Stefan Parsons returns to Alpha Prime Racing in 2023

MOORESVILLE, N.C (December 23, 2022): Alpha Prime Racing is pleased to announce that Stefan Parsons will be returning for select races during the 2023 NASCAR XFINITY Series season.

“It’s a huge boost to our program to keep a driver like Stefan in the building,” said APR Vice President David Schildhouse. “His talent brought some incredible results to our team in 2022 and he believes in what we are building here at APR. We look at Stefan as a core piece of our upwards growth trajectory and bringing him back to our roster was a top priority this offseason.”

Parsons made 12 starts for Alpha Prime Racing in 2022 and delivered a number of outstanding performances highlighted by an 8th-place finish at Bristol. While there was a lot to celebrate in 2022, the second generation driver feels like he’s right where he wants to be for 2023.

“I’m super excited to be able to call Alpha Prime home again in 2023,” said Parsons. “I can’t wait to build on the momentum we gained in the last half of 2022. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of Tommy Joe and Caesar at APR, Mark Sokal and Melissa Clark. I’m so thankful for this opportunity to continue representing SOKAL and Alpha Prime Racing!”
Details regarding sponsorship and the races that Stefan will compete in will come at a future date.

Jeffrey Earnhardt Joins Alpha Prime Racing Full-Time In 2023

    MOORESVILLE, N.C

Alpha Prime Racing is excited to announce that Jeffrey Earnhardt will be racing full-time in the number 44 Chevrolet Camaro during the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

“We’re so excited to have Jeffrey with us next season,” APR President Tommy Joe Martins said. “Jeffrey has been a competitor and a friend to me for a few years now. When Caesar and I started this team last year, we both talked about having Jeffrey at the top of our roster – so to see this all come together for 2023, he and I both feel like we finally got our guy.”

The 4th generation Earnhardt driver has competed at all three levels of NASCAR’s top series and is ready to return to the Chevrolet family and Alpha Prime Racing full-time next season.

“I’m really pumped this came together with Tommy and Caesar,” said Jeffrey. “We were evaluating different options and after speaking with them we knew this would be the perfect fit. They are making major moves to strengthen their program and they made me feel welcomed. I’m fortunate to have my sponsors from last season continuing their support and we’ve got some new partners onboard. I’m looking forward to putting on that bowtie and leading this team to their first victory next season.”

A major cornerstone for Earnhardt has been his sponsor ForeverLawn. They’re returning for multiple races in 2023 and CEO Dale Karmie is enthusiastic about the future.

“We are thrilled that Jeffrey Earnhardt will be back in the Black and Green Grass Machine in 2023” commented Karmie. “Jeffrey is a great driver, we just need to get him on the track more. We can’t wait to see what this year brings. We are blessed to have such great partners whose support continues to make this possible. We are also excited to continue bringing the message of hope from Pastor Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries. We’ll see you out on the track!”

The value of a competitive Earnhardt was demonstrated during his Talladega race this past season. Winning the pole and missing victory lane by one position, Jeffrey Earnhardt enjoyed the most viewed NASCAR Xfinity Series race in the past 5 years. With ECR power plants and confident leadership, Jeffrey and Alpha Prime Racing are eager to get to Daytona.

In addition to providing race cars to AM Racing, Stewart-Haas Racing will also provide technical support for the entire 33-race season.

“This is an integral move for AM Racing and our future in NASCAR,” said AM Racing team principal Kevin Cywinski. “AM Racing is committed to ensuring that we are taking the necessary measures to not only give our team but Brett (Moffitt) the opportunity to be competitive from the time we show up to Daytona in February – which is something this group deserves.

“We are also grateful to have formed a technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing and Ford Performance. With their leadership and direction – it should offer the opportunity for our team to contend for a spot in the Xfinity Series Playoffs in our inaugural season.”

Moffitt, the Grimes, Iowa native is ready to propel AM Racing into the Xfinity spotlight after competing for the team in three NASCAR Truck Series races at Knoxville Raceway and Kansas Speedway during the past two seasons respectively.

“I am beyond excited about this next chapter in my career,” said Moffitt. “Wade (Moore), Kevin (Cywinski) and the entire AM Racing team are putting the pieces together to make sure that we not only have a team that can run up front but win races in 2023.

“I was impressed by the team’s long-term plan and without question, I know that we will be able to accomplish the goals that we have set forth. I look forward to representing AM Racing as driver of the No. 25 Ford Mustang.”

“There’s strength in numbers and having another Ford team with Roush Yates horsepower in the Xfinity Series is something that’s very beneficial for Stewart-Haas Racing,” said Greg Zipadelli, chief competition officer, Stewart-Haas Racing. “This is a partnership that can accelerate AM Racing’s growth while simultaneously benefitting our own efforts in the Xfinity Series.”

In addition to the Xfinity Series, AM Racing will house a rebranded full-time ARCA Menards Series program in 2023, while also continuing to field the No. 22 Ford F-150 in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series.

  • JR Motorsports Revamps Crew Chief Lineup with Updated Roles, New Hires

JR Motorsports Revamps Crew Chief Lineup with Updated Roles, New Hires

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Nov. 17, 2022) – JR Motorsports has revamped its crew chief roster for the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, the organization announced today. Returning veterans Jason Burdett and Taylor Moyer will assume crew chief duties with the Nos. 9 and 8 entries, respectively, while the addition of Jim Pohlman on the No. 7 and Mardy Lindley with the No. 1 team completes the crew chief lineup.

Entering his ninth season with JRM, Burdett is the company’s winningest crew chief with 18 victories. Burdett, who led Justin Allgaier to Championship 4 appearances in five of the last seven seasons, will transition to the No. 9 Menards team with JRM’s newest driver Brandon Jones. Through his first eight years with the company, Burdett racked up an impressive 110 top-five and 183 top-10 finishes.

Moyer moves to the No. 8 team with driver Josh Berry for 2023 to fill the role vacated by Mike Bumgarner, now serving as JRM’s director of competition. In 2019-20, Moyer served as crew chief of JRM’s No. 8 Chevrolet and its rotating roster of drivers. He has spent the past two seasons atop the pit box for Berry and Sam Mayer, leading Mayer to 12 top fives, 25 top 10s and a playoff berth through to the Round of 8 in 2022.

“As successful as 2022 was for JR Motorsports, we’re always asking ourselves ‘how can we be better?’” said Bumgarner, JRM’s director of competition. “While we performed at a very high level this season, a tweak here or there can help push us even further. We were fortunate to bring in Jim (Pohlman) and Mardy (Lindley). Both have past success with their drivers and we expect that will aid in making a smooth transition.”

A native of Oak Lawn, Illinois, the 43-year-old Pohlman comes to JRM by way of Richard Childress Racing to assume crew chief duties for the No. 7 BRANDT Professional Agriculture team and perennial championship contender Allgaier. In 2008, Pohlman helped Allgaier secure an ARCA Menards Series championship, so the pairing will be familiar. Pohlman also spent time at the Cup Series level, most notably as crew chief for Juan Pablo Montoya in 2011 with several opportunities along the way in both Cup and NXS competition.

Additionally, Greenville, S.C. native Lindley, a decades-long veteran of the sport who spent the last two seasons at Kyle Busch Motorsports with six victories to his credit, joins Mayer in 2023 to lead the No. 1 team, reuniting the driver and crew chief for the first time since 2020. The Lindley / Mayer combination netted championships in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series (2019) and the ARCA Menards Series (2020). Together, the duo has more than 15 victories between the two series.

Chevrolet returns to competition in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

TEAM CHEVY POST-RACE NOTES AND QUOTES

NOAH GRAGSON, NO. 9 BASS PRO SHOPS / TRUETIMBER / BRCC CAMARO SS – FINISHED SECOND

“This No. 9 Bass Pro Shops team was really good all season long – eight wins, led the most laps and the most top-fives. We just came up one race short. I’m just so thankful for everyone at JR Motorsports.”

JUSTIN ALLGAIER, NO. 7 BRANDT CAMARO SS – FINISHED THIRD

“First of all, hats off to everyone at JR Motorsports. To put three cars in the Championship 4, obviously that was a big deal. To come out of here though with not one of us being the champion is probably the most difficult part.

“I thought our team did a great job all night. Jason Burdett (crew chief) and the whole No. 7 team did a good job of trying to make adjustments to the car to get it to where we needed it to be. We had awesome pit stops there at the end. We just got a little too free when we needed to be tighter. When the sun was going down, we were just trying to tighten the car up. We just didn’t quite take a big enough swing at it.

“I drove it for all I had. The track obviously changed a lot; the lines changed a lot. But I’m just proud of everybody at JR Motorsports. Obviously, we wanted to get the win for the No. 7 team, but we just wanted to get one of us as the champion. We’ll go back on Monday. There are going to be a lot of heads down low, but I can promise you that by the time we get back to Daytona in February, we’re going to be in great shape and go make another run at it next year.”

JOSH BERRY, NO. 8 TIRE PROS CAMARO SS – FINISHED 13TH

“We rebounded well. We got up there, but just got too high on that restart and just screwed that one up, I guess. We were behind all day trying to get up there and race with these guys. We finally got up there, but it just wasn’t meant to be.

“I’m just proud of the effort that these guys put in all year. It’s been tough, but to make it to the Championship 4 is a big deal. We just got beat.”

    POS. DRIVER
12th Justin Allgaier, No. 7 BRANDT Camaro SS
13th Noah Gragson, No. 9 Bass Pro Shops / True Timber / BRCC Camaro SS
14th Josh Berry, No. 8 Tire Pros Camaro SS

TEAM CHEVY NXS CHAMPIONSHIP 4: DRIVER AND CREW CHIEF QUOTES:

JUSTIN ALLGAIER, NO. 7 BRANDT CAMARO SS

“I’m really proud of all the work everyone at JR Motorsports and on this No. 7 team put in to how we unloaded today. This BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet felt the best of any car I’ve had at Phoenix before. We know what lies ahead of us now tomorrow, and I feel like we have a great chance to accomplish something great.”

JASON BURDETT, CREW CHIEF, NO. 7 BRANDT CAMARO SS

“I feel like we made some good changes and had some good runs as practice went along. We started our first run in traffic, which didn’t help very much, but we feel pretty good about where we are on the long runs. We’ll see how everything goes tomorrow, but I’m happy and Justin (Allgaier) is happy with where we ended practice today with the BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet.”

JOSH BERRY, NO. 8 TIRE PROS CAMARO SS

“We started practice off way loose and made gains on it throughout. Bummy (Mike Bumgarner, crew chief) and this Tire Pros team are working on it now to make the right adjustments for qualifying tomorrow morning. We should be good to go. I’ve got the confidence this group will get it right for tomorrow.”

MIKE BUMGARNER, CREW CHIEF, NO. 8 TIRE PROS CAMARO SS

“Josh talked about being loose to start practice and throughout but our lap times were on par with the rest of the group ahead of us. Our long run speed was really good, we just need to fire off a little better. We will go to work to make some final adjustments to get us ready for qualifying in the morning and I think we will be right there where we need to be.”

NOAH GRAGSON, NO. 9 BASS PRO SHOPS / TRUE TIMBER / BRCC CAMARO SS

“I’m pretty happy with our No. 9 Bass Pro Shops Camaro. In practice, we made a lot of laps and made some adjustments. It was a lot different with the track not having the same resin applied this weekend, but we were learning all practice long. I feel like we’re going to make some good adjustments overnight for the race. I’m really excited to go to battle with this team.”

Safety First: Whether you are brand new to firearms or you’ve been around them your entire life, it is always good to brush up on the 4 Cardinal Rules of Gun Safety, and to teach them to others:

Treat all guns as if they are loaded.
Never let the muzzle point at anything you are not willing to destroy.
Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to fire.
Be sure of your target and what is behind it.

For more details, and more gun safety rules to follow, be sure to check out the NSSF’s article on Firearm Safety here.

Joe Graf Jr. Xfinity Series Phoenix Raceway Stats: Joe Graf Jr. will make his sixth NASCAR Xfinity Series start at the 1.0-mile speedway on Saturday afternoon.

In his previous five starts, Graf has delivered a track-best of 25th earned in the March 13, 2021 running of the Call Before You Dig 200 after starting 16th.

Overall, he has an average finish of 29.0 at Phoenix.

He has also completed 835 of 1,010 laps for an 82.7 percent lap completion.

Joe Graf Jr. Xfinity Series Career Short Tracks Stats: At tracks classified as a speedway, Graf has competed in 46 NASCAR Xfinity Series races. He holds an average starting position of 25.7 and an average result of 25.8

Martinsville (Va.) Speedway | Dead On Tools 250 Race Recap: In his most recent NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, Graf and the SSGLRwJL team showcased the No. 07 Bucked Up Pump N’ Grind Energy Drink Ford Mustang in the penultimate Xfinity Series race of the season.

After qualifying a career-best 12th last Friday afternoon, Graf maintained a solid pace inside the top 20 despite battling a loose race car at the onset of Stage 1. Unfortunately, late in the stage, Graf would be dumped by another competitor who said he lost all brakes in his race car.

The contact sent Graf up the race track and into the Turn 1 wall hard. The SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt team was able to piece back together the mangled race car where Graf was able to soldier on to a frustrating 27th-place finish.

Sneaker Mania: Along with the adrenaline of the Motorsports competition, Joe Graf Jr. also has a vogue for hype sneakers. In his current collection, he owns and wears at least 90 limited edition sneakers – and his collection continues to grow every month.

The current estimated value of his collection tops $100,000.

From the Pit Box: Industry veteran Joe Williams is Joe Graf Jr.’s crew chief.

He will crew chief his 98th NASCAR Xfinity Series race as crew chief on Saturday afternoon and his sixth race in the desert of Avondale, Ariz.

In his previous 97 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, he has collected one win (Auto Club Speedway | February 2022), seven top-five and 21 top-10 finishes.

Hello From The Other Side: Graf Jr. has a teammate at SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt. Veteran Brandon Brown will drive the No. 08 SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt Ford Mustang on Saturday afternoon for his 31st start of the 2022 season.

Brown is set to make his 150th career Xfinity Series start overall and eighth at Phoenix. His best Xfinity Phoenix track finish occurred in the 2021 Call Before You Dig 200, where he finished third after starting 11th for his family-owned Brandonbilt Motorsports team.

    Joe Graf Jr. Pre-Race Quote:

On Phoenix Raceway: “I can’t believe the end of the season is here. It seems like we were just taking the green flag on the year at Daytona but on Saturday afternoon, we’ll be taking the checkered flag on the 2022 Xfinity Series season.

“I cannot thank my SS GreenLight with Jeff Lefcourt team enough for all of their hard work, effort and support throughout the year. I feel like we have improved our team considerably from last year and that is because of all the hard work involved by all.

“Overall, I like Phoenix. I’ve had some good qualifying runs there but haven’t been able to seal the deal with a finish I’d be content with. I’m thankful and appreciative to have ArmsList.com on the car this weekend and I hope we can deliver them a solid result in their Xfinity Series partnership debut.”
