Myatt Snider – No. 31 TaxSlayer Chevrolet Camaro SS Preview-
    Bristol Motor Speedway

    News and Notes:

    • Practice; After technical inspection on Friday morning, Snider and the No. 31 TaxSlayer Chevrolet will hit the half-mile high banked concrete oval nicknamed “The Last Great Coliseum” at 2:35 PM ET on Friday afternoon for a brief 20-minute practice session. NXS practice will be split into two different groups, Snider is scheduled to be a part of the second group. Coverage of practice will air LIVE on the NBC Sports App.

    – Starting Position; Directly after practice at 3:10 PM ET, Snider and the Jordan Anderson Racing (JAR) Bommarito Autosport team will line up to qualify for starting position in the Food City 300. In 2022, short-track qualifying would consist of a single round of single car qualifying for two laps. Snider will roll off 25th for his qualifying laps based on the performance-based matrix factoring owner points, driver points, race finish, and fastest lap of the previous week. With 41 cars entered, three cars will miss the race. Coverage of qualifying will also air LIVE on the NBC Sports App.

    – Bristol Motor Speedway Stats; Friday’s NXS Food City 300 will mark Snider’s fourth NXS start at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS). Snider’s NXS debut at the famous half-mile oval situated in the mountains of East Tennessee, would come in the Covid-19 scheduled event in June of 2020. Starting in the 22nd position, Snider would quickly work his way to the front on a track that has traditionally been hard to pass on. Making the car better on each pit stop Snider would work his way into the Top-5 where he would finish with a hard earned fifth-place finish. The return for Snider in the Fall did not fare like the Spring after starting in the 29th position an engine would expire on Lap-31 of 300 resulting in a 35th place finish.

The Food City 300 in the Fall of 2021, would see Snider have a good qualifying effort starting in the 17th spot and much like his first NXS race at Bristol would quickly move into the Top-10 and would work on making the car better with each pit stop. At the end of the 300-laps Snider would be credited with an eighth-place finish. In his three previous starts at Bristol, Snider holds an average finish of 16.0.

  • A GIBBS FAMILY TRADITION: CHASING CHAMPIONSHIPS

A GIBBS FAMILY TRADITION: CHASING CHAMPIONSHIPS

    • Ty Gibbs will open as a strong championship favorite when the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs begin next Saturday at TMS with the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300.
    • Grandson of Joe Gibbs was the 2021 Xfinity Series Rookie of the Year and has recorded nine wins in less than two full seasons, including five this year.

FORT WORTH, Texas (September 15, 2022) – Ty Gibbs, the 19-year-old grandson of Pro Football Hall of Fame coach and NASCAR Hall of Famer Joe Gibbs, already owns a burgeoning resume in the NASCAR Xfinity Series but next week he begins to focus his attention on a family tradition.

Championships are the name of the game in the Gibbs family and the budding star will be among the prime title favorites as the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs officially open with next Saturday’s Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway (2:30 p.m. CT, TV: USA Network Radio: SiriusXM Radio Ch. 90, PRN).

His legendary grandfather has won five Cup Series championships (2000, ‘02, ‘05, ‘15, ‘19), three Super Bowls (XVII, XXII, XXVI) and three Xfinity Series titles (2009, ’16, ’21) in his illustrious career while Ty begins the pursuit of his first of what could be many championship runs in NASCAR’s National Series. His strategy for this playoff run is succinct.

“Winning is the obvious answer,” Gibbs said. “If you win, you advance. And that’s the key.”

Gibbs, driver of the No. 54 Interstate Batteries Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, currently is tied for the series lead in victories (5) with Noah Gragson of JR Motorsports and the two also are battling it out for the No. 1 playoff seed. It will come down to Friday night’s regular-season finale at Bristol Motor Speedway, which will determine the 12-driver playoff field and the seedings.

Gibbs already is assured a playoff berth regardless of his finish, but a win or dominant performance at Bristol could give him the top seed. He also has a remote chance at the regular-season title but will need a poor outing from leader AJ Allmendinger, who holds a commanding 38-point leader over Gibbs with a maximum 60 points available at Bristol.

“We’ve had a good year thus far and I’ve learned a lot,” said Gibbs, the 2021 Xfinity Series rookie of the year. “We’ve won five races but as a competitor you always want more, and I think there are a few more we should have. But overall it’s been a good season and I’ve learned a lot. It’s great working with Chris Gayle (crew chief) and everyone on the 54 and at JGR.”

The elimination-style NASCAR Playoffs is as much about winning as it is survival. A victory in a round automatically advances the driver to the next round but a major mistake in the three-race round format also could be devastating. So will the aggressive Gibbs remain in that attack mode or look to become a bit more conservative?

“Not really, to be honest,” Gibbs said. “The goal is to win races and when you win, you advance. But, if you don’t have a winning car, you want to finish as best you can and not put yourself in the bad spot. It’s just about getting good finishes.”

The Xfinity Series Playoffs opener will be just his second appearance at Texas Motor Speedway. He made his TMS debut in May, when he started seventh and finished 12th.

“Texas is a fun track, and it is an important race to us as Interstate Batteries is based just down the road,” Gibbs said. “So we want to do well for them. It’s a challenging track, but JGR won there twice last year so hopefully we can do it again.”

He also is expected to compete in next Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 race at Texas Motor Speedway. The addition of the Cup Series to his schedule was a result of 23XI Racing driver Kurt Busch being sidelined due to a head injury he sustained from a crash at Pocono in July. Bubba Wallace has moved over to Busch’s No. 45 Toyota and Gibbs is in Wallace’s No. 23 entry.

The double duty may be valuable to Gibbs on the Xfinity Series side of the equation as it does grant him more overall track time on the 1.5-mile oval in which he only has seen once.

“Any track time is good,” said Gibbs, who will be making his ninth Cup start of the season at Bristol on Saturday night. “Just making laps in a competitive environment helps. I’m learning a lot each week and Billy Scott (crew chief) is helping me as is everyone at 23XI.”

The three-race opening round will test the diversity of the Xfinity Series drivers’ skill sets with a 1.5-mile oval (Texas), 2.66-mile superspeedway (Talladega) and a road course (Charlotte ROVAL), respectively. Of Gibbs’ nine career wins, four have come on 1.5-mile ovals (Atlanta, Charlotte, Kansas, Las Vegas) and three on road courses (Daytona, Road America, Watkins Glen).

It would appear that the opening-round races would play in Gibbs’ favor given his success on those type of tracks.

“Yes and no,” Gibbs said. “Talladega is a wild card, but it does help that it’s the ROVAL and a 1.5-mile oval. At the end of the day, it’s all about winning or putting yourself in the best possible position each week to advance to the next round.”

The Round of 8 will follow and consist of Las Vegas (Oct. 15), Homestead-Miami (Oct. 22) and Martinsville (Oct. 29). That round will determine which four drivers will battle for the title at Phoenix on Nov. 5.

Texas Motor Speedway will play host to the 2022 NASCAR Playoffs next week. The NASCAR Playoffs doubleheader will be highlighted by the NASCAR Xfinity Series Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 on Saturday, Sept. 24 (2:30 p.m. CT on USA Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Ch. 90, and PRN), and the NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 on Sunday, Sept. 25 (2:30 p.m. CT on USA Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Ch. 90, PRN, and 95.9 The Ranch).

The newly renovated Lil’ Texas Motor Speedway 1/5-mile dirt track will kick off the weekend of racing with the inaugural C. Bell’s MICRO MANIA. The four-day event (Sept. 21-24) features practice on Wednesday (Sept. 21), qualifying races Thursday and Friday (Sept. 22-23) and mains and finals Saturday (Sept. 24). Micro Sprints are smaller versions of full-sized sprint cars with side-mounted 600cc motorcycle engines that can generate 140 horsepower with similar chassis and body styles to the larger versions. NASCAR stars currently confirmed to participate include Christopher Bell, two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch and his son Brexton Busch, Sheldon Creed, Daniel Hemric, Brett Moffitt, and John Hunter Nemechek.

  • HUNGRY GROUP OF DRIVERS CHASING XFINITY SERIES REGULAR SEASON CROWN AT FOOD CITY 300

HUNGRY GROUP OF DRIVERS CHASING XFINITY SERIES REGULAR SEASON CROWN AT FOOD CITY 300

Trio of drivers will be battling to stay above the cut-off line and advance to the Xfinity Series Playoffs with strong Bristol run

BRISTOL, Tenn. (Sept. 13, 2022) – It’s going to be hard to top the insanely crazy finish from last year’s Food City 300, but you can bet the drivers in the NASCAR Xfinity Series will give it their best shot.

An instant classic by every measure of the phrase, last year’s Food City 300 featured incredible drama at the finish as championship rivals A.J. Allmendinger and Austin Cindric raced hard to the checkered flag in an effort to capture the Xfinity Series regular season crown.

The two drivers crashed into each other as they crossed the finish line with the checkered flag waving. Allmendinger’s Chevy took the win by a nose in the photo finish.

It’s extremely rare when the winning car is so heavily damaged that it doesn’t make it to Victory Lane and the winning driver has to be interviewed live from the infield care center. That’s how last year’s Food City 300 ended. After being cleared from the care unit, a pumped-up Allmendinger walked swiftly to Bristol’s famed rooftop Victory Lane to accept his BMS Trophy and BMS Gladiator Sword.

It was definitely a surreal moment.

Allmendinger once again finds himself in the thick of the battle for the Xfinity Series championship and is the current points leader in his No. 16 Chevy for Kaulig Racing. His rivals are rising star Ty Gibbs and veteran Justin Allgaier. Noah Gragson, the circuit’s most recent winner, is mathematically out of the running for the regular season title but is currently projected as the No. 1 seed in the Playoffs.

Allmendinger says there’s a possibility that it could all come down to that type of finish once again this year, given how tight the regular season points are.

“With Bristol you just never know,” Allmendinger said. “It’s all situational. You could easily get caught up in someone else’s mess early in the race and you are out of it. Or, it could come down to another finish like we had last year where we are all battling in the final laps. My team knows that if we are in that situation racing for a win at Bristol and a regular season championship, that I am going to do whatever it takes and put it all on the line to get the job done.”

Gibbs is having an outstanding season at the controls of the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing machine with five victories. Meanwhile, Gragson is a four-time season winner and a past Bristol winner with 12 top 10s in the No. 9 Chevy for JR Motorsports. Defending Food City 300 winner Allmendinger has three victories this season and veteran Allgaier, who has won at Bristol in the past and always runs well on the concrete high-banks, has three wins this season at the controls of the No. 7 Chevy for JRM.

Several other drivers who have already clinched their spots in the Xfinity Playoffs include Josh Berry, who pilots the No. 8 Chevy for JRM and talented rookie Austin Hill, a two-time winner this year in the No. 21 Chevy for Richard Childress Racing. Brandon Jones in the No. 19 Gibbs entry has also clinched a spot as has the driver of the No. 51 Chevy, Jeremy Clements, who won a few weeks ago at Daytona.

Sam Mayer in the No. 1 Chevy, defending Xfinity Series champ Daniel Hemric in the Kaulig No. 11, and Riley Herbst in the Stewart-Haas Racing No. 98, are all yet to qualify for the Playoffs and should factor into the mix at The World’s Fastest Half-Mile.

Sparks are sure to fly once again during the Food City 300 as the teams race hard to secure one of the 12 Playoff positions. After the checkered flag waves, the 12 Playoff spots will be locked in. Drivers around the bubble in positions 11-13 looking to advance to the Playoffs include Landon Cassill and Ryan Sieg, who sit 11th and 12th and the first driver on the outside looking in, Sheldon Creed.

Creed, who has ran well at Bristol in the Camping World Truck Series, has cut the deficit quite a bit in recent races in his No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevy and now only trails Seig by 13 points for the final transfer spot into the Xfinity Series Playoffs. Creed, who thought he was going to move inside the top 12 with a strong run at Kansas this past weekend, will need a great Bristol finish to earn a spot in the Playoffs.

“When we fired off at the beginning of the race (at Kansas), I thought we were really good and then we weren’t good when the track starting building rubber,” Creed said. “I tried running at the bottom, top and middle and tried different lines. I just couldn’t get anything to work or make speed. I don’t know where we missed it there because we weren’t as good as we thought we would be. It looks like we gained three points, so that will make things interesting in Bristol. I’m proud of everyone at RCR and ECR.”

The action on the track begins with Zane Smith, John Hunter Nemechek, Ben Rhodes and defending winner Chandler Smith battling for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory Thursday night in the UNOH 200 presented by Ohio Logistics (Sept. 15, 9 p.m., FS1, MRN Radio). The rising stars in the ARCA Menards Series also will take on the challenging half-mile bullring in the Bush’s Beans 200 as part of the Thursday night doubleheader (Sept. 15, 6:30 p.m., FS1, MRN Radio).

The stars of the NASCAR Cup Series will take to the track on Saturday for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race (Sept. 17, 7:30 p.m., USA Network, PRN Radio), you’ll get to see all of your favorite drivers racing hard to advance in the first elimination race of the Playoffs.

Kaulig Racing and Hemric Team Up with First Bank of Alabama at Talladega

Hemric to Pilot No. 11 First Bank of Alabama Chevrolet in Sparks 300

LEXINGTON, N.C. (September 14, 2022) – Kaulig Racing and Daniel Hemric announced today their partnership with the First Bank of Alabama at Talladega Superspeedway for the Sparks 300.

Proudly serving Talladega and the surrounding area for nearly 175 years, the First Bank of Alabama looks to showcase the positive impact it has on its local communities, as it is featured on Hemric’s No. 11 Chevrolet for the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ (NXS) playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway.

“Our desire to partner with Kaulig Racing was driven highly by the reputation they have of giving back and service,” said Chad Jones, President & CEO First Bank of Alabama. “First Bank of Alabama and Kaulig Racing share this philosophy, and it seemed a natural fit for how we will continue to serve our communities. Our mission statement drives how we perform excellence in service through our empowered employees to make a positive impact. We believe that both Daniel and Kaulig Racing can propel our partnership to the top level that our customers and shareholders expect from First Bank of Alabama, and we are proud to be a part of this weekend in our ‘backyard.’”

In addition to its partnership with Hemric and Kaulig Racing, First Bank of Alabama is also teaming up with Talladega Superspeedway to provide over 500 students the opportunity to attend “Driving STEM at Talladega”, an experience First Bank of Alabama has been providing to local middle school students since 2019 to help develop their leadership skills, abilities to communicate, collaborate and problem solve.

“Not only does First Bank of Alabama strive to provide excellent service to its customers, but its local communities as well,” said Chris Rice, president of Kaulig Racing. “Both Kaulig Racing and Daniel have a passion for paying it forward and helping others, which is what makes this partnership such a perfect fit.”

Hemric, currently sitting 10th in the 2022 NXS playoff standings, offers an annual scholarship to students at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College who qualify for financial aid and have chosen a field of study in either motorsports, welding or mechanical engineering.

“This partnership with First Bank of Alabama is special in more ways than one,” said Hemric. “I have had so many people help me throughout my racing career, so to have them as a partner at Kaulig Racing, as well as seeing them giving students the opportunity to find their passion is something that is close to my heart.”

Hemric and First Bank of Alabama will take the green flag at Talladega Superspeedway for the second race of the 2022 NXS playoffs on Saturday, October 1 at 4pm ET on the USA network.

    Sam Mayer
    No. 1 Huck’s Market Chevrolet
    • By virtue of last week’s ninth-place finish, Sam Mayer has clinched a playoff berth heading into the last race of the regular season at Bristol Motor Speedway.
    • Mayer will make his second start at “The Last Great Colosseum.” In this race last season, Mayer led 49 laps before finishing ninth.
    • Bristol is a great track for the 19-year-old Franklin, Wis. native as he won the ARCA Menards Series race and Truck Series race in the same night during the 2020 season.

    Josh Berry
    No. 8 HarrisonsUSA.com Chevrolet
    • In three career starts at half-mile tracks in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Mayer has tallied two top fives, three top 10s, and an average finish of 6.0.
    • Josh Berry made his lone start at Bristol last season as a fillin driver for JRM’s No. 1 team.
    • Berry has made four starts at tracks measuring a half-mile in length in the NXS, tallying one win, one top five and one top 10, while pacing the field for 95 laps.
    • With last week’s seventh-place finish, Berry has now finished inside the top 10 in seven of the last 10 races dating back to Road America in July. He has earned a top 10 in 60% of his 25 starts this season.
    • In his first full-time season in the NXS, Berry sits fifth in the driver standings.

    Noah Gragson
No. 9 Bass Pro Shops / TrueTimber / Black Rifle Coffee Chevrolet
    • Noah Gragson will attempt to become the first JRM driver to win three consecutive races on Friday night at Bristol. Only Chase Elliott (2014), William Byron (2017), Justin Allgaier (2020) and Gragson (2021) have had the opportunity for the team.
    • Over his last seven NXS starts, Gragson has three victories (Pocono, Darlington and Kansas), five top-five and six top-10 finishes.

    • In 21 career NXS starts at the famed short track, Allgaier has earned one win, 10 top fives and 13 top 10s.
    • Additionally, the 856 laps led by Allgaier at Bristol are the most at any track he has competed on in the NXS.
    • Heading into the final race of the regular season, Allgaier currently sits third in the championship standings.
    • With last week’s second-place finish at Kansas, Allgaier has now placed inside the top five in four of the last six races.

    Driver Quotes

“Bristol is one of my best tracks and the one I have had the most success at in the past. This team gave me a really great car last year, and it showed with us racing up front and leading laps. I know this Huck’s Market team is working really hard to bring that same speed this weekend and hopefully we can end the regular season on the right foot and build some momentum for the first round of the playoffs.” – Sam Mayer

“I love Bristol. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the schedule. We’ve come so close to going to Victory Lane here over the past couple of seasons, but just didn’t have circumstances fall in our favor. Hopefully this weekend we can have a smooth, trouble-free day and be up front fighting for the win in the end with our BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet. The playoffs are right around the corner and nothing would be better than to end this regular season on a strong note under the lights on Friday night in Bristol.” – Justin Allgaier

“Last year was a last minute deal for me to run at Bristol, but the track time definitely helped going into this year. We had a good car last year but definitely don’t have the result to show for it. We’ve been pretty strong the last few weeks and I know this team is working their tails off to get us back in Victory Lane. It’s our last chance to get some playoff points and that is the goal for this weekend.” – Josh Berry

“We are getting hot at the right time for the championship. Luke (Lambert, crew chief) and the No. 9 team have been giving me fantastic Chevrolets all season, and we have been turning that into wins here lately. Winning at Bristol was a highlight of my career so far, and winning again Friday night would be even better. It will give us a huge boost heading into the playoffs.” – Noah Gragson

Brandon Jones Named to JR Motorsports 2023 Lineup

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 14, 2022) – There will be a new face behind the wheel of the No. 9 Chevrolet in 2023. JR Motorsports announced today the signing of 25-year-old Brandon Jones to the organization where he’ll compete full time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series next season.

Jones is five-time winner and eight-year veteran in the series who has qualified for the NXS Playoffs in six of the last seven seasons. In addition to his five wins – including a popular victory earlier this year at Martinsville Speedway – Jones claims 35 top-five and 97 top-10 finishes, and a best points effort of sixth in 2020.

“Brandon’s been a tough competitor over the years, and he’s a talented addition to JR Motorsports,” said Kelley Earnhardt Miller, JRM co-owner and general manager. “He’s a series veteran that brings a lot of experience, and we’re going to see big things from Brandon and the 9 team in 2023.”

In 2022, Jones owns one win, five top-five and nine top-10 finishes, and sits seventh in the championship points battle with one race remaining before the onset of the playoffs. He also won three out of four ARCA Menards® Series starts he’s made in 2022.

“To watch how competitive JRM has been over the years is really impressive,” Jones said. “They’re a threat to win every week, and one of the premier teams in our series. I’m so thankful to Dale (Earnhardt Jr.), Kelley and Mr. Hendrick for allowing me to be part of it.

“Reuniting with Chevrolet again is awesome, too. They were a big part of my career early on, and I’m looking forward to building on those relationships and driving a Camaro in 2023.”

Jones has found Victory Lane at every level of NASCAR national series competition in which he’s raced. The Atlanta native lays claim to eight ARCA wins, a K&N East-West Challenge victory and a Truck Series triumph in 2020.

JRM’s No. 9 team has won three championships (2014, 2017-18) and tallied 20 of the company’s 69 overall victories since 2014.

Sponsorship and crew chief duties for Jones and the No. 9 team will be announced at a later date.

    Riley Herbst Notes of Interest

    • Riley Herbst rolls into the NASCAR Xfinity Series regular-season finale Friday night at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway with a new look to his No. 98 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR). The Las Vegas native welcomes a new partner from his hometown to his racing machine for the Food City 300 – Resorts World Las Vegas – adding a pop of color for the final race before the Xfinity Series playoffs begins next Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Resorts World Las Vegas was developed by Genting Berhad, a publicly traded Malaysian corporation registered with the Nevada Gaming Commission. The facility features 3,506 guest rooms and suites, an innovative, next-generation gaming floor, world-class food and beverage options, a 5,000-capacity theatre, distinct nightlife venues, a curated retail collection of designer and boutique shops, and more. The integrated resort weaves time-honored traditions of the international Resorts World brand into the fabric of Las Vegas, introducing a bold, fresh take on hospitality to the city with stunning design, progressive technology and world-class guest service. For more information, visit www.rwlasvegas.com.

    • While the NASCAR Playoffs are built on a “win-and-you’re-in” mentality, Herbst has proven that consistency can also earn a driver a spot in the postseason. The 23-year-old racer arrives at Bristol locked into the Xfinity Series playoffs for the third year in a row. After last Saturday’s penultimate round of the regular season at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Herbst tallied an insurmountable 108-point cushion above the top-12 cutoff. Growth and consistency have been key for Herbst in the first 25 races this season as he’s recorded five top-five finishes and 15 top-10s. He has made the playoffs in each of his fulltime season in the Xfinity Series.

    • In last year’s regular-season finale at Bristol, Herbst raced to a career-best Bristol finish of third. His tenacity, combined with savvy pit calls from crew chief Richard Boswell, put him in the lead for a lap-180 restart, during which he was shuffled back several spots. But Herbst kept his cool and, on the final restart, cars ahead of him scuffled, leaving gaps for him to advance his way up to third, passing Justin Allgaier off turn four on the final lap. He finished just behind the race’s top protagonists, AJ Allmendinger and Austin Cindric, who made contact coming to the checkered flag and spun across the finish line.

    • The Food City 300 will mark Herbst’s fourth career Xfinity Series start at Bristol. In his first start at the track in June 2020, Herbst led four laps and appeared headed for a top-10 finish until an accident took him out just 47 laps shy of the checkered flag. He bounced back in his second start at the track in September 2020 with a solid 10th-place effort before returning last September for a season-best third-place run. Herbst also has three Bristol starts outside of the Xfinity Series – two in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and one in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. His best of those outings was 10th, earned in his first K&N Pro Series start in 2016.

    • In addition to the new partnership with Resorts World Las Vegas this weekend at Bristol, Herbst will also be wearing a pair of Monster Energy green skeleton gloves as part of the Driven to Give Glove Program with the Dale Jr. Foundation. The initiative is back for the first time since 2020 and it supports Nationwide Children’s Hospital and its efforts to help courageous patients and their families in areas of pediatric injury rehabilitation, research and cancer prevention. After being worn in the Xfinity Series regular-season finale, Herbst will autograph his gloves and put them up for auction at www.thedalejrfoundation.org from Friday night through Sept. 23.

Riley Herbst, Driver of the No. 98 Resorts World Las Vegas Ford Mustang

This is the first weekend that Resorts World Las Vegas will be showcased on your No. 98 Ford Mustang. Talk about what bringing a new partner on board means to you and the team.

“I’m pumped to have Resorts World Las Vegas on my No. 98 Ford Mustang this weekend. It’s obviously a hometown company for me, which means the world to have their support. They got connected with us through my partners at Baja Vida Snacks, so you’ll see them this weekend, as well, with Resorts World on my car and Baja Vida Beef Jerky visible through my in-car camera. It’s cool to see these companies work together to support my career. Can’t thank them enough.”

You’ve repeatedly talked about Bristol being your favorite track on the Xfinity Series schedule. What is it about this short track that appeals to you?

“I think it’s just short-track racing, in general. Most of the guys in the garage will say this, but these types of tracks take us back to our roots. Bristol is obviously unique with its layout, but I think it still has the same elements as other short tracks. That track is hectic. It’s so crazy. It’s so fast. It’s a little half-mile, and it’s high-banked. It’s so much fun to go and battle there and rub some fenders. I’m excited to head back to Bristol after our third-place run last year. To think, if we had just had another corner, we could’ve been the ones in victory lane last September.”

This is the final race before the Xfinity Series playoffs begins next weekend at Texas. What is your mindset going into this weekend knowing that you’ve already secured a playoff berth?

“There’s nothing to lose. We’re locked in on points, so we can just focus on winning. That’s always been our focus, but ultimately the playoffs is the bigger picture and that’s how you have to race. We wouldn’t come out and race every weekend if I didn’t think we could compete for a championship. We’ve seen consistency win championships before and I feel like we’ve shown that speed and consistency this year. Bristol’s a good track for us, so I think we’ll be a contender at the end.”
