ALMIROLA WINS THIRD RACE OF THE SEASON, PUTS 20 TEAM IN OWNER CHAMPIONSHIP 4 BATTLE
Chandler Smith comes just short of first Xfinity Series Championship 4 berth

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (November 2, 2024) – Aric Almirola completed the season sweep at Martinsville Speedway – winning his third race of the season, in just his 13th start, to clinch a spot in the owner Championship 4 in Phoenix. The 20 team will face the No. 7, 16 and 21 teams for the season-long title. Almirola has delivered the ninth win for the No. 20 team this season with Christopher Bell, John Hunter Nemechek and Ryan Truex each having two wins each.

Chandler Smith battled up front all day in his battle to make the Championship 4. He led 34 laps and finished third, which unfortunately was not enough to earn his own berth into next weekend’s championship race.

    TOYOTA QUOTES

ARIC ALMIROLA, No. 20 He Gets Us Toyota GR Supra, Joe Gibbs Racing

    Finishing Position: 1st

You scored the win and put the 20 team into the Championship 4.

“Wow. What an amazing race car. So proud of Tyler (Allen, crew chief) and all of the guys on this team. We had an amazing car here in the Spring, and we made a few tweaks to it because I wasn’t totally happy with it, honestly, in the Spring. We showed up yesterday and we were awful. I was like oh, no, what did we do, and they went to work last night and came up with a lot of changes to make to the car. It was so hooked up today. It would just do everything I wanted it to. This is such a special place. This is by far my favorite race track. I’m just so thankful. Thankful for Coach (Joe Gibbs), everyone at Toyota, TRD. Thank you He Gets Us. Thank you, God. There is so much more to it than just me and this race team. Just so lucky and blessed with this opportunity with so many partners – Go Bowling. I hate – they’ve been such a great partner of mine for such a long time, and we haven’t got them to victory lane. Just so thankful. Thankful to everyone at TRD, Toyota. Our GR Supra was fast – faster than the Xfinity internet today. Just what an amazing race car. I’m so proud – so, so proud. We are going to go race for an owner’s championship in Phoenix.”

CHANDLER SMITH, No. 81 QuickTie Products Toyota GR Supra, Joe Gibbs Racing

    Finishing Position: 3rd

Can you talk about the end of the race and conversation with Cole Custer?

“He thought he was in a must-win for the owners – which he was – but at the end of the day, I get that his dad has some high up role at SHR (Stewart-Haas Racing), so he probably values that a lot, but at the end of the day, I’m a driver. I’m in a must-win situation. He was not at that moment, and he didn’t even try to make the corner. Granted I moved him the lap before, but I’m beating his bumper off for the five laps before that. I gave him grace, before I finally shipped him, and then he doesn’t even try to give me a chance going into turn one. It is what it is. I’m super grateful God blessed me with a great group of men and women at Joe Gibbs Racing that have worked on this QuickTie Toyota. It is a bunch of fun. This car was hooked up at the very end, unfortunately, I was the focal point of us getting shipped because then we were behind the eight-ball and had to pass all of those cars again.”

SHELDON CREED, No. 18 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Toyota GR Supra, Joe Gibbs Racing

    Finishing Position: 6th

Can you walk me through your race and what more you needed there?

“We started off okay, and just kept making our car better and better there to have a shot at winning the race. Obviously, running second there and then we pitted and then I sped on pit road and had to go to the back. Kinda just pulled the gloves off and wanted to get back towards the front. Just made a few mistakes and I wheel hopped a few times, and I seemed to hit somebody every time I did it. I hate being that person. It is embarrassing being the guy that is just running into everyone. Definitely not who I want to be or how I want to race, just made mistakes trying hard and took people with me.”

COLE CUSTER ADVANCES TO CHAMPIONSHIP 4

    • Cole Custer’s fourth-place finish enabled him to qualify for the Championship 4 next week at Phoenix.
    • Custer will be going for his second straight series championship and can become the ninth driver to win multiple series titles.
    • Custer could also become the second Ford driver to win back-to-back championships, joining Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (2011-12).

COLE CUSTER, No. 00 Haas Automation Ford Mustang Dark Horse – WHAT WAS THE CONVERSATION WITH CHANDLER? “I guess he’s mad, but what comes around goes around. At the end of the day, he put us in the fence a few times this year. He used his bumper on me, so I used my bumper on him. It is what it is. You go and race for a championship and you’re put in these situations. I don’t mind doing it to him because he’s done it to me.”

HOW AGGRESSIVE DID YOU EXPECT HIM TO BE? “I expected him to be aggressive, but I can’t not be aggressive. I’m gonna race him just how he raced me the whole year.”

WHAT DID YOU TELL HIM? “I was racing for the owner’s. I was in a must-win just like him, so for him to come over here and say I don’t have a reason to race, that’s no reason at all.”

WITH YOU PAST HISTORY ARE YOU SURPRISED THAT HE WAS SHOCKED YOU RACED HIM THAT WAY? “No. I mean, it is what it is. You’re racing to go race for a championship. He put me in the wall a few times this year, this was the time it all came around.”

WHAT ABOUT YOUR TEAM AND HOW THEY PERFORMED? “I’m so proud of this team. We brought everything we had today. They kept us in the fight, but JT and all the guys did a great job all year maximizing everything we had. I can’t thank Gene Haas and everybody at Haas Automation, Ford Performance. I can’t wait to go to Phoenix now and see what we can do.”

ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT CHANDLER LOOKING FOR RETRIBUTION NEXT WEEKEND AT PHOENIX? “It is what it is. I think at the end of the day he put us in the wall a few times this year. He kept us from winning a race, I feel like, at Kansas. He used the bumper on me, so I used the bumper on him. I don’t know how we’re not even, and then he punches me in the face. I can’t even tell if he really punched me in the face it was so soft, but we’ll go on to Phoenix.”

YOUR THOUGHTS ON PHOENIX NEXT WEEK? “At the end of the day, I feel like we have as good a shot as anybody. We’ve brought a lot a speed in the playoffs so far. We obviously won last year, so we just have to work some magic again.”

WHAT HAPPENED EARLY ON IN THE RACE WITH AJ ALLMENDINGER? “At the end of the day, with AJ I was in a situation where I had to beat everybody else on points and he was locked in. I got aggressive with him. I’m not gonna lie. I think he overreacted and started brake checking me and then he popped his tire, but, at the end of the day, I had to go and he didn’t have to go, so I had to do what I had to do.”

YOU WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF A LOT OF STUFF TODAY. THAT’S JUST THE NATURE OF THIS BEING A CUTOFF RACE TO GET TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP 4, RIGHT? “Yeah. I mean, you just have to be aggressive. You have to fight for every point and you have to race how you get raced. That’s just how it is.”

Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway | Credit One NASCAR Amex Credit Card 300 Race Recap: The 31st race of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season kicked off with a solo trip to Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

In his Homestead return, Lupton and the AM Racing team led by crew chief Ryan “Pickle” London worked hard to improve the balance of their race car from practice to qualifying.

After picking up the pace in qualifying, Lupton started his No. 15 Lupton Excavation | AirBox Ford Mustang from the 30th position. After initially picking up a few positions at the drop of the green flag, Lupton reported an extremely loose race car, which was reflected in his track position.

Managing the looseness, Lupton stayed on the lead lap until the end of Stage 1, when London made a significant chassis adjustment to improve the car.

Lupton fired off strong at the start of Stage 2, continued to march forward, and worked to a race-high of 21st before finishing Stage 2 in the 23rd position.

With the sun beginning to set, Lupton continued to ask for more help to battle how free his race car was.

With new tires, fuel, and more adjustments, Lupton restarted inside the top 25, but early in Stage 3, a tire went down, causing him to make slight contact with the wall.

The team repaired the car with Lupton returning to the track and a couple of laps down. Lupton fought back and climbed back to 26th on the track before a right front flat tire with less than 10 laps to go sent the No. 15 AM Racing Ford Mustang to pit road for two tires.

Because of the late unscheduled stop, the team finished 32nd at the checkered flag.

From the Pit Box: Industry veteran Ryan “Pickle” London is Dylan Lupton’s crew chief.

He will be crew chief for his 32nd NASCAR Xfinity Series race and his third at Martinsville Speedway.

In his previous 31 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, he has collected two top-10 finishes, including a career-best ninth at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International with Joey Logano in September 2024 for AM Racing.

    Dylan Lupton Quoteboard:

On Martinsville Speedway: “I’m optimistic about returning to Martinsville Speedway this weekend. Even though we did not have the finish we deserved last weekend at Homestead, I am encouraged by the changes we made throughout the race that made us more competitive.

“Without a doubt, I think running double duty will be a benefit to me. It’s all about seat time this weekend at one of the most demanding NASCAR short tracks on the schedule. I think the 200 laps on Friday night will help me get into a rhythm and get reacquainted with Martinsville.

“I’m looking for a solid finish for our AM Racing team that we can build on and head to Phoenix Raceway next weekend and end the year on a high note.”

    Cole Custer Notes of Interest

    • Cole Custer is back in familiar colors this weekend as his iconic No. 00 Haas Automation Ford Mustang Dark Horse paint scheme returns for Saturday’s race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. He’s coming off a solid second-place result at Homestead-Miami Speedway and hopes to keep the momentum rolling as he looks to claim his spot in next week’s Championship 4 at Phoenix Raceway. After qualifying fourth at the 1.5-mile Homestead oval last weekend, Custer wasted no time taking the lead in the race. He led four times for 67 laps overall en route to finishes of fifth and third, respectively, in the first two stages. While the runner-up finish in the race wasn’t the win he was looking for to lock him into the Championship 4, Custer heads to the Martinsville Round of 8 cutoff race solidly above the top-four cutline with a 28-point advantage over fifth-place Chandler Smith, the first driver on the outside looking in. Last year’s Martinsville race ended in chaotic fashion as Custer crossed the finish line backwards and on fire to earn a 19th-place finish that locked him into the Championship 4 on points. He went on to win his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series championship the following week at Phoenix.
    • Saturday’s National Debt Relief 250 will mark Custer’s fourth Xfinity Series start at Martinsville. His best finish of third was earned in April 2023, when he started on the pole and led five laps. This past April, he finished eighth after starting second. Custer does have a dozen previous Martinsville outings outside of the Xfinity Series – six apiece in the NASCAR Cup Series and Craftsman Truck Series. In the Cup Series, the 26-year-old from Ladera Ranch, California, has a best Martinsville finish of 13th in October 2020, and his most recent outing in October 2022 resulted in a 14th-place finish. Best of Custer’s six Truck Series races at Martinsville from 2014 through 2016 was his fourth-place finish from the pole after leading a race-high 96 of 200 laps in the October 2015 race. That was behind the wheel of the No. 00 JR Motorsports entry, which he also drove to a seventh-place finish from the third starting position in the October 2016 Martinsville race, in which he led 17 laps.
    • Custer arrives at Martinsville fourth in the playoff standings behind AJ Allmendinger and Austin Hill, who already locked themselves into the Championship 4 via their victories at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Homestead, respectively. The remaining two Championship 4 spots are up for grabs between six drivers. Justin Allgaier holds down the third position, seven points ahead of Custer and his 28-point cushion over fifth-place Chandler Smith. Smith is joined below the cutline by Jesse Love, Sam Mayer and Sammy Smith. If one of those four locks himself into the Championship 4 with a win Saturday, that would leave just one remaining Championship 4 spot for Custer, Allgaier and the remaining drivers below the cutline to vie for.

    Riley Herbst Notes of Interest

    • Riley Herbst and the No. 98 Monster Energy team head to Saturday’s National Debt Relief 250 looking to continue another strong run to end the season, like he did in 2023. The Las Vegas native is coming off a strong, sixth-place result last Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway and arrives at Martinsville after back-to-back top-10s. Herbst entered the Martinsville race last season on a three-race top-10 streak, and he survived the mayhem of that race to bring home a fourth-place finish for the No. 98 Monster Energy team. Entering his final two races with Stewart-Haas Racing, Herbst hopes to end his time in the No. 98 Ford Mustang Dark Horse on a high note after what will be 132 total starts behind the wheel. During that time, Herbst has seen two victories – Oct. 14, 2023 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and July 20 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In addition, he’s won two poles, scored 64 top-10s, and led 323 laps. Not having to focus on the championship points battle, Herbst and the team have nothing to lose and everything to gain as they look to add another win to the history books for Stewart-Haas before the team closes its doors at the end of the season.
    • Saturday’s National Debt Relief 250 will be Herbst’s ninth at Martinsville in the Xfinity Series. Five of his eight previous starts there resulted in top-10 finishes. Prior to his third-place finish in October 2022, in which he fought valiantly for the win and avoided mayhem in the final laps, he posted a pair of sixth-place finishes there – in October 2020 and April 2022, respectively. He finished the aorementioed fourth last October and 10th in October 2021.
    • Herbst has come to excel on the short tracks in the Xfinity Series, as was evident the previous two seasons. In the four races at tracks less than a mile in length in 2022, Herbst scored three top-fives, starting with his fifth-place run in the April race at Richmond. He finished fifth at the half-mile Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway concrete oval in September and third in November at Martinsville. There was no slowing him down in 2023. Of the four short tracks in 2023, Herbst scored a pair of top-10s during the second-half of the season – eight in September’s Bristol night race and fourth in October’s Martinsville race. This season, Herbst earned two 13th-place finishes – March 30 at Richmond and Sept. 20 at Bristol, in addition to his runner-up finish at the .875-mile Iowa Speedway oval in Newton. Herbst’s Xfinity Series career started on a strong note on short tracks when the Las Vegas native drove to a sixth-place finish in his first career Xfinity Series start in June 2018 at Iowa.

Cole Custer, Driver of the No. 00 Haas Automation Ford Mustang Dark Horse

You’re heading into the final race of the Round of 8 with a 28-point advantage over the top-four cutline and two spots up for grabs in the Championship 4. Do you feel a sense of safety with that significant points gap between you and fifth-place Chandler Smith?

“Martinsville is going to be crazy. No matter what – it is always going to be crazy. We have to bring our best stuff there because you never know who is going to win and that could leave only one spot on points. We just have to go out there and be our best. I think being the team that we are, we’ll be in the fight. The No. 00 Haas Automation team was in this same spot last year, and despite a chaotic ending, we made it to the Championship 4 and went on to win a championship. You can have some comfort in that points advantage, but anything can happen. Those four guys below the cutline are going to be fighting to win and find their way in. I’m nervous heading into this weekend, but I know our team can get it done.”

Martinsville is such a polarizing track for drivers because of how difficult it can be. Both of your starts there last year in the Xfinity Series were strong, with a best finish of third last April. Do you enjoy racing at Martinsville?

“For sure. I really enjoy going to Martinsville. With that said, I’ve never been so nervous for a race as I was heading into that second Martinsville race last year. It was a cutoff race and the nerves were crazy. I have those same feelings this year. Ever since I first went to Martinsville in the Truck Series, I’ve always loved racing there. It’s definitely a place that you will love when everything is going well and hate when it starts going bad – mostly because when it’s bad, it’s really bad. We had a strong car last April to finish third and, honestly, our car in the fall was just as good. There was just so much on the line in that race. Then, to cross the finish line backwards and on fire, it was just one of those crazy Martinsville endings. Even with the nerves, I’m excited to go there and not only race for the iconic grandfather clock trophy, but also a spot in the Championship 4.”

Riley Herbst, Driver of the No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang Dark Horse

With only two races left in the 2024 season, reflect on your time at Stewart-Haas Racing as you look ahead to the future.

“Stewart-Haas Racing has been such a good time in my career. This place saw my growth. I’m not the same driver who walked through those doors in 2021. I went from a kid who no one thought deserved a ride to an Xfinity Series winner. My growth may have been slow. There may have been some bumps in the road. But, it’s my journey and I’m proud of it. All of the people I’ve worked with at Stewart-Haas over the years have helped me grow into the driver I am today. I can’t thank the team, the people, Ford Performance, and Monster Energy enough for always believing in me during this time. We’ve had a strong four seasons together, and while it’s bittersweet to see it come to an end with the team closing, I’m grateful for the time I’ve had here and everything that I’ve learned.”

Martinsville has been a strong track for you despite some roller coaster races in your career. On top of that, you’ve finished third and fourth in the past two fall races at Martinsville, respectively. Are you excited to head back there this weekend to race for a grandfather clock?

“Martinsville has always been a tough one for me to tackle, but it’s like that for every driver in the field. You can have the best of days there and the worst. I’ve been on both sides of it but, overall, I really do enjoy going to this track. It’s like the short tracks that we all grew up racing on, so it’s familiar to a lot of guys in the garage. Short-track racing is always fun for me, but Martinsville is where you’re really beating and banging to try and get a win. At the end of the day, it’s about staying out of trouble and being there

Making it more special is that High Point Paint and Sherwin-Williams are donating $30,000 to our Be The Change Scholarship at Rowan Cabarrus Community College, which will allow us to increase the number of scholarships we award annually. We have put in the work all year long and this group deserves a chance at that championship. Martinsville has always been one of my favorite tracks and I have a lot of confidence here as we came up just one spot short in the spring. That just further gives me all the confidence in the world in Jim (Pohlman, crew chief) and everyone on this Jarrett Chevrolet as we look ahead to this weekend. Martinsville has been a strong track for us and I know we will be just as solid once we hit the track for practice on Friday. • Ford Performance NASCAR – 2024 Martinsville Playoff Advance

Ford Performance NASCAR – 2024 Martinsville Playoff Advance

    MARTINSVILLE 2

    Friday, November 1 — NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, 6 p.m. ET (FS1)
Saturday, November 2 — NASCAR Xfinity Series, 4 p.m. ET (CW)
Sunday, November 3 — NASCAR Cup Series, 2 p.m. ET (NBC)

NASCAR will set the Championship 4 in all three national series this weekend when Martinsville Speedway hosts its second event of the 2024 season. This will mark the fifth straight season that the half-mile paperclip serves as the penultimate race and begins with Friday night’s Craftsman Truck Series event. The Xfinity and Cup finalists will be decided on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

LOGANO GEARING UP FOR CHAMPIONSHIP 4

Joey Logano has already locked up his spot in the Championship 4 after winning at Las Vegas two weeks ago. This will mark his sixth time in the Championship 4 with all of those appearances coming in even years (2014, ‘16, ‘18, ‘20, ‘22 and ‘24). The two-time Cup Series champion will look to become the 10th driver to win at least three titles and join the likes of three-time winners Tony Stewart, Cale Yarborough, Darrell Waltrip, David Pearson and Lee Petty; four-time champion Jeff Gordon; and seven-time titleholders Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty.

BLANEY CONTINUES ROUND OF 8 BATTLE

After last weekend’s near miss, Ryan Blaney comes into Sunday’s race at Martinsville Speedway in seventh-place in the playoff standings, 38 points below the cut line. And while his deficit may seem large, he’s likely one of the favorite to win this weekend and repeat his victory from a year ago. That’s because Martinsville has undoubtedly been one of Blaney’s best tracks. This will mark his 18th career start at the track and thanks to his nine top-five and 11 top-10 finishes, his average finish is a sparkling 8.8, which is his best among tracks where he has at least 10 starts.

    LOGANO LIKES MARTINSVILLE

No track on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit has been better for Joey Logano when it comes to qualifying than Martinsville Speedway. Logano enters this weekend with an average starting position of 8.3, which is his second among all tracks in which he has more than 10 starts (Las Vegas is 7.9 in 23 starts). In 31 career races at the half-mile short track, Logano has one win, 11 top-5 and 19 top-10 finishes, giving him an average finishing position of 10.8. The figure ranks as his third-best track (10 or more races) with only Las Vegas (9.5) and Richmond (10.0) being better.

RYAN BLANEY: “Martinsville is a track I love. I’ve loved it ever since I was a kid. I grew up a little bit south of there and went there a lot as a child and watched my dad race and watched a lot of these great racers run around that place and I’ve always wanted to win there and get a grandfather clock and we were able to put it all together last year. That race, to me, is kind of like Vegas. I feel like we’ve had a couple slip away from us. I feel like we should have two or three grandfather clocks, but sometimes things just don’t work out for you, so it was nice to go into that race last year – even though we were sitting fairly good on points we didn’t care about that, we just wanted to go win the race. Being able to put together kind of the dominating day that we did, especially the last two-thirds of that race was a huge statement and it put us in a really great head space going into Phoenix and we were able to perform there. I love that place to my core. A lot of special reasons behind it off track and on track, so hopefully we can get another grandfather clock. That would be pretty special.”

JOEY LOGANO: “Martinsville is probably the perfect place for being an elimination race. I know NASCAR thinks about this stuff when they put the schedule together and they look at Martinsivlle and think, ‘Everyone is gonna be really close to each other. There’s gonna be full contact. A lot of things can happen.’ You look at all the cutoff races that we have. Bristol, cars are all over each other. The Roval, the tightest road course we go to and the cars are all over each other. Martinsville it’s the same thing, so you’ve got to expect drama when you go there. Some people will be in do-or-die scenarios and what are they willing to do?”

    BLANEY GOING FOR MARTINSVILLE REPEAT

Ryan Blaney would like nothing better than a repeat of a year ago when he won the Martinsville playoff race and clinched a spot in the Championship 4. Blaney, who passed Aric Almirola with 22 laps to go, came into the race with a 10-point cushion and promptly extended that by finished second in Stage 1 and winning Stage 2. In all, Blaney led four times for 145 laps in winning for the third time, which matched his career-best for a single season.

    CUSTER ON THE BUBBLE AGAIN

For the second straight year, Cole Custer finds himself on the bubble heading into the final race in the Round of 8 at Martinsville Speedway. This time, he’s sitting fourth in the standings, 28 points ahead of fifth-place Chandler Smith and only seven behind third-place Justin Allgaier. A year ago, Custer was third overall, but was only three points above the cut line. He eventually went on to advance to the Championship 4 and win his first title one week later at Phoenix Raceway. This will be his fourth career series start at Martinsville, where he finished eighth earlier this year. He also made six NASCAR Cup Series starts, but never finished better than 13th.

MAJESKI GOING FOR SECOND CAREER CHAMPIONSHIP 4 BERTH

After a solid runner-up finish last weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Ty Majeski comes into Martinsville holding down the fourth and final transfer position in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series playoff standings. Majeski, advanced to the Championship 4 for the first time in 2022, is 22 points above the cut line and 16 points behind third-place Christian Eckes. The Wisconsin native sat on the pole earlier this year at Martinsville and finished a career-best second in only his third series start.

Crew chief Danny Stockman made great adjustments to keep up with the track all race long, and our pit crew was solid – especially late in the race when they gained spots on pit road and we restarted second. We lacked rear grip during the long green flag run to the end, and after the round of green flag pit stops, we knew we had to make up as much time as possible leaving pit road. After I saw my teammate, Austin Hill, win both stages from the bottom line, I knew where I needed to run at the end. We didn’t have enough at the end to catch those guys. We couldn’t get the top line to work like I needed it to, so I know what needs to be worked on before we come back here next year. Congratulations to the No. 21 team and everyone at Richard Childress Racing and ECR Engines on their win and locking into the final four at Phoenix Raceway. I’m confident that our team will bring a fast Chevrolet to Martinsville Speedway next week, and hopefully our No. 2 team can lock in as well.” -Jesse Love

Austin Hill and the No. 21 Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet Team Win at Homestead-Miami Speedway to Advance to the Championship 4

“We have worked so hard to be in this position. A lot of people doubt me, but I wake up every day to prove everyone wrong that I deserve to be here and race for a championship. This No. 21 team deserves this moment as much as I do. They work their tails off day in and day out. They gave me a heck of a Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet today. I didn’t have to run the wall and could run wherever I needed to. We only had one bad run at the start of Stage 3 with the car being so loose. I can honestly say I’ve never cried after winning a race, and I couldn’t get my emotions under control going into Turn 1 after taking the checkered. I’m not sure folks will understand the amount of hard work and dedication that went into this, and what it means to me and my family. The pit crew was on it as normal today and I knew when we got off pit road within distance of the No. 00, I just had to go to work without burning my right rear up. As soon as I saw the No. 00 start backing up to me, I knew it was game on. To be able to be in the final four and race for championship is amazing. There are no words to describe the feeling.” -Austin Hill
