    QUOTES

Carl Edwards on racing at Iowa Speedway:   “The race track is just north of where I live. I have a lot of friends in the Des Moines area. I am excited to go up there and be able to compete for the win. This race would be very special for me to win.  I think all the drivers would agree that this race has a really high energy level. The fans are race savvy and they know racing up there in Iowa . I am going to do my best to go back and forth to get some practice in. If I can’t we will have Brian Ickler and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. there and they have agreed to help me get my car set up.”

Crew chief Mike Beam on racing at Iowa Speedway:   “We are coming off a great win in Dover. We will look to carry that momentum into Iowa . Since Carl is also racing in the All-Star race in Charlotte this weekend, we will have Brian Ickler and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to help us get Carl’s Mustang set up for him. We look to get this Mustang back in victory lane for back-to-back wins. “

    Leffler on Iowa Speedway

“You can’t really compare this track to anywhere else we go throughout the year. Turns one and two are pretty bumpy so that is something you have to work on throughout practice. It’s like a short track in length, but it’s also very fast, which makes it unique and challenging in itself. I have finished third each time I’ve been there so I feel pretty confident in our chances there this weekend. We have a large group of Great Clipsemployees from the corporate headquarters in Minneapolis coming and we would love nothing more than to be able to take every single one of them into victory lane with us this weekend!”

REED SORENSONQUICK FACTS No. 32 Dollar General Chevy Iowa Speedway John Deere Dealers 250 May 22, 2011

    ·         Spirits High After “Monster Mile” Finish -Reed Sorenson posted a third-place finish last weekend at Dover International Speedway, his highest of the 2011 season.  This adds to his stats which includes three top-five and seven top-10 finishes, along with six laps led in 11 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) starts.  Sorenson boasts an average start of 12.1 and an average finish of 10.5.  The Dover finish moved Sorenson into the second spot in the driver championship point standings, just 10 behind the leader.

    ·         Sorenson at Iowa Speedway- Sorenson has only one start at the .875-mile Iowa short-track which came last season.  After starting 27th, Sorenson had moved up to the 12th position before losing a right-front tire unexpectedly, only 41 laps into the event.  He finished 36th.

    ·         Statistically Speaking – While he boasts solid statistics across the board, Sorenson has risen to the top of three of NASCAR’s Loop Data statistic lists.  Sorenson is the top Nationwide Series-only driver (second overall) in both the Fastest Driver on Restarts and Quality Passes categories.  Sorenson also leads all drivers in the Pass Differential category with a 51, meaning he has passed more cars (676) than have passed him (625) under green-flag conditions.

    ·         Nationwide Notes – In 11 (NNS) races in 2011, Turner Motorsports-prepared entries have notched one win, nine top-five and 24 top-10 finishes. Reed Sorenson, driver of the No. 32 Dollar General Chevrolet is currently second in the driver point standings and trails leader Elliott Sadler by a slim 10-point margin. Nationwide Series staple Jason Leffler is five points behind Sorenson, in third, while Justin Allgaier, driver of the No. 31 Brandt Chevy Impala fell to fifth after a tough outing last weekend at Dover International Speedway. Still, with an exceptionally tight battle amongst the top five in points, the Riverton, Ill., native is three points behind Leffler, eight back from Sorenson and just 18 markers outside the top spot.

    ·         Heading Out to the Chevy Display -On Sunday morning, Sorenson will join teammate James Buescher at the Chevy display at 11:15 a.m. for a short autograph and Q&A session.  The Chevy display is located behind the grandstands by the main entrance gate at Iowa Speedway.

    ·         This Week’s Impala – This weekend, Sorenson will pilot TMS-115 in the John Deere Dealers 250 at Iowa Speedway. This car has been on track at Phoenix and Richmond this season, finishing fifth and 12th respectively, and was the car of choice for the Goodyear tire test at Iowa in April.

Sorenson on heading to Iowa Speedway: “I haven’t had a whole lot of seat time at Iowa so I’m pretty excited we were able to do the tire test there in April.  I’m definitely excited to go back because the track is such a great facility and because I’m not real happy with the result the last time we were there, with losing that right front tire so early in the race.  We are bringing a good car this weekend and it’s the same one we had at the tire test.  Everyone on this Dollar General team is excited to keep the momentum rolling after that great finish we had at Dover.  I think if we can get our car dialed in that well again, there will be more good finishes to come – and maybe even a trip to victory lane.  I’m excited to see those stands packed again at Iowa and I’m hopeful we can put on a good show for the fans on Sunday.”

  • DeLana Harvick’s Advice for Women in Business: Be Who You Are

DeLana Harvick, co-owner of Kevin Harvick, Inc., was recently recognized as an extraordinary businesswoman and for her outstanding contributions to her profession by The Business Journal at their 12th annual Women in Business Awards ceremony.

While Harvick was flattered, as well as surprised to be counted in such great company, she shared just one piece of advice to all women in business, “Be who you are.”

“Honestly, it caught me off guard,” Harvick said of her award. “I was really honored to be included in such an impressive group of women.”

“When I got there, I really enjoyed learning about all the other accomplishments that these fourteen women had made in their lives,” Harvick continued. “Accolades and awards, it’s not that they don’t mean much to me, they do. But in order to be included in such an impressive group actually means more to me.”

“The awards are really flattering, but I would say to anyone, just be you,” Harvick said. “Be who you are.”

Harvick was nominated for the award by UNC Greensboro, where she graduated from college. She was specifically honored for turning a negative, the wearing of the fire suit issue, into a positive, using the controversy to develop a T-shirt which raised money for charity.

Harvick’s role in the sport of NASCAR was also honored, particularly as a female team owner in a primarily male-dominated sport.

“To me, I grew up in the sport so I never really viewed this as a male-dominated sport,” Harvick said. “Clearly it has been in the past, but in the last ten years or so you can see the impact that women have had in the sport from the business side and even women engineers and drivers.”

“This was where I was going to be whether it was male-dominated or not.”

Harvick has indeed been involved in the sport, growing up in fact as the only daughter of a racer. Her father, John Paul Linville, was a contractor by profession but a racer by passion, sinking all of his earnings into his race car and shop.

“When I grew up and my dad raced in the Nationwide/Late Model Sportsman/Busch Grand National Series, we didn’t have a lot of money,” Harvick said. “My dad was a contractor and what he was able to put into the racing is what he made. There were no sponsors so I really learned a whole different side of the business based on how I grew up in the sport.”

“I spotted for my dad and I did the travel,” Harvick continued. “I learned by just having to do.”

“I’m a doer and I think that has played a big part into why Kevin and I and KHI are successful because we both grew up that way,” Harvick said. “We both had to do things and were not handed things.”

Before KHI was even a glimmer in anyone’s eyes, however, DeLana Harvick as she was growing up wanted to be a racer herself.

“Growing up I always envisioned myself racing,” Harvick said. “But my dad was a very old-school, Southern kind of guy. Women didn’t do that at the time.”

“My dad was quite surprised with my level of determination about racing,” Harvick continued. “I definitely didn’t grow up the Southern belle that I think he may have wanted. So, I pushed and pushed and pushed but it just wasn’t something that he was willing let me do.”

“Our deal was that if I graduated college, he would get me a car,” Harvick said. “Well, he got me a chassis so I had to build me a car and that took, between trying to work and everything else, a couple of years after I graduated.”

“And at that point, I had met Kevin and really my life was in a different place,” Harvick continued. “So, it just never worked out for me.”

“I did run a late model and my dad and Kevin were both there at the time,” Harvick said. “But I don’t think either one of them could have taken it with their nerves. They just couldn’t bear it.”

“It never worked out and that’s okay,” Harvick said. “I think it was probably meant to be.”

Rather than being behind the wheel, Harvick graduated college and went to work interning at Performance PR Plus. She shadowed the staff who handled Jeff Gordon’s public relations at the height of the Gordon frenzy which she acknowledges was a great learning experience.

“I think that has served me well and I think I’ve probably gained the respect of people in this sport,” Harvick said. “I started out in PR so I certainly knew a lot of the media at that time. But I also knew a lot of the crew members, owners, and drivers because I had grown up in the sport.”

In addition to her mother and father, Harvick also credits role model, mentor and friend Richard Childress as one of the most important influences in her life.

“Richard (Childress) has been a very, very integral part of what Kevin and I have done,” Harvick said. “He’s always had the door open.”

“He could have easily have seen this as a distraction for Kevin but he hasn’t,” Harvick continued. “Richard has embraced everything that we’ve done and for that we have truly been fortunate.”

Harvick says that her other role models have been her parents, both of whom she admires for their passion and determination, especially after her father’s diagnosis of cancer when she was a young girl.

“When I was twelve, my dad was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer and they told him he only had six months to live,” Harvick said. “Well, he lived for over twenty years.”

“So, I think that spirit of pushing forward no matter what the challenges are, whether an illness or not having as much money as the guy parked next to you in the pits, is just to continue to press forward,” Harvick continued. “I learned so much from my dad in that aspect that really helped me in everything that I do.”

Although Harvick’s father passed away in November 2005, she is still quite close with her mother, who lives nearby her home and the race shop.

“While my dad went through his treatment, my mother had to work in order to support the family,” Harvick said. “I actually had gone to NC State for school and then came home because I had to take my dad to treatments while my mom worked.”

“I really admire my mom’s strength,” Harvick continued. “She is way more outgoing and fun-loving than I am. I’m more straightforward and focused like my dad. I admire that about her.”

Harvick has also learned from her parents, as well as through her own experience, that dealing with challenges is one of life’s most important lessons. She also credits having supports around her as a key element to her success.

“I have good days and bad days and some turn out better than others,” Harvick said. “You have to surround yourself with good people and come to the realization that you cannot do it all.”

What’s next for this accomplished woman, who has not only built her own career but also a thriving race team business?

“A lot of people assume that Cup has to be the next step,” Harvick said. “That’s interesting to me and I certainly believe that KHI has built a foundation that could support that.”

“Whether that happens or not, I don’t know,” Harvick continued. “I believe it has to be the right situation and the right time and place. And certainly sponsorship plays a huge part in that.”

“More than anything I think KHI solidifies our place in the sport,” Harvick said. “At some point when Kevin stops driving, and he will, we still have an avenue to be involved in a sport that we’re both passionate about.”

“So, I think that’s what I’m most proud of,” Harvick said. “You have to live out your dreams and do what makes you happy and what you’re passionate about, because you only get a chance to do this once.”

Cope Twins to Try and Make NASCAR History Again in 2011; Will Attempt First Nationwide Series Starts at Iowa Speedway

Odyssey® Batteries by EnerSys® Steps Up Again as Co-Sponsor of Twins; Joined by Warrior Energy, Other Sponsors of Nieces of Daytona 500 Champ Derrike Cope

[media-credit name=”HB&M Sports” align=”alignright” width=”252″][/media-credit]MOORESVILLE, NC May 11, 2011 – After rewriting the NASCAR history books last year, the Cope Twins – Angela and Amber – plan to add another chapter by becoming the first twins to compete in a NASCAR Nationwide Series race – on Sunday, May 22, at Iowa Speedway.

The duet, which made history last season by becoming the first twins to ever race against each other in one of NASCAR’s top three divisions by competing in a Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville last October, make their return to NASCAR at the beautiful 7/8-mile tri-oval in Newton, IA, just 30 miles east off Des Moines, IA.

The twins, nieces of 1990 Daytona 500 Champion Derrike Cope, will be driving for a new team in Keystone Motorsports. Amber will pilot a No. 93 Ford while Angela will behind the wheel of a No. 94 Chevrolet. The team plans to also run the Nationwide Series race at Kentucky Speedway in July, with hopes of competing in more races later in 2011.

ODYSSEY® batteries (http://www.odysseybattery.com/), which served as a major sponsor for their history making run at Martinsville, is back again as a co-primary on both cars to support the 27-year-olds from Puyallup, Washington, in their Nationwide Series debut. The ODYSSEY® battery logo will occupy the hood and TV panel on one car while the other will have ODYSSEY® battery logos on the rear quarter panels and rear deck lid.

Joining ODYSSEY® batteries as corporate supporters are: Warrior Energy (www.drinkwarrior.com), an all natural, low calorie, low glycemic tea-based drink company; El’le Hydro Salon Specialties ), a leader in personal care products; Matrix System Automotive Finishes (www.matrixsys.com), which are high performance, low cost automotive paint products; and Xinergy (http://www.xinergycorp.com/), a coal mining company in Kentucky and West Virginia.

“Without ODYSSEY® batteries we would not have been able to make our first NASCAR start at Martinsville,” said Angela Cope. “Now they are back in a larger role, plus we have many others who are supporting us and we can’t say ‘thanks’ enough. We now have another opportunity to make a name for ourselves in the sport. We have a solid, young team with good equipment and feel this is just the beginning for us in the sport.”

“This is what Angela and I have wanted to do since we were nine years old racing go carts,” added Amber. “When we moved here to North Carolina six years ago, our goal was to race stock cars. Now is our chance. We can’t wait to get to Iowa.”

“They kept their noses clean last year at Martinsville,” said Derrike, who has been both a mentor and coach to the twins in their goal to make it in NASCAR. “They were patient during the race, got some track time and finished 26th (Amber) and 30th (Angela). They have the talent and need this opportunity.”

The Twins’ resume includes countless go-cart victories and multiple championships. Since moving east they have competed in super late models and ARCA.

Opening practice for the Iowa race is set for Friday, May 20, with qualifying on Saturday, May 21, at 4:40 p.m. (EST). The race gets the green flag on Sunday, May 22, at 2 p.m. (EST).

  • Austin Dillon No. 33 Nationwide Series Advance: Iowa Speedway

Austin Dillon No. 33 Nationwide Series Advance: Iowa Speedway

DILLON READY FOR IOWA: Austin Dillon and the No. 33 Rheem team head to Newton, Iowa for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Iowa Speedway. Sunday’s race will mark Dillon’s second start with the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team. The young driver made his first start in the No. 33 Chevrolet Impala in April at Nashville Superspeedway where he captured his career-best series qualifying effort with a third-place starting position. Dillon finished the event seventh.

IOWA SUCCESS: This weekend’s race will be Dillon’s second Nationwide Series start at the 0.875-mile facility. In 2009, he qualified 16th and finished in the 28th position. The 21-year-old is no stranger to success, however, at Iowa. In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race last season, Dillon started from the pole and went on to lead a dominating 187 of 250 laps on his way to victory lane.

He’s also gained solid experience in other racing series at Iowa. The driver has two top-10 finishes in two starts (2009, 2008) in the K&N Pro Series East. In 2009, Dillon also competed in the ARCA Racing Series event at Iowa where he started in the 30th position and finished second.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 Rheem team has prepared chassis No. 066 for this weekend’s event at Iowa Speedway. The KHI team has competed with this chassis in three events this season with top-10 results. KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick drove this chassis to a third-place finish at Phoenix International Raceway in February and to a sixth-place finish at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway back in March. Driver Paul Menard piloted this particular chassis to a second-place finish at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway on April 29.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Clint Bowyer walked away unharmed from a wild late-race accident at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, which sent the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet sliding on its side before making contact with the inside wall that separates the track from pit road. Rain caused NASCAR to set the field for the 200-lap event per the rule book, which determined the starting lineup according to practice speeds. Bowyer started the race from the third position and kept the No. 33 Rheem machine in the top-five for most of the event. The race went into overtime after an accident brought out the caution flag with two laps to go in the scheduled 200-lap window. The driver was in the third position as the lead cars approached the white flag on the second attempt at a green-white-checkered finish. The driver running in second place made contact with Bowyer which caused the wild accident and subsequently ended the race. The No. 33 was scored with a 14th-place finish.

    THOUGHTS FROM DILLON ON IOWA:

What are your thoughts on racing at Iowa?

“Iowa is a track I’ve really adapted to. It’s far away from home, but it feels like home because I’ve been there so many times and the fans are always so supportive. The track has a lot of character. There is a little bump in turn one so you have to get your car working through there, and then in turns three and four, you drive all the way up to the wall. That contrast creates a really good racing environment, with two and three-wide racing.”

James Buescher to pilot the No. 30 Fraternal Order of Eagles Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series events at Iowa Speedway and Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 16, 2011) – Turner Motorsports is pleased to announce that longtime marketing partner, Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE), will take center stage as primary sponsor of the team’s No. 30 Chevrolet Impala in two upcoming NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) events. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) young-gun, James Buescher, will pilot the Fraternal Order of Eagles Impala, extending his limited NNS schedule, to include both the May event at Iowa Speedway and the July event at Lucas Oil Raceway Park at Indianapolis.

A staple in the Nationwide Series garage, the FOE logo has adorned entries in the series in every race since 2005. Enhancing their racing program in 2011 with a stronger marketing push, the international non-profit organization will hold primary sponsorship in two races, in addition to a feature spot on all of Turner Motorsports’ NNS and NCWTS entries. The FOE colors have proved good luck for the organization’s drivers, with Kelly Bires bringing the FOE entry to a fifth-place finish at Iowa Speedway in 2009. Current Turner Motorsports driver, Jason Leffler, brought the FOE entry home in the runner-up spot at Bristol Motor Speedway last August.

Buescher, who drives full time in the NCWTS for Turner Motorsports, has made four NNS starts in 2011 with his best finish of eighth coming last week at Dover International Speedway. In 27 total NNS starts, Buescher has captured three top-10 finishes and two pole awards. The Plano, Texas-native is thrilled about the opportunity to represent the Eagles.

“I am extremely proud to be able to represent the Fraternal Order of Eagles on and off the track,” said Buescher. “We are extremely lucky to have the support of their more than 860,000 members each week, they are some the best fans we have! The FOE has a great track record as a primary sponsor, two top-five finishes is pretty impressive. I know that with the help of Stewart Cooper [crew chief] and the team, we will bring this FOE Chevrolet home with a solid finish. Hopefully we can get them into victory lane!”

  • Elliott Sadler No. 2 Nationwide Series Advance: Iowa Speedway

Elliott Sadler No. 2 Nationwide Series Advance: Iowa Speedway

    Elliott Sadler

No. 2 OneMain Financial Chevrolet Impala

NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 12 of 34 – Iowa Speedway

ROOKIE STRIPES: Although he is a 16-year veteran in the sport, Elliott Sadler’s No. 2 OneMain Financial Chevrolet will carry rookie stripes when the NASCAR Nationwide Series rolls into Iowa Speedway. Sadler has never made a start at the 0.875-mile tri-oval, which began hosting Nationwide and Truck Series events in 2009. This is the second track this season where Sadler has had rookie status. Sadler first donned the yellow stripes last month at Nashville Superspeedway where he finished 13th in his first Nationwide event at the track. He will be making his career debuts at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal later this year.

LOOKS LIKE HOME: Although Sadler has never made a lap at Iowa Speedway, the track has very similar characteristics to Sadler’s home track, Richmond (Va.) International Raceway. Iowa Speedway, which was patterned after the 0.75-mile Virginia track, bears a similar configuration and has similar driving characteristics. This bodes well for Sadler, who finished fourth when he visited Richmond earlier this season.

ARE YOU A CODE SPOTTER? Last month kicked off the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) segment of the Nationwide Insurance Code Spotter Sweepstakes. Fans can play the Nationwide Insurance Code Spotter Sweepstakes for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind Race Weekend Road Trip VIP Experience with Elliott Sadler and the No. 2 team. To play, enter the code TEAM now at CodeSpotter.com.

FAN CENTRAL: Although he’ll be far from home when he arrives at Iowa Speedway, there is no doubt that Sadler will receive a warm welcome. State capital Des Moines, Iowa, which is only 30 miles from the Newton, Iowa track, was recently ranked by The Daily Beast web site as the city with the most dedicated NASCAR fans in the United States. According to the website, 40.3-percent of the population likes the sport.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 OneMain Financial team will utilize chassis No. 068 this weekend at Iowa Speedway. Sadler most recently raced this chassis to a fourth-place finish at Richmond International Raceway last month. No. 068 made its debut at Phoenix International Raceway in February where Sadler earned a top-15 finish.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: A sixth-place finish in a rain-delayed, caution-extended contest at Dover (Del.) International Speedway moved Sadler into the NASCAR Nationwide Series championship lead. After a pit road penalty and an untimely red flag for rain, Sadler and the No. 2 OneMain Financial team fought back to a top-10 finish in a wild overtime finish at the Monster Mile.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Elliott Sadler

How do you feel about going to Iowa Speedway?

“I’m excited about going to Iowa; it’s one of the few racetracks on the Nationwide Series schedule that I’ve never been to. It’s a cool looking racetrack on TV, and it’s shaped a lot like Richmond, which we did well at earlier this season. Kevin [Harvick] and these guys ran really well in Iowa last year. We also get a lot of extra practice time, and I get an extra set of tires because I’ve never been there before, so I’m looking forward to going to Iowa.”

  • Logano and No. 20 GameStop Team Narrowly Miss Victory, Get Caught Up in Final-Lap Crash at Dover International Speedway

Logano and No. 20 GameStop Team Narrowly Miss Victory, Get Caught Up in Final-Lap Crash at Dover International Speedway

The Race Recap: For the second time this season, Joey Logano and the No. 20 GameStop team were just a mile away from victory when a last-lap crash eliminated their chances for victory. Logano was side-by-side with leader Carl Edwards coming to the white flag Saturday afternoon at Dover International Speedway when Edwards got loose, slid up the track and got Logano aero loose, causing him to hit the outside wall and come back across the track, collecting several other cars in the process. As a result, Logano and the GameStop team finished 13th, the team’s worst finish of the season.

Logano started the day 11th when qualifying was rained out at The Monster Mile. It took little time for Logano to work his way to the front, getting into the top-five by lap 28 and into second just past halfway. Most of the day, Logano’s No. 20 GameStop Toyota was the fastest car on the track, taking the lead on lap 150 and leading for 37 laps before losing the lead late to Edwards. However, several attempts to finish the race allowed Logano a chance to race side-by-side with Edwards for the win, eventually resulting in the last-lap crash. Despite the accident, the No. 20 team came out of Dover still in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Owner’s points lead, 29 points ahead of Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch and the No. 18 team.

Joey’s Quotes: “Our GameStop Toyota was fast today and that felt great. I thought the race was going to come down between Carl and I and it did. We were the two best cars all day long, we just had to start a lot farther back and it took us a lot longer to get to the front than Carl. There on that last restart, Carl and I stayed right together and I think we were inching in front of him through three and four. After watching the replay, it looked like he got loose and started to chase it up the track. I was almost clear, but he got to that spot on my left rear that just got me loose and the car got sideways and slammed into the wall. It was a hard hit. After that, things just happened fast. I saw the underneath of Clint’s car and I knew it wasn’t good. Thankfully, everyone walked away from the wreck just fine.

“I hate that we tore the No. 20 GameStop Toyota up because that was a bad fast car. That last-lap deal, it was just racing. I mean, there were things that could have been done different sure, but it was just hard racing and two guys going for the win. Carl didn’t hit me and didn’t turn me around. He just got me loose by getting under me there. Plus, we were already up the track a little bit and at that point, it doesn’t take much to get these cars sideways. So it was just hard racing. That is what this sport it about. It’s unfortunate that a lot of other cars got involved though. It was a wild wreck for sure.

“I’m really proud of everyone today. The guys did a great job in the pits and Adam made some good calls on the radio and made some great adjustments. I knew going into the race that the car was going to be really good and they just made it better. I just really wish we could have qualified today and gotten a chance to start further towards the front. Things might have played out a little different then. But that is ‘shoulda-woulda-coulda.’ We are getting better and we are going to be a threat every week I think.”

Adam’s Quotes: “I’m really proud of the entire team today and really proud of Joey. That guy got up on the wheel and wanted it today and he did everything he could to get the job done. Unfortunately, we just got involved in a racing accident there at the end. It was two guys racing hard for the win there at the end. We just got the bad end of the stick I guess you could say. Joey has been really hungry for a win and you could see it out there today. He drove harder and better than he has all year long and it showed.

“A race like this, despite the disappointment of not winning, you’ve got to look at all the positives. We were one of the best cars out there all day long and for most of the day I would say we were the best car. We were just fighting track position for the first two-thirds of the race. Plus, despite the finish, a lot of other guys had some issues and we are still solidly in the Owner’s points championship, which is really something that is important to all the guys on the team. So we will head to Iowa with a lot of momentum following the last three weeks and having some of the best cars on the track each of those weeks. We’ll be back.”

What’s Next: The No. 20 GameStop Toyota and Logano will be back in action in a couple of weeks at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Top Gear 300.
