedway road course. Moffitt held strong during stage one, contending in the top-3 for most of the stage, but several left-front lockups eventually caught up with the No.02 team, causing damage to the sway bar arm during the final stage. Moffitt was still able to fight for a top-10 with his wounded racecar, finishing just short of it, in 11th place.

    In his words:

    Driver Brett Moffit

“I really enjoy racing at Homestead. We had a decent car there last year and got caught up in a wreck early-on so I’m really looking forward to going back and our first mile and a half of the season to see where we stand. The last few weeks at Daytona on the oval and road course have been wildcard races and we’ve come out of them in a great position. Hopefully we can continue that success into this weekend.”

Past Results at the Daytona Road Course for Our Motorsports:

Last year, Moffit piloted the No.02 at Homestead Miami Speedway. The team earned a 13th, place starting position, but was ultimately caught up in an incident while passing a lap car early into the race and finished 35th.

    Tune in:

The NASCAR Xfinity Series and Our Motorsports are headed back to Florida this weekend for the Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Fans can catch the action on FS1, MRN/Sirius XM NASCAR, and other local radio affiliates at 4:30pm and by following Our Motorsports on social media.
