Jeremy Clements Racing to partner with Western Wishes and Tuff Hedeman to ride the RepairableVehicles.com No. 51 machine to the front at Texas Motor Speedway.

Spartanburg SC – Jeremy and JCR are pleased to announce that will they serve host to Western Wishes’ 11-year-old Kaleb Dorr this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway with the help of 4-Time World Champion and Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer Tuff Hedeman.

Kaleb Dorr suffers from TAR, Thrombocytopenia Absent Radius Syndrome, a rare recessive genetic syndrome that causes a unique blood disorder and limb deformities. When you look at Kaleb, you don’t see a little boy with a handicap; you see a pint-sized cowboy that has defied all the odds. After enduring 10 surgeries (with more to come) and over 200 plasma transfusions, this cowboy’s positive outlook on life remains remarkable. He wants nothing more than to be a team roper and a calf roper when he grows up. Kaleb is happy, outgoing, and is the first one to tell you “it’ll be ok” when someone else is faced with adversity

“Man, we are really excited to have Kaleb ride along with us this weekend and, also help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Western Wishes.  Thanks to my friend Tuff Hedeman and his group we get to give Kaleb a ride of his life this weekend.” Clements stated. “Western Wishes does an awesome job of turning dreams in to lasting memories and I can’t wait to meet Kaleb and his family and create more memories as we take our fast RepairableVehicles.com hot-rod to the front.”  Clements went on to say.

“Thanks to my buddy Jeremy Clements will have the opportunity to introduce Kaleb to NASCAR in a way most kids just dream about.  Jeremy and I know that through these experiences if we are lucky, we might just have the chance to ignite hope, and strength for Kaleb and just let him have a little fun before he faces the reality of his disease again,” said Hedeman who granted Kaleb’s wish of meeting him in 2017.

Jeremy Clements will flashback to the 60s with this Outta Sight Gold Thunder design 4 Throwback weekend

Spartanburg, SC – Jeremy Clements Racing is excited to announce that they will run the 1960 Cup Champion Rex White’s “Gold Thunder” paint scheme in the VFW200 at Darlington Raceway “Celebrating 7 Decades of NASCAR” Labor Day Weekend. RepairableVehicles.com will fuel the #51 Camaro SS to honor not only White but moreover, Jeremy’s Great Uncle Louis Clements.

Louie Clements was a renowned engine builder and crew chief in the late 50’s and 60’s and in 1959 partnered with Rex White to form White and Clements Racing. From 1959 to 1962 White and Clements Racing accumulated 26 Cups wins. Topped off by winning the 1960 Grand National Championship with 2015 Hall of Famer inductee Rex White behind the wheel. With this being the VFW 200 this also holds special remembrance as both Louie and Crawford were veterans of World War II.

“It’s so awesome to honor my Great Uncle Louie (Clements) this year as he had a great impact not only on our family racing history but also NASCAR,” stated Clements. “Darlington is one of my favorite tracks and what better way to pay tribute on throwback weekend by sticking with Family Tradition.” Clements went onto say.

  • Five Drivers to be Excited for in the 2018 XFINITY Series

Five Drivers to be Excited for in the 2018 XFINITY Series

With the 2018 NASCAR XFINITY Series right around the corner, several changes in the driver roster have been made, many of which bring the promise of success for several drivers. The season promises to be one for the series regulars as the talent that these five drivers bring will be sure to bring much-needed change to the division.

Christopher Bell – Joe Gibbs Racing

One year after scoring the 2017 Camping World Truck Series title for Kyle Busch Motorsports as well as his first XFINITY Series win at Kansas, the 23-year-old Oklahoman is shaping up to be the next big thing in the XFINITY Series. Bell has got the world on a string; backing from Toyota Racing Development and Joe Gibbs Racing, the best equipment in his hands, and all the talent afforded to young racers.

He’s garnered a lot of success over his young racing career, scoring trophies on dirt and asphalt, and he will earn more wins in ’18. His path mirrors that of his predecessor, 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year Erik Jones, so it’s a safe bet that like his predecessor, Bell is only getting started.

    Elliott Sadler – JR Motorsports

To put it out there, Sadler is angry. He is sick and tired of being a bridesmaid. After rejoining the XFINITY ranks in 2011, he’s achieved a great deal of success, but he’s managed to lose the championship in more ways than Dale Sr. lost the Daytona 500.

His incident with Ryan Preece at Homestead could mark a change in the veteran; one that’s more determined and aggressive than ever before. It’s no question Sadler can take his JRM Chevy to the front. But can he keep it there long enough to finally seal the deal and score his first-ever NASCAR championship? It’ll be fun to watch.

Jeremy Clements – Jeremy Clements Racing

Winning at Road America in 2017 was the shot in the arm this program needed. Sure, they were among the first eliminated in the Playoffs, but they scored a career-best 12th-place in the points, which isn’t bad for any stretch for an underdog owner/driver combination.

Considering that JCR is still among the underfunded teams in the garage, Clements can’t afford to be as aggressive as other drivers. He didn’t match his average finish from 2016 (20th to 2017’s 22.1) or his 2016 top-10 total (three to 2017’s two), but look for this program to continue its growth on the track and put itself in position for a banner season.

John Hunter Nemechek – Chip Ganassi Racing

Finally. That’s what the rest of the NASCAR garage was thinking when CGR announced that they had signed Nemechek to a partial schedule in the flagship No. 42 Chevrolet. Considering his performance in his father’s truck since 2013, it’s a wonder why he wasn’t signed sooner. Nemechek put the NEMCO truck into Victory Lane five times, finishing a career-high eighth in points in 2016 and 2017.

Nemechek isn’t a particularly aggressive driver and manages to take care of his equipment better than most, which has led to his quiet consistency on track. Considering that NEMCO isn’t the cream of the crop in terms of equipment, the fact that Nemechek won and was a contender on a regular basis should bode well for his time with CGR.

    Tyler Reddick – JR Motorsports

Reddick will be taking over the No. 9, piloted to the 2017 series championship by William Byron, who will be a Cup Series rookie in 2018. Reddick’s first venture into the XFINITY Series did prove fruitful in 2017, where he scored two poles, six top-10s, four top-fives, and a win at Kentucky.

Reddick is strong and has won on various disciplines of tracks such as superspeedways, one-mile speedways, and mile-and-a-half tracks. He’s also fared well on road courses and short tracks, having finished sixth at Mosport in 2016 and scoring multiple top-fives and top-10s on short tracks in his truck and XFINITY career.

Several other storylines will develop as the season progresses toward Homestead-Miami, with many surprises and busts bound to happen. But with all that aside, these are the five drivers to watch in the 2018 NASCAR XFINITY Series.

  • Jeremy Clements Savors Success While Preparing for Playoffs

Jeremy Clements Savors Success While Preparing for Playoffs

DARLINGTON, S.C. — Once in awhile, a particular driver catches your eye and you think to yourself, this one has possibilities.

In April 2014, I wrote, ‘Jeremy Clements’ recipe for success is a combination of talent, tenacity and mathematical wizardry. Throw some sponsorship dollars and a little luck into the mix and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him standing in victory lane.’

Almost 3 1/2 years later, Clements finally captured his first career XFINITY win at Road America and I can’t help but feel a sense of pride in his accomplishments.

For him, it’s a childhood dream come true.

“It’s what a lot of people dream about, myself included,” Clements told me, “competing and then winning a race in the next level. I’m extremely pleased. And obviously it makes me want more, so I can taste it again. Hopefully, it’s the first of many.”

That sweet taste of success in a national series was a long time coming. He began racing go-karts when he was seven-years-old, thanks to his grandfather, Crawford Clements.

“My grandfather was a crew chief for Rex White and Buck Baker in the 1960s,” Clements said, “and they won a championship. So he’s the one who got all this started. It was very special. He was in his upper 60s at that time and I learned a ton from him. He’s the reason I started racing. He was very smart and he could figure out how to make cars go faster. He was always a whiz with carburetors. We could use him today, I promise you that.

“He passed away in ‘96 from lung cancer when I was about 11; I owe it all to him. I know he’s smiling down from heaven and I can’t wait to talk to him one day about all this and how it went down. I’m sure he’s proud of me.”

Clements won 47 feature events in go-karts before moving on to dirt track racing. He began racing four cylinders on dirt in 1999 and over the next three years, he scored wins in over 50 feature events as well as two track championships.

In 2002, he began competing in the Late Model division winning nine races and the championship at Cherokee Speedway. On October 25, 2002, Clements made his first ARCA Series start at Talladega Superspeedway.

The following year he competed in Late Models and made five more starts in the ARCA Series with three top-10 finishes. His first start in the XFINITY Series came in 2003 when Clements was 18-years-old. In 2011 he began competing full-time in the series with a career total of one win, two top fives and 13 top 10s in 257 starts.

Those numbers take on more significance when you realize that Jeremy Clements Racing is a small family-owned team with limited funding and a full-time staff of only four people.

While Clements is basking in the afterglow of a trip to Victory Lane, he’s focused on what comes next – the Playoffs.

“We’re trying to get ready for the Playoffs and trying to learn as much as we can to apply toward Kentucky, Dover, Charlotte,” Clements said. “Those are the first three and we want to try to make it to the next round, we don’t want to be a team that gets knocked out in the first round of the playoffs.”

Their game plan is simple. It includes “not making any mistakes and finishing each race,” he explained. “Some of those guys are gonna have problems. They’ll wreck trying to race each other and if we can just be smart, be there at the end, get a good finish and I think we can possibly move on to the next round.”

To say it’s been a year to remember is quite the understatement. In addition to the NASCAR XFINITY Series victory, Clements also got married in May. He doesn’t know what impact the win will have on his future but he is certain of one thing.

“I’m very blessed to be able to do both in the same year, that’s pretty dang cool,” he said. “I’ll never forget this year regardless of what happens.”

  • Jeremy Clements ‘shocked’ after winning first race in thriller at Road America

Jeremy Clements ‘shocked’ after winning first race in thriller at Road America

    By Staff Report | NASCAR.com

The battle for victory in Sunday’s Johnsonville 180 at Road America came down to a pair of drivers who have never won a NASCAR XFINITY Series race.

But it was Jeremy Clements’ day to shock the world by earning his first career win after 256 XFINITY starts.

“I don’t even know what to say,” Clements said in Victory Lane. “I’m just shocked.”

It came down to a breathtaking showdown between Clements and Matt Tifft in the closing laps. Clements gave up the lead with nine laps remaining after trying to stretch out his fuel with the hopes of catching a late-race caution, relinquishing the lead to Tifft.

But that wasn’t the last we would hear from Clements. Four fresh Goodyear tires allowed him to rocket back to the front and challenge the 21-year-old Joe Gibbs Racing driver.

With two laps remaining, Clements and Tifft made contact which sent them both spinning as Clements attempted a pass for the lead. Clements was able to quickly get back on track and take the lead away.

“I want to say sorry to Matt Tifft,” Clements added. “I definitely didn’t mean to spin him out there. I got in there hot and we collided. That was my fault, that was definitely not his fault.”

“Obviously, no matter what, it’s tough,” Tifft said. “I wish we could have raced it out to the last lap. It’s tough to come that close.”

With the victory, the 32-year-old from Spartanburg, S.C. is now locked into the 12-driver XFINITY Series playoffs.

James Davison, driving the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, quickly took the lead away from pole-sitter Austin Cindric on the first lap of the race.

Davison ran away with Stage 1, leading nine of the 10 laps and beating second-place Justin Marks by more than two seconds. Cindric, Brennan Poole and Just Allgaier rounded out the top five.

Davison was later busted for speeding on pit road during pit stops at the stage break, while Cindric spent an extended amount of time on pit road repairing front-end damage suffered from contact with Marks in Stage 1.

Elliott Sadler, who was among many drivers who stayed out to gain track position after the first stage, jumped out to the lead for the first time in Stage 2.

But it was Daniel Hemric who took the lead away from Sadler on the restart following a Lap 14 caution for Ryan Sieg. Hemric was able to hold on to win the second 10-lap stage.

Leading the race, Hemric’s strong day turned into heartbreak after he received a pit-road speeding penalty during a round of pit stops in the final stage. Hemric led 10 laps prior to the misfortune.

Multiple cars were involved in a huge dustup toward the front of the field during the final lap of Stage 2 after Ross Chastain made contact with Marks, sending him sliding into Davison.

After leading 11 of the first 20 laps, Davison was forced to retire from the race due to a cracked radiator.

The XFINITY Series will be back in action for NASCAR’s throwback weekend at Darlington Raceway with the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200 (3:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, MRN, SiriusXM).

  • Jeremy Clements Captures Career-Best Finish at Talladega

Jeremy Clements Captures Career-Best Finish at Talladega

Jeremy Clements survived a tumultuous finish at Talladega Superspeedway to snare a career-best finish of fourth place in the Sparks Energy 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series race and win the Mobil 1 Driver of the Race award.

The driver of the No. 51 Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet/BRTExtrusions Chevrolet with new sponsor Signs and Displays Direct (SDD) drove from a 34th starting position to lead seven laps and contend for the win. The race ended under caution in overtime when Joey Logano made contact with leader Elliott Sadler, sending Logano into the outside wall.

Clements’ fourth place result moved him up three positions to 13th place in the championship standings. In 209 XFINITY starts, his previous best finish was sixth at Road America in 2014.

The top five is a career defining moment for this small family-owned team. Jeremy Clements Racing (JCR) only has two full-time and three part-time employees but what they lack in numbers, they make up for with dedication.

They have a rich history entrenched in NASCAR. Clements is the grandson of Crawford Clements, acclaimed engine builder, and the nephew of crew chief Louis Clements who won a championship with NASCAR Hall of Famer Rex White in 1960. Their engine development program continues today under the leadership of his father and uncle at Clements Automotive Racing. They play a vital role in the team’s success by supplying the engines for the No. 51 Chevy.

Clements has an affinity for Talladega and heading into the race, he commented on the unpredictable nature of the track.

“There’s nothing like Talladega,” he said. “We always seem to run well there. In 2013, we scored a Top 10. In 2014, we led but with six laps to go, got clipped in the right rear and sent into the wall. I think we were running seventh or eighth at that point and moving forward.  The car got pretty well wrecked, but at least we got our sponsors some face time on TV that day. They’re back with us for this weekend, so hopefully, we can get them some more exposure, but for the right reasons this time.”

Clements’ hopes were realized Saturday and he was ecstatic after the race. I spoke with him about the significance of the top five finish, both personally and for his team.

“I’m pretty excited for sure with our career-best finish,” he said. “It was a lotta fun and I am glad we survived typical plate racing, push the guy that is in front of you for all it’s worth. Great race for us, needed (it) a lot, ‘cause we have been struggling with bump stops, so it gives a great boost to our three-man team.”

Clements is hopeful that it will be the catalyst needed to bring more sponsorship to the underfunded JCR organization, saying, “Definitely, this could help getting our foot in the door with new sponsors.”

He is also confident that his fourth place finish at Talladega will give his team “momentum going into Dover in a couple of weeks.” It’s a track where they have put together good runs in the past, including a top 10 last year.

The series returns to the track May 14 at Dover International Speedway as Clements and the No. 51 team continue to pursue their goal of making it into the top 12 to compete in the first elimination-style Chase for the XFINITY Series.

Jeremy Clements Racing and the Delaware Office of Highway Safety (OHS) are teaming up at Dover International Speedway in the Hisense 200 Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, to remind fans to Drive Sober and Arrive Alive. The OHS is challenging fans to make smart choices and plan ahead when deciding how to get home after a party or happy hour.

Jeremy’s No. 51 Chevrolet Camaro SS Team Clements “Drive Sober” car theme and  message will be promoting alternative ways of getting home besides driving after drinking, such as taking a taxi, Uber, Lyft, calling a sober friend or taking public transit. Jeremy has two career Top 10s in 10 career starts at the Monster Mile with the last one coming earlier this year.

Race weekend at Dover Speedway the OHS will be reminding fans that driving under the influence of alcohol is not only dangerous, it’s illegal. The OHS will have an interactive display in the Monster Mile FanZone where race fans can pledge to either always drive sober or be a designated driver. Fans can test and compare their motor skills against Jeremy in various games such as simulated impaired cornhole and the impaired tricycle track. Jeremy Clements will also make guest appearances at the display to meet with fans and sign autographs. • Jeremy Clements Chasing Best Season of his Career

Jeremy Clements Chasing Best Season of his Career

Jeremy Clements is in the midst of his best season since he began racing full-time in the XFINITY Series in 2011. He is currently 11th in the points standings, chasing Ryan Reed who is 66 points ahead in 10th place.

Eleventh place may not seem like anything to brag about until you realize that everyone ahead of him has Sprint Cup backing. Surrounded by names like Roush Fenway Racing, JR Motorsports, Richard Childress Racing and Joe Gibbs Racings, Jeremy Clements Racing is David to their Goliath.

This small organization is based out of their hometown, Spartanburg, South Carolina and is owned by Clements and his father, Tony. Another family business, Clements Automotive, provides the racing engines for the team.

Building their own engines cuts their costs and, as Clements explains, is “really the only reason we can race.”

Clements, driving his No. 51 Chevrolet, has eight career top-10s including a 10th at Dover International Raceway in May. He has also earned nine top-15s this year showing a consistency that has been missing in previous seasons. His previous best ranking at year end was 14th in 2012.

The improvement this year, says Clements, is because “We’ve had more sponsorship here and there to buy the things we need to make the cars better. We’re running the R07 engines this year that we built over the winter time, just running better stuff and not having parts failures.”

“It’s not like I’ve just started figuring out how to drive better,” he quipped, “our equipment is better.”

While most of their earnings are funneled back into the team, more sponsorship has enabled them to elevate the team to a more competitive level.

“We race off the purse and when we have more funding available, we use it to buy tires and for upgrades. Jim Sealy with US Petroleum and guys like AllSouthElectric.com, St. Clair Foods and  RepairableVehicles.com have helped us out a lot.”

“It’s a money game,” Clements continued, “and all the big teams are in the top 10 and to beat them is really hard to do. Eleventh is wonderful. All we can do is keep trying to improve and doing the best we can.”

As Clements works toward breaking into the top 10 in points, his competitive season has caught the eye of a new sponsor.

“We’ll have a big sponsor for Dover (International Speedway), the Dover DOT, the biggest sponsor we’ve ever had. It’s exciting and I’m looking forward to see what we can do there.”

Though family owned teams are rare in today’s NASCAR, Jeremy Clements Racing is proof of what can be accomplished with talent, determination and perseverance.

  • Jeremy Clements to Return Full Time in 2015 XFINITY Series

Jeremy Clements to Return Full Time in 2015 XFINITY Series

Jeremy Clements Racing (JCR) announced today that the team will run full time in the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series, with Jeremy Clements driving the No. 51 Chevrolet.

This will be the fifth full time season for the single car, family owned team. Clements closed out the 2014 season 15th in the point standings, with two top-10 finishes at Road America and Daytona.

“The 2014 season was the best season for us so far,” said Clements. “We are looking to build on what we accomplished last year and hope to make this season even better.”

The team continues to pursue marketing partners for the season, and announcements of those partnerships will be made at a later date.
